Love:

Paul is under the watch of Officer Julius , and on the way to see Caesar in Rome...they face some rocky waters! Paul is on a ship with 276 others, and they feared certain doom when a storm hits...but Paul, lead by the Holy Spirit is able to comfort them and affirm that no lives would be lost. Jesus was making sure Paul would make his appeal before Caesar.
Even the hairs of your head are numbered.

Paul makes his case before King Agrippa, sharing the story of his life as a Pharisee, to his encounter with Jesus, to the message he preached to them that day. King Agrippa is almost persuaded to become Christian....
Then he and the other Roman authorities found no fault in him, but noted that Paul still desires to appeal before Caesar.

Governor Festus does not see any guilt in Paul, and will not hand Paul over to the Jews to take back to Jerusalem to be dealt with. Paul wants to see Caesar, but first Festus needs to have a case to make against Paul before approaching The Emperor.

Paul is brought before Governor Felix to plea his case. The Jewish religious leaders are still hailing accusations about him, but Paul defends himself with the fact that those who actually saw him in action, were not present. He makes the case that these accusers cannot prove what they are saying about Paul. Paul proceeds to share his message and testimony. Governor Felix is intrigued and meets with Paul multiple times moving forward, but ultimately does not release Paul, before being replaced by a new Governor.

Paul causes a huge argument and fight between the Saducees and Pharisees, dividing the Jewish religious leaders against each other. They did not agree on what to think of Paul, or how to judge him. Thankful , the Roman Commander removed Paul from the situation safely. Later, Jesus visits Paul, and tells him to Be Brave...eluding the fact Paul will face more persecution , but that he should not worry because God is with him.

Paul faces the trouble and the chains that the Holy Spirit told him he would face. Then after being persecuted by the crowd and beaten and bound with chains, he requests to speak publicly to the crowd. His request is granted....and in chapter 22 we shall see what he says.

Paul continues to travel, preaching teaching and encouraging folks. He speaks to the believers from Ephesus, and in this text we see examples and similarities to his Epistles from the New Testament.

Paul stirs up the people of Ephesus, the masses become confused. They use to worship the goddess Artemis...but now the people are being divided. Many are beginning to follow.....the Way.

Paul meets Aquilla and Priscilla, fellow believers, and spends time working and fellowshipping with them. Paul continues to visit the synagogue on the Sabbath to reason with folks and try to convince them that Jesus is the Messiah, even after being persecuted and thrown out, he just shakes the dust off of this feet and goes to the next city to continue spreading the message.
If we don't preach, the very rocks will cry out His name!

Paul continues to get backlash from his preaching of the Gospel, but nothing stops him. No matter where he finds himself, he boldly proclaims the Good News...and the number of believers is added to.

Brother James is sentenced to death by the sword, by King Herod. This please the Jews, the Jews who were not followers of Christ, so Herod arrested Peter next...but an Angel of the Lord free Him from the prison.

Yet He opened not His mouth;
He was led as a lamb to the slaughter,

Jesus tells us of the future. No one knows the exact day and time of Jesus return, except the Father in Heaven. So be ready, and stay ready.

He gets rejected essentially, from His hometown, He sends out His disciples on a mission and gives them authority over demons, He feeds 5000 men with just 5 loaves of bread and two fish, He walks on water, and then heals another large crowd of people, all who were sick among them.

Jesus is putting in WORK...for the Kingdom. In this chapter He casts a "Legion" of demons out of a man, then heals a woman who had an issue of blood for 12 years, then raises a little girl from dead. Just another day at the office.

A crippled man is carried by his 4 companions through a massive crowd, up onto the roof of the house Jesus was preaching in, then lowered down to him through the hole they cut in the roof. Jesus, because of this great display of faith, forgave this man of his sins, and healed him. The man walked out, to the amazement of the people.
Also, Jesus acquires a new follower, Levi (Matthew), the tax collector, and invites Himself to his house for dinner.

Not even half way through the book and we are starting to see how this is going to pan out. The Jewish leaders want to kill Jesus, while His followers want Him to establish the Kingdom and do all types of mighty signs and wonders. Jesus just tells them chill...it's not my time...yet.

Jesus says because you didn't believe in the Old Testament and prophets such as Moses, then they can't believe in Jesus and the One who sent Him. Hey family! In this chapter Jesus visits a people that the Jews of His time did NOT mix with, the Samaritans. He even visits a shamed woman , somewhat of an outcast, and reveals Himself to her as the Messiah, and blesses her with the task of spreading the message to her fellow citizens.

As we come to a close, Jesus is tried, abused, and crucified, just as He predicted. His disciples for the most part abandoned Him. He has been placed in a tomb, and a stone has ceiled it shut. Guards are protecting the tomb to make sure no fanatics steal the body.
