In the morning gathering, Marjorie unpacks the encounter of Daniel in the lions den and how Daniel’s posture and rhythm of prayer can be a powerful example for us. Through this lens we look at our understanding of God’s sovereignty and also our understanding of suffering.
Everyday we face choices. The experience of two Babylonian kings speaks directly into our daily lives: how unless we acknowledge God and don’t try to take all the credit then ‘pride comes before a fall’. From Daniel chapters 4 & 5 there is an invitation from God for us to do away with our pride and embrace the empowerment that comes from humility.
Taken from our 5pm gathering and continuing in our Daniel series, we look at the parallels of King Nebuchadnezzar and his successor King Belshazzar. We unpack their responses to the pride in their lives and what lessons we can learn from them today.
From Daniel chapter 3 we drew wisdom from the account of the firey furnace that faced Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego for refusing to bow down to a foreign idol. They didn't suffer from unbelief! Even though they knew it might mean suffering. How can we live in the same way?
Looking at Daniel Chapter 3, Charlotte unpacks what idols look like in the world and culture around us but also what they look like in our own circumstances, with a call to make sure that God is the highest thing in our life.
In Daniel chapter 2 we see Daniel in a very difficult place, facing an arbitrary death sentence that wasn't his fault. As he is faithful and obedient to God and stewards the power of the Holy Spirit at work within him to provide an answer. It is a lesson in honouring those we are serving, but choosing to put God first. Favour comes as we are humbly love Jesus in our everyday lives.
In chapter 1 of Daniel the 4 young Jewish lads face the power of a dominant culture trying to eradicate their faith and identity. Daniel's response is consectration, because of his confidence in God. He knows there will be challenges, but ultimately - just as today - God's people are empowered to be contageous to the cultures in which we live.
Derek begins our teaching series on the Old Testament book of Daniel with an overview of its themes, then asks the question' ‘Where was God in all of this?’

Christians are the family of God, but we're also the army of God. The bible gives a clear strategy to resist evil and temptation, and to do good. It begins and ends with prayer. Nick Allan explains the Armour of God from Ephesians chapter 6.

One of the world’s greatest questions is: WHO AM I? Where is my identity to be found? The bible speaks directly into this question in the book of Ephesians. Chapter 1 explores the impact on everyday life of Christians getting hold of our truest identity in Christ.
Jesus healed everywhere He went, and He still heals today; we should expect it as the norm as followers of His. And yet there’s an even greater miracle that healing points to - He reaches out to us in the midst of all our sin, brokenness and mess, and offers forgiveness and to make us right with God so we can live in perfect, intimate relationship with Him forever. Why is it so exceptional that Christians can say they are “one with Christ”? Why does the event of Easter change everything? Like Lauren Daigle sings, even if we feel like we’ve dug our own grave, there is always hope because: “He’s still rolling stones”.
Nick explores the reality of having oneness with Jesus Christ for followers of Him. This impacts our day to day, our mindset towards seeing His Kingdom come and is the on-going and eternal truth of salvation itself.
