Before launching his solo project, Zolton spent many years as the guitarist and vocalist for Sydney bands, Lucid and Jetstream. After Jetstream disbanded, Zolton moved to New York where he gave music away and focused on a new career running a digital media company. During that time, he launched the music and culture website, Lost At E Minor, which was a vehicle through which to promote and encourage the talent of some Australia’s hottest emerging creatives.
At the end of 2016, Zolton moved back to Sydney and was re-invigorated to get back into creating music again. He began work on a new musical project that incorporated big 80s-styled synths, beats, and melodic hooks.

LYRICS Imagination is a powerful receiver And the posters on my wall make me an audio believer On the other side of summer songs are playing on the radio The voices of my idols as they sing to me in stereo

I've got some cassettes in my pocket They’ll soothe me, let me mellow Hearing words of introspection From Paul Weller and Costello If I shoot that poison arrow just as far as it can go Then the noises in my head will fill the silence of the after show

GOOD LIFE Don't go chasing airplanes To keep your eyes on The stars on radio
If you're ready or not You've gotta give it a shot You've gotta take take take it today
If we make it all night It'll be alright We gotta shake shake shake away
Living nothing but a good life
So you're taking photographs Of the stars Looking down from your bedroom wall

SUMMERS ON REWIND Remember all the days we spent Talking 'bout the changes that we sensed Would you buy a one way ticket To the backstreets of our lives?
We could always dream together Running from our past forever Underneath a blue sky turning Far from the other side
Summers on rewind The sound of expectation Is in the air Summers on rewind So we should live without a care
Give a little Take number And wrap it up
Summers on rewind The sound of expectation Is in the air Summers on rewind So we should live without a care
Remember how the days felt long Forever young but never wrong Now it seems the nights are longer Still waiting for the bomb to fall
Summers on rewind Summers on rewind We could always dream together Running from our past forever

Purple Sneakers, Yellow Shoes is a polished slice of 80s nostalgia - as if M83 met Mi-Sex in a crowded bar. It's a musical statement on the 'fakeness' of so much of our modern consumerism, and those that remain a slave to the 'dumb' fashion that guides it all.

WHEN I WAS YOUNG When I was young And dumb and free When I was only seventeen I could dream the world away Or leave it for another day
I can see the shadows They fall around my feet I’m stepping into cracks With everyone I meet
But when I was young and dumb and free When I was blind enough to see I could dream the world away With Daft Punk radio Playing all day
When I was old enough To know When I could reap What I could sew I could dream the world away Or stand up (stand up) With something to say
I can see the shadows That fall around my feet I’m stepping into cracks With everyone I meet

NOISE ELECTRIC LYRICS Take a ride down to the Neon City Where the rooms are cheap But the lights aren’t pretty Where happiness lives, there’s no regret When all you need is all you get
Noise electric Pleasure and pain Hope and fear It’s all the same
A passing charade turn away When you’ve got nothing There’s something to say And heartbreak lives on every street And what you know is who you meet
Noise electric Pleasure and pain Hope and fear It’s all the same
Written by Zolton. Produced by David Kershenbaum, Taka Perry and Zolton. Mixed by Bob Clearmountain and mastered by Bob Ludwig.
FALLING TO PIECES When I wake up Put my mask on In my blue jeans Show my face to the day
But there’s a chance I’m falling to pieces Falling to pieces Falling apart every way
Internally, this sanity is killing me I’m making out But I’m making it up as I go
Externally, your sympathy is thrilling me I’m inside out And I’m making it up as I go
Damn the walls That hold me together On days like tomorrow Just like today, there’s no way
That this darkness Follows me gently Whispering softly Hoping that I’ll find a way

Ghosts is a meditation on the fragility of life and a quiet nod to those beautiful, gentle souls that hover silently around us - some visible, some not. "These ghosts have voices now, they sing and pray with us, shadows and memories, dance upon the stairs ... "
The song was written and co-produced by Zolton, produced by Taka Perry and mixed by Tony Hoffer.
GHOSTS As I lie in wait The silence feels impenetrable A soft light filters through the trees Like whispers of my life As it was beyond these walls But the walls are closing in
These ghosts have voices now They sing and pray with me Shadows and memories Dance upon the stairs
As I lie in wait These shadows lie with me The rain subsides, illuminating The pictures in my mind That play and play again The end is near, the music stops
These ghosts have voices now They sing and pray with me Shadows and memories Dance upon the stairs

'Pure pop spiced with a tinge of sentimentality.' Zolton’s anthemic When The Lights Come Up On New York City looks back with reverence on his decade living in America.
"This song is about my first year living in New York when I met my now wife and we explored the city together fascinated by the whole energy of the place. I ended up living in New York for eight years, and loved the experience. So the song is my tribute to New York, the mystique of the city, and some of the fun areas we hung around in."
The song was written and co-produced by Zolton and co- produced by Taka Perry.
WHEN THE LIGHTS COME UP ON NEW YORK CITY Follow shadows into Brooklyn Lower East Side, Williamsburg
The night hung heavy Walking Bedford Avenue
When The Lights Come Up On New York City We're Still Dancing
Down through Fort Greene's winter lanes I held your hand against the cold
And everything felt in its place And anything felt possible
When The Lights Come Up On New York City We're Still Dancing
Where are the blue skies? Follow me
When The Lights Come Up On New York City We're Still Dancing
Back Again is a hook laden trip down the 80s freeway of rock, complete with big synths, big guitars, and big hair!
