As I work to increase my work in broadcasting and seek to expand my work in emceeing, voiceovers, and audio book readings, here's a sample of my work.
Segment One: Aircheck from my job as sports director at Ranch Radio Group in Kerrville, Texas.
Segment Two: This is from a Friday Night Lights update from the Fall 2025 High School Football season.
Segment Three: My mock movie trailer for "Alien".
Segment Four: An aircheck from a reading I did on San Antonio-based Owl Radio, where I read articles from National Geographic. Owl Radio broadcasts readings for the blind.
If you'd like to talk to me about work (broadcasting, podcasting, voiceover work, emceeing), please email me at richardzowie@gmail.com or text me at 210-992-4019.

JR Zowie is my radio name. I work as sports director at Ranch Radio Marketing Group. I went on our classic rock station, 96.5 The Raptor with Rob Savage to promote Vet-Fest.
This event was November 1, 2025. Done as a public service announcement for Meals For Vets. Various stations across Central Texas and the Hill Country carried this announcement.
Saturday mornings, we do a recap of Friday Night Lights football results.
There's a 2.5-second pause between the first and second segments.
Sam and Stacey, two friends in San Antonio.
It's easy to spot a UT fan. They wear the ugliest color in the universe--burnt orange.
Well, SECOND ugliest color actually. The ugliest color is the color of the vilest concoction of split pea soup.
Full interview. Stacey discusses the San Antonio Missions' and Spurs' proposed new homes, the Alamodome, why she thinks San Antonio will never have a football team and why the UFL will never evolve into an NFL minor league.
Stacey Jackson, a lifelong San Antonio resident and sports fan, questions the San Antonio Spurs' quest for yet another new home. She also talks about the Alamodome.
Jackson likes Wolff Stadium and says IF the San Antonio Missions relocate to a downtown stadium, there's one major obstacle to deal with.
Caution: there are two profanities in this podcast.

This is one of my all-time favorite movies, with a brilliant plot twist right where you think things couldn't get possibly worse. Again, I'm cutting my teeth and paying my dues in hopes I can get into voice over work. Or reading audiobooks. I was going for ominous in my voice on this one.
And remember: In space, no one can hear you scream.

This segment, I discuss the Houston Colt .45s name, the movie Purple Hearts, writing contests, the Dallas Cowboys Net Worth (minus Jerry Jones' ego), and all my unread books.
Things I talk about:
Sgt. 1st Class Heath Robinson Honoring Our Pact Act, and why some voted against it.
The Houston Astros stole signs, but let's quit pretending that NOBODY else has ever done it [cough! cough!] Yankees, Red Sox
My beef with Dave Ramsey
Trying to get into voiceover work.
Yes, this is a work in progress, but it's a LOT of fun. As always, if you'd like to comment, disagree, send hate mail, or if you'd like to sponsor this show (I would do promos between segments), send me an email to fromatozowie@gmail.com
This is a prototype of an idea I pitched years ago. Had lunch with my general manager to discuss it, but nothing ever came of it. And now, it's a reality!
We can still be friends even if you disagree with my views.

Another audio book sample. Hoping to get into voice overs and other audio work.

Around 2019, actor Dennis Quaid and his band The Sharks performed in Fredericksburg, Texas. I got to interview him for the radio. I also asked him a few questions about an earlier movie of his. It was a thrill to interview him. Next best thing to meeting him in person.
Getting inundated with political snail mail, email, and texts and how I look forward to the day we can rid ourselves of all of it by abolishing political offices.
