Second Sunday of our Psalm 119 series, asking the question "How can you keep a young man's way pure?"
As Christians we are often quick to let others know that we believe and affirm that the Holy Spirit is God and that the Holy Spirit Indwells our lives but when others look at our lives they see none of the life altering evidence of spirit filled life. We look just like everyone else…and I believe that this is largely impart to the fact that we have simply not truly learned how to live a life being constantly filled with the Holy Spirit.
Devotion is a strong word, in fact it means “given over to the display, study and discussion of”. In other words, the things that we are devoted show in our lives, are the things that we learn more about and the things that we talk about. Let us look now at the devotions of the early church, Apostles teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer.
Therefore, lets define trust as a belief so strong that it forces action. In other words, we place so much belief and faith in Him that we are driven to be obedient and in that obedience, we must be good stewards of the life that we have been given. So, this morning lets look at the fact that in order to be faithful stewards of this life we must trust Christ with time, talents and resources.
This morning we will look at a very familiar parable from scripture in which Christ demonstrates for us God’s desire for our attitude towards our neighbors, our limitations caused by our attitude and what happens when we submit our attitude to the authority of Christ and seek to glorify Him in the way that we define our neighbor(s).
This morning, as we continue our series on Attitude Adjustment we are going to talk about what it means to truly be thankful and where better to turn than one of the many songs of praise and thanksgiving that we find in the Psalter. Turn with me to Psalm 30 as we answer four questions who, what, when and why.
As believers we must worship rightly, keep our focus on Christ in worship, and be in communion with Christ as we worship.
As we begin our walk through the book of Ruth, this sermon looks at the decisions of the three women in the first chapter and how they mirror our own lives today.
Now What? This is a topic that has been weighing heavy on my heart for some time now because the now what is specifically related to the future results of the past action of salvation…how do we ensure that those who are saved grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
