Tyler K. Allen, Tyler Allen Law Firm
Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, Tyler K. Allen is an attorney in Arizona. As a teenager, Tyler spent five years in conversion therapy. During his experience, he saw therapists use religion to shame and silence people into depression and despair. At one point, Tyler even considered suicide. Today he speaks out about his own experiences with conversion therapy, and advocates against the practice.

Senator Bowie represents Legislative District 18 in the Arizona State Senate. LD 18 includes Ahwatukee, south Tempe, west Chandler, and southwest Mesa. Arizona Sen. Bowie has championed measure for LGBTQ equality including sponsoring legislation to end conversion therapy and update Arizona’s non-discrimination law to include gender identity and sexual orientation.

Arizona LGBTQ+ History Project is a collaboration between Phoenix Pride, Marshall Shore (Hip Historian) and Arizona State University Libraries. LGBTQ+ history is under-documented in Arizona archives and libraries. We are actively trying to change that by encouraging the documentation and preservation of documents, narratives and other items that tell the state’s LGBTQ+ history.

January Contreras is the co-founder of ALWAYS, Arizona Legal Women's and Youth Services They provide free legal services to women and youth who are unable to afford legal help. A significant portion of youth needed help identify as LGBTQ.
Can a court tell a parent with sole custody & decision making authority what to NOT discuss with the child? And subsequently, order professional counseling? In this case, the child was a 5-year-old who was assigned male at birth but identified as female, and the AZ Supreme Court ruled that the lower court should not tell the father that he must not discuss this with the child. James Christian is a Phoenix attorney and he discusses this case and the pending Brush & Nib case with Angela.

He spoke with Angela about the Phoenix anti-discrimination ordinance and about encountering homophobia in his current and previous roles.
State Senator Tony Navarrette is now in the Senate after serving in the Arizona House of Representatives. He serves on the important Higher Education and Commerce committees and as one of four openly gay legislators he is particularly interested in LGBTQ issues. He is a sponsor of a new bill that would prohibit discrimination based on sexual preference or gender identification statewide.
Sharon Cini is a 2019 CCD Diversity Champion. Sharon has long personified Dr. Martin Luther King’s philosophy of unity, non-violence and respect for all through her efforts to change Scottsdale’s image from an exclusive community to a welcoming one for all.

We discuss an overview of the case, why lower courts ruled in favor of City of Phoenix, how this case is different from Masterpiece, and what are some of the probable/potential outcomes at the Arizona Supreme Court.

Deveruex Foundation has been serving individuals and families for over 100 years. IN Arizona they are commnity based, dealing with kids with mental health and behavioral challenges, and often a history of trauma. They place children in homes including over 100 LGBTQ homes.
