This week on LHWR, we talk with Renaut and his wife Brooke about how the dynamics of submission and leadership work together in their home ranging from decision making, to parenting, to finances, and spiritual leadership. Renaut and Brooke also authentically share the struggles they have faced in their marriage, how they continue to learn to work through those struggles in an effort to love one another and ultimately honor Christ.

As we see so many difficult circumstances surrounding our culture and also in our personal lives, it is so important to ask the question of what God may be doing in the midst of it all. Today Renaut and Joel explore how the truth of the Gospel allows us to say, "It is Well" in the midst of any and every circumstance.
Over the course of the past weeks and months since the COVID-19 pandemic began, we have discovered that we have lost much ground relationally with one another as followers of Jesus. And with everything going on in our cultural climate, we discover that the importance of connecting with one another as God's Word calls us to do is key to gaining back what's been lost.
Renaut speaks with 2 friends, Chelsea and Melo, who are Christ-followers and listens to their perspective on what it has meant to be black in America, and how the Church can learn to better reflect God's heart for unity and diversity in the body.
Renaut takes time to respond to the events that unfolded in the wake of the killing of George Floyd while in police custody. He shares his wrestle and journey as a person who grew up in South Africa during apartheid, a parent of 4 white and 4 black children, and the lead pastor of Mosaic Church, a church growing in diversity during a time when racial tension is as high as it's been in recent memory.
Renaut unpacks the tumultuous nature of the cultural climate in which we find ourselves. COVID-19, Racial Injustice and social unrest, and a looming election on the horizon. And during this time, churches have not been meeting together in person, feeling isolation, and struggling for unity. How can we make it through this storm?

God's Word is so full of incredible truth about who He is, who we are, and what He's called us to do. The only problem is, many times we have difficulty understanding it! The Spiritual Discipline of Study can change the dynamic so that we can read the Bible, understand it, and allow it to transform us into people who know God and make Him known!
When we think of Spiritual Disciplines, we rarely think about how we handle our finances, however, Jesus had a great deal to say on this subject. Today we will explore the beauty of how the discipline of generosity can contribute to our spiritual growth in a way that nothing else can.
In a culture of constant communication and instant information, the idea of Silence and Solitude is a pretty foreign concept. Yet these disciplines are incredible opportunities to grow in our relationship with God.

Why is it so difficult to care for our souls? The world we live in is so fast-paced and we are constantly bombarded with information and entertainment. Renaut discovered that taking care of palm trees reveals a spiritual principle about soul care.
Throughout the Scripture, God is consistently giving his people commands to follow. What is the purpose of those commands? Does God simply want to inhibit our freedom or thwart our desires? In this episode we will explore how being bound to God's way actually leads us to life and freedom.
When we pray, does God speak back to us or is it only a one way conversation? And if God does speak, what does He say? And how do we know if we are hearing Him and not just our own thoughts? This week we will discuss how to learn the "Language of God" so that when He speaks, we recognize His voice.
Last week we took time to unpack some common objections to the Gospel. This week we will take time to talk about some common distortions of the Gospel, and why it matters that we reject the teachings and avoid the teachers of false gospels.
As we seek to share the Gospel with others, we must recognize that people have valid questions and concerns about what the Gospel claims. We'll take some time this week to share some thoughts on how to have engaging conversations with people, acknowledging their questions, and having thoughtful insights to share with them regarding what we believe about who God is, and what God has done.
What is the Gospel? If you've been around Mosaic for any length of time you know that it's what we care about most! As we seek to become people who share the gospel with our friends, neighbors, co-workers and loved ones, it's important that we are clear on what exactly the Gospel is so that what we share with others is true, and accuratly reflective of the Good News that God's Word reveals to.
As Christ followers, we are active in sharing our faith, we are kind to people, we take time to listen to their stories, and we take time to wonder with them. The reasons we do this is because actively loving people is the very essence of the gospel, not simply a strategy to share the gospel.
During our weekend gatherings, we have been highlighting three areas of focus for Justice and Mercy. These issues include orphan care, poverty alleviation, and the abolition of human trafficking. This is an essential part of making the gospel known to our world. This week on Lunch Hour with Renaut, we will discuss how we can engage more deeply in these areas as individuals and as a community.
During the Vision 2019 series we talked about the incredible opportunity we have to Be With Jesus through Prayer, Go with Jesus through Evangelism, and preparing for the Growth that only God can bring. Over the next few weeks, we will talk about some of the practical ways we can Carry the Gospel to a world which desperately needs the freedom, hope, and beauty that can only be found in the Gospel!
