“There’s value in focused prayer with God, but there’s also room and great value within every-moment-of-the-day fellowship with God”
In this episode, Kim and Katie have a conversation all about prayer ❤️ This is a topic that’s been discussed before on the podcast, but it was great to get to sit down and revisit it. Katie shared some scripture that has impacted her prayer life and how the practice of prayer has changed for her recently. Then she and Kim take some time to talk through what prayer looks like when you’re in different seasons of life, and what might hold people back when it comes to prayer.
We’re so thankful for open conversations like this, we hope you enjoy!
Here are some of the resources discussed:

On July 31st, we were joined by the lovely Amber Smith for She Is Community Night! Amber is a Christ follower, wife, mother, and philanthropist. She and her husband, Granger Smith, live on a little farm in central Texas with their three children, London, Lincoln, and Maverick. They also share the farm with dogs, cats, chickens, goats and in some seasons, bees. In 2019 the Smith family suffered a terrible tragedy when their youngest son River drowned. Through their pain, they felt the love and closeness of God like never before and they vowed to bring good from their suffering. For the last three years, she has shared her testimony and the hope we have in Jesus.
We are so grateful that Amber was able to join us to share her story and bring an encouraging message of hope in the midst of suffering.

We hinted at part two of Purpose and Calling, and here it is! Kim and Katie are back with special guest Ashley Bennett! Ashley is so honest and kind while sharing her story on this episode and we are so grateful that she took the time to sit down and chat with us about her journey, not only to ministry, but with God over the past year and a half.

We’re back! 🥳 Kim and Katie are back behind the mics and on today’s episode, they talk about God’s purpose and calling not only in their lives, but what that looks like for all followers of God. Listen in as they distinguish between God’s purpose for our lives as Christians versus a call to vocational ministry. They even share their own stories and what the call to ministry has looked like for each of them.
It doesn’t matter how old you are, where you live, or what you do…God’s purpose for you is to make Him known. We really do hope this episode gives you a chance to think more intentionally and pray more deeply, opening up the conversation with God about your purpose and calling.
“But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.” Acts 20:24 (NLT)

Spring has sprung and it's a new episode of the She Is Community Podcast! This week, Kim and Katie sit down and talk about mentoring! They discuss what being mentored and mentoring others has looked like for them, and how important mentorship is as we grow in our relationship with God and those around us. There’s no expiration date on the calling that God has placed on your life; you are created on purpose and for a purpose by God, who loves you so much!
“Now that I am old and gray, do not abandon me, O God. Let me proclaim your power to this new generation, your mighty miracles to all who come after me.” Psalm 71:18, NLT
If you call Summit Church home, Kim mentioned the She Is Known Mentoring Collective that will be launching in late August! If you’d like more information, you can fill out this interest form or text SHEIS to 94000. Here is the statistic that Kim shared: Half of all American adults read the Bible less than twice a year.
As always, thanks so much for listening!
On this episode, Kim and Katie talk through the vision and mission of She Is and what it looks like to live a surrendered life. Kim shares some alarming statistics about Americans and generations of people who don’t consider the Bible in their everyday lives. But even despite these statistics, we have hope.
What’s something we can do as followers of Jesus? We can remain rooted and grounded in the truth of God’s Word, establish ourselves in Him, and trust Him as we navigate the world we live in. This conversation covers a lot of ground, but it all comes back to the importance of our relationship with God and continuing to pursue Him in every season.
Thanks so much for listening!

The ladies also talk about the importance of community, accountability to ask for help, and helping those who realize they can’t do it all on their own.
