When we ignore or refuse to follow the word of God, we are forgetting whose we are and why we are created. We are designing God, and we will find ourselves. A drift, caught up in the lies and schemes of the enemy. God’s word was written for us to follow without it. We are lost in walking in darkness.

When we finally let go and let God, He exercises His will in our lives and we flourish in using our Spiritual gifts.

We can find lists of the Spiritual Gifts in Scripture. The Bible mentions the gifts of the Spirit in a number of different portions of Scripture. They can be found at Romans 12:6–8, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, 1 Corinthians 12:28, 1 Corinthians 12:29,30, 1 Corinthians 13:1-3, 1 Corinthians 13:8, 1 Corinthians 14:6, 1 Corinthians 14:26, Ephesians 4:11, and 1 Peter 4:12. It is also possible that 1 Corinthians 7:7 and 1 Peter 4:9 may be referring to spiritual gifts. Some of these references are definite lists of gifts while others are passages that mention more than one gift but cannot really be referred to as lists.
God has given gifts to the Body of Christ, that’s you, to manifest His presence among us to remind us of our dependence upon one another and in doing so build unity in the Church, to edify the body, and save the lost. The Spiritual Gifts are God’s provision to equip His children to minister to others.

Personally, I could tell stories of my own missed opportunities.

Opportunities are often time-sensitive. If we fail to seize an opportunity God puts before us, it doesn’t necessarily mean God is finished with us, but it probably means He will turn to someone else who will jump at the opportunity. Taking advantage of opportunities is not always easy, but that doesn’t mean God isn’t in it. Sometimes we are met with opposition. Opposition can actually be a sign you’re on the right track and you heard God correctly.

By changing our perspective on all that we have is given by God maybe, just maybe we will hold things a bit looser in our hands and be willing to sacrifice something so another person can be blessed.
The message today is not about stewardship it is about having and offering love in many different ways. We can pare it down to if you see a need, meet the need— if you can. Superheroes are more than extraordinary, super-powered, exceptionally skilled people. Superheroes are superheroes because they utilize their abilities within a specific context to help in a specific way. If a superheroe is not utilizing whatever super power they have to help in a specific way, then they’re just not really super. As believers we’ve been given gifts that if we don’t use them to build up the body of Christ, what good are they? It takes action to step out and use our gifts to influence others and help transform the world around us.

To truly love our church, we have to love someone in our church. It doesn’t mean you are instantly an extrovert. It means we don’t live in isolation. We need one another to grow in our spiritual lives and to enjoy one another’s company. That only happens when we allow Jesus to crash down our fences that we have erected to keep others out.

Our backyards are a bit different. It’s the real us, and getting into someone’s backyard is by invitation only. In fact, we often build fences because we are not sure we want others to know what’s really going on in our lives. God isn’t a big fan of fences. God wants us to rethink our fences and if we intend to love our church the way God wants us to, then there are fences that need to come down.
