Glasgow Is Green Podcast: Recent Episodes

GIGPOD

It's the Glasgow is Green Podcast aka GIGPOD, back and back with a bang! Stevie, Reidzo and Spunkphone talk all things Celtic FC in as close to half an hour as possible. Plenty of patter, some analysis and zero chat about Rangers finances - what more could you ask for ?

Celtic's nonsense continues. 4 games in and our season could be down the pan unless the club react (never proactive of course) with major signings this week to ensure we do not see anything like Saturday again in 23-24. Reidzo and Stevie react to Celtic 0-0 St Johnstone and discuss the concerns with the performance, and the season ahead. Do we have what it takes to make statement signings ? Go to Ibrox and get a result? Equip ourselves for the CL? We'll discuss all that in the week ahead. As always, follow us on Instagram/Threads @GIGPOD

We're back to chat what's happening at the club this week, injury-wise, transfers and contracts too with the small matter of St Johnstone at the weekend.

They're the worst team in the league and are a certainty to go down.

Surely this is the game we 'put on a show' as the song goes?

DISCLAIMER: Yes it's episode 177 despite Reidzo's faux pas calling it 178. Eh, it was a work.

We're back in the pub! Thanks to THE TAP YARD for hosting us yesterday as we took in Aberdeen 1-3 Celtic, a result that sees us soar to the top of the league, as always!

Stevie and Reidzo are joined by Hamish Carton, who takes part in his final Celtic podcast on UK shores before departing for Australia! By the time this is uploaded, he should have touched down in 'Oz'

Excuse one of us being clearly "steamboats", other than that it's a good listen as per and the only tears where when Reidzo had to buy a drink for everyone

Three points clear already, normal service resumes! Celtic did their talking on the pitch as always, gubbing Ross County 4-2 and Reidzo talks with Stevie about todays season opener, although it wasn't quite the hammering the scoreline possibly reflects, albeit Celtic never had to play at their best to win convincingly anyways.

We debate Hatate's scowling persona, Starfelt likely away, Turnbull's fine display and Matt O'Riley's goal being eerily similar to Gary Hooper's April 2012 finish. Oh and the goalie position is discussed as well.

It happened, Ange Postecoglou left Celtic.

Reidzo and Spunkphone react to that, how he left, his legacy and most importantly who the new manager could be.

In between that, they paid tribute to the treble winning side who have been terrific this season.

We wanted a quiet summer and time off for a month, but that won't be happening now, so we'll be back as soon as Celtic appoint the new manager, which should be soon!

Thanks for your support this season!

Robert Borthwick of The Terrace joins Stevie to review Celtic 3-1 Hearts and look ahead to Saturday's HUGE cup game at Tynecastle.

It doesn't get too personal, but Robert is bodied for his Carl Starfelt slander in 2021 and it isn't all one sided as he defends Robbie Neilson (almost) admirably for getting a reaction out of a certain GIGPOD member the other night.

It's the second part of our previews ahead of Sundays big game where, as I type this, Kyogo has been declared fit and good to go for the game!

We had just finished recording at this point and we won't re-do it just for that, however, hopefully you enjoy this one with Ryan Fitzsimons!

He runs the popular Youtube Ryan118 channel as well as The Sellik, The Thunder and joins us to chat about his favourite memory of winning at Ibrox, the game on Sunday, the atmosphere having an impact and the key battles on the pitch.

Let's hope our review shows are as enthusiastic as these!

It's back. That nauseating and unsettling feeling can only mean one thing.....

Spunkphone returns!

Oh and there's that game on Sunday.

He previews it with Stevie in what is, we think you will find, a fairly balanced one where we try and cut out the BRAVADO and BATTLE FEVER and acknowledge this is a tough game against a team who have plenty of threats to us, but we also, thankfully, talk up Ange and the team, and our shoot predictions do not feature a scenario where Rangers win.

It's the biggest game against them in years, and we'll be back on Friday, twice, to talk about the game with Ryan118 and 67HailHail respectively.

Celtic 1-0 Dundee Utd. A few days to go until GLASGOW DERBY MANIA hits us all, and Stevie and Reidzo break down the sensational victory over the Tayside club at Celtic Park to keep the pressure on our rivals, who slipped up yet again this year, this time at Dingwall.

If only Derek Clark had his way and the game was called off eh? Ah well, nevertheless!

The slightly longer intro is a tribute to Feyenoord and their anthem because of the sad news with the death of Wim Jansen. Don't know why we are explaining ourselves but that's good communication for you!

Yes I'm aware it's the 88th show and I said it's the 89th, let's just call Stevie an idiot and move on okay.

With Celtic returning tomorrow, and the sausage bean and cheese melt making a comeback, we thought we'd bring back our beloved CHATS TO segment, and on this one we chat with Hannah, who you may or may not know for her updates online about Japanese football.

Hannah's on Twitter - here and has been a fantastic source of information for all things J-League related, as well as translating anything online in regards to our Japanese players at the club!

We discuss;

How she got into the J-League, and Japan in general
Yosuke Ideguchi, Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda
How expensive Japanese football kits are
The cultural differences and stereotypes in Japan
And of course, Hannah gives us a SHOOT PREDICTION!

We'll be back for a review on Tuesday, and we hope you enjoy being back at Celtic Park as much as we will. We'll also have press access post-match and keep you informed about that before the match.

Once more, a huge thanks to Hannah, give her a follow!

Eight days to go until Celtic are playing, this winter break drags on, but hopefully this week flies in!

In the meantime, we decided to put out a classic interview from the ARCHIVE

We spoke to Craig Burley in 2017, in what was, alongside Scott McDonald's interview that same year, one of the biggest downloaded GIGPOD episodes ever, so for you lot who may not have remembered we did this four years ago, enjoy it.

The sound quality isn't as great as what you are used to, back then we just used a dictaphone, but this was also before quote tweets and 'this you?' as well, so give us a break.

We'll possibly be on 67 HAIL HAIL over the next week in the run to the Hibs game which you can find in Youtube.

Enjoy this throwback and as per, give us a review and a rating, or subscribe to us if you enjoy what we do.

We'll be back with our usual format to preview the Hibs game!

Stevie and Reidzo discuss memories of legend Bertie Auld, who sadly passed away on Sunday night.

The European cup winner, midfield dynamo and all round great guy, who made time for just about anyone, is remembered here on GIGPOD.

We thought it would be a fitting time to re-release our 2017 interview with the man himself for the listeners to enjoy.

Backstory: Stevie was a nervous wreck and had to cut half of this due to working himself into a shoot just chatting to Bertie, and the legend himself (Bertie that is) calmed him down while also slagging him for being a stuttering idiot, which is fair enough.

Rest in peace Bertie, you truly were one of the greats.

Maybe we need more than that after the latest nightmare for Celtic. Fresh from a doing in Denmark, we were humbled by Hearts on Saturday night and to discuss that game, as well as the imminent signing of Joseph Hart and the departure of Olivier Ntcham are Reidzo and Spunkphone.

Hopefully things don't get worse this week for the Jablonec game, which we'll be covering too.

We're now into March where the COVID death rate fell below 1 for the first time since October 2020, we had THAT interview with Oprah Winfrey, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, which was still nowhere near as bad as Lenny's January rant about Dubai, and speaking of princes, we said goodbye to TV's clown prince of attention - Piers Morgan was away from Good Morning Britain!

Ryan McGinlay of VERY COOL podcast, The Sellick, The Thunder joins Stevie to discuss two utterly appalling draws in this month.

A 0-0 stalemate at Tannadice finally saw us surrender the league title to Rangers, then despite our rivals being knocked out of Europe a few days beforehand, we still drew 1-1 with them at Celtic Park and looked utterly fatigued beyond belief.

Only two more of these to go and it's then all about the Large Angelos revolution!

Thanks as always for listening.

Losing to St Mirren
The Dubai debacle
THAT presser from our dear leader

Quite the laugh. It's all we could do at this point as we started the year 16 points behind Rangers and would the month 23 points behind them. Some achievement from that squad of ours!

We're now into December 2020, a month in which 12,000 jobs were lost when Debenhams declared itself 'Away', Mayor of Liverpool Joseph 'Joe' Anderson was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit bribery and Tesco reintroduced a purchasing limit on some items to try and stop panic buying. If only that stretched to Jon Joe Kenny! But more on that in another episode.

Five wins, two draws and a defeat, including clinching the quadruple treble....no reason to moan right?

Wrong!

Listen to Beans from FitzBeanPod chat with Stevie here about how that final was nearly blown, and the incredibly mental decision making that took place, such as Soro being dropped for Brown despite a superb game against Lille, and the goalies STILL being rotated for some bizarre reason!

David Turnbull's starring breaking role, alongside winning that cup, was our only positives in what was still a largely crap month for Celtic.

Ah, we're onto October now. A great laugh. Strap in!

Tony from PODTIMS joins us for this one.

It was the month that the wettest day on record occurred in the UK, British Airways retired their Heathrow based BOEING-747's, and the country demanded the resignation of an individual who caused so much damage after gross negligence........and this is us on about Margaret Ferrier and not Neil Lennon!

We win the first two games and it all goes horribly wrong after a dismantling by Rangers at Celtic Park, leading to a defeat to Milan, a draw at Pittodrie and throwing away a 2-0 lead in Lille.

Our guest's blood pressure was on the line so we kept this to a minimum, but as always with us, it's jam packed with patter and memories that is enough to make you heart go....'November surely wasn't as bad'

Oh but it was.

We are joined to regale the events of September 2020 with Hamish of 67 Hail Hail.

It was around this time that penalties for not wearing a mask had been dished out so frequently you'd have  expected to see James Tavernier as the beneficiary of them, the R number escalated for the first time since March, and the RTP number was about to increase too when Celtic would go onto sign Irish international Shane Duffy to eh....bolster our defence.

We remind ourselves of the least convincing 100% record we 'boasted' in September 2020, winning five games out of five.

It would turn out this was the only highlight of what was a disastrous campaign.

There we have it then, Rangers 4-1 Celtic, and that's enough for us to say 'have a good one!' for the season! We won't be covering the St Johnstone and Hibs games, but fair play to those involved who do, you truly deserve a drink more than we do!

We chat about accepting the fact we're second best to our rivals, the colossal nosedive from when we were about to play them at Ibrox last March and how teams such as Callum Davidson's side go there and are trusted to get a result ahead of us, which shows how far we've fallen.

The season still snores on, and we're being honest, we're fighting sleep trying to talk about Celtic positively at this stage.

Stevie and Spunkphone briefly talk about Aberdeen 1-1 Celtic but to be honest, the main focus was how we'll celebrate the end of the season when the ref blows that whistle to signal no more football for 2020-2021.

We do have a great new review of the season feature ahead though which Spunkphone chooses his month to discuss live on air!

That's that then, a 2-0 defeat at Ibrox has signalled the end of the season. There's four games left, one of them at Ibrox, but there's nothing to look forward to or play for, so let's be clear on that one.

The superb Sean (@EtienneBojan) comes onto GIGPOD for a good old fashioned SHOOT POD to talk about:

  • Why he said two weeks ago we'd be trounced at Ibrox, and never changed his mind.
  • John Kennedy being entrusted with our assets
  • The continuing neglect of analysis in key positions
  • The demonisation of Boli Bolingoli
  • Rangers being the antithesis of Celtic 2020-2021
  • Dominic 'Dom' McKay the saviour

We also talk about Celtic's meetings with the Red Bull clubs since the first clash in 2014, and how a defeat in 2018 was a pivotal moment in Brendan Rodgers career.

In addition to this, Karan also give his opinions on the Jesse Marsch managerial rumours, while shooting us down with the Ralf Rangnick pipedream!

There's also a look ahead to John Kennedy's hopefully short stint as caretaker boss and who we'd like to see as the permanent manager, as well as the players who may be able to shine in the last eight games of the season.

If Celtic won't put in the effort why should we ?

Underperformance is rewarded, and bad results seem to have no consequences so we've just put out a podcast with no plan, no topics, and ramble for half an hour hoping for the best, because that's what Celtic do, just have blind faith something will work, so this podcast will reflect that.

The strange games played by Neil Lennon and the board have just turned into a tiresome and boring saga, albeit one that looks like it will result in Lennon getting his own way to see out the season, just like he got HIS cup final.

23 points behind Rangers and buying in loan players just to secure second place ahead of Aberdeen and Hibs despite spending a fortune in the summer with various loans already in place  ? Normal stuff at a dysfunctional football institution. Another day at Celtic 20/21.

We hope you can try and enjoy this, and thanks for the continued support, the downloads are increasing and unlike Celtic we will try and entertain you, even if we're close to chucking the mic down the toilet at times during this show.

No, this is not April 1st GIGPOD fans, we have a podcast over 30 mins long.

This is one that's over 90 minutes long, but hopefully you'll find it essential listening.

Stevie chats to Sean (@EtienneBojan) and James (@JucoJames) about the task facing Celtic after this season, primarily the rebuilding job at the club.

This was recorded a day before Lawwell announced he was stepping down so talk about good timing!

We discuss:

The costs of the rebuild.
Celtic's identity and philosophy.
The RB Salzburg model - is it achievable ? Would it be welcome?
The strategy on youth development and wellbeing of foreign players who come to Glasgow.
Where Celtic could have been, to where it is, and how we have a big decision to make to fix this.
Embracing the data revolution and having the right people in place to achieve this.
The individuals who must let go of the power they possess for the good of the club.

We hope you enjoy this bumper episode, which is an important listen for any fan of the club interested in how processes can be put in place to help the club rebuild after what has been a really lacklustre season.

Sean and James are a tremendous listen on this episode, and we at GIGPOD appreciate them taking the time to chat to us about these key issues.

  • A week before Hamilton, will a new manager be brought in at last ?

We won't hold our breath, as Lennon's saying he'll not walk away, and the board will have to sack him, which they seem extremely reluctant to do.

You can find more of Lee's other podcasts on film here too:

That's the question we're all asking, what will it be next ? What's the next farce going to be this season ?

A dismal 0-0 draw at home to Livingston should be enough to force change any other campaign, but weirdly, this one seems to be one that anything is allowed to happen with no consequences.

Discussing the most recent shambles is Reidzo and Hamish from 67 Hail Hail. who steps in for Stevie this week.

There's an unoptimistic look ahead to the rest of the season, starting with Livingston away on Wednesday at the Anthony Macaroni Arena.

Once more, thank you to Hamish to helping out with the hosting duties in Stevie's absense, and hopefully he will be back soon.

Hamish the face of 67 Hail Hail and their Youtube presence is growing by the day. You should definitely subscribe to them here :

After a farcical debacle to returning from Dubai resulting in a disappointing 1-1 draw with Hibs leaving us 21 points behind Rangers, instead of lambasting Neil Lennon and Peter Lawwell as usual, this time GIGPOD ask the question; 'How culpable is Dermot Desmond in all of this?'

Mark, whose shoot assessment on Mr Lawwell in episode 12 was extremely well received, joins Stevie again on the show,  to answer that question as honestly as he can.

We discuss: what kind of businessman he is, how he makes his money and ultimately - does he have Celtic's best interests at heart?

With over fifteen years experience in business, Mark also briefly talks about his company Verve Energy, who help small and medium businesses with their utilities. You can find their website here  :  https://www.verve-energy.co.uk/ as well as on Instagram: @verveenergyuk/

Mark himself is on Instagram too: @markfinlayson and is of course also part of @justvoteimo

As always thanks for listening and subscribing to GIGPOD. The support is appreciated.

22 points behind Rangers.

A positive COVID test for a Celtic player.

A game against Hibs in doubt.

Nicola Sturgeon's impending moan.

Every club in the country quite rightly hating us at the moment.

Just another week at Celtic!

Stevie does this episode half done in by the common cold and is joined by 67 Hail Hail's Hamish Carton to discuss the latest shambles at our wonderful club.

You can find Hamish @67HailHail and he also does @GrandAuldPod

He's also @HamishCarton

Stevie and Reidzo get the mics out to discuss the 1-0 defeat at Ibrox, and where we go from here now this season, and the future in general as a club.

It's not cheery and the episode notes are needless here.

In a make or break game, we've not won like we really ought to have, and this result could very well leave us in turmoil for the remainder of the campaign.

Unlike the players, we won't be going to Dubai, so we'll see you sooner than you see them.

If you listen, thanks for doing so. We appreciate it.

Happy New Year GIGPOD fans!

This is it.

It's here and it's happening.

The game we have referenced on every episode that will make or break our season, broken down and analysed by Stevie and Sean (@EtienneBojan)

We discuss the facts that a defeat tomorrow means the league is over.

We look back at our performance when we last visited Ibrox in September 2019, and won with 36% possession.

Rangers strengths and weaknesses, from how to stop their superior full backs, to ensuring Alfredo Morelos shows himself up once more.

How we think Celtic will line up, and how Odsonne Edouard is going to be a dangerous player going into this game.

And yes, there's a shoot prediction.

We'll have a review out tomorrow after the game.

You can follow Sean once more @ETIENNEBOJAN on Twitter.

Thanks for listening!

Before the preview of the Rangers game, GIGPOD sat down for a chat over the christmas break with Paul at Celtic Fans TV. (https://www.youtube.com/c/CelticFansTV )

He runs one of the biggest Celtic Youtube accounts and we spoke to him about the growth of that, how vital it is to have a brass neck in that world, and a quick look ahead to the games against Dundee Utd and of course, Rangers at Ibrox.

Paul also helped do the draw for the Johan Mjallby apple & rhubarb gin, so if you did not win, blame him and not us. We are not responsible for your anger!

You can follow Celtic Fans TV on Twitter also @CelticFansTV although Youtube is undoubtedly their true domain, and are well worth subscribing to.

As always, subscribe to us where you can and a review always helps! It's Christmas ffs, do us a turn.

Thanks for listening and we'll catch you soon!

T'was the night before Christmas when all through the house not a creature was stirring except.......for a 6'1 Swede who takes no crap about to smash Stevie if he uses any wrestling analogies.

Thankfully this never happened......as no wrestling patter was used.

Johan Mjallby, three time league winner at Celtic and assistant manager of the club from 2010-2014 joins GIGPOD to chat about how he's getting on during the pandemic, the cup final against Hearts, his concerns over the defence as well as his thoughts on rotating the goalkeepers this season, as well as a look ahead to this New Years game at Ibrox, which could make or break our season.

Johan also talks to Stevie about his love of the humble bevvy, as he now has his own gin! The ex defender  kindly sent us a bottle of his rhubarb and apple gin for a lucky fan of the show, and we'll be doing the competition before Christmas.

Our thanks to him for that, as well as giving up his time to come on the show before the festive holidays. Truly a pleasure!

You can find Johan's excellent gin here : https://first-star-gin.myshopify.com/

The big man is also on Instagram here, give him a follow :

Legal Note: GIGPOD's lawyers said this episode title does not infringe any copyright claims of the other Celtic podcast titled 'Four Tims And A Podcast'

Well, the good news - Celtic did it. The quadruple treble was won.

The bad news - We'll need a heart transplant after how we did it.

Stevie and Reidzo discuss that game, and how it was more a feeling of relief rather than overjoy and euphoria. A final without fans possibly played a big part in this, which we also chat about.

Conor Hazard was the 'hero' but the scripts and stories can only carry us so far this season, and the reality is we should not have been in that position to decide this game on penalties in the first place. Nevertheless, a win is a win, and we also talk about Reidzo's curtains that were given pelters in the ACSOM Quadruple Charity weekend event.

You can watch us, and other podcasters associated with Celtic, here if you missed it:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5QX1JAaMeU

The work done by Paul John Dykes and the ACSOM team was nothing short of phenomenal, with over £20,000 raised for charity.  Incredible stuff, to be a part of this for four great causes was our pleasure.

As always thanks for listening and please rate/review us where you can, it really does help us out.

We'll be back for a GIGPOD CHATS TO..... very soon!

At the start of November, Celtic were 'back' just like GIGPOD.

That turned out to be a schmozz as we crashed out of Europe and the Betfred cup after that, but after two wins in a row, we can now say we are back again and the bad results eh.......were a work.

Stevie and John break down the comfortable win over Kilmarnock, Soro and Turnbull's impact on the team, Conor Hazard's breakthrough, Shane Duffy's poential turnaround and of course the run ahead.

Also there's details of GIGPOD at a charity event this weekend, you should tune into that.
For more details check @ACSOMPOD on Twitter, and our feed @GIGPOD for details in midweek.

As always a review or a rating wherever you get your podcasts would help and please also remember to watch TENET this week and do your bit for Christopher 'Chris' Nolan!

Yet again, Celtic have stuck to their guns with the future of the manager. He'll be getting HIS final. Despite yesterday's shocking result and performance, Neil Lennon has been told his job is secure once more, and will manage Celtic against Lille and then Kilmarnock.

One of the men who made this decision was one Peter Thomas Lawwell, who is adamant he is doing the right thing for our club.

Joining Stevie to discuss the myth that Peter Lawwell is a 'good businessman' is Mark, who covers his appointment in 2003, the opportunity not to jump ship in 2008, the 'great commercial deals' in his tenure, this season's colossally bad business strategy and what kind of legacy he will leave, whenever that is.

A really big thanks to Mark  for coming on and you can hear more of his patter here : @Justvoteimo and he's also on Twitter @markfinlayson

Celtic 1-1 St Johnstone.

13 points behind Rangers.

Winless at Celtic Park since September 27.

28 goals conceded in 12 games since October 17th.

Neil Lennon, as of tonight, STILL remains in charge.

We aren't angry anymore. We're just tired. And we're sure you all are as well. Listen to Stevie and John lament the latest mishap from this sorry Celtic team, from a nightmare that seems to be going on and on and on......

Simpsons / Family guy , the Marvel and DC universe move aside, here is the ultimate crossover. It's GIGPOD meets SPUNKPHONE as two legends go head to head. One man will actually be killed on the show in the BOUT TO POD THE OTHER GUY OUT.

Stevie is joined by the ultimate shitposter Spunkphone (real name unknown) to discuss the board's double down in backing Neil Lennon, the AC Milan game, Spunkphone's Italian football love in and a potentially humiliating experience in losing to a Hearts team in a couple of weeks who have three bald men up front.

There is an actual WORK REVEAL on the episode, with Stevie confirmed dead in South Lanarkshire after falling for one of Spunkphone's many gimmicks.

It would appear the worker has been worked by the very person who was trying to work him.

Enjoy the show and thanks for listening! We'll be back at the weekend.

Stevie and John are back for Episode 9 of GIGPOD, and it's not a very positive one.

It's an immediate shoot reaction from going out of the Betfred Cup to Ross County, and how Neil Lennon cannot be in charge tomorrow morning.

Not much of a blurb here, we all know what kind of podcast this is going to be, and hopefully you still enjoy the honesty of it.

We'll be back in midweek.

It's some laugh supporting Celtic eh. Ryan Christie and Scott Brown went on about how this Sparta Prague away game was a 'personal vendetta' and a 'grudge match', so naturally we lost 4-1 again, but don't worry, it's the fans fault, or bloggers, or podcasters....but not Neil Lennon's.

Of course we don't  buy that nonsense, and on GIGPOD here, it's Sean (@EtienneBojan) who articulately breaks down the problems at the club with Stevie, from persisting with Scott Bain, despite a damning goalkeeping record, to the 'psychological problems' that have been brought up by the manager since August.

Sean explains how he, like @JucoJames, saw this disaster unfolding back in June this year, and how a game in 2018 against Salzburg slowly changed his opinion on Celtic as a football club.

We'll cover a good performance and a win soon.....surely on Sunday against Ross County, even if Neil Lennon is still in charge which is 100% likely.

Once more you can follow the excellent Sean on Twitter (@EtienneBojan), and he is also a creative mastermind  on Extreme Polls (@JustVoteImo)

Thanks for the continued support, and please help us out with a rating wherever you get your podcasts.....preferably a positive one!

Two podcasts in two days, we spoil you here at GIGPOD towers!

On yesterday's show, we had Juco James breaking down data analysis, today we have ex-defender Kelvin Wilson breaking down his time at the club, in which he won two league titles and a Scottish cup, before departing at the start of the 2013/2014 season.

Neil Lennon is a man under serious pressure right now from a large section of the support, and there are distinct parallels to season 2011/2012, which we talked to Kelvin about, such as the dreadful start to the campaign and the below-par performances, but unlike that season, where the team clicked at the start of November 2011, this side have yet to get going.

Kelvin is now a coach at Ilkeston Town in England, and we discuss the pressures of the role, especially when a team isn't performing, as well as how he was coached by Celtic and Neil Lennon in particular, focusing on opposition, diets, the general culture and the morale of that team.

The big man gave up his time on a Tuesday morning to chat with us, and we hope you find it as interesting as we did.

Please subscribe to us on all the podcast platforms, and tell your pals that GIGPOD are once again..............back.

The good news : There's no Reidzo!
The bad news : Eh....Neil Lennon's still in charge.

Back in August this year, football data analyst @JucoJames caused a RAMMY with a fairly brutal assessment of Celtic's team after the Ferencvaros defeat. Many people went all out guns blazing for him, and it was akin to The Alamo! However, James stuck it out, encountering a Celtic FC Anonymous account along the way, and is still here to tell the tale!

Since then, James has turned out to be mainly correct in his theory that Celtic must part ways with Neil Lennon to salvage the season, and he discusses why he believes that a new manager must come in sooner, rather than later, here on GIGPOD.

Enjoy this fascinating chat on data analysis, how we unfortunately trail Rangers on the basics of it, and if we don't get our act together soon, how the future for Celtic FC could be fatal.

I would walk 500 miles................to do a cheerful podcast!

Stevie was supposed to be joined by a talented and humorous co-host on this episode, known for quick wit, catchy punchlines and snappy patter, but unfortunately * ****  pulled out at the last minute, so Reidzo is back for this one.

Discussed on this show is the FALLOUT from the 2-2 draw at Hibs, where it leaves Neil Lennon and the state of the defence.

There is even praise for BROTHER MADDEN for giving us a penalty, what a show this is.

We look ahead to the next run of games domestically, contrasted with Rangers games, and see if there's anything we can hope for whether that be us going on a run of straight wins, and them dropping anything, as sad as that is, it's where we are now.

There is even a shoot of the most pathetic team in the league.

And subscribe to us on iTunes, Spotify and anywhere else you get your podcasts as, all going well, there will be a couple of episodes out next week!

Cheers for listening.

It's been a great week! Trump was CRUSHED! COVID is about to be SENT PACKING! Our hallow podcast was accepted onto SPOTIFY , and of course Scotland ended an agonizingly long wait to a major tournament since France 98 the hard way, beating Serbia on penalties.

On this episode we talk about the impact made by Celtic's present and past players on Thursday night, discussing Ryan Christie, Callum McGregor, Leigh Griffiths, Kieran Tierney and of course.......David Marshall.

We debate the chat about 'missing out' on Declan 'D Wing' Gallagher and Lyndon Dykes too.

Ahead of the Hibs game this weekend, Stevie and Reidzo also lamented the potential omission of Moi Elyounoussi and Kris Ajer, although we're hopeful that proves to be premature.

As always, please spread the word we're back and give us a follow on Twitter (@GIGPOD) as well as subscribing on iTunes, Spotify or anywhere else you listen to your Celtic pods!

NOTE: I was banned from saying some things in this particular episode by Judge John Reid, especially the title, so it will have to be redacted, nonetheless, I thank Moi Elyounoussi for this personal and professional contribution to improving my life and views on the world.

We won 4-1 against Motherwell so surely there's no moans right ?

Eh.....well........Reidzo's back so there is.

However, we do lavish praise on the man who is keeping us ticking over these days, but enough about Stevie, Mr Elyounoussi deserves credit too.

There's a dig at Motherwell's stupid wee social media account and a look ahead to the international break, plus John goes for a FEUD angle with Christopher 'Chris' Sutton.

Hope you enjoy this episode and please remember spread the word that GIGPOD are back, or just leave a good review and rate us on iTunes if that works.

Who could have seen that coming ? Season 2020/2021's freefall continues at an alarming rate as Sparta Prague, despite their domestic league being suspended and losing several players to COVID, ran riot at Celtic Park.

The 4-1 win did not flatter them, and Stevie gets together (not in that way) with 67 Hail Hail's Hamish Carton to discuss what is wrong with this team, the flip flopping goalkeeper situation, Callum McGregor's decline,  the manager's 'culture change' cries and what big changes will be made for Sunday's game at Fir Park .

Comparisons to the 2011 make or break game away to Motherwell are also discussed, and remember to follow @GIGPOD on Twitter, as well as subscribing to the show and leaving a review, which would help a lot!

Hamish is on Twitter: @hamishcarton where he also does

No, this is not a glitch, we're back, we're back with a bang!

It's the Glasgow is Green podcast or GIGPOD as it was affectionately known,  podding once again after a farewell into the sunset in October 2017. It turns out that eh.....it was a work. Or something.

Stevie and Reidzo return once more behind the mics to discuss:

BEING BACK
How much COVID is having an impact on this season with Celtic.
The Aberdeen game at the weekend.
Celtic's loan players performances at Hampden.
The international break ahead.
And Reidzo's latest faux pas in saying the 2004/2005 was 'recently'.

We're delighted to be back, will it be for one season only ? Or will we sustain it until we do fifteen in a row ? We just don't know, so it's like Wispa bringing that MINT edition out......it could be LIMITED, subscribe and enjoy it again while you can!
