D4J originated from gatherings of pastors across different denominations in Durbanville, who fostered relationships over several years. Each May, we conduct a month-long campaign aimed at igniting Durbanville with the message of Jesus, glorifying Him in our community. Throughout the campaign, various churches host events while preaching on the same topic each Sunday. As a church we're excited to be part of this campaign.

In light of how we have seen God with us, in similar and consistent ways to how God was with Jacob, how do we align our lives to that reality? In particular how do we make space in our daily rhythms to actually be with the God who is with us. When we consider the life of Jesus we see that he lived out rhythms of silence and solitude, prayer, synagogue on a sabbath, etc., and called his disciples to follow him in his way of life (to take up his yoke). Our lives look very different from the lives of those who followed Jesus back then. In particular busyness and digital busyness, push space for being with God, being shaped by him, and being used by him, to the periphery. In this series, we will be looking at the Rhythms and practices of Jesus and seeing how we can incorporate those into our 21st-century lives. The point is not to add more to our lives, but to restructure our lives with less so that we can be in God's presence, be shaped by him, and come to know him. The goal of the gospel is to be with God. How do we re-align our lives so that we experience that reality more and more in this life?

Good News At Last!
It’s a brand new year and the good news is that God has big plans for each of us personally. God also has big plans for our church this year.
A few years ago God laid it on our hearts to ‘Fill the city with the message, life and fame of Jesus’.
Since then we’ve been passionately committed, more than ever, to serving our city in 5 ways over the ensuing 5 years.
But we can’t do this on our own, and so through this series we’ll be exploring how through the three key areas of Faith, Hope and Love, we are being filled by God, to overflow in these areas to fill the people and city around us.
We’d love for you to join us this January to find out how God is moving in our city, and how you could be a part of making this vision a reality as we are all Filled to Fill.
