The first part of The Big Move Series focuses on soon to be graduates and how they are dealing with feelings of both excitement and anxiety over taking the leap into work life. Most of us have been there, trying to figure out whether we will be able to get a job in our chosen career field, the peer pressure as our friends seem to find jobs or have solid plans ahead of us. We decided to sit down with these students and figure out just how are they handling it.

In this episode, we have Adewale Adejumo, co-founder of DropStore and founder of Zasttra. He takes through his early journey as an entrepreneur, the highs and lows and how he has managed to deal with all the challenges that come with it.
Originally aiming to become a Scientist, Adewale took the turn to entrepreneurship when he realised that he could make a living off of selling goods and merchandise shipped from China to local South Africans. Starting out with 1200 rands back in 2012, and managing to turn that into 300 000 rands in thte forst year alone. This later morphed into his venture with Zasttra, an e-commerce platform and then most recently partnering with Olufemi Baiyewu ot launch Dropstore.
For Adewale, learning and reading has been a key component in achieving this goals and also overcoming the trails of entrepreneurship. Reading close to 90 books a year has developed his business skill and acumen. On his top 3 most influential books are Exponential Organisation, How to Win Friends and Influence People and The Code of the Extraordinary Mind.
Recently, Adewale has started a podcast called Happy Like Buddha, which actively aims to share insights into how to better oneself and be a more beneficial and productive individual to community.

Its 2021 and everyone is trying to make money online, I definitely have been on that search myself (which may or may not have led to this podcast). But the hardest drawback is finding the right information on how to start an e-comm business in Africa given our wonderful continent's ehhh drawbacks to say the least. Now Bernard Loots of GrowthStart and GrowthStart Insights rightly answered my questions on how to navigate the everchanging African E-comm atmosphere, what to look out for and also just how much of a challenge is it to start an e-commerce business.
In his own words, the best thing you can do for yourself is to JUST START!! Once you start, you can then lead yourself through all the murky waters of online businesses with the trusty help of the people at GrowthStart and Google. Most of the fears in our heads don't often materialise since they are only in our heads!
