What you are going to hear tonight is an edited version of roughly the first half of South Africa’s case against Israel for war crimes at the ICJ in the Hague.
The following details all the edits that were made:
- Introductions to the proceedings, two specific judges, and specific speakers and their backgrounds were all cut out
- Procedural details were also cut out
- At around the 39 minute mark in this podcast, we reach a point where South Africa played some video evidence that did not load properly, so the first few important words were cut off. I hunted down the exact same video they used with the exact same voice-over artist doing the translation, and dropped it in at that moment, replacing the erroneously played video.
- There are several other points where a video was played that had translations on screen, so I provided the voice-over myself, reading the translations. Since this ICJ hearing is very high-level and academic in nature, I feel confident in saying that those translations are accurate, but I of course cannot be 100% sure of that, not being a Hebrew speaker myself.
This only represents half of the total proceedings. I highly encourage you to watch the whole thing at the link below, as it is very unlikely you are going to get any good coverage through most media sources. Get educated on the situation, and then spread the word to others. This is the only way that we can get justice for Palestine.

Sorry for the last two weeks folks. For some reason, the show was only saving as a draft and did not publish! Now that I am three weeks ahead, there should be continuous new shows for a while now.

The second (and final) part of my interview with the Chinese band, from Chengdu in Sichuan province, Hiperson. In this part, we discuss their influences and how they first encountered them. Each member from the band chose a band and a song, so the first long set was all chosen by them!

A really old repeat this week, going back to a former show, the Saturday Night Special! This is from August 13, 2005. It was a 2 hour show, so this is part one.
The show this week was prepared by a Chinese friend of mine who is a small business owner here in Dalian, China. All three of his businesses have a strong focus on records, especially vinyl. He picked some great stuff, so enjoy it!
Those are the words I would use to describe “Ori and the Blind Forest”, which I recently played and finished on the Nintendo Switch — a very moving experience. This is a good part to start with if you are a big fan of the Secret Chiefs 3. This part begins with the 2004 release of the “Book of Horizons” album, significant because it marks the official beginning of the satellite band concept that his informed his later career. We’ll take a listen to all the major albums as well as 1 track that each satellite band put out on 7 inch.
But there is a whole lot more to this part than just the satellite bands and Secret Chiefs 3. He has done work with a number of different artists in this period, and I have included some of the more significant ones.

Back in town with a new episode — a 2 hour special that focuses on some of the popular tracks from the two times I have taught a “History of Rock and Roll” class at my school in China to largely Chinese teenagers.
In true Indiana Jones style, I snatched the last valuable piece I could find — a rare old episode of the Saturday Night Special! That’s when everything started to crumble down around me, and I managed to jump out through a hole in the wall. Be back in the studio next week!
Managed to escape the twisted metal man machines…barely. But in my rush to get away I passed through a door I maybe shouldn’t have. There was a flash and a sound like a piano wire being rubbed by a giant saw…now here I am. This room looks old, but way in the back corner I can see a tiny little door and I swear I can hear an echoing sound saying “Hey! It’s 5:30!” Inching towards it, I grab the handle…
That door seems to have only led me farther back into the past. How big are these damned vaults anyway? Seems to be some kind of whirring noise scraping through the darkness, almost like machinery cutting through flesh…am I alone in here? Is this connected to the scream I heard before?
I swear I heard a noise off in the distance. Sounded like a door opening and closing. Or was it a scream? I’m following it anyhow. Gotta get out of these damn vaults before I start getting rickets.

Even more albums that are now at the top of my list for 2012! It’s getting kind of crowded.
New year, same old idea.
Some great albums in here this week — some that were bumped down to mere B+, and others that were bumped up to A+.
Final reassessed list will be posted once this is all done.
The saga continues…
This week, a look at the albums I said were “exceptions to the rule”. This is the year my system, which I thought was pretty good, began to first show its flaws, so I featured albums that didn’t fit in with it as a separate category but still “Best Albums”.
Most of them still fit the bill. John Zorn, UFOmammut, and Steve Moore all put out great albums. However, Sabbath Assembly and Plinth would definitely be moved down into the B category.
