Jesus is speaking with Peter in Matthew 18 : 21-35, when he tells The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant. Jesus tells of a servant that is forgiven by his king of an insurmountable debt but when given the oppourtunity to forgive another of a much smaller debt, the servant refuses. Pastor Autumn makes the connection that we are the unmerciful servant. God forgave us of our insurmountable debt when Jesus died on the cross but our human nature does not allow us to forgive as quickly as we should. To get closer to Jesus you must be willing to forgive not seven times, but an unlimited number of times.
