A series of talks about clearing and raising our energy vibration in all its forms: thoughts, beliefs, words, emotions, actions, by applying awareness, transformation and manifestation tools and practices.
Granting forgiveness can seem to be a bitter pill to swallow. But I teach my clients that rather than relinquishing power over the situation, forgiveness is actually taking back our power and control.
By not forgiving, not letting go of the past wrongs and transgressions against us, we keep ourselves trapped in a negative vortex of emotions, that enervate, burden and cripple us and prevent us from moving forward in life. This resistant energy eats us up inside, like a cancerous growth, making us sick emotionally, spiritually and even physically. In terms of quantum physics and the law of attraction a negative, angry or vengeful disposition attracts more of the same from others. We allow more events and people in our lives that perpetuate the cycle of wrongdoing, insult and injury. Moreover, continually focusing on past wrongs robs us of peace of mind and calm in the present moment and our ability to create positive momentum in our life. It obfuscates our ability to think and act clearly, to be expansive and true to our innate nature of compassion and love – because we are made in God’s image. Hence, in forgiving we reclaim our power to be at peace, to be at one with ourselves, to be in control, not acceding to the negative emotions of anger, resentment, bitterness or fear.
On the other side of the coin is forgiveness of self. Sometimes self-forgiveness can be more challenging than forgiveness of others.
I think if God forgives us we must forgive ourselves. Otherwise it is almost like setting up ourselves as a higher tribunal than him - CS Lewis. So remember to forgive is a powerful act of God that we can pay forward to ourselves and others. By forgiving we can enjoy healthier relationships and improved emotional, mental and physical health. It reduces stress, anxiety, hostility and the risk of depression. It lowers blood pressure and boosts our immune system, our heart health and our self-esteem.
I conclude with the following powerful quote by Lewis B Smedes:
To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover the prisoner was you.
Fear has been our constant companion through the ages. Eons ago it served its purpose by keeping us safe from sabre-toothed tigers. Without it our race wouldn't have endured or survived.
However, today's fear is of a far more complex construct. We are fearful of so many things and we fight so many fearsome battles, including broken relationships, chronic illnesses and global pandemics. Today's fear is all-pervasive - we fear scarcity of resources, natural and manmade. We even apply fear to our identity. We fear we will never be good enough, that we cannot be creative, that we cannot attain success.
The problem is that the fear of today is our constant companion - it preys on our health, both physical and psychological with sometimes devastating consequences. Emotionally and spiritually it disconnects us from ourselves and our inner truth and worth. It casts a rift between us and our creative source. The Universe is all about creation, expansion and abundance. Fear is the antithesis - it inhibits, it dismantles, it de-constructs and it contracts energy. We can never find love and abundance when we are in constant fear and doubt.
This episode tells this story of fear and also gives us a technique as to how best we can handle and put aside our fears. so that we can step through to the other side and emerge triumphant - resplendent in love and abundance.
In this episode I talk about the importance of surrender when following our goals or dreams.
So often we feel the need to push ourselves forward, to strive for something better, to build a brighter, better future.
Whilst it's noble to think we can be worthy of a more wonderful life, the reality is that we are often trapped by the past (its worries and woes) or the realization that our current state is far removed from where we want to be. This dissonance or disconnect between what we have experienced and where we are now and the desired future condition presents a problem in itself. It denotes a sense of lack, of something that is missing.
This lack is a negative energy and leads to more lack. By surrendering to the here and now we open ourselves up to a gentle tide of non-resistant being, to grace and ease. Surrender is not resignation, it's not a giving up of goals and dreams. It simply means being more receptive and appreciative of what we already have. We become more aware of the signals given to us by a higher intellect, by God, the Universe. We catch moments of serendipity. We open ourselves to the energy of abundance.
This episode dives deep into the power of persistent, recurring thoughts and explores the split between our conscious and sub-conscious mind and why it's difficult to break thought patterns and behaviours. The discord or incongruence between the two minds creates neural dissonance which has a draining effect on our energy and keeps us trapped in a mind treadmill. As such, trying to adopt new beliefs and thought patterns can be enervating and feel like we're pushing against the current of a river. The talk also examines the mind-body connection and how our thoughts and emotions impact and change our physical body on a cellular and biochemical level. The talk ends on the topic of neuroscience and neuroplasticity and the possibility of being able to re-wire ourselves for positive change, helped in no small measure by the introduction of new techniques (including the Energy Alignment Method).
Power Talks is a series of talks about clearing and raising our energy vibration in all its forms: thoughts, beliefs, words, emotions, actions, by applying awareness, transformation and manifestation tools and practices.
In this first episode you will learn about the energy and power of words - how they have the power to harm and to heal both ourselves and others. An explanation is given as to why sometimes we lash out at others and what we can do to counteract this if someone does it to us. The episode ends with an exhortation to practise the art of giving compliments to ourselves as well as others in order to raise our own and others' energy vibration.
