We've been doing this for a while, both on this podcast and on others. We've had all kinds of technical issues over the years, but this is probably the first time we've ever failed to actually save a recorded segment after completion. So Episode 75 of For All You Kids Out There is only two halves, which makes more mathematical sense we guess. In Episode 74 of For All You Kids Out There we put our second season of Mets podcasting in the books, and this one was...not as fun. Both on-field, which we cover by going over all 52 players on the 2017 Mets, but also off-field as you may now be aware if you have been even vaguely paying attention. So we talk about the end of the Terry Collins era, future Mets managerial candidates, and the schism between ownership, front office, and the field staff. The Mets didn't have the worst week in the NL East though, and we also discuss the Atlanta front office scandal that unfolded in large part while we were actually recording.

Roughly around when Montero was left in to give up a bomb to Mat Latos (who has a cat named Cat Latos), Jarrett gchatted Jeffrey to demand a podcast. Once Gabriel Ynoa was removed from the game, Jeffrey acquiesced, we called the Kates, and this is the result.

The Mets are still in a playoff race as we record our 18th episode. We are as shocked as you are. In the first half of the show, we zoom out and look at playoff and award races across baseball, at least when not getting distracted by the usual stuff. Jarrett had to go to Trenton to watch a game, so in the second half of the show, we just let David Roth (in case you couldn't figure out he might be appearing from the title) riff on ethnomusicology, Seth Lugo, and Korean baseball. Then in the third half of the show, we talk spin rate, Nabil Crismatt, and relievers.
In Episode 17 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey is mourning the lack of a This Week in Gabriel Ynoa, Jarrett is recovering from a four-hour indy wrestling show, and there is a lot to cover in Metsland.
In the first half of the show, we break down the week that was, going day-by-day through the Mets series with the Cardinals and Phillies while examining our frustrations with the Collins and Alderson administration, pleading for a Cespedes extension, grousing about the difficulties of providing new analysis every week, wondering about the Mets rotation, and expressing befuddlement at the Mets handling of Michael Conforto.
In the second half of the show, we are joined again by good friend Greg Karam to review the Mets minor league season. And in the third half of the show we discuss indy rock, playoff odds, sunk costs, and then a whole lot of professional wrestling with The Wrestling Blog's Tom Holzerman, or TH if you will.
We return with regular programming, which means a two-plus-hour podcast with too much pro wrestling talk. In the first half of the show we chat about when and if to shut down Syndergaard and Matz, if Travis d'Arnaud is now underrated again, and what the Mets should do this offseason with Neil Walker. In the second half, Mike Vorkunov of BP Mets and everywhere else on the interent joins us to break down exactly where the 2016 Mets season went wrong. And in the third half of the show, we chat about Mets prospects Ali Sanchez and Luis Carpio (and eventually, inevitably, Dominic Smith) and then wrap up the show with about forty minutes on NXT Takeover II and the general future direction of the WWE. In Episode 14 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett dissect the tire fire that is the NL East Second Wild Card race. The Mets are still in it, we don't know how. But in the first half of the show we examine Cespedes' DL stint and what it might mean for the Mets playoff hopes and the Mets outfield alignment (and Cespedes' golf game). We also take a look at the fifth starter candidates with Logan Verrett potentially on the outs.
In the second half of the show we answer your e-mails about first base gloves and Japanese pro wrestling crowds, before Jarrett sidedrains the podcast into a long A-Rod chat.
In the third half of the show we talk Mets prospects and Jeffrey brings back the IFK Goteborg update, because if the pro wrestling chat hasn't scared you away, might as well roll out the soccer talk.
In hindsight, we definitely should have recorded after the deadline. Nevertheless, enjoy this round up of the wheelin' and dealin' from Monday. Jarrett is much less angry than we were promised though.
It's the For All You Kids Out There trade deadline spectacular. Jeffrey and Jarrett talk about the trade market for starting pitching on the heels of the Drew Pomeranz deal, and what that might mean for the Mets quest for more arms. Next, Jarrett wants to talk about Yuliesky Gurriel signing with not-the-Mets for some reason, even though Jeffrey knew exactly how this was going to play out. In Episode 10 Jeffrey issues a mea culpa to the Pirates before Jarrett and he dive into one last baseball-related This Week in Matt Harvey for 2016. There's more bad news on the starting pitching front as well, so we discuss if the Mets should be buying starting pitching at the deadline and what a deal might look like. One starting pitcher who we imagine is available is Wade LeBlanc, but that isn't why we are talking about him with Vice Sports' David Roth. We never need an excuse to talk about Wade LeBlanc with David. We also touch on Moby Dick, Daniel Murphy as Mike Trout, and how expensive game-used jerseys are. At some point the 2005 Binghamton Mets roster gets b-ref'd, but at this moment we don't remember why. In the third half of the show, we have new lists, a new prospect list, your correspondence, and some Brock Lesnar chat. This one is almost as long as Mellville's tome, and features a narrative only slightly more under the author's control.
In Episode 9 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett tackle the most prominent issue in Metsland: that ridiculous Cespedes third tank home run. Okay, it's all downhill from there, but man that was a lot of fun. We discuss balky elbows, the wild card race, and soft selling before welcoming on Kate Morrison and Russell Carlton to talk about major league front offices and Saving America's Pastime. Then we revisit potential Mets All-Stars, investigate the curious case of Seth Lugo, get way off topic with a look at recent goings-on in the NYC baseball media, and wrap things up talking Nick Williams and false hustle.
It feels like it has been weeks since our last episode, so there is a lot of ground to cover in Episode 8. We start with a discussion of new Met, Jose Reyes, before moving on to happier topics, like the Mets plethora of arm issues. We also talk about Michael Conforto being optioned for Brandon Nimmo before delving in deeper on Reyes with Sports Illustrated's Emma Span. On the plus side, this is the shortest episode yet, on the minus side, it is still as disorganized and bogged down in pro wrestling talk as usual. Finally we wrap things up with two(!) lists (one David Wright, one pro wrestling), and kibitz about Triple-A baseball.

This is probably an overly pithy summary of another three hour podcast, but it is getting late.
