I am lucky to have music in my life, as well as art. I hear music in my head and give it voice. Its just that simple. So as you go through my cloud, you will hear music from many genres, because I feel many things. We are all the same. We are all working this all out in different ways, from different places. That connection to each other can be felt, like the wind, but it is unseen, so if a song reaches out to you, reach out to me. I am just a person trying to work it all out. All my music is free, unless you find it on iTunes, but some albums are only there so if you dont have any money let me know what record you want and ill send it to you. So I paint, and I do the art for all the bands I write for, and a whole lot of other bands, so I am blessed because art is divine. Anyway, if you want to book one of my bands, or whatever, want to sing one of my songs (they are all open to that) just reach out to me on Facebook or instagram. Send me a mail if you need me to support your track here on soundcloud, or if you need art for your music. Bless you.

What kind of world is this world coming to? Got no time for love gotta hussle on through
Wakeup The nation is waiting anticipating make the bacon Ham and eggs Get through our day make just enough rent to make our way
Everybody Knows We in that Hussle
aint nobody need that money more than they need to find somebody
aint nobody needs that money more than they need to find somebody
write that down…in your heart
for all of my friends who are feeling alone and down
I love you all, we will get a better world from all of this chaos.

SLIP TOO LOW I know you know that these times they are as hard hard as stone, I know you know
sometimes we all get down so low so very low deep down to our bones
Before I slip to low please just let me know i'm the one you're needing i'm the one you're needing
Before I slip to low please just let me know i'm the one you're needing i'm the one you're needing
We all get the feeling when the wall keep closing in that this world it is ending some say so be it
But we got half a chance to make it out alive But when we're fighting we get paralyzed When up is down and confusion is our bride WE just sit around and think

Revolution Love -words and music by jcpendergraft, offplanet record co. CAN YOU BE READY FOR A CALL SO STRONG THAT IT CHANGES THE SHAPE OF YOUR SOUL CAN YOU BE READY WHEN LOVE CALLS YOUR NAME WHEN YOU KNOW THAT YOU’VE GIVEN CONTROL SOME PEOPLE WAIT FOR A SIGN FROM A MAN WITH A GUN WITH BLOOD ON HIS HANDS
SOME PEOPLE WAIT FOR A SIGN THAT NEVER COMES AS ALL THEY LET THE DARKNESS MARCH IN
LOOK AT ALL THE PEOPLE MARCHING IN THE STREETS NO ONE IS FR EE UNTIL EVERYONE IS FREE FROM MANY THERE IS ONE A PROMISE WE MAKE TRUE WE CANT TELL OURSELVES THERE IS NOTH ING WE CAN DO
The tyranny of this moment can not be overstated As these men throw gas on the fire of hatred They say America was meant to be free as They take our breath, But when we can breath, It is liberty’s death And the fat cats just keep Counting the stacks, Stacks of bones, stacks of cash But we are more then just stats,
yah man
And as the dead pile up We see that leadership Is not just absent But absence is the plan Absence is the plan And in the absent of a plan we are left on our own Yet we are together in need
To fill in the gap that hate could not fill
For love is our path For love of our brothers our sisters that is a revelation a light of change OF LOVE to guide us Through this valley of death We will not wander FOR LOVE IS THE REVOLUTION FROM MANY WE ARE ONE

So it starts. New album inbound. this song is about LOOOOOOOOVE. https://youtu.be/nQ0NFOauM_M shitty video we did.
Hey, I know its been a while. 2020 is BS! I have been using my time to finish a novel, to paint and to spend time with my kids and my wifey. I am struggling just like this earth, but in my country 50 million children are food insecure. This really kills me, because my country has no shortage of wealth. This song is about how the current government is burning down the government as they leave. We spend 50% of each tax dollar, and future dollar on defense of the country, yet we don't see this as a national emergency. FEMA will not help, even though this is a natural disaster, that is compounded by some of the worst misinformation that one could imagine coming straight from the top down. ITs INSANE. to live here, now, to watch people refuse to mask, to avoid aggregation, is insane.
FAT CATS fat cats, in double dark glass smoking in the dasrk, cuz they know it won't last burn it down down to the ground by the time they put it out we'll be half way out of town.
this is the end of the beginning of the world there is no time for us to walk away
These are the children see how many mouths that we must feed These are the children We act as though we can't even see
Fat cats making off with your stash shaking hands making friends with the money you paid in Can’t win no matter if you grin your teeth are falling out like uncle sam he is a sin
Fat cats with double dark glass they smoking in the dark they know it won’t last burn it down down to the ground By the time they put it out we’ll be half way out of town

Never Been More Beautiful Words and Music ©2020 Christopher Pendergraft
For my wife of 21 years, Kimberly, same last name. She is a true kind-hearted inspiration to me, who has been there for me like I could not even imagine. When we started, we were juts dreams and will, and to see that get shaped into a family is more than this guitar player could have ever dreamed of. Now having a family is not an easy task, the luckiest people still deal with stress, as the Buddha said, life is suffering, but as a young man, I saw no way forward as both an artist and a family man, and thank God I was wrong about my own capabilities. Last night my son told me he wanted to minor in art, he is already teaching himself music now, and that is how it goes, we pass our dreams down like we do our virtues and failings and that is life. So the other day, while working on our front garden next to my studio, I was sure that Kim was more beautiful than the first moment I saw her, because now there is so much more, so much trust and a willingness to take chances, explore options and see the next stage of our lives and our love open up. Same team, same bad, dark sense on humor, same friendship. We are both shit out on work, because of covid 19 and I dont think we have ever spent more time with each other; and its really good. So take a chance on love if it presents it self, It works out if you bet the right horse, it pays out triple. Tripple!!
Never Been More Beautiful
Words and Music by Christopher Pendergraft for Torchfireheart
You and I traded in our youth for a child then there was another Out of the whole cloth of dreams and perspiration we carved a life with each other We left the envy and the smalltalk at the door so we could learn each other And on this fine spring day It this warm clear light Its so clear to me You are like no other
You've Never been more beautiful to me take a minute wont you sit by my side You've Never been more beautiful to me take a minute wont you sit by my side
I know where I was before I was not lost but you brought more More than my life could ever hope to be
You were what I was searching for We built a life Who could need much more more than anyone could ever need
You've Never been more beautiful to me take a minute wont you sit by my side You've Never been more beautiful to me take a minute wont you sit by my side
©2020 words and music by Chris Pendergraft Paper route this song is a time/space warp between my current self and the earliest self I can still relate to with in me. Paper route is the visual reference that I need to form a spacial idea that can push time. Its kinda tripy but I need a picture to start a songwriting journey. Those early mornings formed a work ethic I never lost, but it has taken from me more than it has given me as I have missed important moments in the live of my loved ones in pursuit of my career. Ageless story told by a million hallow men and women, Its not worth it. There is no security at the end, it can all be upended, and if we can prove that in this moment, is work what we should really use to define our worth? Has the money ever brough health, or love or anything really important? No. Companies will always, in almost every case, seek profit over people. Time for a world wide rethink on the almighty dollar and its true value.
Paper route
Ice on the road newspaper morning under the light of a thousand torches As clear as this moment I remeber that sky
The stars so bright the moon just a sliver orion the hunter Drifts to its center my and my bicycle sail under the sea of infinity
aint’t nothing that clear these days shit drives on fear these wish you were her these days Guess Im doing this anyways
Time on my side the wind just a wisper the air so clear it smelled like the winter Nothing in front to ever get in my way on this brand new day
aint’t nothing that clear these days Do it right or walk away thats what you used to say Guess Im doing this anyways
I used to throw the papers on the poarch for all the people so when they woke them selves They could know of all their evil But they must have never read it because nothing ever changes in this tiny world that is missing perfect places

Another one from the lockdown. This is all about the distance we are all feeling right now, My mind is a flood of memories and fear, my wife lost her job, I got put to half time, our government is a joke. All kinds of reasons for people to drink and stay high, but that shit dont work for me and its all about getting past the mind-fuck that is fear. Been married to my girl since 1999, and we have worked through some shit, kids, jobs, deaths and health issues. But this is a crazy kinda shit we have never seen, personally, so we just deal with it like I did my 1st of my 13th back surgeries, or how panicked I was about my first kid, the unknowns are real, but you all made it through every first trauma. So fuck it, be real about how you are feeling, write a song so you can say what it is you fear, and then let the fuck go of that shit. So shit is crazy-beyond measure, and we need to know what we can and can not control, or fear will take over our minds. Peace be with you and may we lose as few people we can. The Earth is some serious shit, its not all MALLS and CAFEs, sometimes its all about just surviving the evil of the day that is here and now.
love, Chris

So, just like you I've been inside, missing everyone, thinking about what a lesson of interconnection this all is to us. To me, I look at a common, free, healthcare system as the first defense of a nation. Then when you connect that idea to the world, its easy to see this idea should be a global one, not just a national idea. We all need help and I know we are not doing enough to help each other, not everyone of us, some do nothing but sacrifice to others, but a collective just needs to change its priorities to change its course. I live in the United States and the private healthcare we have supported cant support the homeless, and the poor are very unlikely to seek care even when it can be found in the bureaucracy. I know you all know it, but now its not an abstraction, we can see out health is built on the collective health and welfare of all others; we are a colony and we need to take care of each other, not create weapons in space. It's true, we are making weapons in space a priority and we see what happened with a simple virus. We spend half of every tax dollar on defense and we can't get our shit together to help each other right here and now. So the states bypass the feds and its all such a mess, and that comes out of not really taking the health of others as our own health. We are one planet, we must see that or we are doomed like the dinosaurs.

Words and Music & Illustration ©2019 Chris Pendergraft Hand Me Down Blues - Jimi Hendrix Tribute
Jimi inspired this track. He is always, and will always be, my guitar teacher. I heard 'Red House' as a teen, facing my first rejection by a girl and he spoke to me like no one had ever spoke to me. From that moment I was hooked and it was that moment I took my music studies with a serious vigor. This song is all about the shit we all carry, that which brings us down is the burden that we carry, and knowing what to carry is the difference between happiness and sorrow. Yah, you can love, but that love can let you down, worse you can let yourself down, so not matter whether you got the world in your hand or not, you got to carry your burden. Sorrow can feel like chaos, screeching guitars and howling wind. So many thoughts swirl round until you can make no sense of your own sense. That's when we are overwhelmed with self, and that is a bad place to stay; so when the burden is too great, it is only us that can throw the dead weight overboard, and give away what makes us sink. Just make sure you don't throw out what is most important to you because you think you are not worthy of the gifts and challenges that the universe has bestowed upon you.
The first sections represents the burden, the weight we carry, the chaos it produces. When we focus on the whole we see the problems are sometimes self created, perceptual and even driven by well intended truth seeking. The second section of the song is the realization that we often carry the burdens of others, the expectation of those outside of us. The blues are often the the result of social, financial burdens that we assume to take on a position of a productive member of society, but not ever person fits in a hive mold, and that can cause people to take on work that they have no desire to do, and that can lead to disempowering growth of the soul. Someone working hard to do what they want at the same time helping society brings balance to the energies of life so the right work life balance can be achieved. The third section is the release of those burdens and the feeling of peace and hope for the future that brings.
If you think humans need just food and water and air, then you ignore the need for purpose and a life filled with hope. Hope is what we really live on. Seek hope, not happiness. Peace in your lifetime, Christopher Pendergraft

Goodbye To The Sun She is a ghost that I can see that it is her standing in the scene Turn on the spotlight to center stage she is dancing inside a golden cage
Had a lover who could not love me But in the end I think I gave her everything I gave her
Goodbye to the sun as I watch it drown it sinks so deep into the sea Goodbye the to the light That burned so deep Inside of me

written after the start of the Iraq war. A dark and contemplative album, that was recorded to CD but never released until tonight. My son was just born, a lot of deeper meaning in here now that I have some distance. Thinking in album format starting to develop. Barfight, its music, was really a Danny song. He had left to get his PhD in American history, so we recorded it, and he came back into Oakland to record with Mike and I. Was before Michael had a control booth, total bedroom recording at the vulcan, early protools, very cool, All guitars are models in amplitube. Still use amplitube now live on my iStomp. Anyway thanks for listening.

Take some comfort in the sun Now that the rain has come Everything is beautiful The cloud I say they tell no lies The sing a song of sunset's perfect light and along we stare back in laughter Light and Shadow in perfect balance At the edge of evermore Time it seems our only teacher As we walk towards fading shadows
Words and music ©2018 Chris Pendergraft She fights a fight That only a few shall see In a world gone mad She is sanity
Its not what they say Its only what they see Angels on a pin, in every shadown of history
Hand Me the skeleton key
Open the doors I’ve burried so deeply
Ordinary men are drawn into her light Every mother knows her name in every language for all of time
She is love She is love
Its not what they say Its only what they see Angels on a pin, in every shadown of history
Hand Me the skeleton key
Open the doors I’ve burried so deeply
Hopelessly waiting for yesterday’s promise but the car never came up the drive But there still time to unlock the future But you must remember to drive drive drive

Dig Down Deep
She sits upon her stoop Stuck in memories that she'd never faced Once were thorns But now are butterflies She tries to let them go, up above Across The setting sky Once were thorns but now are butterflies What it me? was it me? what it just a bad dream? Will it overtake me like some disease? Will it break me? Once were thorns but now are butterflies I can see I can see that its all within me but only the truth can set me free I'm big enough to climb from here to Hell
I used to think, That memories Were like razorblades, The deeper that you dig, the more you gonna bleed But now I see the truth will set us free From repeating' all our History That's why we all gotta dig down deep That's why we all gotta dig down deep

The Fuel Of Our Despair
When you take wrong turn sometimes baby it hurts but turning back never seems to work so you just keep driving
count the days untill they blur until your memories hold you captive they are static wrapped in snow no clearer then a foriegn language
What is that fuel That drives us to despair and takes away our keys What is the force that keeps us here in a place that we can not leave
Someday you will turn down the perfect road realize each mile you’ve taken each one has brought you home towards our impossible tomorrow where there is hope that you can breath Sometimes we are tied up in darkness And there no hope we can see

Rainbow She dips her dreams in ink so red like velvet sheets on crimson bed and flies above with no regrets she says there's nothing here for me And she flies up to the sun like she's the only one to see Dreaming is candy red a trampoline inside her head She's free
No one really knows her, like they think they do, she's more then just a dreamer She knows she's a rainbow breaking through
You know you just don't need it when people try to bring you down You owe it to yourself my sister, head on outta this town. head on outta this town.

So this is what happens when I start a song about compassion, and it mutates into something I was not expecting. IT bloomed into something I hope you can help me describe. Hope to reconnect with you all soon.
If you make it through this piece I thank you personally.

Started from a riff, we made a tune in a day. Now on the Jilters new album sham-romantica, we played a gig last week together. Sorry been off-cloud for a while. New job is killing my music time. much love Chris
©2017 Chris Pendergraft I love to have a day off, and I love to just warm up playing my classical guitar. Its a 1970-ish methinks based on serials Yamaha g-231 ii It has some new strings that have stretched over the last couple weeks so its finally keeping tune. This is just me f*cking off with no idea but just to warm up my hands beforeI playas today. I have a gig tomorrow with a new band (me and my drummer kyle joined up supporting another songwriter) I am working a ton and this is the first day I have had to just chill and warm up. hope you are all having great summer - sending my best vibes to you

we are dead to the future and yet still breath In the whispers of children we find how we think
Where darkness meets the light thats where we are defined The Shadow line The Shadow line Where darkness meets the light thats where we are defined The Shadow line The Shadow line
Born from darkness Into The Light We are what we leave behind What we leave We leave behind As we walk Down the Shadowline
Hey what cha gonna do with your day? We never really know when it’s time for us to go Hey what cha gonna do today Its not where we go it's more what we do We're the choices that we've made We're the choices that we've made
words and music ©2017 Chris Pendergraft for EchoCosmic on Off Planet Record Co. For my dear friend. I am so proud of the woman she has become.
She spends her days just bending light On canvas that once was white She puts on her favorite tune And paints her dreams in red and blue She’s filled with such gratitude Because she once dreamed of this life
Not everyday is so great somedays she trudges through the rain No matter what we do We can not avoid such days These days we can not shake the grey
Run and breath in the air You can smell the rain but it wont rain today take in the sun take in the sun take up your brush before it goes away
take in the sun take in the sun take up your brush before it goes away

Artwork by my dear friend Boo Johnson (thanks Boo xx) http://www.boojohnsonart.com/ song available on Itunes, google play and all digital outlets tomorrow(5-27-2017) This is a dedication to the men and women who have served and to those who have fallen in the on going conflict in Afghanistan. NATO, Australia, UK forces have fought side by side an impossible fight that at points is just a survival game for a band of brothers. Over three administrations the goals and commitments have changed, but the dedication of those forces has never wavered. This really shows the importance of real thoughtful leadership and a mission with an end goal. As forces escalate in size it may seem that we move back in time, all along the war is almost forgotten to all. Where are we as a country to forget a war? The longest war in our history. It's a machine that can't be stopped; built on the commitment of those who put country and mission over personal well being.
As we march out east To the valley of thorns We look through our tears But do we belong You can not breath Through the smoke and fire You can not live when we die by the sword
Angels we pray Our side will prevail As we make our way To the end of this world
The bullets fly, The shadows come They pass across this valley of thorns We move ahead We are locked behind When We move ahead we walk back in time
As we march out east through this forgotten war This barren soil is stained with our blood We must look back To see where we’ve come So many years Through this valley of thorns

When We've Fallen _________ The past, a ghost set it free to roam a cell to witch you hold the key What you let go Is all that you can hold The distant scent of memories Just get through this You know you got this You are more than your pain We all got demons We are angel We are sunlight we are shadow Don't let your sorrow clip your wings When We've fallen, We will rise up And make a new tomorrow Make a new tomorrow When We've fallen, We will rise up And make a new tomorrow Make a new tomorrow You got you need it you want it you take it You got you need it you want it you take it

These words they weave the tapestry of my mind They shows the peak and valleys Of my unsought notions The picture changes over time As it move in and out In and out of focus
But it’s only up to me How I choose to see What I choose the carry Is mine to make my load
Look at Those Fallen Temples They Once were edifice of the faith of nations Fallen Temples Fallen Temples

-Abandon-
Im no good no good for us she say she’s lost in London fog But her eyes just look sideways just towards the sunrise she says she needs what is just out of reach
what was that one song I can not remember That one that made me want to surrender
to all that the night could ever choose to bring
She’d DO ANYTHING TO FEEL it ONCE AGAIN Shed TRADE THE WORLD AWAY FOR MORE THAN A MEMORY
the backstreet the rain fell down so hard some shelter a cafe that feeling once more so take me abandon this starlite sky sky surrender your shelter tonight
This wont do wont do for us he says he’s lost in a one side love
But his eyes just look sideways just towards the sunrise He says he wants what is just out of reach

Got no time for waiting for the storm to go away For our liberty is fading Its slipping all away
Don't lose your sleep Don't be deceived It's just a matter of time before the truth comes to light.
Politicians push superstitions past superstition they lay out their case Backroom deals That trade in our futures Unseen to many Our freedoms all fade But All the while they march to the castle To lay to waste all who will not obey All of the fortunes Once starving children they were forgotten they were left to waste All from the backroom Of an unseen meetings All of our futures Are traded away

Man I am so stoked to release this track with @Russell-Sinfield. We are working on a record of tracks inspired by hendrix and this song "Nation of Deception" is our best to date, Russell Sinfield killed it on guitar and producers it and mixed it- I sent him dry tracks and that is how much I trust this dude! He brought some sick ass guitar work and we have a mega duel as the song goes on. I got nothing but respect for Jimi and I hope y'all can feel this. Nation of Confusion
People know it best as a feeling of confusion a place in thought made of nothing but despair But the fool know It not where you're at but where you are going that proves if the jokes on them or if it's been on you
Nation of Deception What is your direction You've gone too far too far to see Nation of Deception What is your intention You've gone too far too far to see

Mother Earth Your a strange, strange girl your garden grow so green but lately your children cut it all down It's like they just don't see
We have everything we need we have what we need We have everything we need we have what we need
And siste moon shines on but she ain't no Jealous girl She been around long enough to know The children of earth will kill that world
Father Sun you're a groovy old king You're morning light makes the birds want to sing Your children fight over your tears of gold Killing each other it must get old
We have everything we need we have what we need We have everything we need we have what we need

She just dont think she can take it Another heartbeat Another turn of the sun
She has the treasure of her memories But when she looked to see the future she thinks that nothing can be done
When this creul world It brings on down the blues She want to get down to to the bottom get down to to the bottom
She digs on down (try to sort it out) But she never really gets there She digs on down to the bottom But she never really gets there
If you take it all in it going to break you there’s only so much you can bare Cuz you never know where life will take you You deserve to know this world

Sister your voice so clear not a whisper you must make them hear Not an end a place to begin don’t wait for brother you must look within
How many voices fallen sillent struck-down in shame silenced by the fear of what they may have to say
Never let them take your voice away you were meant to lead this change.
Brother we’ve come so far we must got further before we tare it all apart Peace is not just a space between wars The time for bloodshed has come and gone

Jimi Hendrix has had a significant impact on my thinking. If you are familiar with my work, you may already know that. This is the first slow blues I have ever recorded or released. When I got electric lady land my mind changed with what music could be, and even when I write classical he is sitting with me, teaching me. I really never made another connection like that in music, maybe to Debussy, but Jimi moves me, spiritually, in a musical way that's unique. I offer nothing but respect for his impact on my playing, I thank him, his family and his fans world wide for keeping Jimi's music alive year after year. Peace.
I wrote this today about the Oakland ghost ship fire, that took at this point some 36 confirmed lives. This district I came up in, still have our recording studio in. Its a live work community of cool ass folks trying to make life a little closer to art then reality. Me and my folks threw tons of parties and we just lucky and blessed very few people ever got hurt. What happened this weekend really hit me hard. I hope that we can learn something and find some comfort in the love that we have for each other. We all have so little time, and to me it is especially tragic when young people are lost.

Produced and mixed by Russell Sinfield @russell-sinfield- thank you Russell! A few weeks ago I was thinking about if Jimi Hendrix were around looking at the political system and what he might have to say about it. He was a brilliant lyricist and found a cool way of telling storys about people and the inner mind of those people. I look at him living in a very divisive time and leading a very non-divisive existence. So with much respect do I put this track out, to Jimi and his fans, Jimi straight up taught me how to look at guitar, and think with songs. So much love to Jimi and to his family. I did the painting of Jimi last week as I messed around with guitar work. I hope y'all can dig on it. Cheers words, music, performance, and artwork ©2016 Chris Pendergraft
Look at all these jokers Just trying to play that game They got Stuntmen , props and posters The politics of hate Forget the children Of the war on povery They got can drives, Christmas cards and hustlers The propaganda of today each and every day
Before you say it ain’t on me when you turn away we walk away on chaging
What do you think that hates gonna bring you when everybody knows it takes love to make us safe Dont get your self all caught up and confused the more things change the more they stay the same
Look at all these children just trying to make their way they got airstrikes, morterfire and carbombs the politics of hate Forget Alepo They say its gone They say its gone today They got hospitals, humans and bandaids getting darker everyday each and everyday
Before you say it ain’t on me when you turn away we walk away on chaging
What do you think that hates gonna bring you when everybody knows it takes love to make us safe Dont get your self all caught up and confused the more things change the more they stay the same
Look at all these people just trying to have their say They got voter fraud, supression, and harassment The politics of change Forget tomorrow We got to deal with this today We got shooters, hackers and con-men Taking our voices away each and everyday
Before you say it ain’t on me when you turn away we walk away on chaging
What do you think that hates gonna bring you when everybody knows it takes love to make us safe Dont get your self all caught up and confused the more things change the more they stay the same

So warm this summer morning But the daylight never makes it in
Shadows fold up all the corners like blankets that cover up the bed The light out side is waiting But you must rise and let it in
Sleeper Dream this day away Sleeper Nothing in this world Will change unless you wake So warm this summer morning But the daylight never makes it in

Some days We moving backwards We past this place just yesterday Some days The storm is hatred We walk away from peace To save our pain
There is but one love There is but one world There is but one tribe We must find our way back home
Build a wall Half a mile high Big enough to block out the sky You’ve got yours and I’ve got mine Stay on your side For This is mine side
In it to win it the payline He’ll play it he pushes his chips in and raises the steaks as All of the others feel quite dizzy as look for a tell it seems that he bluffing
What noone kmows Is Such a same He lied his way Into the game iif he wins he walks away anyuthing to make his play anyuthing to make his play
©2016 Chris Pendergraft, all music, art and performance. This is a song I wrote while painting my version of Atals. I spend a lot of time painting mythology, and I imagined the meeting of Hercules and Atlas similar to a carny caller trying to lure the young strongman up to ring a bell. So of course you will hear some Rocky Horror in here, as that was what I was shooting for. I Love the Ziggy period of Bowies life and I must tell you I have listened to a lot of bowie lately. I imagined the verses as Atlas and the chorus as Hercules who could not even understand why he would continue to carry the world. Forgotten Titan no more.
So here it is I hope you dig it- xx00xx Chris
©2016 Chris Pendergraft, words and music, and performance. Lost Is Lost This is a song about letting go of what is lost, and appreciating the moment we live in. I'd rather not dig any deeper on lyrical meaning here. I think that we have these moments, that define who we are in the end, but if we look to hard at the past, we miss the moment we are in, and we get into a routine of life. It's a certain comfort we have, but we need to be open to the world, and that may require going out of our comfort zone, to explore the world.
they used to have something that was perfect in every way not because they were strangers because they always knew just what to say
and we wonder in silence where will time take us Now that we’ve given up the wheel for there Once was a time when all that we needed was here
what’s lost is lost it is smoke in the air The perfect note that hangs just right that fills the midnight air what’s lost is lost it is smoke in the air The perfect note that hangs just right that fills the midnight air
I must tell you something cuz I want the whole world to know Aint no one in this big big world Who could give me such a perfect love and we wonder in silence where will time take us Now that we’ve given up the wheel for there Once was atime when all that we needed was here

aint no body in this world born with all that you need the truth is sometimes it takes the whole world To find out just what you really need
whats the point in trying baby when nothing ever goes my way Im so damn tired of just trying to get by Sometime I can take another day
Ain’t nobody in this whole world who ain’t gonna be touched by pain
The truth is in life just to know yourself And find out just what you really need
watch the wind whisper secrets through these trees forests that spring from memories we run to shelter from the afternoon rain All of these moments we must take
performance and arrangement ©2016 Chris Pendergraft lyrics and music ©1967 Bob Dylan.
For my soundcloud family, my first cover, ever. I was raised in a house where bob dylan was gospel. As crazy as things have gotten as of late in the United States and around the world this song has stuck in my head like a mantra. I hope you can dig the more modern arrangement and I hope to not offend anyone in that way, as some consider this sacred. I also paid homage for a few measures to Jimi Hendrix, as he is considered to have the definitive version. I must agree, but I also love Dylan's original, but my generation needs this track as much as any previous, and I imagine that it will be covered from here till the end of time. Much love and respect and I hope you can all dig it. Recorded August 4th 2016, in Echocosmic studios. All instruments recorded and performed by myself.

Uptown man never really gave a damn no bones at all just a film flamm man What you need son? I got it I got all the shiny things shiny things I got all the shiny thing shiny things
What do we even know at the end of the day we’ve been lost in market speak and we’re running out of run way If we really need all the shinny shinny things Then we may have to choose between them and breathing
Lizards and Androids Oversized deltoids Corruptionon a cosmic scale Wizards with backpacks Bus driving sleestacks I just took a ride on a flying squirrel Where is the outrage Of the unpaid interns As thier bosses expense all the strippers’ tuition but nothing else changes when strange is the normal We’ve all got our secrets When We all live sedated

When the days seemed like forever
I can't count all the cracks in the sidewalk I guess it must be a billion lines I walking with that summertime feeling like everything is gonna be alright alright
Do you remember when the days seemed like forever and the sun never ever went down Those summer feelings they are not behind us Then are waiting for the new dawn
Yes this world gonna try to bring you down Don't give into it When it does got to turn yourself around we must lean into it who ever said it was going to get better Unless we get together who ever said it was going to get better Unless we get together
Do you remember when the days seemed like forever and the sun never ever went down Those summer feelings they are not behind us Then are waiting for the new dawn

This song dedicated to the ongoing process of change that must bring us all together.
Last weekend my friend and old bandmate came into town and we worked on this song together. We kinda cut our teeth together, wrote many records together and I hope we can make a full album together in the future. Danny is one of my closest friends and although he lives in so cal, we stay in touch and always have. I was fantastic to see him and play together again. If you know my playing you can hear his influence in every note on the bass and how I approach arrangement and feel.
This song is heavy duty Rootbeer, our original band, and when I wrote the original arrangement I had Dr. D in mind. So cool he showed up when he did.

©2016 Chris Pendergraft This song is about one of those moments you have, if you are lucky, where you see that your whole life, with all of the mistakes, has brought you to a good place. I can't tell you how to get there, but if you end up there, embrace those moments, for they are the true gold, the true value of our lives lived here on Earth.
Whispers Of Gold words and music by Chris Pendergraft
She smiles and whispers Words of Gold Its matches perfectly The color of her soul
How did I Find such a lucky life?
She takes the afternoon light as it stretches across her garden a catches it first just in the corner of her eye then she turns just slightly as the sun shifts to show her beauty She smiles at me just like I’m the only one

Seems Like these blues they never take a day Seems like were always waiting for the rain to go away No time for love Got to stay up in this game But it seems to me something needs to change
Don't you worry now baby Everything is going our way Don't you worry now baby Sunshine is headed our way here we go

This is a Preview of 'The Torchfire Heart', act 2. In its completion, musician from all overEarth will slowly replace my tracks with live instrumentation. Some parts will stay, but I intend to feature many vocalists as well. We will make this complete. I intend to set up a website for collaboration and for explanation of the project scope, but in a nutshell it is meant to be a stage show with an equally important visual element that will be a mix of visual projections and live performance. I hope you will support it and make it happen. Thank you so much to the soundcloud site and community for allowing such an endeavor to occur. I love you all. yes, all of you.

What would you sacrifice? For the path of love Could you endure the price of the path of love So strong this ancient light it cuts so deep in my bones and through a thousand lives this light it guides me home
And in the beginning Jus like now, Love is the way
©2016 Chris Pendergraft for his Mother, Grace.
Don’t fear Mother Cuz I will do what your raised me to do Because love’s enough to guide me Im gonna find my way through
We never really talked about the changing of the wind We spent out time comiserating on the politics of men I know life can be complicated with a million shades of gray But you’ve always helped to simplify what goes on inside my brain
you taught me life is all about knowing wrong from right and never ever waste your love on those who want to fight you must know that I have listened but as always I took my time some things we must just go through and learn by living life
Now with my own children I Know must always be kind i’ve never made excuses For you taught me how to shine I get up every morning make the most of every day all because you loved me and love will guide my way

Excuse me there my friend I don’t mean to waste your time for no one lives with extra days no loans can pay the bill of life As miserey is my witness I’ve wanderd low and high, I’ve lived a simple lesson each day you’re out of time
My father told me son If you do it do it right My mother said now baby you were only born to shine So I never ever look back To what may have slipped away Time is just the guage of change But we only live today
We’re coming out Out tonight We’re coming out to blow your mind We were meant to shine
Just get into my car cuz you know its time to go It been too damn long since we hung out I got tickets to the show Now don’t give me no fuss my friend Cuz you know it’s getting Dont matter what tomorrow will bring for we’re alive today
©2016 words music and art by Chris Pendergraft a dedication to the artist who taught me to sing, in a way my first real 'fan' band that I followed. During his last show, Prince told the audience "I am okay, don't waste your prayers on me" This really struck me. I heard this melody the day he died, and I sat down today and tracked the drums and everything else. Van Jones was Prince's friend, and he spoke about him in very personal terms the other day, and it move me to tears. Prince was a philanthropic person, and did his work under secrecy. This really moved me, he was so ON and still he looked beyond him self to help others. I hope Van and his other close friends can find the peace that passes understanding.
So the song is about all of our loss, and the idea that maybe for a moment Prince would get to see, like his impact on the world, because the music he brought us made us think and feel, a myriad of different feelings, because he reveled his inner struggles and victories through each beat, note and lyric. He was a fucking master. There can not be another Prince. Right now all over the planet, people are dancing, crying, laughing, going crazy; because of his courage to find himself in his music and encourage us to find our inner rockstar, even if its just when we are in the car, pumping the jams. God Bless Prince Rogers Nelson.
The World You Taught To Sing (For Prince) Now that you’ve gone You know this world it is a harder place But you’ve left so much behind We’ve been blessed each and every day
Now you rise up Above the clouds For now you are Free yes you are to see the love that you bring To all those in the world that you have taught to sing and tonight they sing Don't Waste No Prayers, No Prayers on me Cuz now I am free Don't Waste No Prayers, No Prayers on me Cuz now I am free

The Lesson That Death Leaves Behind After we pass on will there be a new dawn Will they raise up your name have you found your way to leave your mark upon this place
Well I guess for me I have just begun to live to see what life has to bring
Never really spent much time trying to prove that I am right I’ve beem wrong just enought times to know wrong is wrong and what right is right I just try to take each day and make a way to shine my light

Sometime the razor cant cut deep enough to get way down deep to the pain sometime the ink can’t cover up the scars always seem to show thier face
So she knows dont get too close
So he knows dont get too close
So she knows dont get too close
everytime you do you leave your self exposed
She’s wainting for some time when the winds will change She’s waiting for love To show her her way but everyday the sky grows darker as she waits for the change Everyday he grows colder as she pushes him away
I know they feeling Cuz me, I used to fly when I could taste the love it was time to say goodbye In my rear view is how I learned to drive
The past was blindness And I learned to live a lie
And for those poor souls That I left within in my wake for that I must confess Fear drove me away for that I must confess Fear drove me away Cuz everytime you love You leave yourself exposed

I once was lost...
The Devil Knows The Truth(High On Stars) Id Like to blame the devil, For everything I do But I'm so damn tired of lying and the devil knows the truth
We took a rocket to the top But we knew we'd never make it we were high on stars we were so very fade We were swimming in marmalade Like the hazy days would never go away Lyrics in Lipstick Seems like we meant what we said All my fears go away aint no demons anyway IM just a man IM just a man All my fears go away aint no demons anyway IM just a man IM just a man

Here is a little preview of what I have been heads down on for a good few months. Thanks for listening...
So about the song. Many of you may know, or guess that I struggle, keeping my mind in the 'real world'. I am a daze, in most moments of my day, I have a family and must remain in the game, for my survival and my childrens' depends on it, so I work as an software engineer. I make all kinds of junk. I drive in a car, I sit in a cube, I swipe a card I open the door, rinse wash repeat. Drone. But my head is never there, it's in a constant creative flow, as i draw of the energy of a billion neurons and make a little part of the world, my part, more honest, more pure, more beautiful. So this dichotomy of drone and artisan, painter and poet, hopeless idealist, taxpayer, is always in conflict. Thus, my struggle. I am lucky the muse screams at me, but it is tough to find balance at all. It is not a real struggle, as it is self imposed. I can and always have done both, as I must, keep my feet on the ground and my head in the stars, always trying to find the big picture and apply it to the smallest parts of my limited reality. So the song is about the above conflict, of looking at life on a macro, and living in the micro. guess I gotta pay my taxes.

A Prayer for the Human Condition
God of grace and light Are we born with hate or do we pick it up somewhere along the way and like a stone that we kick down the road can we just throw it away can we discard our hate?
The absence of hate is the salvation of humanity The end of war The end of poverty poverty
The absence of love is the destruction of reality No end to war No end to poverty, poverty

for my friend Anne Liljengren, who passed away suddenly about one year ago. She was one of the closest friends that I ever had; she always had my heart in mind, she was always there for me, for 20 years we spoke on the phone almost every day. I find it so hard to lose her, and I miss her so much I just can't even explain. If she can hear me she knows that this song comes from love. She was really something special. 100% free spirit and I mean that in the best way possible, for she loved so many. Her smile could light up your day like a sunbeam. At her funeral there was over 1000 people. She was made of light. She worked on her own cars, she always helped others with what ever she could. She loved country music. She was my friend.
Always Knew Just What To Say words and music by Chris Pendergraft
Everyday, cross my mind like a sunrise in my kitchen You were always right on time you always knew just what to say
And I miss you but somehow I know that you know And it kills me but I know you knew that you had to go
Let me tell you about a girl made of light From the forest north western side give her last dollar if you ask her for a dime And on her heart no man could put a price no man could put a price

what's gone is gone what is black is black what we’ve all lost we will never get back
ain’t all about heart break more about the memories think about all the days think about how they made you feel
Sorrow passes over no one in this middle world and Loss is Love and Life is quite mixed up
We pray for a soft crash we pray for a soft crash
All truth is of loss or so its been said but I just think about all the days that I've had I think about the sunshine about the cold cold nights About the love and the life and the light of your smile
Sorrow passes over no one in this middle world and Loss is Love and Life is quite mixed up
We pray for a soft crash we pray for a soft crash

We are so Many by Chris Pendergraft the last train is right on time we pick a seat and avert our eyes
dont dare to think there is something more to life it’s plane to see there nothing more its all just the bottom line
The building climb up to the sky Do thier Best to Block the light
A Stranger takes a change to drift His eyes Across the Isle And in return his gaze is met with an expected smile He looks away as if that spark never took its place The smile is gone, the train moves on it's all too much to face...

The project is "The Torchfire Heart". it is a two act musical stage play I have been writing for a few years. It makes associations to love being the guiding torchlight that we are given, and that war, profit and vanity are the means of it's destruction.
I am releasing act 1 today as a way to incentivize the players who have given time to me for this work. And I hope to start a little buzz on the idea. The piece itself is akin to "Dark Side of the Moon" in that it works with themes and reoccurring ideas about love and hate, and the entire piece works as one larger message.

For my best friend, lover and wife of 17 years Kimberly. You are always where I want to be, even if I am not with you. I adore you.
Maybe you got to want to leave So that you can see what you need Out of time and out of breath I've missed the damn bus again And if I left would anyone even see There I go I'm down again waiting for the train again Waiting for someone to gently change my way
Well I guess I am still trying just to find my way I got a half-chance feeling I'll make it someday It doesn't really mater as long as I got you You count on me baby like the wind and the sun I can't see why I deserve all your love and that is why I will always find my way Home
Waiting for the lock to turn Can't stand another day and I know that it is my turn my turn to come home to stay I know i ain't nothing without you baby and I know you are everything I need
Well I guess I am still trying just to find my way I got a half-chance feeling I'll make it someday It doesn't really mater as long as I got you You count on me baby like the wind and the sun I can't see why I deserve all your love and that is why I will always find my way Home

Poverty(Before We Rest) I guess this world's got no time for love Extend a Hand to another man
What would we would be when we see there is nothing to fight When will see we have children in the streets children sleeping in the streets
We must never forget We have miles to go Before we Rest We must never forget We have miles to go Before we Rest
poverty an pandemic tragety some say a nessesity of the architecture of hypocracy for every system must have a foundation from which great towers of glass a steel rise and as the towers grow and grow the people just fall deeper and deeper into poverty
then poverty becomes a state of mind a value that person has been assigned by a society that dose not equally fund the educational facilities of the most in need creating a multi generational identity that cant express it self past poverty

Language does not always translate perfectly. music by Gyula Bódis with Chris Pendergraft KONOKUNOK @discratebye cover art by Chris Pendergraft https://www.facebook.com/PendergraftIllustration/?ref=hl The "Jew's Harp" instrument is considered to be one of the oldest musical instruments in the world; a musician apparently playing it can be seen in a Chinese drawing from the 4th century BC. This instrument is native to Asia and used in all tribes of Turkic peoples in Asia, among whom it is variously referred to as a temir komuz (literally, iron komuz), agiz komuzu (literally, mouth komuz), gubuz or dorm.
KONOKUNOK is a Hungarian musician who I have known for a few years. Although I have featured him on my radio show, this is our first time working together on a track. I had an intensely fun time rerouting his harp through my wah pedal and getting all tripped out with this ancient instrument. @discratebye Check out Gyula Bódis, his music is truly amazing, ancient yet very modern in its usage. A True Talent!

This song is about the garden of Earth.
Lost In The Garden What we got is hard enough for anyone to see When your living in a garden how can you see through all the trees We put our minds outside Outside of this place we push our will outside to bending time and space With each day we take a step to end There is a tipping point a balancing we can not bend With each day we forget to take our turn There is no place to go when there’s no place to return
Guess It Real Real Real Damn Simple As is always was Guess It Real Real Real Damn Simple As is always was
What we got is just enough just enough to breath will we spend our our last few breathes cutting down our trees We put our minds outside outside of this place in vain pursuit of profit our garden fades away With each day we take a step to end There is a tipping point a balancing we can not bend With each day we forget to take our turn There is no place to go when there’s no place to return

Dare to Dream It takes a lot to pull it off to hit your mark when no one is looking It's harder still to not lose your will when your strength is fading
And I know you try so hard Each and every day Trying to pull it all off so you can find your way but if you could just see you from behind my eyes you'd see it's your time Life is waiting
Simply Dare to Dream Sometimes we must just believe There are mysteries Each One waits wishing to be free In each question an answer wrapped inside to life unfolding of each day It's not our to know but just wonder why But what we do is only ours to say
DARE TO DREAM TO RISE ABOVE TO SEE THE ROAD THAT IS IN FRONT TO FIND THAT PLACE DEEP INSIDE THAT TAKES YOU PAST THE FEAR THAT BINDS DARE TO DREAM TO RISE ABOVE THAT PLACE OF FEAR YOUR RUNNING FROM DARE TO DREAM TO FIND A PLACE OF PEACE LIFE IS WAITING

latest from EchoCosmic. This song is dedicated to the children who are fleeing war zones all over this planet and to the families that are sacrificing to house and feed these young humans who are in dire need. Please open you heart and help in any way that you can- don't turn away.
lyrics: Run Child Run Until this day has ended Fear no one From the rain take your shelter Turn your face up to the sun let the warm light guide you On through this dark dark storm you'll find a away I promise you Through the shadows Do not fear You will make it on your own Love is your path lets its hands guide to a place in the Sun

This song I wrote about a year ago. Its a song inspired by a story I heard from a clouder, about WWII war babies; and very heavily by Bowie. Once David died, I have been in the mixer retaking vocals, adding parts and trying to find a perfect mix. ©2016 Chris Pendergraft

IN 45 the west wind blew The war Came to an end The Summertime The Country side There Enough time to begin
Few are born under perfect skies life adapts stars align Love finds a way through
A soldier's fate Is measured in days In the moment The is only today But in a moment The war can change
The greatest gardens Start with the single seed But Love during wartime Could never be easy You take what you can You take what you can reach But Life never gives More then just what life needs

This song is a work in progress, have a collaborator working on this, but I just wanted to get it out before Christmas. This is a wonderful time for me personally. I have two children and have been blessed with a large family that get along with love for the most part. I know this is a gift. I have spent many a Christmas alone and away and I can say my life is always good at Christmas. I feel this feeling of gratitude all year round, I struggle to keep my compassion in check but we all have low points. The news and all the noise can overwhelm us with stress, but just letting love guide you is extremely important even if its just being polite and working on the idea that we are all the same people. Right now I can't stop thinking about the impact of the wars in the middle east and how we can make space for these people in such dire need. So since I don't have a whole lot of money I write songs with messages of love and compassion, it may have no effect but it is what I am best at and with all the hype about money and fear and glamour in music I think we need to find a balance with a humble attempt to make the world better, not make ourselves more famous or wealthy.
So Many Voices
I can do what I need to do tell me can you do the same? it's so damn easy for this world to be cruel I think we need a brighter day
So may voices are crying out we must not turn our heads away So may voices are crying out we must not turn our heads away
Open your heart I know it's easier to do then say It hard to find the light in this dark dark world I think we need a brighter day

Translation by Chris It rained on my Paris friend the other night They came to the enemies of life off the light the eyes of our children Tears of Blood
But always dance to Paris The spirit of the dance festival Our ghosts will dance full of life Nothing ever stops
It rained on my Paris friend the other night Puffy stupidity and hate monsters spit their venom deadly They stole lives It rained in Paris the other night my friend Obscurantism and stony hearts Our tears of sorrow and shake our fists
But always dance to Paris The spirit of the dance festival Our ghosts will dance full of life Nothing ever stops
It rained in Paris It rained on my Paris friend the other night A bloody absurdity rain, a backward
But Paris Paris gets up and turns For who resists Paris, has always resisted And always overcame the worst atrocities
And dance again Paris Dance the spirit of the festival Our dancing ghosts full of life Nothing ever stops
Paris more than ever enamored of beauty Freedom-loving and brotherhood Loving culture and vibrant love Paris more than ever found its flame rekindled his lights And beautiful music life resumed And she runs and runs it On squares and in its streets, its wide avenues

Tell me what's the total weight of the human soul and if you can equate what would trade in gold and if you don't think my question makes any sense were trading lives everyday for dollars and cents.
What's it going to take for the world to change? For use to See we share the same fate?
EchoCosmic is proud to release this track for the Mystics. @cowboy_mystics ©2015 Cowboy Mystics words and music written b Chris Pendergraft "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!" from my county's statue of liberty
Syria words by Chris Pendergraft Its not okay like it should be and everybody knows we should all do something sometimes when we do anything twice as good as doing next to nothing
Open up your heart we've so many mouths to feed Dont let the world tear apart thinking you could not do anything
Sometimes Slowmotion Distant Across an ocean Why Should I do Why Should I do Anything?
©2015 EchoCosmic words and music by Chris Pendergraft
Mind Is Like A Freeway
Sometime it gets serious then you smile Sometimes the code gets delirious I can not compile Find a word that seperates my constant state of my participation Each day a brand new page I'd right it down if I had the patience
Sometime my mind is like a freeway never go nowhere noway anyway So I wait till night when I can sleep make up some time while the people sleep while the people sleep while the people sleep
Why are these people just running around this ain't what life is really about unpack my mind and I am gonna slow down slow down slow down
Haunted words and music and artwork by Chris Pendergraft for EchoCosmic ©2015
Haunted
Wander in through these days Wonder what sense can we make
take a chance on the thought that today wont be just like yesterday its is only that makes the difference what we take from the past don't need to be all the bad things for it is you that writes the future
Haunted look behind and you never going to find it Look ahead or you're never going to know Haunted look behind and you never going to find it Look ahead or you're never going to know
wrap the past in oridinary paper like a brown bag, descret container And in closet stack to the ceiling and to each package she attaches a feeling
why live haunted Pass through the stone Why live restless Pass through the stone
Aint No cage gonna bind you like you bind you it like you spend your day staring at the sun its not like the past is gonna find you it will blind you when you spend you nights waiting for someone
why live haunted Pass through the stone Why live restless Pass through the stone
No Life Is Perfect words and music ©2015 Chris Pendergraft for EchoCosmic
if she could get some help she’d be okay if she could get some help she’d be okay
Its like the radio when the troubles come do you turn it off no I turn it up I turn it up
if she could get some help she’d be okay if she could get some help she’d be okay
So tell me do you know where the troubles go do you let them go no I dont let them go I can’t let them go
if she could get some help she’d be okay if she could get some help she’d be okay
It’s not that you should let go The World is bigger then we can see You must know by now No life is perfect We only see what we can see
if she could get some help she’d be okay if she could get some help she’d be okay
Its like the radio when the troubles come do you turn it off no I turn it up I turn it up
if she could get some help she’d be okay if she could get some help she’d be okay

Devotion
How deep is the ocean as deep as my devotion nothing could take that away
Dark days they will come they will find a way to our door we must not let them in Sometime we realize all that we have is time
Oh Such devotion Oh Such devotion
Words and Music and Artwork ©2015 Chris Pendergraft (with help from Jimi) All parts recorded and performed by Chris Pendergraft
Jimi Hendrix literally taught me how to play music. Before I could get down on the guitar I heard 'Red House' and that was it, I had never heard anything so beautiful ever. Some thirty five years have past since that song came into my life and I can not explain how important he has been to my development as a musician. I really tried to listen to what he was laying on me and I felt a connection to him that I had never had in my life. I have maintained that connection with out pause and consider every song I do from the ears of Jimi, as if he could help me to understand what the mix wanted to be. Its not just guitar playing, it's arrangement and production that have rarely been bested when you look at the amazing body of work he recorded in the short time he had= he gave everything, and imagining a world without him - well I would have never been writing this now. So this is not a Jimi Hendrix composition, but I can say with honesty that he still lives through our dedication to his work, and I offer this as tribute and thanks to James Marshall Herdricks, who died 29 days before my birth, and who gave us so much in so little time.
This artwork I painted in preparation to record this song that I wrote in dedication to Jimi Herdrix.
If I still had Baby ©2015 Chris Pendergraft for EchoCosmic this is for my buddy j, who lost his girl. She was my close friend, and he is so hurting.
Guess I'm doing fine Now that the storm is over I be doing all right If I still had baby
When all hope is gone Not much remains at least the music stays the same
So I was dared to make a song for a odd post about a man who killed his imaginary friend. @spagettihillbies thank you!

The Ballad Of Mr Happy words and music by Chris Pendergraft for EchoCosmic. ©2015 EchoCosmic Take a submarine into the deepest place darkness is what you will see Another dollar for a pint if gin I guess we should have seen this coming
OH! What worries the stars? They Move with certain precision
Take me to the laundry mat so I can do my thing Watch the world spin around Another quarter for another spin I should have seen this all begin
OH! what worries the stars They move With certain precision
I just kill my imaginary friend cuz he took my keys Oh lord what have I done? I turned my self into the station in Tallahassee They Don't believe what I have done
Take a submarine into the deepest place darkness is what you will see Another dollar for a pint if gin I guess we should have seen this coming
Here we are again With all of our friends
Take a submarine into the deepest place darkness is what you will see Another dollar for a pint if gin I guess we should have seen this coming
OH! What worries the stars? They Move with certain precision
This is a song about keeping a high mind on how small we are and dealing with the problems we face; they may seem minimal if we examine the macro, but they sometimes seem to have a greater effect upon us then gravity.

Dissolver(LBH)
Straighten the road I cant take these curves they twist they trun every leading to the end
We draw those boundries What stars have lines? they move in orbits greater then all the time
space it is expanding faster then light space it is contracting faster then time
what's the matter with your long black hair now? what's the matter with your long black hair now?
space it is expanding faster then light space it is expanding faster then light
If Wishes Were Stars And Men Could Name Them words and music ©2015 Chris Pendergraft for EchoCosmic
Raindrops fill the sea
If Time was a castle I would destroy it But I guess that its not not that important
If wishes were stars and men could name them they’d fill them with envy they’d fill them with envy
When I was a child I could see them Those who could not make their peace Over the years they speak through me those who could not leave this place
Let’s Take the Rain and we’ll chase it through the forest Let’s take the rain like we never seen it before What good is life without wonder Lets raise our faces above
If raindrops were tears of a distant creator The bittersweet taste of the soft salty sky from oceans of sorrow we wisper for wisdom from shores of the humble we reach for the sky
Some wish for peace some wish for vengence some wish for profit beyond comprehension
Dedicated to all who have lost someone they love and to the strength it takes to keep living when so much of who we are is defined by the love we have in our lives and the time we have to share it.

She Remains
That’s all the time we had she said then she drifted towards the light I guess It never really happend like that But I guess that would be nice
the day after she died well it rain all through the night it tried to wash her away it tried to wash her away
She remains She remains
All that we have Is the time that we have That is all we have That is all we have
Today(Nothing Perfect) Dedicated to the memory of my sweet friend Anne Liljengren. I was writing this track about her as we lost her last week.
So important to take each day we are given and do the most we can with it. You can't move a mountain in a day but you can in a lifetime.
I really wish she could have heard it. Love you Annie.
Today(Nothing Perfect) ©2015 EchoCosmic words and music by Chris Pendergraft
Awake, Alone No more Above a cold gold sky The train it moves far from All the things she left behind
Go to go gotta roll do loose your momentum Missed the train its okay wait for the next one
Wait for the next one
Today She knows there's nothing perfect in this whole damn world she okay At least I got my self that's more then what I had
Sometime we all fall down Just so we can work it out ITs a slippery slope when you think You Know got it all worked out Everyone's gotta find their way And no two day are quite the same I know it seems that way , its seems like all days are the same its seems like all days are the same its seems like all days are the same
Today She knows there's nothing perfect in this whole damn world she okay At least I got my self that's more then what I had
Hope it is this sunrise stretched across this golden sky She waits for no more signals She waits for no more signs

for more Night Kitchen Check out this link https://soundcloud.com/chris-pendergraft/sets/the-night-kitchen-focus-tracks Used to Feel
Used to tell me baby that you loved me everyday But something in between has gotten into way Please Don't you feel How you used to Feel
Used to be the sunshine That brightened everyday but every since you're gone the Night never goes away Please Don't you feel How you used to Feel
Used to take the night And turn them into days Stagger through the week Until we were both in a haze But some where along the way we suddenly seem to take a change. As if the course correction had led us to a maze Now its up or down left or right I do know but without you love I have no place to go no place to go
A Kiss in The Shadow words by an anonymous donor, who has requested to remain silent, and a few lines by Chris Pendergraft music by Chris Pendergraft more to come on this track iI promise.
She smells of cinnamon She smells of dirt When she bleeds, it's me she hurts Her psychedelic nervous breakdown Keeps me tied up more like tied down
She is waiting in the shadows She is dripping with perfection All the honey in her love Keeps me from losing all her attention.
Kiss me my love before you go but never ever ever look back don't look back
words and music ©2015 Chris Pendergraft
I can not see it but i can feel it there is a reason why I am leaving
All the lights they’re like sparkles on a surfboard like the stars got stuck in the ground I wonder if anything is real in this whole damn town
In the shimmer it flickers and sways in the embrace a suburbian haze The eyes are drifting locked in a gaze we wonder why we came here at all
Sometime we can't get a break The Glitter Blinds We lose our faith No place to Hide In The Shade Coming up on my escape To run from sunshine there is no place No place to Hide In The Shade
All the lies its like sand on the sea shore Everyone's got something to say I guess i'd be fine I guess I'd do alright If I was A good man today
I guess that means I'm leaving I guess that mean I can't stay I guess it means I leaving Im going away today
Sometime we can't get a break The Glitter Blinds We lose our faith No place to Hide In The Shade Coming up on my escape To run from sunshine there is no place No place to Hide In The Shade
I can not see it but i can feel it there is a reason
I can not see it but i can feel it there is a reason why I am leaving
I can not see it but i can feel it there is a reason why I am leaving

I wroteThis for Joni for Imperial Honey Joni then created some new lyrics and I hope to get her recorded at some point. For now this is my original version To which I wrote and performed all. Inspired by a very heavy conversation with Joni Allen.
Still got a lot to learn about this life machine like who to love and who to trust Guess I got nothing left to loose except my soul Just dont want watch my life to turn to rust
So don't you waste another day with me baby I know you were never here anyway Talk is Cheap and I've got to trust myself Gotta put you behind me
little help sometimes is all we need little wind in the sail Ive shown this world I can take its beating just dont want to bring it down on myself But what does love have to do with kindness Gotta open up my eyes We only get one time around Gotta put you out of my sight
So don't you waste another day with me baby I know you were never here anyway Talk is Cheap and I've got to trust myself Gotta put you behind me
Words and Music by Chris Pendergraft ©2015 Chris Pendergraft, ASCAP
Some people think that strength is just a word that people say But it takes strength to make it through these days She packs her bags for the second time this day She hope she has the strength inside to finally make a change
what she has is not what she has got she's finally on her way to find out what she has lost
Bad Love is not any better then No Love Of that I'm certain Sometimes you've got to find A way to find another home
Some people need help to make through each day They pray to Angels To lighten their weight She checks her mirrors And slowly pulls away
what she has is not what she has got she's finally on her way to find out what she has lost
Bad Love is not any better then No Love Of that I'm certain Sometimes you 've got to find A way to find another home
Bad Love is not any better then No Love Of that I'm certain Sometimes you've got to find A way to find another home

Echo and Narcissus Words and Music by Chris Pendergraft for EchoCosmic
So how does a song take place? My secret weapon is my visual mind. The name EchoCosmic is not a name I picked, rather it found me. I inverted it, CosmicECho from the microwave signature left over from the big bang. Then it name meaning of the phrase was given meaning to me by another kind soul. That lead me down the path of defining what I was focusing in on, Echo, a wood nymph, a lost soul, lost to another's vanity and her own want for connection to a creature of such beauty. I thought deeper still about Narcissus, lost deep in his own gaze. There is a lesson on both sides, about what we attach our selves to and why. This song is a year in the making in some ways as thoughts grow and evolve, the idea of EchoCosmic evolved in me, take from everything, drink of the cosmos, of everything. Be honest in your values and have integrity in the course of your inspiration. A different story would emerge from Echo, had she taken a different course, or never tried to show the young hunter his beauty, or rather deeper still, his perceived beauty.
So the painting came first, I had looked at Waterhouse, and as many references as I could, I saw Echo fading away- I imagined her translucent but then I shied away from that visual. I saw her floating above Narcissus as lost as he. In one of the stories he withers away and she is left to spend her days pinning away on his passing. Wasted love, wasted focus, still a valid parable so many years later.

I wrote this, kinda, its an improv, but I did take several takes, once I had established my motifs; this was take 5. I uploaded it and Thomas heard it and I asked him to jump on -this is the result. An Improve in Eb Minor with Thomas Brunkard on Viol and me on Piano @thomasbrunkard 5 thousand miles apart. kinda awesome.

Soft hands Strong hands Hands that build a life One in the other Until the end of time Sound great on paper But its hard to find the time When you’ve built a life around eachother
This is a super fun song I did with MOAG- (Paris)I had done the basic tracks and I knew I had a solid tune, but I asked MOAG @man-on-a-grill and a few others for some advice to update to a more spacey track. Before i knew it MOAG had turned around so amazing vocals and keys, and a new idea on the arrangement. So after a few weeks, this is the tune we both signed off on.
The City Has Teeth Words by Chris Pendergraft Music by Chris Pendergraft and MOAG Produced by Chris et MOAG (Merci Manu, mom ami!)
Well He came from suburbian inner-space Headed to the palace to show off his face all the trans, tricks and freaks they could not get enough Of the sci-fi tramp with the white hot love Well he took a rocket ship to the end of the block and when he opened his eyes he was in the same damn spot Hey man didn't know this train could fly But he was born with stars in his eyes
Look Out The city has teeth All you pretty people You know the city it needs to eat
Well Why she came here is not why she stayed She took a room in the tenderloin Three years ago today She's got a bullet-proof-vest And a shortage on love She's a sci-fi cop on the way to a bust Well she's coming up the stairs Like they are not even there She kicking in the door And there's smoke every where Well a flash from the camera The bullets start to fly Well she knows that she's too young to die
Look Out The city has teeth All you pretty people You know the city it needs to eat

The Good Ones words by Chris Pendergraft Music By Chris Pendergraft and Thomas Brunkard @thomasbrunkard
Thomas is my new friend from Dublin, and wow can he play. I really enjoy hanging with him online and over the last few months we have been working on some songs. This is a tune I knew he would contribute some amazing guitar work to. After i heard it it I said "wow" and he kindly said "I wanted to make it hard to see where I came in or what I did" One of the amazing THINGS I have found in collaboration is how people check their egos at the door for the song, if you really want to serve the tune. It's a huge thing for me to figure out, being such a control freak, and such an isolationist in my personal life. I'm still working on it. Well this song is about just what it soundS like, about loss, and continuing after loss. We all will face it, and we all must continue.
The Good Ones Life is not fare what more can she say But you’ve so much love Im sure you’ll do okay She closes the window Turns out the light Kisses her daughter tells her goodnight
Sometime life it takes the good ones Takes them far from our lives No matter how deep our wisdom We will never know just why
She goes down the stairs Turns out the light KIssess his picture Then starts to cry Life can't be easy But why is it so hard She feels so empty But she must carry on
This song is dedicated to my friend Thomas and his lovely new child. I was waiting to hear from Thomas yesterday, as labour began, and I wrote this song. I had the riff going in my head about a week, but as usual I write about what is going through my head. As a father it brought me back to my son's birth, and complex array of thoughts emerged; thinking of Thomas and Verena bringing another soul to this garden of souls. What light awaits those brand new eyes, the earth is a garden, a garden of souls.

300 Days Words and Music by Chris Pendergraft
This day they’re up at 5 that two hours before the sunrise On this very cold winter day They’re headed for the hospital again This time he says it’ll be different This time he’ll be okay Its not that she’s low on faith its just that there are bills that must be paid And she’s faced so many days like this one…
All these thought run through his mind He can’t bear to turn and face her worried eyes There nothing in this life that can prepare a man For such a morning drive
300 days since that drive And now she sleeps by his side 300 days Of borrowed time each day a gift from heaven
Each day is not like the last day thats just a game that we play To keep us pushing through the days Why try when its never been harder to just get bay and why’s it all on me to make the change? Each day is not like the last day thats just a game that we play To keep us pushing through the days
300 days since that drive And now she sleeps by his side 300 days Of borrowed time each day a gift from heaven
I am 100% Girl Power!But- I write this for every person male or female that struggles with the faith to work towards their dreams. But for my mom, my daughter, and my wife this is an anthem of faith that you can, and have showed me, how to believe in your self and work to making your dreams a reality. I love you all- and this world needs more women in power sharing and in the leadership roles all over this world.
She's A RocketShip words and music by Chris Pendergraft
She stops just shy oF hoping But inside something's growing A thought that she could make her way if she could Find the faith Inside Her faith is glowing Such a pure light The world can not deny
She is a RocketShip She Is Blasting off She Headed For the Moon Gonna Take it all off Take off the Fear Take off the doubt Show this whole world What its all about
Dreams are Made of stars And So Are we And So Are we

His vocals will scare you. Barry Snaith - Electric guitar par excellence - Conall you'd enjoy what he did on this with his FX woven mastery. Close your eyes That what my life was like before I had your love Did you ever catch a train as it was pulling away do your best to escape this ordiary place Raise your eyes to the sky the try to find a glimpse of a reason for life and why you are living You You're my reason You're my reason
In Your Eyes My future With you there is just moving forward In Your Eyes My future With you there is just moving forward
Deep End Words and Music by Christopher Pendergraft
I get drifty need to go down to thrifty get me a 5 cent cone call my grandam on the pay phone explain the difference between neat and nifty before she fades and I feel empty I just about forget gravity is always attempting to win till the day it gives in, gives up As sky opens up and sucka you up or maybe it down Dependent on your philosophical opinon Well I like to think its an omnidirection dispercement from what I was to that I witch will be Before I was I absent of being, then I becaem I dont mean to come at you like that I know that shit is deep We just met but I got a feeling you can feel The base space I attempt as I said I get difty then again I said I get drifty
I get dizzy need to go out side play some frizbee throw the dog a bone or call my pall geezee Shoot he’d be here too if he was not out chasing that glue Hell he got many mouths to feed mouths that live mouth that breath when those mouths close then it time to dream about what it is and what it will be and those are the dreams that lead to inifinity But inifinity is not a time or just some endless space Its like all the moments That could ever be All stacked up In just one place if you can dig on that then maybe you can see There is just one moment And the now is infinity
I get busy need to deal with all this stuff stack up around me I am a valley Those items are the mountains that surround me I must me a mountain climber like a shrepa in the andies Climb up to the summit So that I can clerarly see All this mess is just illutionary We are the children of Infinity
For a dear friend, and for all of you.
She Is Leaving Him words and Music by Christopher Pendergraft

Love Star Based on concept by Joni Allen Words by Chris Pendergraft and Joni Allen Music by Barry Snaith and Chris Pendergraft and Joni Allen
Why pull the stars from the sky You know the reason why The milk way could not compare You were born to shine Bath me in the warm glow of your light you're the only star in the sky Tonight
Final Edit for Release. This song is from the heart-inspired by a dear old friend, and a life-altering post on Facebook by a new friend, that made me rethink healing. No matter who you are at some point you will or have gotten hurt, in some way by this world. Sometimes, even often, we create this damage with our own actions, but not always; sometimes we are victims of the actions of others. When you start the healing process, as you were designed to do, things, life itself may seem different, I have always felt those moments in my life I could actually taste the hope, the promise that I would be better off tomorrow then I was yesterday, or today. Life is a constant healing process. The most important thing is not to close off to the world, but to open to the world and all that is waiting to be discovered in life when we do engage it. Never easy, but the reward is unmatched when you tap in to your potential as a person and as a connected being, not a master of your craft, but as master of you life; that life, shared with all the other souls, in this traveling circus of Earth. All of us together, healing each other and ourselves. Not a dream, just a necessity and really our true destiny.
The Difference In The Day Words and Music by Chris Pendergraft
When the healing starts You see the difference in the day As if the light has changed In some subtle way As if its missing many shades of grey But what happens next Is Clearly up to you
So give yourself enough time To let the healing start with inside you deep inside of you Keep and Open heart and an open mind to what the universe has chose to hide in you Deep inside you
A child leans her head against the seat, on a dark evening, on her way home. Through the tree she see the grand bright moon rising, it chases along the car as if moving. It giant shape at first it broken by the negative space of branches, the child's eyes widen as it round shape takes for, as the car rolls down the road it keeps pace, ever present. Sound familiar? A common childhood memories these days I am sure. this was my first thought when starting the piece from there- I can't say Trushka knew- maybe she inferred from the title I presented. Many weeks of passing tracks back and forth- like a dance, until now it seems to bleed together as we shared a room. I would say this work more then any other for me represents the true potential of this community. Artst across the planet coming together to make shared work. this is a TRUE 50/50 COLLABORATION that could have gone on for years like and long chess match- except her and I were on the same team, so bette then chess. we will continue to work together - unless - I am hit by a comet.
now about @trushkadelic trushkadelic Amazing dutch music genius- if you have not heard her music - then you are missing out on a truly unique musical entity. Her sense of texture and mix is unprecedented- use has spent years writing her solo stuff, recording dutch bands, and with her won live band. It was an honor to work alongside her.
Thank you for listening.
Imperial Honey Is my new project with a singer from LA who wants to stay quiet until she is complete. I hope you all really enjoy the next few tracks we release. This is my demo for the track.

Bare feet on the Dashboard words and music by Chris Pendergraft
Bare feet on the dashboard Wind pushes hair From side to side Where ever our worries are We’ve left them far beind Because today we chase the sun As far as we can take it For tomorrow may bring the rain But that's Okay
We'll take this day and save it In permanent memory If we had a way to change it We would not change a thing
You look at me with those half closed eyes you got that face tightened in a smile You blow those rings One at a time You hope that you can hypnotize
I know you hoping that I'll forget Im leaving I know your hoping that all has been forgiven I know you hoping that I'll forget Im leaving I know your hoping that all has been forgiven
Guess it worked one time Better try another time But all you do is tell lies But all you do is tell lies
Guess it worked one time Better try another time But all you do is tell lies But all you do is tell lies
All I can do Is take myself Away from you All I can do Is take myself Away from you
I know you hoping that I'll forget Im leaving I know your hoping that all has been forgiven I know you hoping that I'll forget Im leaving I know your hoping that all has been forgiven
SEVEN BILLION SOULS words and Music by Chris Pendergraft
Open Your Mind to the Cosmic Dust Makes No Difference Who You Trust Once Your Mind Is Free From Fear All The Option Become Clear We Were Designed for an infinite ride So Free Your Mind and make way FOR THE NEW WORLD We Were Designed for an infinite ride So Free Your Mind and make way FOR THE NEW WORLD This is not a dream this is just what it seems
Seven Billion Souls that we all need to feed We seal our fate Justify our hate Propigate our fears that force a seperation A delineation of out salvation We’re on vacation From the reality of our situation We digging trenches Building those fences Digging ourselves deeper into malformed perceptions

Love During War (1945) words and music by Chris Pendergraft
IN 45 the west wind blew The war Came to an end Summertime Coutry side There Enouhg time to begin
Few are born under perfect skies life adapts stars align Love finds a way Through
A soilger’s fate Is meaured in days In the moment The is only today But in a moment The war can change
The greatest gardens Start with the single seed But Love durring wartime Could never be easy You take what you can You take waht you can reach Bute we never can get More then just what life needs
The garden's grown for many years through many winters many tears it raises its branches to the sun
Life adapts and who knows why The hands of fate they do not guide its more that they push life along
The greatest gardens Start with the single seed But Love durring wartime Could never be easy You take what you can You take waht you can reach Bute we never can get More then just what life needs

Words and Music by Chris Pendergraft
A little blues for your Sunday, unless you hear it on Monday-
So a friend said I could not write a 'happy' song - I said 'All my songs are happy', he replied 'and not sarcastic!' I'm like what sarcasm? Here is the result so I hope you all like it. Was walking with my kids to get a smoothie and it was just an amazing day, and I said something to the effect of "If this were the last day on earth, it would not be a bad way to go out" something my mother would say when I was growing up. So I was like hey, f-you dude- I can do this- so In your face- dear friend.
Last Day On Earth words and music by Chris Pendergraft
Last day on Earth I guess we could do worse The sunshine is shining through These clouds of gray Nothing could change This perfect day
I Guess I've had a good life I hope you can say the same Take today, as if it was your last day
Its so easy to get so caught up In the things that we need We can never have enough We walk on through these Turnstile days There must be more to this last day
I Guess I've had a good life I hope you can say the same Take today, as if it was your last day
I Guess I've had a good life I hope you can say the same Take today, as if it was your last day
Last song for heavy mellow.
Like You Used To Feel words and music by Chris Pendergraft
Used to tell me baby That you love me every day But something in between Has gotten in the way Baby Please Don't you feel? Like you used to feel?
Used to be the sunshine that brighten everyday But ever since you're gone The night never goes away
Please don't you feel? Like you used to feel
Used to take the night and turn them into days Stagger through the week until we were both in a haze But some where along the way We just suddenly seemed To take a change As if the course correction Had lead us to a maze Now its up or down or left or right I do not know For without your love I've no place to go No No place to go.

Alex sent me a version of Moonrover, he had sped up the bpm to 120 and it had altered the key, so I was cool with that then he sent me stems and I was like fuck Moonrover, I'm going to write an arrangement around his playing- Since he had written it over moon rover his tempo was spot-on and It was easy to cut his riffs up into a few motifs and then write and melodic and rhythmic theme- Its when people play free time my brain goes ape shit. Im a metronome, so I need to play with a fixed tempo, or I pull left and right- anyway here is the first pass on an arrangement I am calling "under a gypsy moon"

This is the first track of the sound cloud-based band called 'The Night Kitchen', that, perhaps, may eventually have many members. WeightyTree and I started the first pass of this song and then along came MARIA- she saw lyrical potential, when I did not- So on her own, she downloaded the song, wrote vocals, lyrics and recorded it, then sent it to me. I was really happy with the results, so much so we have stated this collective 'The Night Kitchen', based on making night music exclusively. We hope to invite many artist to join us in collaboration. Where this will take use we are not sure, so for now we have a purpose and that is Enough- https://soundcloud.com/the-night-kitchen https://soundcloud.com/mariashiel https://soundcloud.com/theweightytree https://soundcloud.com/chris-pendergraft
"Endless Game" by The Night Kitchen Music By Mark Todd, Chris Pendergraft, and Maria Shiel Lyrics and Vocals by Maria Shiel
I shudder through the streets tonight Take cover from the bleeding lights Around the bend I see those who stand With a dangerous care And a slight of hand
Take motion Before the seas will dry Your lips will burn And your bones will cry Well around the bend I see hungry hands Reaching out for more in this restless land
In this endless In this endless game In this endless In this endless game
All music recorded, performed and written by Chris Pendergraft
Happy Sunday Earth-
Wanna know the key to my groove?? Dance. I play bass and dance till I find the groove with the drum part I am feeling. Sometime I may re-record the drums, but when the drums and bass lock up, and the feel is there- it all writes it self. Serious-Even my rock stuff...all about the feel.
Get the FUCK up and dance - don't ever just stand there, or sit on your ass and play your guitar- - if the music moves you let it move your body, and tap in to the universal rhythms that abound. Serious.
Much Love-Chris
Words and Music by Chris Pendergraft
She is like Cleopatra Eyes of cat and lips of wine When he is handgun out She is always feeling fine- But when he goes away She does not feel okay She knows she needs the space And that everything will be okay
Everything has its place
He is just like Anthony Eyes so gray and a will So Strong Where ever he must go She is his only song So when he goes away She does not do okay He knows they need the space And everything will be okay
Everything has its place
Words and Music by Chris Pendergraft
She is like Cleopatra Eyes of cat and lips of wine When he is handgun out She is always feeling fine- But when he goes away She does not feel okay She knows she needs the space And that everything will be okay
Everything has its place
He is tall like Napoleon He's got mustard on his vest When he walks he is staggering Cuz he knows that he's the best He talks like an American Apple pie on his face But in this great big word everything has its place
Everything has its place

This is just a little warm up- I play piano- kinda suck but I love it- What an amazing device.
If want a stripped down copy to play with let me know Ill drop the guitar and xylophone out- Cheers C
Iwrote the lyrics for this song a few months ago. I was having trouble, and I went to speak to my Father, I feel so full of music it drives me to exhaustion, and I asked my dad if I was crazy, he looked at me with such assurance, like this was the most stupid question I could ask. Sometimes that all a father needs to be is just a grounding force for even an adult child.
When my son was born I prayed for one thing, not talent or wealth, not for him to be a great man, but I prayed for him to be a goodman. That is what this world needs.
Just Another Father's Dream Words and music by Chris Pendergraft
Father’s gaze Mother’s Pride He looks down At his eyes And wonders if he’ll make the grade
Either way HE’ll raise him up Show em’ how Life can be rough and all the time He’ll guide his hand with love
maybe he’ll get be more than just a working man
It just another father’s dream that he will be a good, good man
maybe he can be more than just another working man the world just seems short on good , good men
some of us dare to dream witch can be bleak often disappointing Some of us dare to dream cuz we don’t know any better Some of us dare to dream Because we see That the world can be better
