A young woman leaves behind her isolated, suffocating existence to climb The Tower, an abandoned relic of a forgotten age, built by a proud king who wanted to rule the sky as well as the land. It stretches up into the sky, through the smog.An experimental audio drama miniseries from Tin Can Audio

It's our final day in the studio here at Tin Can Audio. Thank you for listening to The Tower this year, and for being here for the final part of the series.
We have one last release for you before we sign off for 2025. The soundtrack to The Tower Finale is now available to buy on the Tin Can Audio Bandcamp page. It features some of my favourite work on the series, bringing together all the motifs of the past 6 years.
The Tower Finale Complete Score is now available to listen and purchase on Bandcamp. But before we fully sign off, we want to tell you about a show we've been really enjoying here at TCHQ.
catskull is a new audio drama thriller from Andas Productions, the team behind the incredible Temujin and the DC High Volume Batman series. It is an adaptation of the award winning novel by Myle Yan Tay, catskull is a brilliant atmospheric neo-noir story that explores the violence simmering beneath an unforgiving city, with beautiful, immersive sound design bringing modern day Singapore to life.
I really love this series, it's single narrator without really being a single narrator audio drama, and it very slowly and calmly draws you in with it's quiet brutality. It's an incredible example of what audio drama can be, created by one of the best production teams in the world right now.
When we were making Land's End earlier this year and were grappling with the intricacies of a kissing scene in an audio drama, Andas Productions' work on Temujin was our high watermark on how to do intimacy in audio form.
catskull is available now wherever you get your podcasts, at time of recording there are 8 episodes out, so plenty to get your teeth into. Stick around after this to hear the very first episode.
Thank you for listening to The Tower, and for coming with us on this journey.
Happy holidays

A two part special, coming November 2025
Six years ago this week we released the first ever episode of The Tower. A lot has changed since then, I had no idea that this weird little idea for a story would take me down the path it has. I'm incredibly grateful to every single one of you who has come with us on this journey, you have all been very patient, and it is an honour to be able to share a trailer for the final part of this series.
Also, from today, right up until we finish the series, over on the Tin Can Audio twitch channel, I'm going to be hosting some listen alongs and behind the scenes streams of The Tower every Monday and Wednesday, including the day this releases, at 8pm UK time, 3pm Eastern. If you're just joining us or you want to do a full series relisten before the finale comes out, this is a great way to experience the show before we close the book on it.
Tune in here: twitch.tv/tincanaudio
We hope you enjoy, and thank you for listening.
This is a very quick update about The Tower as well as an introduction to a new show we've been working on.
Land's End: A Shepherd's Tale is a rural gothic horror about land rights, pastoralism and queer rural life written by Bibi June (Folxlore) stars Tobias Weatherburn (Camlann, Space Marine II) and is directed by Robyn Holdaway (Camlann, Sex Education) and produced by Amber Devereux and Ross McFarlane at Tin Can Audio.

This is just a quick announcement to say that the soundtrack for Part 3 of The Tower is now available to pre-order from the Tin Can Audio Bandcamp page.
If you pre-order the album you'll get my favourite track on the album, 'These Lifeless Things' right away, that's the track playing behind me.
The full album will be released on Bandcamp and on most streaming services on May 21st. I've put a pre-save link in the shownotes.
The score for Part 3 was some of the most challenging, but also some of the most rewarding, music I've ever had the pleasure of making. It ties together a lot of musical themes and threads from Part 1 & 2 while also introducing some of its own sounds and motifs.
It also has a lot of very, very tasty synth textures and we played around with a lot of tape effects with this soundtrack. I'm very proud of it, I think it's some of the best music from the series.
Thank to everyone who has listened and continues to listen to this series and its soundtrack. I can't quite believe we've made it this far!
We are in the process of figuring out the final part of the series. I don't really have any news other than that but I thought it was important to let you know that there is going to be another part.
That will hopefully be appearing sooner rather than later but, in the meantime, please enjoy the rest of this track and thank you so much for listening, and thank you so much for being here.

Gendered Intelligence: https://genderedintelligence.co.uk/index.html
Small Trans Library Glasgow: https://smalltranslibrary.org/
Apologies for the mini feed drop, I try to avoid these things as much as I can during a series release.
At the end of 2022, the Scottish Parliament finally passed the long awaited Gender Recognition Reform Bill, a bill that makes the process for legally recognising a trans man or woman's gender slightly more straightforward and more respectful, bringing Scotland in line with the United Nations international practice and adopted by 30 countries, including most of the United States.
The UK government announced yesterday that they would be blocking the bill from becoming law, effectively undermining the Scottish government's decision and actively choosing to make the lives of trans people more difficult.
Putting aside the constitutional and political issues that this causes. This decision to use trans people as a political football and treating them as a threat to be contained rather than, you know, people, means that being trans in Scotland is going to be difficult and exhausting for the next while, as if it wasn't already.
All of this is to say that, for the rest of the month, I will splitting the money from Bandcamp sales between Gendered Intelligence, a grassroots organisation that works to increase visibility and understanding of trans people, and Small Trans Library Glasgow, a mutual aid organisation in the city where I live.
If you can, please consider buying something, like a season pass for The Tower or the soundtracks to Part 1 & 2. Or, even better, consider donating directly to the organisations mentioned, I'll put links in the shownotes.
Thank you for listening, and stay safe out there.

A collection of lo-fi remixes of some of the music from The Tower. This special mix also incorporates additional sound design from the series to create an immersive listening experience.
This started out as a joke on the Tin Can Audio Patreon Discord and then, during a week I was recovering from the flu, I started playing around with some of the music and found that it actually wasn't the worst idea.
This was a lot of fun to put together, and I hope you enjoy listening to it!

The series, the monologue and even the music have all evolved since this performance (David says it's a five part series, now it's seven), but it's a nice little preview of the show.
