Zalza
Alexander Bulér Forrest aka Zalza is a Swedish chiptune composer and electronic music producer. Has been active in the computer music scene since -97. His compositions are acknowledged in productions by Razor 1911, Data Airlines and Titan. Besides chiptune composing, he also enjoys vintage computer games and any sound that can be made into music. He has released several full-length albums, EP's, remixes and has given YouTube such classics as the 2204355 Chicken Man meme.

Now being a little while since I released my album Out Of Memory, I'm so much enjoying following up with my new single 'High Roller' this summer. I was heavily inspired by 80's Wall Street movies and went all in making this track. I hope you love the result!

The new single from Zalza, 'High Roller' is a fast-paced RetroWave and SynthWave track which is purely inducing the 80's high life.
It races to bring you right into the hectic life of 80's Wall Street dealers in the verge of stock trading deals and love affairs.
With funky synth grooves, melodic vibes and loads of bit-crushed elements it urges to let you join the show - without any risk of putting you in any financial jeopardy.

I've dedicated a lot of time and effort to make this album/project a reality and I hope you enjoy the end result just as much as I do, Merry XMAS! :) So here is the official album teaser.
ALBUM PRESENTATION
The album 'Out of Memory' by Zalza depicts an exciting time between the late 70's until the early 90's when the personal computer rapidly turned into a multi-billion dollar industry.
Youngsters assembled computers from parts in their garage and met at computer clubs showing off what cool things they could do with software and hardware. It was a time when anything seemed possible.
Today the personal computer is an essential part of our everyday lives.
Each track on the full-length 14 track album is composed to bring out the sound of computers - The chipset, terminals, modem dial-ups, disk drives and sounds from gaming consoles is intent on bringing you there.
Here Zalza brings out his true feelings in subtle and soaring melodies, heavy beats and ingredients of computer noise.
Inspiration comes from vintage computer documentaries, 80's synthesizer and TV themes, 80's sci-fi blockbusters and current TV-series like Halt And Catch Fire, Mr. Robot and Stranger Things.
"I wanted to make an album with a sound inspired by computers and to capture the feeling of excitement in my childhood when I first got into computers. Genre-wise for this album I've taken a step from pure 'chiptune' to a SynthWave style enabling a broader sound image - But I've maintained the core I've had in my previous chiptune albums. In a sense Out of Memory is a lot like an old disk drive, filled with memories from Zalza's childhood that almost had been forgotten. Now he is ready to bring those nostalgic memories back to life, so buckle up and enjoy the journey!

This is the sixth track from my album called "Superposition" called 'Chasing The Clouds'. For this track, I imagined a small airplane flying trough airy clouds in an almost chaotic way. It represents the great feeling of flying as well as silliness and chaos!

Fun fact 2: My colleague at work seemed to have a favorite word - 'Douchebag" which he seamlessly shouted out every day. This was the starting point for the 'Douchebag Rumble' chiptune."

This is track number twelve from my album "Superposition", called 'The Lonesome Droid'. Imagine sometime in the future, a lonely droid with no one to talk to. Standing by the seaside watching the empty horizon while a glowing red sun goes down.
This is one of my darker "sad" chiptunes. It's awesome that you're able to produce that kind of feel from such quirky sounds. I really enjoyed making this! Hope you like it too!

This is the tenth track from my album "Superposition", called 'Just Clowning Around'. This tune jumps straight into an energetic blipblop adventure and expresses this with a fast phased beat and triggering melodies. It was composed on a sunny day while being on the train. The different components of this tune were put together just as quickly as the view flashed by outside the window!

This is the seventh track from my album called "Superposition" called 'Ultraviolet'. This tune brings forward a very hungry and moody chiptune melody. The melody and style overall was quite inspired by the sound of a demo track from my old Yamaha PSR-Keyboard, which I had in my possession in the early 90's and played around with when I was a kid. It was heaven.

Track number fourteen from my album "Superposition" is 'Waves Of Energy, which is the last track of the album. It is a fast paced tune with singing arpeggios and eager chiptune leads, never wanting to stop.
My intention was that it somewhat would leave the listener wanting more, and I really think it became the perfect track to end the album with.

ABOUT SUPERPOSITION
S U P E R P O S I T I O N - is a chiptune album which apart from having heavy influences from game console music (Such as Nintendo, Gameboy and Commodore 64) also has many influences related to our universe. There are crossovers to quantum physics, robotics and chemistry which is a silver thread throughout the album.
"While making the music for Superposition I worked hard on creating dynamic parts and I was aiming for an album that travels from a happy, playful and energetic mood over to a somewhat melancholic feel.
A whole lot of heart went into making this album. Most of the tracks reflect certain moments and occurrences from this past year.
Fun fact 1: The track name 'Ms. Bed Burrito' emerged from what I use to call my wife when she is sleeping (with the sheet around her all curled up looking just like a Burrito).
Fun fact 2: My colleague at work seemed to have a favorite word - 'Douchebag' which he seamlessly shouted out every day. This was the starting point for the 'Douchebag Rumble' chiptune."

This is the ninth track from my album called "Superposition", its name is 'Love Is The Cure'. This track blooms into a kind of melancholic chiptune love serenade but still has that eager rhythm and beat. I had a tune stuck in my head when I composed it ('Love song' by the Cure) and got somewhat inspired, so obviously the name of my track became Love Is The Cure!

This is track number thirteen from my album "Superposition", 'Ms. Bed Burrito'. This is an experimental and dreamy take on a chiptune from me. I imagined a somewhat Super Mario underground theme which was the base for the track. The drum beat was a bit inspired by songs by Muse which I've listened to at the time. The tagline "When she sleeps, she curls up just like a bed Burrito".
It was great fun composing this piece and hope you hear that in the result as well!

Hey ppl,
Here I bring you a little chiptune track called 'Magnolia Bakery'.
I visited NY not long ago (which was a blast btw) and while I was there I went to the Magnolia bakery on Bleecker st. This track represents that good day.
It's dedicated to all the chiptune fans following my page (you're awesome) and when I was composing this I was in a pure a sugar rush state. Hope it's just as sweet as the cupcakes at Magnolia bakery!
