On Nuestra America episode 10, we will be discussing why Latin Americans should focus on adapting Marxism to our own conditions rather than getting caught up in Eurocentric theoretical infighting. As Marxists and materialists we must be focused on the conditions that impact our people and communities and not distracted by struggles dating back a century before.
We recognize the contributions of soviet Marxism and agree that there’s a lot to learn from their revolution and their theorists. What we will emphasize, however, is that there’s a need to Latin Americanize Marxism. As Mariátegui proposed; socialism in Latin America cannot be a copy of European socialism, it has to be a heroic creation.
As always the second part of the show will be a run down of the weekly news around the region and the diaspora.

The Biden administration has set a clear course for continuing to escalate Washington’s aggression towards China. This comes at a time where movements against racism, against police violence, and for economic, social and climate justice are only growing. As the US sets the stage for confrontation with China, it’s increasingly important to think about how to channel the energy and momentum generated by these movements into preventing the escalation of violence and aggression by Washington and its allies.
To do this, an understanding of the countries they target as official enemies is necessary. For progressives in Canada and the US, an understanding of progressive movements and government in Latin America is essential. In recent decades, Left movements and governments in Latin America have won victories, suffered setbacks and sustained popular movements that progressives in the US and Canada can learn from. Accordingly, they have often become the target of the US and Canadian governments. At the same, there is growing imperial anxiety over China’s increased presence in the region – Washington’s so-called “backyard”. Far from another imperial power aiming to subordinate Latin American countries to its own interests, China’s presence in the region presents opportunities to pursue economic development without having to submit to neoliberal imperial preferences.
This panel will discuss progressive movements and governments in Latin America and their relationship with China.
Anticonquista co-editor Carlos gives a talk at London's University of Westminster on the influence of Jose Carlos Mariategui in Latin American Marxist thought. From revolutionaries like Che Guevara to Latin American dependency theorists, Mariategui's influence on the social movements in the homeland is undeniable.
Join us for a discussion with Antonio Fernandez aka King Tone, Inca of the Almighty Latin King and Queen Nation, and veteran ALKQN leader Valen aka Madrina. Sons of Fidel will discuss the Black Panther Party for Self Defense's Pamphlet entitled "Capitalism + Dope = Genocide" and how this is relevant to our families and communities today.

On Sunday, April 4, ANTICONQUISTA will be hosting a Diaspora Conference for socialist and communist organizations within the Latin American and Caribbean diaspora. We hope to transform ANTICONQUISTA into an umbrella coalition organization for these diverse movements.
We envision a huge platform where progressive, socialist and communist groups in the diaspora can collectively organize to deal with the numerous struggles we face nationally where we are but also back in our homeland. It will be the platform that our community will look to first to keep informed but also to get involved in direct action as we understand it in this modern era.

Erica is a poet, writer and organizer in Baltimore and the DMV area. She is an organizing committee member of the anti-war coalition, the Black Alliance for Peace as well as an outreach member of the Black-centered Ujima People’s Progress Party. Erica founded Liberation Through Reading in 2017 as a way to provide Black children with books that represent them.
In this session, we discuss "How Europe Underdeveloped Africa," a book published in 1972 by African revolutionary Walter Rodney, who had roots in Guyana. In his book, Rodney explains how wealth and prosperity in Europe is directly correlated with the colonization and exploitation of Africa.

Our special guest is Ernesto Ayala, a militant of El Partido Nacional de La Raza Unida. Ernesto is also on the team of Tele-Jaguar, a revolutionary Chicano media outlet. In this session, we discuss "The National Question," an essay published by Soviet communist revolutionary Joseph Stalin. It forms part of his broader work, "The Foundations of Leninism," which was published in 1953. In his essay, Stalin explains the role of national liberation and self-determination in the global socialist revolution. He also discusses the importance of supporting Global South nations in the fight against Western imperialism.

In this session, we discuss "On Contradiction," an essay published in 1937 by Chinese communist revolutionary Mao Zedong. In his essay, Mao explains contradiction, the law of the unity of opposites. He reviews the scientific basis of this key Marxist concept: dialectical materialism. He also discusses its practical application in revolutionary organizing.

The Qiao Collective is a diaspora Chinese media collective challenging U.S. aggression on China. In this session, we discuss "The Governance of China" by Xi Jinping. "The Governance of China" is a three-volume collection of speeches and writings by Xi, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China. In his book, Xi explains Socialism With Chinese Characteristics and his vision for a strong, united and prosperous China. Ramiro and the Qiao Collective also debunk racist stereotypes and imperialist misinformation about Chinese socialism.
Kayla and Danny speak with César Burga about the people's uprising for democracy in Peru. César is a Peruvian activist and sociologist with the Izquierda Socialista (Left Socialist) party.
A political education session hosted on November 13, 2020, by ANTICONQUISTA Co-Editor Ramiro Fúnez and Alexia Isais. Alexia is a member of the Party for Socialism and Liberation in Phoenix and a student of political science and history at Arizona State University. In this session, we discuss "What Is To Be Done?" by Vladimir Lenin, published in 1902. In his pamphlet, Lenin debunks the myth that socialism can be won through bourgeois electoral reforms in imperialist countries. He also outlines the revolutionary communist path toward real political change. We also discuss how Lenin's seminal work relates to the United States in the aftermath of the 2020 elections.

The election is taking place almost a year after the 2019 U.S.-backed coup against democratically-elected President Evo Morales. Hypatia lives in Los Angeles and immigrated from Bolivia at the age of 11. She’s an activist, social worker and member of Ayni Allyu. Ayni Allyu is a group of Bolivians in the U.S. resisting the coup. Hypatia is also a member of the Party for Socialism and Liberation.

In this session, we discuss “The State and Revolution” by Vladimir Lenin, leader of the Bolshevik Revolution. “The State and Revolution” was published in 1917, the same year the Bolsheviks took power in Russia.
In his book, Lenin explains the Marxist theory of the state and the tasks of the working class in the revolution. Lenin also discusses the role of the state in society and the theoretical inadequacies of social democracy and anarchism in achieving revolution.

Third Worldism argues that under the current capitalist-imperialist system, labor and resources are extracted from poor and underdeveloped periphery states to wealthy and industrialized core states. This enriches mainly white people in the core First World states at the expense of people of color in the peripheral Third World states, especially workers and peasants.
Third Worldism prioritizes impoverished workers and peasants from the Global South within the global socialist movement. They're the majority of the world's 7.53 billion people and they're based in Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean and the internal colonized nations of First World settler states. And they're also mainly women.
