Israel has never had a king like the other nations because God has always been their King. But when Samuel grows old and his sons become unfair judges, the people demand a king to lead them and fight their battles. Samuel feels hurt, but God explains that the people are really rejecting Him. Even after Samuel warns them that a king will take their sons, daughters, land, animals, and food, the people still insist.
Meanwhile, Saul is searching for lost donkeys when God leads him straight to Samuel. Samuel anoints Saul with oil, showing that God has chosen him to become Israel’s first king. Later, when all Israel gathers to meet their new ruler, Saul is nowhere to be found—until God reveals he is hiding among the baggage.

Israel loses a battle against the Philistines, and the leaders make a dangerous mistake. Instead of turning back to God, they treat the Ark of the Covenant like a lucky charm and carry it into war. But God is not impressed—and the Philistines win again, capturing the Ark and bringing it to their temple in Ashdod.
Then something shocking happens. The Philistines place the Ark in front of their idol, Dagon… and the next morning, everything is different. As the Ark is moved from city to city, trouble follows—until the Philistine rulers finally decide it has to go back to Israel. This episode reminds kids that God is holy, He is not a good-luck charm, and He always has the power to protect what belongs to Him.

Sammy keeps fixing his bike when a new neighbor boy, A.J., pops up over the fence. A.J. seems lonely, and Sammy soon learns why. Samuel is growing up in the tabernacle, helping Eli the priest. But Eli’s sons are doing wrong things, and it’s hurting God’s house and God’s people. One night, while Samuel is in bed, he hears a voice call his name. He runs to Eli—three times—thinking Eli is calling. Finally, Eli understands: it’s God. He tells Samuel exactly what to say if he hears the voice again.
When God calls once more, Samuel answers, “Speak, Lord, I want to serve You. I’m listening.” God gives Samuel a hard message about what will happen to Eli’s family because of his sons’ sins. The next morning, Samuel is afraid to share it—but Eli insists, and Samuel tells the truth. Even though Samuel is still young, God has found a messenger who will listen and speak His words.

The Shoebox Kids are studying Ruth, but Mrs. Shue has a surprise. They’re putting on a play. Costumes, sandals, and Bible-times names fill the room as Maria becomes Ruth, DeeDee becomes Naomi, and Chris tries to figure out how to play two different characters. After the laughter settles, the class starts talking about something harder: being teased. When a famine strikes Israel, Naomi’s family moves from Bethlehem to Moab. Years later, Naomi loses her husband and both sons, and decides to return home. Ruth, Naomi’s Moabite daughter-in-law, refuses to leave her and makes a beautiful promise: “Where you go, I will go… your God will be my God.” Back in Bethlehem, Ruth gathers leftover barley to help them survive and ends up in the field of Boaz, a kind relative who protects and provides for her. In time, Boaz marries Ruth, Naomi’s family is cared for, and Ruth becomes part of a very special family line that leads to King David. A tender story about faithfulness, kindness, and choosing God.

Five kings join forces to attack Gibeon, and Joshua rushes to help after praying for God’s guidance. God promises to be with Israel. Joshua leads a nighttime march for a surprise attack, and God sends a storm with giant hailstones that scatter the enemy. When Joshua sees the battle will last past sunset, he prays a bold prayer. On his way home, Sammy hears a frightened little dog and finds two boys throwing rocks. He steps in to protect her, takes her home for the night, and starts posting signs to find her family. King Balak hires the prophet Balaam to curse Israel, but God says Balaam may only speak His words. On the road, Balaam’s donkey sees an angel with a sword and swerves three times to keep him safe. Balaam cannot see the angel and gets angry, even hitting the donkey, until God lets him see what the donkey saw all along. Humbled, Balaam goes to Moab and, instead of cursing, blesses God’s people again and again because no one can turn God’s blessing into a curse. Kids learn to listen for God’s guidance, treat others kindly, and choose obedience over greed.

Willie is home sick and missing Sabbath School when his friends bring class to him. After a sweet visit and a lesson about the bronze serpent, Willie falls asleep and dreams he is in the Israelite camp, bitten by a snake. His friends race him through the crowded tents to look at the serpent on the pole. Willie chooses to trust God, looks up in faith, and is healed. He wakes to find his fever lower and learns with Mom why some people would not believe and how God’s love invites us to trust Him. Korah is unhappy that he is not a priest, so he convinces Dathan, Abiram, and many leaders to challenge Moses and Aaron. Moses prays and tells everyone to bring bowls of incense so God can show whom He has chosen. The next day, God stops the rebellion: the ground opens under the ringleaders, fire falls on the 250 men with incense, and a disease spreads among the crowd until Aaron runs with his incense to save the people. Finally, God makes Aaron’s walking stick blossom with flowers and almonds so everyone knows He chose Aaron to serve. This story teaches why jealousy is dangerous, why God’s work is holy, and how He wants us to trust His choices with humble hearts.

When God’s special tent was finished, He chose helpers to care for it. Moses called the people together and showed that Aaron would be the high priest, with special clothes that jingled with tiny bells and a shining breastplate with twelve jewels. The Levites would pack, carry, and set up the tent wherever God led. Aaron’s sons lit sweet incense from God’s holy fire, reminding everyone of His promise to send Jesus to save us. But two sons disobeyed and used their own fire, teaching the people the wrong lesson about God’s holiness. God wants loving obedience because His work is special, and He keeps His promise to rescue us through Jesus.

She opened it and saw the child—a baby crying! Her heart went out to him. She said, “This must be one of the Hebrew babies.”
Then his sister was before her: “Do you want me to go and get a nursing mother from the Hebrews so she can nurse the baby for you?”
Pharaoh’s daughter said, “Yes. Go.” The girl went and called the child’s mother.
Pharaoh’s daughter told her, “Take this baby and nurse him for me. I’ll pay you.” The woman took the child and nursed him.

Jacob left Beersheba and went to Haran. He came to a certain place and camped for the night since the sun had set. He took one of the stones there, set it under his head and lay down to sleep. And he dreamed: A stairway was set on the ground and it reached all the way to the sky; angels of God were going up and going down on it.
Then God was right before him, saying, “I am God, the God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac. I’m giving the ground on which you are sleeping to you and to your descendants. Jacob left Beersheba and went to Haran. He came to a certain place and camped for the night since the sun had set. He took one of the stones there, set it under his head and lay down to sleep. And he dreamed: A stairway was set on the ground and it reached all the way to the sky; angels of God were going up and going down on it.
Then God was right before him, saying, “I am God, the God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac. I’m giving the ground on which you are sleeping to you and to your descendants. Your descendants will be as the dust of the Earth; they’ll stretch from west to east and from north to south. All the families of the Earth will bless themselves in you and your descendants. Yes. I’ll stay with you, I’ll protect you wherever you go, and I’ll bring you back to this very ground. I’ll stick with you until I’ve done everything I promised you.”
Jacob woke up from his sleep. He said, “God is in this place—truly. And I didn’t even know it!” He was terrified. He whispered in awe, “Incredible. Wonderful. Holy. This is God’s House. This is the Gate of Heaven.”

Have you ever needed help finding something and finally thought about praying and asking God for help? In today's story, DeeDee is reminded of the story of Abraham's servant and the prayer that he asked God for help.
Bible Text:

Then I’ll know that you’re working graciously behind the scenes for my master.” It so happened that the words were barely out of his mouth when Rebekah, the daughter of Bethuel whose mother was Milcah the wife of Nahor, Abraham’s brother, came out with a water jug on her shoulder. The girl was stunningly beautiful, a pure virgin. She went down to the spring, filled her jug, and came back up. The servant ran to meet her and said, “Please, can I have a sip of water from your jug?” She said, “Certainly, drink!” And she held the jug so that he could drink. When he had satisfied his thirst she said, “I’ll get water for your camels, too, until they’ve drunk their fill.” She promptly emptied her jug into the trough and ran back to the well to fill it, and she kept at it until she had watered all the camels.

Have you ever had your parents tell you, "Just trust me." In our story today, Willie Teller learns the lesson about trusting his dad over his fears.

"Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and gave it to Isaac his son to carry. He carried the flint and the knife. The two of them went off together. Isaac said to Abraham his father, “Father?” “Yes, my son.” “We have flint and wood, but where’s the sheep for the burnt offering?” Abraham said, “Son, God will see to it that there’s a sheep for the burnt offering.” And they kept on walking together. They arrived at the place to which God had directed him. Abraham built an altar. He laid out the wood. Then he tied up Isaac and laid him on the wood. Abraham reached out and took the knife to kill his son. Just then an angel of God called to him out of Heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!” “Yes, I’m listening.” “Don’t lay a hand on that boy! Don’t touch him! Now I know how fearlessly you fear God; you didn’t hesitate to place your son, your dear son, on the altar for me.” Abraham looked up. He saw a ram caught by its horns in the thicket. Abraham took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. Abraham named that place God-Yireh (God-Sees-to-It). That’s where we get the saying, “On the mountain of God, he sees to it.” The angel of God spoke from Heaven a second time to Abraham: “I swear—God’s sure word!—because you have gone through with this, and have not refused to give me your son, your dear, dear son, I’ll bless you—oh, how I’ll bless you! And I’ll make sure that your children flourish—like stars in the sky! like sand on the beaches! And your descendants will defeat their enemies. All nations on Earth will find themselves blessed through your descendants because you obeyed me.” Then Abraham went back to his young servants. They got things together and returned to Beersheba. Abraham settled down in Beersheba.

He saw them and got up to welcome them, bowing before them and said, “Please, my friends, come to my house and stay the night. Wash up. You can rise early and be on your way refreshed.” They said, “No, we’ll sleep in the street.”
But he insisted, wouldn’t take no for an answer; and they relented and went home with him. Lot fixed a hot meal for them and they ate.
Before they went to bed, men from all over the city of Sodom, young and old, descended on the house from all sides and boxed them in. They yelled to Lot, “Where are the men who are staying with you for the night? Bring them out so we can have our sport with them!”

Do you know what tithe is? In our story today, Jenny learns the reason that God asks for us to return 10% back to Him.
Bible Text:
"The Valley of Siddim was full of tar pits. When the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, they fell into the tar pits, but the rest escaped into the mountains. The four kings captured all the possessions of Sodom and Gomorrah, all their food and equipment, and went on their way. They captured Lot, Abram’s nephew who was living in Sodom at the time, taking everything he owned with them. A fugitive came and reported to Abram the Hebrew. Abram was living at the Oaks of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol and Aner. They were allies of Abram. When Abram heard that his nephew had been taken prisoner, he lined up his servants, all of them born in his household—there were 318 of them—and chased after the captors all the way to Dan. Abram and his men split into small groups and attacked by night. They chased them as far as Hobah, just north of Damascus. They recovered all the plunder along with nephew Lot and his possessions, including the women and the people. After Abram returned from defeating Kedorlaomer and his allied kings, the king of Sodom came out to greet him in the Valley of Shaveh, the King’s Valley. Melchizedek, king of Salem, brought out bread and wine—he was priest of The High God—and blessed him:
Blessed be Abram by The High God,
Creator of Heaven and Earth.
And blessed be The High God,
who handed your enemies over to you.
Abram gave him a tenth of all the recovered plunder. The king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give me back the people but keep all the plunder for yourself.”But Abram told the king of Sodom, “I swear to God, The High God, Creator of Heaven and Earth, this solemn oath, that I’ll take nothing from you, not so much as a thread or a shoestring. I’m not going to have you go around saying, ‘I made Abram rich.’ Nothing for me other than what the young men ate and the share of the men who went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; they’re to get their share of the plunder.”

"God told Abram: “Leave your country, your family, and your father’s home for a land that I will show you. I’ll make you a great nation and bless you. I’ll make you famous; you’ll be a blessing. Abram passed through the country as far as Shechem and the Oak of Moreh. At that time the Canaanites occupied the land. God appeared to Abram and said, “I will give this land to your children.” Abram built an altar at the place God had appeared to him. He moved on from there to the hill country east of Bethel and pitched his tent between Bethel to the west and Ai to the east. He built an altar there and prayed to God. Abram kept moving, steadily making his way south, to the Negev. Then a famine came to the land. Abram went down to Egypt to live; it was a hard famine. As he drew near to Egypt, he said to his wife, Sarai, “Look. We both know that you’re a beautiful woman. When the Egyptians see you they’re going to say, ‘Aha! That’s his wife!’ and kill me. But they’ll let you live. Do me a favor: tell them you’re my sister. Because of you, they’ll welcome me and let me live.” When Abram arrived in Egypt, the Egyptians took one look and saw that his wife was stunningly beautiful. Pharaoh’s princes raved over her to Pharaoh. She was taken to live with Pharaoh. Because of her, Abram got along very well: he accumulated sheep and cattle, male and female donkeys, men and women servants, and camels. But God hit Pharaoh hard because of Abram’s wife Sarai; everybody in the palace got seriously sick. Pharaoh called for Abram, “What’s this that you’ve done to me? Why didn’t you tell me that she’s your wife? Why did you say, ‘She’s my sister’ so that I’d take her as my wife? Here’s your wife back—take her and get out!” Pharaoh ordered his men to get Abram out of the country. They sent him and his wife and everything he owned on their way."Genesis 12 (Message)

God spoke: “Earth, green up! Grow all varieties of seed-bearing plants, Every sort of fruit-bearing tree.” And there it was. Earth produced green seed-bearing plants, all varieties, And fruit-bearing trees of all sorts. God saw that it was good. It was evening, it was morning—Day Three.
God spoke: “Lights! Come out! Shine in Heaven’s sky! Separate Day from Night. Mark seasons and days and years, Lights in Heaven’s sky to give light to Earth.” And there it was.
God made two big lights, the larger to take charge of Day, The smaller to be in charge of Night; and he made the stars. God placed them in the heavenly sky to light up Earth And oversee Day and Night, to separate light and dark. God saw that it was good. It was evening, it was morning—Day Four.

Safe from the bullies, the Shoebox Kids were in Mr. Chambers' house. Would they finally find out why he had a secret room?
What did Mrs. Shue mean by Sammy should talk to his grandparents? Would they know why Mr. Chambers had a secret room?
Sammy and the Shoebox Kids told Mrs. Shue what they found out at Mr. Chamber's house. Together they look through history to try and figure out why he might have needed a secret room.
After coming back from Mr. Smith's office, the Shoebox Kids try and figure out how they can get inside Mr. Chambers house. Will they find the secret room? What was it used for?
What will the Shoebox kids and Mrs. Shue find out at the architectural firm, "Smith and Bowers"?
Sammy and the other kids met at the Shoebox where he was filling in the others about the light in Mr. Chamber's window. Would Mrs. Shue have any ideas?
While Sammy, DeeDee and Maria head to the library, they are also trying to out run the mean twin brothers. Will they make it to the library before the brothers can catch them? Will they find anything to help them figure out if Mr. Chambers' has a secret room?
Excited about the extra credit assignment, about the underground railroad, Sammy, DeeDee and Maria head to the library. But along the way they run into trouble.
Could Mr. Chambers' house have a secret room? Was it apart of the Underground Railroad?
After a fly ball landed in Mr. Chambers' house, and the Shoebox kids had to retrieve it the realized there was a random window on the side of his house.

DeeDee's Grandma fills in the missing pieces of the mystery for DeeDee, Jenny, DeeDee's brother Marcus and their mother.
Will DeeDee be able to get down out of the attack and will Jenny find a way out of the basement? Where is the family Treasure?
With Jenny in the basement and DeeDee in the attic, will they be able to find any helpful clues alone? Or will Jenny have to sit in the dark until DeeDee is able to come down to the basement?
Where was this secret passage way going to go? Is it how DeeDee's Grandmother would go see Captain Morgan?
Where had their stuff gone? Will they figure out how DeeDee's grandmother got from her room to Captain Morgan's room?
Beck at DeeDee's grandmother's house, she and Jenny start to look for clues. What will they find?
At the Shoebox, DeeDee and Jenny told the other kids about Captain Morgan and about the lost "Treasure" (Deedee's family Bible). They also learn about the "Armor of God."
Where had DeeDee's family Bible gone? Could they find any clues about what happened to Captain Morgan so many years later?
Deedee invites Jenny to spend a few days with her and her family at her Grandmother's house. What will this old house have in store for them?
What did Maria see in the diaper bag that wasn't her dress? Find out if she got to be in the wedding after all.
Where had the man and the baby gone? Could he have taken Maria's dress when it was by his diaper bag? How long could her Aunt hold up the wedding for her to find the dress?
Did Chris take Maria's dress? Will she find it in time for the Wedding? What will her Aunt say if she has to tell her she cannot find her dress?

Mrs. Sheckly stood behind Jenny and Sammy asking them the same question that had not been answered yet, " Just what do the two of you think you are doing?"
Sammy and the rest of the Shoebox Kids hurried to finish cleaning up Mrs. Sheckly's front yard. But who was watching them from across the street? What will Mrs. Sheckly's reaction be when she sees what they all have done?
Mrs. Sheckly was quite different than she first appeared. Jenny began to tell Mrs. Sheckly about the their search for the missing pairing. Could she help them find it?
After chasing after the other Shoebox Kids and finding out what had scared DeeDee in the backyard, Jenny and Sammy returned to Mrs. Sheckly's house to retrieve Jenny's sweater. But where had it gone?
Sammy and Jenny filled the rest of the Shoebox Kids in on the missing painting. In addition to helping Mrs. Wallace think of fundraising ideas for the Children's Museum, the kids were also thinking of finding the next clue.
Sammy and Jenny decided to watch the exits for the gray-haired man. There were only a few ways out of this exhibit.
