In Acts 4:32-5:3, the early Christian community is described as being of one heart and mind, sharing everything they had, and supporting each other. However, a couple named Ananias and Sapphira sold some property but secretly kept some of the proceeds for themselves, lying about the full amount they had received. When confronted by the apostle Peter, both Ananias and then Sapphira separately lied and faced severe consequences: they fell down and died.
The passage teaches us the importance of honesty, integrity, and transparency in our dealings, especially within the community of believers. It emphasizes the seriousness of deceit and hypocrisy, warning against the temptation to pretend to be something we're not. It also underscores the principle that God sees and knows the truth, even when we try to hide it from others. Ultimately, it calls for authenticity and sincerity in our relationships with God and others, highlighting the significance of genuine faith lived out in actions.

These two actions implemented in your life will lead to a more purposeful life and fuller relationship with Christ.
Acts 4:23-31 recounts the early Christian community's response to persecution. After Peter and John were threatened by the authorities for preaching about Jesus, the believers gathered together and prayed fervently for boldness to continue spreading the Gospel. This passage illustrates the believers' trust in God's sovereignty and their reliance on His strength in the face of adversity.
In our lives today, we can struggle to trust in God when we encounter challenges, persecution, or uncertainty. Just as the early Christians did, we may face opposition for our beliefs, experience doubt, or fear the unknown. However, this passage reminds us that we can find strength and courage through prayer and community. It encourages us to trust in God's faithfulness, knowing that He is with us in every circumstance and will empower us to persevere.
Additionally, this passage teaches us the importance of unity among believers. The Danger of False Teachers
3 Dear friends, I had been eagerly planning to write to you about the salvation we all share. But now I find that I must write about something else, urging you to defend the faith that God has entrusted once for all time to his holy people.
4 I say this because some ungodly people have wormed their way into your churches, saying that God’s marvelous grace allows us to live immoral lives. The condemnation of such people was recorded long ago, for they have denied our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Keep It!
Although our homes are flawed within, there has to be something we’re doing right, remember, don’t throw the baby out with the bath water!
Take a moment to reflect on the positives in your home. There may be a few or there may be many, but it’s a great start. You can pray and ask God to shed light on those things you are doing well in and how you can continue to cultivate and grow the good in your home.This will also allow for you to see the things that need fixing.

Fix It!
Let’s not be too prideful to see where our homes are flawed, after all we are always working towards a more Godly home.
In our frustrations we may feel defeated and at a loss but remember there are such things as growing pains! God can fix anything worth keeping, but we have to be wise to recognize what needs to be tossed.
Toss It!
If it doesn’t glorify God, it shouldn’t be in your home. When renovating a home we often toss out anything bad or not worth keeping, stripping it down to just beams and a foundation. But what if that foundation has rotten and is not right? Then we rebuild. God is the only foundation to build upon, without Him you will experience unnecessary struggles and hardships. When we turn to God for wisdom His word tells us,
Luke 6:47-49
47 I will show you what it’s like when someone comes to me, listens to my teaching, and then follows it. 48 It is like a person building a house who digs deep and lays the foundation on solid rock. When the floodwaters rise and break against that house, it stands firm because it is well built. 49 But anyone who hears and doesn’t obey is like a person who builds a house right on the ground, without a foundation. When the floods sweep down against that house, it will collapse into a heap of ruins.”
