Stop right now and take a moment, do any of you have a person you go to when you need council, when life is hard, when you have questions, or when you just need someone to listen? On today's episode Seth and Allie talk about the importance of a mentor, what you should look for in a mentor, and how to go about finding one. We were not meant to live life alone, we were meant for discipleship/mentorship! Do you have a mentor? How did you find them? How have they shaped you spiritually? We would love to know!

Why you will benefit from having a mentor:

  1. They have already experienced the season of life that you are in and approach that season with a different perspective.
  2. They have an outside perspective on things. They can spot red flags that you can't see.
  3. They are more spirituality mature and more experienced in life.
  4. They will hold you accountable.
  5. A Protection or a Safehaven.

How to find a mentor?

  1. Look for someone from your church. Ask a small group leader or if you can't find or don't know anyone, ask a pastor.
  2. Be Bold: Ask someone you admire and respect.
  3. Go to Christian group on your campus. (if you are in College)

Much of the advice Christians get when it comes to dating is "just don't date an unbeliever." But it takes more than just being a believer to be able to date, fall in love, and choose to marry and stay married to that person for the rest of your life. That's what we share on today's show we talk about what else you should be looking for when you start dating. Thanks for checking out the Ever After podcast!
