Every week we’re going to dive into the world of comics and pop culture to give you some insight into the hearts, souls and minds of the creators of a brand new Comic book publisher launching in early 2019.

Just a few days ago, Disney fans from around the world gathered in Anaheim, California for “D23: The ultimate Disney fan event”. This year, D23 had been revamped to be more expansive and more immersive than ever before, offering fans access to more of what they love from across the worlds of Disney. Just the most mouse-infested comic con you can comfortably cosplay as a Furry. Let’s be honest tho, we’re only here to talk about Marvel and Star Wars. As with almost any topic you can imagine…The Rivera’s have THOUGHTS!

“Canon-be dammed! Batman:Caped Crusader is here and it’s not your daddy’s animated Batman! (well, it’s a LOT like it, but there are differences.) When Amazon Prime announced that they had a Batman cartoon dropping, fans were confused but excited, now most (not all) are just asking “when are we getting season two?!” Your Latino Dynamic Duo has watched the new show and they have thoughts! AAWA the RDJ uproar simply refuses to die down, so the fellas are now legally obligated to talk about the big bad Doom, meanwhile Charlie rides the elevator to the top floor with his much anticipated, never duplicated “Blade 4” pitch!”

Marvel is back! Deadpool & Wolverine made all the money but was it Marvels saving grace or a desperate money grab. Tune in and find out.

San Diego Comic-Con is the premier event for all things comic books and comic book connected, including movies, television, gaming, interactive multimedia, and so much more! Cosplay galore and unique programming, exclusive previews, and presentations, not to mention the expansive exhibit hall representing all fandoms. Charlie is gonna walk us though ALL of it! AAWA the Dick in the yellow hat is back and better than EVER and Jon is amped, meanwhile he’s also ready to drop some Last Starfighter Knowledge along with his elevator pitch!

The Vandals MC is roaring down the road, and Charlie and Casey are bringing up the rear! It is a rebellious time in America, the culture and people are changing almost as much as the USComicsCast’s hosts! Much like the country and podcast, the club begins to evolve, transforming from a gathering place for local outsiders into a dangerous underworld of violence. Charlie and (our special guest host) Casey have thoughts!

Following King Aegon II’s coronation and the death of Queen Rhaenyra’s son, House Targaryen is divided in two. In King’s Landing, Aegon II rules from the Iron Throne, supported by Alicent and the Green Council. From exile on Dragonstone, Queen Rhaenyra and her Black Council consider their next move. House Rivera has thoughts! AAWA, The Boys are up their ol’ hi jinx yet again, lazering crotches, hatching plans and manipulating the media like it was going out of style (it ain’t), meanwhile Charlie digs Point Break up out out of the sand to give us his PB2 elevator pitch!

“Sweet Tooth Season 3 cuts its saccharine with plenty of grimness and brutality.” Tim Stevens of The Spool says it better than anyone in hybridville. Sweet Tooth S3 wraps up a critically-beloved story-arc and these normies have thoughts! (We’re not crying, YOU’RE crying!) AAWA Charlie plays Don Draper and sells the Bad Boys 4-quel to an audience of one, meanwhile Jon looks to sell him right back with his Cyclops/Havoc elevator pitch!

Behold! The epic tale of a two-handed Furiosa! Snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers, young Furiosa falls into the hands of a great biker horde led by the warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel, presided over by a “younger” Immortan Joe & his merry bunch of handsome fellas. Does the prequel live up to Fury Road? Your boys have thoughts! AAWA The Acolyte drops on Disney + and Charlie tells us how “The POWER is YOURS” with his Captain Planet elevator pitch!

…Apes are the dominant species on Earth, and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows. As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike. Also there are Eagles. Your boys have thought. AAWA, Charlie delves deep into the most recent SPAWN movie update, while Jon connects the dots in the elevator with his Gentlemen spin-off pitch!

“In a future, post-apocalyptic Los Angeles brought about by nuclear decimation, citizens must live in underground bunkers to protect themselves from radiation, mutants and bandits”. Think that sounds like a great concept for a video game? You’re right, Fallout is a highly popular video game franchise at this point! It’s ALSO a fantastic concept for a tv show, and Amazon Prime thought so too, so they went ahead and made an absolutely outstanding show that is all the buzz right now! We are lucky enough to have one of the STARS of Fallout (the show) in Mr Leer Leary joining us for this episode. Leer plays Davey, and he’s ready to spill the tea! (or at least answer some dumb questions) and talk video game adaptations with us, and then some!

He might fall from a tall building, he might roll a brand new car, ‘cause he’s the unknown stuntman that made Gosling such a star! Emily Blunt ain’t so bad either. This week the boys caught “Fall Guy” at the cinema and they have something to say about this retro-reboot! AAWA James Gunn plays Edna Mode and gets Kai-El into is Super(man) suit, while Charlie jacks us BACK into the Matrix with his most recent elevator pitch!

The Jersey invasion of “Lawn Guyland” has begun! Jon may have been in the vanguard, but Kevin Smith & Jason Mewes are without a doubt the big guns! Huntington won’t be the same after a vicious rogering by Jay & Silent Bob! The Paramount played host to our favorite hetero life-mates, and the Rivera boys have thoughts! AAWA Skybound Entertainment and Hasbro have made a patriotic announcement and yer boys are running around yelling “Yooooooo Joe!” about it, meanwhile Jon is no savior of the universe, but he’ll take us to the top floor like a King off the impossible with his Flash Gordon 2 pitch! (And he won’t need 14 hours to do it!)

Boy Kills World… a fever dream action film that follows “Boy”, a deaf person with a vibrant imagination. When his family is murdered, he is trained by a mysterious shaman to repress his childish thoughts and become an instrument of death. Charlie… a punk that sees movies without his awesome bother Jon. Whelp, at least Jon can ask him if it’s worth watching! AAWA Jon runs his baby brother through the glass house and grills him on the Thir13en Ghosts the reside there, while Charlie shows us who the law is AGAIN, with his Dredd 2 pitch!

This week, Dev Patel pulls triple duty as Director, Star and co-writer of Monkey Man! An action thriller that debuted at South by Southwest, but is now slugging it out in movie theaters nationwide! Kid/Bobby/Monkey Man has nothing but fisticuffs and revenge on his mind in this slobber knocker of a flick; Hanumān would be proud. AAWA Constant Readers have been under Stephen King’s trance since Carrie debuted 50 years ago this month, and the fellas have thoughts, and Believe It Or Not…Jon rides to the top floor to receive his super-powered alien suit and grants us the followup to The Greatest American Hero that the world has been waiting for!

Dynamite Comics is bringing Space Ghost back from the dead by giving him the Thundercats treatment! This is no late-night talk show and it sure as heck-fire ain’t no kiddy-story. Space pirates, hijackers and nefarious characters beware, a powerful cosmic vigilante now metes out justice throughout the known galaxy, bringing vengeance to those who prey upon the defenseless. Evil cannot hide from the gaze of Space Ghost! AAWA Valiant Comics sets to re-relaunch Alien Books 4-color funny books, but they have a little spring cleaning to do first, meanwhile Charlie rides the elevator like a runaway T-rex with his Jurassic sequel/alternative pitch!

When you remake a cult classic, you had better come correct (or you might end up with a knife sticking out of your gut). At this point, Patrick Swayze has had his work remade so many times, he may as well be King Kong! Roadhouse is the most recent flick to be retread, this time by Amazon. Did the Bezos bunch drop a Double Deuce on our hearts? Your boys have thoughts, and they’ll be nice…until it’s time to not be nice. AAWA Arrakis takes us into its sandy embrace once again as Dune: Awakening gets set to launch its closed beta. This new Open-world MMO just may be the biggest Survival game ever, meanwhile they can’t take the sky away from Jon as he plays the big damn hero and pitches his Firefly prequel!

It’s 1997, Bill Clinton is in the White House, Biggie is gunned down in LA, Tyson is biting ears, and South Park debuts on Comedy Central, BUT you’re not allowed to watch it, so you comfort yourself by watching the greatest cartoon about angsty mutants since TMNT! The X-Men are on TV in all their 4-color glory, so heat up the hot pockets, pour yourself some HI-C and get comfy! But wait…..it’s 2024, and those stinkin’ muties are BACK (this time on Disney+) and the boys have something to say! AAWA Mark Grayson, not to be outdone, makes a glorious return of his own in Invincible season 2.5 on Amazon and Jon couldn’t be happier, meanwhile Charlie looks to the waterline and gets the team ready for ‘Zilla the ONLY way he knows how, assemble the G-Force for his latest elevator pitch!

We’ve all had experiences and encounters with the unknown, and the unexplainable. We haven’t seen anything like this though. The Parables tell of an unimaginable evil, commanding an army of ghosts, with the power to kill by fear itself, you are literally scared to death. THIS was that threat that your heroes, Jon & Charlie faced at the WORLD premiere of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, in NYC last night. They have plenty to say! AAWA Charlie regales us with his favorite Real Ghostbusters cartoon plots, while Jon takes us to the top floor of the firehouse with his Ghostbusters Franchise elevator pitch! “It’s Miller time!”

Oh that sweet little Muad’Dib is back in all his big-eared, adorability! Chalamet and Co. are up to their sandy, Arrakis hi-jinx once again, and like OG fan-boy Stilgar….we are here for it. So sit back, and pass the Melange! AAWA Jon takes a good long look at the MANY additional entries into the Dune franchise and examine which might make successful adaptations moving forward. Meanwhile Charlie takes the Xavier Mansion’s elevator up to the top floor and regales us with HIS X-Men pitch!

“Time…is a funny thing. The past, the future, it all gets mixed up. There is only one way to keep it straight, always remember who you are.” If “who you are” is a fan of the original American-anime, then you def have “mixed up” emotions as the Netflix live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender is set to drop! It doesn’t matter if you are team water, fire, earth or air, we are ALL #TeamAang! AAWA Charlie knows there is only one hero that can handle the Joker, and it ain’t Bruce Wayne. Somebody light up the Chip-Signal! Finally Jon has the GLOW as he hits us with his The Last Dragon 2 elevator pitch. "Who’s the Master?!”

Down one founder, we looked to the Garden State for reinforcements, and the Co-host of Live From the Secret Stash, Christian Cordes has answered the call! Our new power-couple is getting into the Spy business, with the all-new Mr. And Mrs. Smith reboot on Prime. AAWA they do their best to summon the POWER with season 2 of Netflix’s He-Man: Revolution, and Christian sets up shop in the elevator and pitches his big-budget Nerf flick!

When it comes to Kaiju, nobody has done it better or longer than Godzilla! In between modern slugfests with King Kong, ‘Zilla dropped an absolute classic re-telling of how his scaly hijinx got started. With an incredibly positive reception, there was really only one way to make a good thing great… re-release it in black and white! Nobody thought they would “pull the trigger”, but they did!

“If I can change, and you can change, everybody can change!” When a Drago spin-off was announced in the midst of Sly Stallone’s very public prize fight with producer Irwin Winkler….. we were #TeamRocky. Now that the dust has settled and The Siberian Express is moving forward at full speed, it’s just about time to climb back in the ring. AAWA Chip Zdarsky is back with Avengers:Twilight, it’s not exactly what you’d expect, meanwhile Charlie is locked and loaded with his Dirty Harry elevator pitch. You gotta ask yourself a question; Do I feel lucky?”. Well, do ya punk?

Say what? Pardon? Huh? Oh…you say you’re ready for some undeniably adult content from Marvel? (Not in THAT way ya perv) Well say no more, because here comes ECHO…echo….echo, and she means business! Ms. Maya Lopez is back in her own show on Disney+ so put the kids to bed and get ready for some action-packed ish! AAWA yer boys are joined once again by the creator of Banjo & Buckshot, Christian Cordes, as Jon takes us on an epic adventure (with a unique spin) with his Jason and the Arogonauts pitch!

When any degree of tragedy inevitably comes into our life, you’ll often hear the old chestnut, “It could be worse”. What people are referring to in that case…is the Von Erich family. Unquestionably the most cursed name in the wrestling business…and that’s saying something. That curse is depicted (and somewhat downplayed) in the film, The Iron Claw. Your boys have thoughts. AAWA the Rivera’s take a look at what’s coming down the line in ’24 and Charlie picks up where Fritz left us in ’27, with his elevator pitch for a Metropolis remake!

When the McCallisters plan a family trip to France and end up sleeping in on the morning they are scheduled to fly out, they end up leaving their precocious baby boy behind. Unfortunately two bumbling house burglars are looking to break in to stately McCallister Manor on that same weekend, so young Kevin has to defend his home from evil-doers! Wait……that’s the plot of Home Alone, but it has a STRIKING resemblance to Merry Little Batman. This version sees Damian Wayne playing to roll of domestic terrorist, and the Rivera boys have thoughts! AAWA the second season of What If has dropped in all it’s hypothetical glory, meanwhile your gruesome twosome get distracted by looking at 2023 in the rearview mirror. "Keep the change, ya filthy animal!”

🎵Superior Spider-Man, Spider-Man, does even more than a regular Spider-Man can. Bailey Briggs who the hell is he? Now Supernova is after the wrong Spidey. LOOK OUT! Doc Ock screwed up being Spider-Man!🎶 Superior Spider-Man #1 has infested the comic shops, and the Rivera’s have thoughts! AAWA the most famous blood-sucker is back in four-color funny book format with Skybound’s Universal Monsters:Dracula. Does the Count still have what it takes, or should have he been left in the crypt? Meanwhile Jon returns us to the 25th century with his Buck Rogers elevator pitch! To quote Twiki, “bedeep, bedeep, bedeep, bedeep!”

Not so long ago….in the mysterious land of Toronto, Canada. Scott Pilgrim was dating a high schooler…. AGAIN. Debuting on Netflix, in all it’s animated glory; Scott, Ramona, Knives, Wallace, Stacey, Julie, Stephen, Kim, Young Neil, and the Evil 7 are all back! But after a graphic novel, major motion picture, and video game, is there any story eft to tell? Feed another coin into the slot and find out! AAWA Loki and Gen V have both wrapped in time for Thanksgiving break, and yer boys have thoughts, meanwhile Charlie slips into that elevator as if he was piloting a mech-suit and throwing down with the neo-sapians. That’s right, his EXO-Squad pitch is up next!🇺🇸

Higher? Further? Faster? Together? Carol Danvers has got some company now, and we ain’t talking about the Kree. Apparently not many folks have caught this latest offering from Marvel, but yer boys have and they have thoughts! Does this flick deserve to be flushed down the wormhole, or does it just take a Supreme Intelligence to figure out what’s going on? AAWA For months, the “Undernet” has been on fire with hype for w0rldtr33 by James Tynion IV. Finally we get a collected edition of his work, so get your binge on! Meanwhile Jon slips on his shades and checks his bubblegum supply, all in preparation for his “They Live Too” Elevator Pitch!

After an earth-shattering betrayal, (and an insanely successful Season One) Mark Grayson - AKA “INVINCIBLE”, fights to rebuild his life. In the face of apocalyptic threats, he discovers new allies and wrestles with his greatest fear - that he might become his father. A tall order for an 18 year old kid that has ZERO mustache game! AAWA Jon dries his tears long enough to lament the finale of the Attack On Titan anime. An absolute, all-time GIANT of the genre. Meanwhile Charlie gets locked and loaded for a Real American Elevator Pitch. Cobra is already shaking in their boots over his Gi Joe spin-off!

As we all come out of our Halloween candy induced diabetic comas, let us take the opportunity to feast our eyes on something completely NEW! Comic book superstar Tony Daniel brings us EDENWOOD, a new series from Image Comics, chronicling an eons-long series of multiverse wars between demons and witches which has found Earth as its latest and final battleground. Image is seeing to it that “Spooky Season” never ends, and the Rivera Boys have thoughts! AAWA Charlie heads back to school with GEN V on Amazon Prime, while Jon pitches a Contra adaptation decades in the making!

With the Writers and Actors Unions in the midst of a Tom Seaver level STRIKE, NYCC ’23 was relegated to the comic book artists, cosplayers, vendors and FANS! Ghostbuster Charlie was front and center and is ready to drop the knowledge! AAWA-Jon was surprised to see that LOKI 2 has magically appeared on Disney+ just in time for spooky season. Is Marvel finally back on track for the current phase, or have the ghouls and goblins scared up another misstep? Finally, Charlie scares up a new elevator pitch for our ear holes and wallets, will it be a trick, or a treat?

One Piece - The Batman 2 - Elevator Pitch - USComics CastCome aboooooard and bring aloooooong, all your hopes and dreams. Together we will find everything that we’re looking for…. (assuming what you’re looking for is the best damn pirate-themed series to hit the open sea since Black Sails) ONE PIECE! Yet another beloved anime series has been adapted to live-action and this time, its a Gum Gum Gamechanger! AAWA Matt Reeves’ The Batman 2 is building up a head of steam and the details are coming in hot and heavy. Charlie is all about those alleged new co-stars for the caped crusader, while Jon takes the elevator to the top floor, and regales us all the way with a NEW pitch!

There is a brand new anti-hero and he’s not from a 4-color funny book. Maxwell Jacob Friedman is better than you and you may not know it yet! The AEW Champ and his company are setting paid fan attendance records and your fav podcast tag-team have thoughts! AAWA, Jon is looking to “Finish Him!” as Mortal Kombat 1 hits the re-boot button, meanwhile Charlie hits the button for the top-floor and throws a brand new elevator pitch!

Ahsoka Tano, hero of the Clone Wars and rebel amongst rebels, is back and she has brought the whole cadre of Filoni creations with her! An entirely new section of the Star Wars saga has been given the live-action treatment, and the Rivera Bros. have thoughts! AAWA Charlie fuels up the “Taco” and gets SPICY with his take on Blue Beetle, while Jon readies his latest elevator pitch to the powers that be!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem has dropped, and this week the ooze is flowing just like the nerdy conversation! Christian (of the inimitable Live! From the Secret Stash Podcast) joins Charlie once again, chatting about all things geek-tastic! AAWA the boys attempt an elevator pitch DOUBLE-TEAM and take us from the top floor to the landfill! Be afraid, be VERY afraid!

This year was more than a little different in sunny San Diego. With Sag-Aftra joining the Writers Guild on the picket lines, the International Comic Con reverted back to the artists, comics and collectables. Thank the Gods that we still had cos-players to provide some star-power! The USComics kids are here to break SDCC down! AAWA Jon gets to the bottom of the Skrull Invasion while Charlie pitches his Power Rangers flick all the way to the top floor!

What Tom lacks in height, he more than makes up for in box office receipts. Mr. Cruise has done it again, as Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning is tops at theaters worldwide. The fellas were in attendance and they have thoughts! AAWA the Actors Union has joined the Writers on the picket line and Charlie has broken down all the reasons why and mulled over what we can expect in the coming months, while Jon just figures out what to do when the earth quakes and the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. He pitches HIS Big Trouble In Little China sequel!

As the casting news for Superman’s DCU reboot keeps coming in hot and heavy, it’s Clark’s softer, animated side that has caught our attention here at USComicsCast. The big-blue-boyscout is flying under the radar on MAX and Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim, and your four-color funny buddies have thoughts! AAWA once AGAIN the King of the monsters has risen from the depths of the Pacific to the horror of thousands of fleeing Japanese and the delight of rubber-suit afficionadoes the world-over. Lastly, Charlie gets ready to “Fire it up! Fire it up!, Fire it up!” with his elevator pitch for a Crow sequel. It can’t rain all the time, or CAN it?!

“It’s not the years honey, it’s the Milage”. Truer words were never spoken, as it’s been 15 years since Crystal Skull, but that Indiana Jones train keeps on rolling! The Dial of Destiny is in theaters and boy oh boy do the Rivera Brothers have thoughts! AAWA Charlie realizes, “that’s no moon, it’s a space station……oh wait no, it is a moon. A REBEL MOON!” Zack Snyder serves up his upcoming bootleg Star Wars flick, while Jon dons the fedora and climbs on into the elevator to “whip”-up an Indiana Jones pitch of his own!

2011 was a LONG time ago, 7 seasons and 1 pandemic later, here we are and somehow the Mirror is still Black. Sci-Fi seems to have given way to horror as this newest season of Black Mirror on Netflix is all about finger-pointing and (relatively) modern hi-jinx. Rivera Inc. has thoughts! EXTRA! EXTRA! James Gunn seems to have found his Superman and Lois and it looks to be headline news AAWA Charlie finds out that only thing more dangerous in the confines of an elevator than a Black Cat with sharp claws, is a Spectacular Spider!

The “Invasion” is no longer a “Secret”, as Nick Fury and Co. are back in action over on Disney+! AI Opening Credits not-withstanding, the series that promises a return to form has the masses talking, and the Rivera’s are no exception! AAWA Charlie rides shotgun as Chris Hemsworth gets back on the Extraction wagon, while Jon wonders what’s been going on with Peter Weller’s RoboCop and OCP’s shenanigans!

The Summer season is well underway, and the multiplexes are FILLED with a new blockbuster every weekend! This week on USComics Cast it’s a double feature, as the fellas have taken in both Transformers: Rise of the Beasts & The Flash! As one franchise hangs on for dear life, another one races to it’s highly anticipated conclusion. Which is which? Join us and find out!

Arachnophobia be damned! This past weekend, nerds from across the land trekked Miles & Miles to catch the animated sequel… Spider-Man:Across the Spider-verse, and your friendly neiborhood podcasters were no exception. Like J Jonah Jameson, they have thoughts! AAWA Jon looks back on an underrated Superman/Gi Joe cross-over publication (kinda), while Charlie pushes back on the “too perfect” vitriol aimed at the Big Blue Boy Scout.

Secretly a spy, but thought by his family to be a dull salesman, Arnie has to track down a nuclear weapon, while saving the world and his relationship with his loved ones at the same time. Plot to True Lies, you ask? NOPE! This would be the plot to Schwarzenegger’s first TV gig FUBAR! The Rivera boys have thoughts! AAWA Charlie worships at the alter of Kevin Smith during a special viewing of Red State, while Jon mourns the loss of Succession from our lives.

With a spin-off and 10 direct installments in it’s rearview mirror, and the promise of at LEAST one more, the franchise that started with a tuna sandwich just refuses to die (just like most of its characters). “The End of the Road Begins” with Fast X, and ya boys have THOUGHTS! AAWA Jon looks to the stars in anticipation of Rom: The Space Knight’s glorious return to the stands, while Charlie catches up with Slippin’ Jimmy and all the good (and not-so good) folks on Better Call Saul. “Still a buster”!

🎶 Even though it’s been a long road baybay, they’re the melody to my song. You and I, we were made for this moment, you’re going to rock, they’re going to rock, we’re going to… rock on! Rock on and on and on! 🎶Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem are back, and rocking on Disney+ and these groupies have thoughts! AAWA Charlie leans into the rumor of Filoni adapting “Heir to the Empire” for his upcoming big screen effort while Jon takes the comic book art snobs to school over Frank Miller’s Wolverine variant cover. “I wanna rock and roll all night, and part of every day” you have to use the other part of the day to rest…

They were gone for quite a while, but no matter what comes next, the galaxy still needs its guardians…. James Gunn bids the Marvel universe a fond farewell with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 and the Rivera Ravagers have thoughts (we’re not crying, you’re crying) AAWA Jon brings us back to Earth with all your favorite hybrids in season 2 of Sweet Tooth, while Charle takes us right back to the stars with the second season of Star Wars:Visions. *Editors note-Cosmo is a GOOD dog!

STRIKE! STRIKE! STRIKE! 11,000 Hollywood screenwriters have hit the picket lines over streaming residuals, higher pay and job protection from AI. Who would have thought that the battle against the machines would be fought by the same nerds that conceived The Matrix, Terminator, Ex Machina and Tron? THESE writers have thoughts. AAWA Charlie looks to the future with Superboy:The Man of Tomorrow, while Jon drops BACK into the multiverse, with Batman #135 and all the familiar variants you can stuff into a utility belt!
