Deb & Bruce Potts' mission is to serve couples as Marriage Mentors. Since 2012, they've been mentoring couples in their church by coming alongside those going through a rough season. They also train and lead other mentors on their team and nurture a space where marriages can grow from good to great. They've learned a lot about God's institution of marriage. Their marriage is far from perfect, but God has blessed their journey toward oneness. In over forty years of married life, they've experienced both highs and lows, including Bruce's 30 day stay in an ICU during the first scary surge of Covid. He underwent two brain surgeries, uncontrollable seizures, a ventilator, loss of speech, the ability to write his name and paralysis. During this time, Deb couldn't visit him because of Covid restrictions. Through it all, their faith, marriage, and community sustained them. Bruce is fully recovered today and they felt compelled to use this calamity to weave a story about how God can use anything, even the most dire circumstances, for our good. Michelle's mission is to share with people that joy and sorrow can coexist. Even when circumstances are sorrowful, it is possible to find joy and to have hope. Tina Swithin survived a “Category Five Divorce Hurricane” while acting as her own attorney in a high-conflict custody battle that turned her family’s life upside down for over a decade. While divorces are never easy, Tina quickly learned that divorcing a narcissist or other high-conflict individual escalates family law cases to levels that few can comprehend.
During her ten year journey through the family court system in pro per, Tina went through a two-day trial, over 40 court dates and two full child custody evaluations. During this time, minor’s counsel was appointed, over twelve police reports were generated and a total of three child welfare reports determined that her ex-husband was a “moderate risk” yet did nothing to protect her children.
In an effort to articulate what was happening, Tina took shelter from the storm by chronicling her journey in her (now) internationally recognized blog, “One Mom’s Battle.” Tina’s plight grew from just one mom to a village of tens of thousands who all share the same story. There were different variations and nuances, but the common denominator is toxic, high conflict individuals and post-separation abuse.
With all odds against her, Tina’s battle came to an end on August 30, 2019, when her ex-husband’s parental rights were terminated. Tina has chosen to assume the title of survivor versus victim and has become an advocate for change in the Family Court System after seeing the flaws first-hand. Tina believes that the courts have lost sight of their primary focus, which should be the best interest of the child and instead, are too focused on parental rights. Tina believes that children are suffering unnecessarily due to the lack of education on the front lines—and behind the judicial bench.
In 2020, Tina Swithin founded, “Family Court Awareness Month.” Tina is the author of Divorcing a Narcissist (series) and founder of the High Conflict Divorce Coach Certification Program. Tina Swithin has been awarded honors such as the “Top 20 Professionals Under 40” and the “Top 40 Professionals Under 40” in several regional California newspapers. Tina resides in San Luis Obispo, California with her husband and her two daughters.

Dave Ebert battled depression and suicidal ideations for over a decade, masked it through humor, and finally turned his life over to God. He's redeeming that lost time through his comedy ministry, which includes both performing and teaching improv. The greatest blessing of this journey is teaching improv to women who've survived and escaped sex trafficking. He believes that God gave us laughter as a gift to help us through trying times, to mark and remember special times, and to bring people together. Performing improv is a wonderful way to bring people together and to rely on God to help create great moments to help people. Overcoming depression and suicidal ideations is all a credit to God, Who pursued him and loved him despite how unworthy he is...and that is the same for anyone. When he speaks about depression and suicide, he speaks from the belief that no two people experience it the same, and that there is no cut and paste fix all. He is a credentialed minister and children's pastor, but when he speaks to someone battling, he doesn't 'preach' at them and doesn't just regurgitate non-stop Scripture. He walks with them through the darkness and hope to help them find their way out and find their own path to God.

Timothy L. Price talks about his new book Labyrinth of the World (or how to live in a changing world). He lost regular employment because of health complications. He always wanted to adapt Labyrinth to make it more readable than it ever had been before. Labyrinth did not exist in English until 1901. Since then, it has been translated four other times. Each version has its value, yet they all are not approachable for the average reader. Having found the book nearly 20 years ago to be impactful, he wanted to make an effort to adapt the book to be more practical and commission artwork that would make it more engaging and endearing for today’s readers. After losing work, the opportunity of the project became possible. The project took 18 months. He directed all aspects of publishing to re-issued Labyrinth of the World in a 400th-anniversary collector’s edition—full-color throughout, with 16 newly commissioned illustrations. Kim (Chosen), from Oshawa, Ontario, Canada is an Inspirational rapper, Motivational Speaker and Artist, she is also the Director of Children and Youth Ministries/Outreach and Woman of many hats at Livingstones Community Fellowship Church in Oshawa. Chosen has been ministering through song for over 20 years. She has opened for 2-time Juno nominee MANAFEST, performed at numerous places throughout Ontario, including a Detention Centre for Youth in London, Ontario. She has also performed in schools and at numerous youth events, churches, and community outreaches within Ontario.
At the age of 11 years old Chosen was sexually abused by a neighbour who was also a family friend. This experience led her on a path where she struggled with her identity, with suicidal thoughts, anxiety and depression. In and out of unhealthy relationships, searching for acceptance and believing her life had very little worth, at 23 years old Chosen became pregnant and was faced with the reality of becoming a single mother. Chosen tried to put matters into her own hands but God had another plan and on October 31st, 2005, she gave birth to her son Jakob. Raising her son has been her greatest joy and her saving grace. Debra Ayis established Valiant Scribe in December 2019 in New York which aims to provide a platform for unique and diverse perspectives on human rights and social justice. It sits at the nexus of faith and social issues. Independent of each other and complementary of the other. It’s self-funded and supported by volunteers. While there are a lot of great journals out there, there are very few which bridged the gap between social justice, or social issues in general and the Christian faith. In a country where the Christian community is polarized and perspectives of faith have become politicized, she wanted to create an avenue where Christian and non-Christians, alike, could come to the table and find points of alignment. Secondly, she understood the danger of only reading international stories through a Western lens. She created Valiant Scribe to bridge divides and bring international perspectives to the table. We live in a globalized world, so it behooves us to be open to the realities of the world outside the borders of the USA through the life experiences of others, hence Valiant Scribe’s tagline of “giving a voice to the voiceless by retelling the human experience.” She wanted to hear the voices of Christians and others lost in the fray of a polarized America, and she wanted to give agency to those brushed aside because their lived experience does not align with the American mainstream. They publish poetry, creative non-fiction, devotionals, fiction and cross-genre. They recently published issue 2 of the Journal titled "Vultures & Doves: Social Issues of Our Times." The collection of poetry explores the theme of vultures and doves from the contexts of war and peace, and despair and hope in a world filled with conflict, poverty, natural disasters, human rights violations, and other ills.
