OLD SCHOOL: Memories and Lessons Learned since 1960: Recent Episodes

Phil Kerner

Lessons from a lifetime in manufacturing. This program is not about "making parts." It's about the unique perspective you get on life when you work with your hands every day. The purpose of my program is to share the wisdom of others who are the backbone of the American Dream: The Blue-Collar guys and gals who "make the stuff" that we all use every single day. Hope you enjoy it. Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/the-tool-and-die-guy/support

Meet Mr. Dick Forbes, who began his apprenticeship in 1956...he came up in the trade when moldmaking was really just getting started. I hope you'll enjoy his take on seeing the industry go from simple milling machines to the introduction EDM, and to calculators and finally to the introduction of CNC equipment into the toolroom. Can you even imagine today having to figure out every trig problem long-hand? That's how they did it.
