Back with another episode concerning relationships (situationships) and this week, I want you to ask yourself, why you're remaining in that situation, if it's no longer serving you, or better still, never served you?
I think out out fear, a lot of us have the tendency to remaining these relationships (situationships) for longer than necessary. So today I'm going to give you the reasons we maybe stay so that when the time comes, we know when to leave and that we HAVE to leave. Because it's never worth abandoning yourself, to maintain a connection. You and your mental health are too precious for mediocre.
This episode, we start to speak on relationships...we're thinking of making it series. The effects of relationships on mental health can often be underestimated and more people end up needed therapy to deal with those experiences, than you might think. Today, we discuss heartbreak, gaslighting, ghosting, validation, compliments...just the lot! Tune in and get listening!
A conversation about how we both have tried too hard to push things to the back of our minds rather than deal with them and process them in a bid to BOSS UP, do what needs to be done and not seem too sensitive!
Having done this so many times and crashed...we both now acknowledge that, bypassing is NOT IT! Contrary to popular opinion, processing emotions and feelings is the quickest way to heal.
We hope you enjoy this episode and can relate x
In today's episode, we discuss toxic masculinity and how it actually starts from such a young age!
We talk about its impact on men and the way it inhibits their ability to openly discuss their mental health. We then take it a step further and talk about its impact on women.
This discussion really highlighted the ways in which our deep-rooted mentalities need to change, in order to bring about change!
First of all, GREAT TO BE BACK! Thank you for being so patient.
Secondly...where do we start with this episode...WOW. We have Kwame with us this week and can't lie, we really do not know what to say. Such a deeply fascinating and moving mental health story. We discuss his adolescence, issues with isolation, drugs and finding peace in following purpose.
Jane and I say this all the time but you REALLY do not know what a person is truly going through based on surface level appearances. We loved this episode even more because of the vulnerability, especially for a male and we salute you sir for showing us what is means to be human, beyond gender, beyond societal norms, beyond stereotypes!
Hope you enjoy!
This week we're back with another episode on Christianity and Mental Health. Join us as we delve deeper into the conversation about mental health and whether Christians can or should take medication for it!
In today's episode, we will be discussing the impact of mental health on our faith (or the other way round...LOL). We enlisted our fabulous friend KP aka Krystal-Pebbles aka Church Aunty - to spray some wisdom on the episode.
Hope you enjoy!
On the last episode, Jasmine joined us to talk about Body Image and Individuality and People Pleasing. She touched on her battle with a skin condition called Psoriasis and we though it would be interesting to have her back to go into more depth about its effects, both physically and mentally.
Skin conditions are a constant battle for many people; to name a few, acne, eczema and vitiligo. We hope that the conversation in today's episode encourages people to realise that they are not alone and most importantly that a skin conditions does not define them.
In today’s episode, we have two very special guests, Jasmine - our favourite little sister and budding influencer (lol, we joke) and Efe - our favourite YouTuber and all round Slay Queen. They are helping us to discuss body image, individuality, and people pleasing! We really hope you enjoy our conversation and join in with it.
‘The phrase “It’s not you, it’s me” became very real for me. Inside, I knew, in my head I was crying and apologetic for treating people that way but at the same time, my physical body would not allow me to shift out of that realm.’
In this episode, Jocelyn takes us through her journey with mental health, her experience with therapy and the impact that poor mental health had on many other areas of her life.
