What if the greatest truth about your story is not what happened to you, but who never stopped pursuing you?
In this deeply moving episode of Living the Reclaimed Life, Robin Blumenthal sits down with author, speaker, and innovation expert Tess Jurgens to share a story of heartbreak, healing, and unwavering hope.
From the outside, Tess appeared successful. She earned a PhD in Chemical Engineering, built a thriving consulting business, authored multiple books, and spent decades helping organizations grow through creativity and innovation. Yet behind the accomplishments was a woman living through years of emotional abuse, control, and isolation.
After thirty years of marriage, Tess found herself leaving with little more than a few belongings, trusting God to lead her one step at a time into an entirely new life.
Robin and Tess also explore what it means to discover freedom after years of believing the painful messages spoken by others. Together they discuss identity, purpose, community, and the healing that comes when we begin believing what God says about us instead.
If you have ever felt unseen, stuck, rejected, or wondered if God still has a purpose for your life, this conversation will remind you that hope is never out of reach.
Tess has a book coming out soon - “Project Me: Becoming a Creative Christian Leader”

Pregnancy and infant loss is a grief that many women carry quietly. Whether through miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss, it is a journey that can leave families feeling isolated, misunderstood, and searching for hope.
In this deeply personal conversation, Deborah Murphy is joined by Kayla Fowler and Brittany Freshour, leaders of Held in Hope, a ministry that walks alongside women who have experienced pregnancy and infant loss. Together, they share their own stories of loss, the questions they wrestled with, and the ways God met them through unimaginable heartbreak.
Kayla shares the journey of multiple miscarriages, the prayers she prayed, the moments when God said "no," and how community helped sustain her faith through seasons of grief. Brittany shares the story of losing her daughter Sadie at 36 weeks, the profound sorrow of stillbirth, and how that experience transformed her relationship with God.
Rather than offering easy answers, this conversation honestly explores grief while pointing listeners toward the hope found in Christ. Kayla and Brittany also share how their experiences led them to help other women through Held in Hope, creating a place where no one has to walk this journey alone.
If you have experienced the loss of a baby, or if you love someone who has, this episode offers compassionate encouragement and the reminder that God is near to the brokenhearted.

Have you ever walked away from a conversation thinking, Why did I react like that? Maybe you've promised yourself you wouldn't lose your patience, shut down, or become defensive again, only to find yourself falling into the same patterns.
What if those reactions aren't simply about willpower?
In this fascinating conversation, Robin Blumenthal sits down with neuroscience educator and founder of the Neural Leadership Academy, Rick Griffin, to explore how our brains are constantly working behind the scenes to predict, protect, and conserve energy. Understanding these hidden processes can completely change the way we view ourselves and the people we love.
Rather than responding with shame or frustration, you'll learn how curiosity opens the door to healthier relationships, greater self-awareness, and lasting change.
Whether you're navigating parenting, marriage, friendships, leadership, or your own healing journey, this episode offers practical insights that can help you respond with greater wisdom and compassion.
In This Episode You'll Discover:
• Why knowing what to do doesn't always translate into doing it
• The surprising reason your brain falls back on old habits during stressful moments
• How brain energy impacts your emotions, communication, and decision making
• Four hidden sources of strain that affect every relationship
• Why curiosity is one of the most powerful tools for healing and connection
• How to recognize when you or someone else needs safety, clarity, rest, or reduced overwhelm
• Practical ways to pause, reset, and respond instead of simply reacting
• A simple framework that can help you navigate difficult conversations with greater confidence
This conversation will help you understand that behavior is often the result of a brain under strain, not simply a lack of character or self-control. That shift in perspective can transform the way you relate to yourself and to others.

What if we've been looking at the Samaritan woman through the wrong lens all along?
In this powerful teaching, Bible teacher Leanna Magelli invites us to take a fresh look at one of the most familiar stories in Scripture, John 4, the Samaritan woman at the well. As Leanna digs into the geography, history, and context surrounding this passage, she uncovers surprising connections between the woman at the well and Dinah's story in Genesis.
She explores what happened in the land of Shechem, a place marked by abuse, violence, betrayal, and brokenness, and why Jesus intentionally chose to walk through Samaria and stop at that particular well.
She paints a picture of a woman carrying deep pain and loss, a woman Jesus pursued, saw, and entrusted with His message.
If you've ever struggled with shame, felt overlooked, carried wounds from your past, or wondered if God truly sees you, this episode is for you.
This episode is provided by our Sponsor, Southwest Investment Advisors - "As financial advisors, they spend their careers helping people plan for the future. While supporting organizations like ours that assist families and provide compassionate care. This aligns with their commitment to helping individuals and communities thrive."
You can connect with them at www.siatucson.com. Now let's get the hot take on the woman at the well...
In This Episode We Discuss:
• Why Jesus "had to" go through Samaria
• The connection between John 4 and Genesis 33-34
• What happened in Shechem and why it matters
• A different perspective on the Samaritan woman's five husbands
• How Jesus approaches our deepest wounds
• Why God consistently values, protects, and elevates women throughout Scripture
• The difference between seeing yourself through the world's lens versus God's lens
• How Jesus redeems what has been done to us and what we have done
• Why suffering and joy often walk hand in hand
• What it means to allow God to reclaim your story
Key Scriptures
John 4:1-42
Genesis 33-34
Acts 1:8
A Final Encouragement
The Samaritan woman didn't have to explain her pain to Jesus. He already knew. He knew her story, her losses, her wounds, and He still chose her.
The same is true for us.
Jesus knows the things we've done, the things that have been done to us, and the places we still carry shame. Yet He continues to pursue us with love, offering healing, redemption, and living water.
Whatever your "Shechem" may be, the place marked by pain, loss, disappointment, betrayal, or brokenness, Jesus is willing to meet you there.
Because you are seen. You are known. You are loved.
And your story is not over.

KeriAnn's story begins in the farmlands of Iowa, but shortly after high school, with just a suitcase and a carry-on, she bought a one-way ticket to Arizona. What followed was a journey marked by heartbreak and redemption, walking through church betrayal and rejection, facing an unplanned pregnancy, and experiencing homelessness just weeks before giving birth.
But that’s not where her story ends. You’ll hear how God restored her life in breathtaking ways, including recently marrying her best friend! KeriAnn’s testimony is one of hope, resilience, and immovable faith.
Our prayer is that as you listen, you’ll hear God’s whisper to your own heart, that no matter your circumstances, He is able to rescue and restore your story, too.
If you find yourself or someone you love in an unplanned pregnancy in Arizona, please reach out to Hands of Hope Tucson at https://www.handsofhopetucson.com/ 520.622.5774 / Info@HohTucson.com

Have you ever felt invisible?
Do you ever wonder if anyone sees you for who you are, not just what you can do for them, but truly sees you? If that sounds familiar, this episode is for you.
In today’s episode, we’re continuing our Summer Sermon Series, where I’m sharing messages I’ve preached in the past that speak deeply into the real, raw places we live today.
This one? It’s all about being seen.
We’ll look at the story of Hagar, a woman overlooked by everyone but God, and discover the hope found in El Roi, the God who sees us.
So, whether you’re raising littles, navigating singleness, or feeling unseen in your current season, let this message remind you: you are not invisible. The God who sees has His loving eyes on you. He sees you, he knows you, and he loves you - may this message sink in deeply.
Before we dive in, I would like to thank our episode sponsors, Tim and Andrea Looney from the Looney Advantage at Realty Executives, serving the Arizona territory. They've been proudly serving the Tucson area, helping families buy and sell homes for over 24 years. Tucson friends, you can find them by searching The Looney Advantage on Facebook.

Welcome to Living the Reclaimed Life. I’m Denisha.
In the last two episodes, our friend Keith Ferrin shared powerful ways to approach the Bible, seven simple questions to help us engage with Scripture, and a refreshing reminder that reading the Bible is about relationship, not just information. As Keith says, “The purpose of reading Scripture is to hang out with Jesus.”
That idea leads perfectly into today’s conversation.
Have you ever believed that grace gets you in the door to heaven, but your obedience or good behavior is what keeps you there? As someone who naturally leans toward achievement, I’ve wrestled with that mindset, and maybe you have, too.
In this episode, I’m sharing a sermon I gave that challenges that misconception. We’ll explore the kind of grace that doesn’t just let you in, it keeps you, restores you, and reminds you who you truly are, not because of what you do, but because of who God is.

We know it is happening out there, but we may be surprised to hear that trafficking affects the girl next door. Sex trafficking is happening in every state, including right here in Arizona.
Sarah Buchanan, founder of Hope Rising AZ and a 16-year law enforcement veteran who served on the human trafficking unit, says there's a critical gap in services for survivors. Arizona currently ranks 13th in the nation for sex trafficking—“… yet Hope Rising Arizona is now the only restorative care sanctuary for sex trafficking survivors south of Phoenix”.
As my friend and Executive Director of Hope Rising, AZ, Andy Thomas shares, 80% of women who don't receive care will return to their abusers. The need for safe, restorative spaces couldn’t be more urgent.
In this episode, you’re going to hear the story of a survivor, her name is Selena—She seemed like the girl next door, yet nobody knew that abuse and exploitation at the age of 8--- would set her on a trajectory to entrapment in the commercial sex industry, with no way out.
This episode isn’t for children or the faint of heart, but it is essential listening. Selena’s story will open your eyes to what’s happening in our own backyard—and you will see how God has reclaimed Selena’s story; she has been rescued and restored. You will also hear about ways to protect your family and how you can be part of the solution.

Today, we’re diving back into a powerful concept that could change the way you see yourself and your story—your Primal Question.
Our last episode featured the creator of the primal question framework, Mike Foster. Today, we will continue talking about our primal question also known as our highest emotional need.
It really is the thing underneath the thing that drives everything!
What if the behaviors you can’t explain, the emotions that catch you off guard, and even the lies you struggle to shake… all trace back to one core question you've been asking since childhood?
In this episode, I’ll share how discovering my own Primal Question—“Do I have purpose?”—brought deep clarity, healing, and freedom. And how you can uncover yours too.

What do we say when life falls apart? How do we move beyond scripted responses and engage in honest conversations? More importantly, how do we wrestle with the hard questions?
If you’ve ever asked these questions, you’re not alone.
In this episode, we have a deeply honest conversation about suffering. It’s different from our usual format—we’re sharing a webinar we hosted with Susan Habegger, titled What About God? The truths she presents are so powerful, we knew they needed to reach more people.
Susan has faced suffering head-on. She’s asked the same agonizing questions many of us have:
"God, why did this happen?"
"I believe in You, I serve You—why didn’t You take care of me?"
"What good could possibly come from this?"
"Why me?"
Through her journey, Susan has found clarity in the questions that so often feel unanswered. Today, she shares that insight with you.
The content from this webinar is drawn from her book, A New Song: A Journey Through Pain Toward Healing—the foundation of our Reclaimed Life Groups. Her message reminds us that God is not afraid of our questions—He already knows them. And asking them can lead us into a deeper, more honest relationship with Him. It can help us trust Him even in life’s most painful mysteries.
By the end of this episode, you’ll hear Susan read Where Is God in the Storm?—a powerful reflection on courage, strength, and peace in the midst of suffering.
If you’re unfamiliar with Susan, she is the founder of Thrive Life Skills, a nonprofit dedicated to walking alongside people in hardship, offering hope and a path forward. As an author, speaker, and teacher, she has impacted lives around the world.
We invite you to lean in, listen, and engage with this conversation. We pray it brings you comfort, clarity, and hope.

Have you ever listened to a story and been three minutes in, and you just don't get why they're telling it? Has someone ever told you a joke, and you were the only one not laughing? I know I've been there. Have you ever missed -- the point?
Today, we will look at a parable that Jesus told, which could leave us wondering, what's the point?
This is a sermon that I gave a few years back, and I believe it is quite relevant to today. In fact, I can't shake the feeling that I think we need it now more than ever. What's the point of forgiveness?
Before we start, I want to tell you about a special event coming up on October 30th. We are hosting a live webinar open to men and women with Maurice F. Martin called "Forgiveness in Real Life." If you have heard Maurice on the podcast, you know he delivers such wisdom and grace.

In this episode, let's unpack a parable from Matthew 18, and I pray we don't miss the point. May we each come to realize that if we have been given forgiveness, then we have forgiveness to give.

What if... We didn't have to think what we were thinking. Every day, we have approximately 60,000 thoughts. Our minds are busy! 80% of those thoughts are negative, and 95% are repetitive. Before we feel defeated, what if there was a way to change our thoughts? The Bible talks about taking our thoughts captive, but how do we do that? In this episode, we welcome back Robin Blumenthal, who is going to give us three steps to take to redirect our thoughts; the best part is... you can start today.
As we get started, this podcast is a ministry of Reclaimed Story. We are an Arizona non-profit ministry dedicated to helping women heal from the pain of their past so that their story becomes their strength. We do this through small groups, conferences, workshops, and content including this podcast. One of the ways that we can provide this ministry is through our unique, truth-affirming jewelry. Our affordable and quality jewelry reinforces the truth of what God has to say about you and reminds you to keep focused on Him in your healing journey. Have you ever paused to consider your way of life? Is it defined by constant hurry, relentless hustle, and a sense of overwhelm? Do you find yourself racing from one task to the next, with to-do lists piling up faster than you can manage?
What if there were another way—a path of rest, abiding, letting go, and recharging?
You might be thinking, "But I have responsibilities, a job, a family, bills to pay, and a purpose to fulfill. Slowing down feels like a luxury I can't afford—I need to keep my momentum to be successful."
In this episode, I want to introduce you to someone who embodies a different approach. Meet Rev. Dr. Sanghoon Yoo. Despite leading multiple organizations that he founded, holding a master’s degree and a Doctor of Ministry, having a family, paying bills, and leading a trauma-informed movement across Arizona, Rev. Dr. Yoo approaches his life in a way that is truly unique. May his approach inspire each of us today.

**Have you ever felt alone? Wondering if you are the only one walking through life’s challenges?
The truth is that although the details of your particular story are unique, the emotions, hurt, pain, suffering, and loss in our stories are something we can all relate to. Even the women in Biblical times experienced what we, as women, experience today. As we dive into their stories, let their faith encourage you in your life’s challenges.
In this episode we will look at the reclaimed story of Leah from the Old Testament with Bible teacher, speaker, and coach Melanie Sunukjian.

God is in the business of rescuing and restoring. "Reclaimed" means to rescue from an undesirable state and restore to a previous natural state.Thattheme runs from Genesis to Revelation.
But God's restorative power isn't limited to individuals; it extends to families, too. Today, we invite you to join us for a deeply personal conversation between a mother and daughter. Where generational wounds and dysfunction once held them captive, they have experienced God's reclaiming power, which has led to a transformation and a closeness in their relationship that they had always dreamed of. We pray that this episode encourages you and those you love.

Do you feel trapped in a cycle of shame or secrecy, believing “no one will understand what you have been through” Or maybe you have thought, "If they only knew?"
**You are not alone. We have found that many of the things we struggle with today actually began generations before us in our families. Dysfunction and wounding often get passed down like family heirlooms. By pursuing healing for yourself, you are bringing healing to future generations... It didn't start with you, but It can end with you.
We welcome Solé Wright, author of After Some Time, to the podcast. We believe this conversation will be thought-provoking and empower you to break cycles in your life.

We are celebrating our fifth anniversary as a ministry. We thought it would be fun to introduce you to our team, many of whom serve behind the scenes.
In the last episode, you heard from Alicia and Nancy. Today, you'll hear from the rest of our team. They will share how they came to be a part of Reclaimed Story and their hearts for those on a healing journey. We hope that you will be personally encouraged as you hear from them.
As a ministry, we are dedicated to seeing lives transformed. Over the past five years, we have witnessed the extraordinary power of Jesus and reclaiming hundreds of women's stories. Through Reclaimed Life Groups, one-on-one coaching, workshops, conferences, resources, podcasts, e-books, blogs, and stories of transformation, they have captured the attention and engagement of even more women on their healing journeys.
We believe that when one person finds hope and healing from their past, generations will be changed forever. We celebrate what the Lord has done over the past five years and look ahead to what he has yet to do.

Welcome to 2024 as we start a new year; what a great time to reflect on where we have come from. This month, we are celebrating our fifth anniversary as a ministry. Much like life with God, running a ministry is an adventure.
Today, you will meet each of our team members as they discuss how they came to this ministry, what they do to serve, and their hearts for those on a healing journey.
We hope that as you hear from our team, you will be encouraged, and as you become more familiar with how Reclaimed Story serves women, you will think of us for your own healing journey and those in your life. We are here for you. That is what gets us up in the morning.
We invite you to become a partner with Reclaimed Story. This ministry is possible because people just like you give. We are so grateful for your support. Partner with us here.
To kick off this episode, we will return to 2017, when the Lord began profoundly reclaiming my story... Even when I fought Him.

**If someone were to ask you , “Who are you?” What would you lead with…your profession, your personality type, your role as a spouse or parent, even your sexuality? Seeking fulfillment, many Christians turn to identities that promise to give their lives meaning; anything that can be held up to others as the empowering core of who they are. But what happens when these new labels don’t give you any real foundation for hope or fulfillment? You can end up feeling disappointed, directionless, and defeated. In this episode, we will be talking about the masks that hide our God-given identity as well as how to replace these false identities with our true identities in Christ.
Angel and John Beeson both grew up in Tucson, Arizona. Angel received her M.A. from Westminster Theological Seminary and John his MDiv from Princeton Theological Seminary. Angel serves as the President and counselor at Whole Hope Christian Counseling. John Beeson serves as Co-Lead Pastor at New Life Bible Fellowship in Tucson, Arizona and blogs at www.thebeehive.live.**
John and Angel have a passion for helping people come to a deeper understanding of their true identity in Christ which they explore in their new book Trading Faces: Removing the Masks that Hide Your God-Given Identity. ***Trading Faces is available October 17th wherever books are sold.

**Life has this way of throwing a lot at us; sometimes, we sweep the hard things under the proverbial rug of life. I have done this most of my life, sweeping the painful moments under the rug and then wondering why I am tripping over it. I wonder if you can relate. We have good intentions of cleaning our house, yet we are doing it our way. How do we heal from things we don't want to look at? It takes courage to heal, courage to receive grace.
In this episode, Maurice is back to expand our thinking, examining why we feel stuck, what grace can mean in our lives, and how the things you experience in life shape the life in front of you.**

**We were delighted to have Wendi Lou Lee on the podcast for the last couple of episodes, who played Baby Grace on the popular TV series Little House on the Prairie. Wendi talked about how grace can hide in the most challenging moments and gave us practical ways to look for grace daily in our lives. She described it as "unexpected, obscured beauty that is often ready to bloom in the best and worst times." Wendi went into depth of what grace looks like in our lives.
Be sure to pick up a copy of Wendi's new book, Red Tail Feathers HERE Today, we are going to look at a misconception of grace. Have you ever felt like grace gets you in the door to heaven, but your own good deeds and obedience keep you there? As a person who likes to achieve, I often struggle with this. In this episode, I am sharing a sermon that I gave a few years back that unpacks this misconception, and I pray that it speaks to you today as we seek accuracy to this misconception of grace.**

Can grace be found in great loss, a brain tumor, a tense conversation with someone you love, letting go of control, learning to say ‘no’, and more? The answer is ‘YES’!! Grace can be found in every chapter of our lives, the highs and lows, and even in our darkest, most desperate moments. Wendi Lou Lee joins us again for this episode as we continue the conversation of looking for grace in every chapter of our lives.
Wendi Lou Lee is a follower of Jesus, a former child actor, and author of A Prairie Devotional and Red Tail Feathers. The four seasons she spent on Little House on the Prairie playing Baby Grace Ingalls are among God’s greatest blessings. In 2015, Wendi was diagnosed with a brain tumor that changed the direction and purpose of her life. Her surgery and recovery led to a newfound freedom, sharing her story of God’s goodness through life’s most difficult circumstances. Connecting with people—one person at a time—brings Wendi the most joy. Her new book, Red Tail Feathers, traces Wendi’s journey of discovering God ’s grace in all of life’s circumstances and challenges you to do the same.
Wendi's new book, Red Tail Feathers, is available NOW, wherever books are sold.

Do you know what hides itself in the challenging moments of our lives? Grace, and not just the grace we define as the lavish, unmerited favor and redemption of God, but the unexpected, obscured beauty that is often ready to bloom in the best and worst times. So how do we train our eyes to see it and our hearts to receive it? In this episode, we will learn how to ready ourselves to be on the lookout for grace.

When we are fearful and worried, we can remember that God is trustworthy. How do we do this? We'll talk about that in this episode with Valerie McMahon. How do we live without worry and know that God is trustworthy?**

When you hear the phrase, "God is __________," what comes to mind for you? We all have different answers, but how do we know what is true? Too often, we view God from our limited perspective. But it doesn't have to be that way. Throughout January, let's discover how to fill that space with the truth. As we look at four aspects of God's character, together, we will learn that God is merciful, trustworthy, loving, and good.

What prevents you from enjoying the gift of now? Do you ever find that the thoughts in your mind are so loud that you cannot be present in the moment you're living in? **What do you think of when you think of hope? When another person tells you something good they desire, you may say... I hope that happens; I hope you get that job and find that spouse. **Christmas is a great time to discuss reviving hope in our lives. We are celebrating the hope of the world arriving as a baby. One definition of hope is to "expect with confidence." We can put all our hope in Jesus because we have confidence in who He is.
What happens when life throws us a curve ball? When in the natural, it doesn't look as if we can confidently expect what we desire more than anything. Our guest today, Robyn, deeply desired for her son- to be healed.
As you hear her story, you will hear some very tender moments, and you will hear moments of celebration. As she takes us on her son Thomas' journey, I think you can relate to her story in many ways.
Perhaps you can relate to the tension she felt in the midst of the unknown or the number of emotions that existed in the gap between challenge and breakthrough. In some way, we have all been there.
When life throws you a curve ball, we pray that you will remember Robyn's story. That you would lean into your relationship with Jesus a little closer, worship a little louder, and allow others to carry the hope for you when it feels too heavy. May you find hope and encouragement in today's episode with Robyn.**

**How do you define HOPE? It can be easy to define hope solely in light of what we 'want' to happen or what we ‘expect’ to happen. When it doesn’t happen the way we “hoped,” we can lose hope. But Biblical hope is hope that is dependent on the faithfulness of God. Let's revive hope together in this episode with Valerie McMahon.

Have you ever got caught in the shoulda, woulda, coulda’s? Spending too much time living in that train of thought can lead to feelings of inadequacy, and we can find ourselves on the shame train. How do we rewire our thought patterns and align them with our identity in Christ?
Let's discuss that in this episode with Robin Blumenthal as we conclude our mini-series on shame. Let’s get off the shame train and embrace the identity that God intended for us.
In today’s episode, Robin quotes Curt Thompson, “We want to be so deeply known that shame has no place to hide.”

Over the past two years, many women have sat in our office and shared that they have used alcohol to deal with life and experienced shame around those choices. What may have been social at one time for them had become a way of coping with life. Some have shared that their family doesn’t know, and some have called it their secret addiction.
In this episode, we are going to shed some light into the dark corners of using alcohol to cope with life. Jenni is going to tenderly share her personal struggle, which began when she was 12 years old and lasted until her 30s when Jesus reclaimed her story with the help of a good friend. She now experiences freedom from addiction and shame because friends…. Shame Releases When Secrets Are Revealed.

What are the lies that shame tells us? I have to be perfect, or at least look like, so people will like me. I need to stuff my negative emotions so that I appear okay. I have to do more and be more to be acceptable. Those are just a few of the ways that shame shapes our beliefs. In this episode, Norma Donovan speaks directly into our hearts as she shares her own battle with shame and the keys that the Lord has given her to shatter shame in her life. As you listen, my prayer is that her victory can also be a victory for you. Let's shatter shame together.

**Every day our lives demand that we do more. More in our family, work, relationships, the list goes on and on. What about God? Have you ever felt that He is another pressure in your life pulling you to 'do' more? When we received the forgiveness of Jesus, it was based on what He did, not what we "do". He gives us unconditional love, yet we tend to apply our own set of conditions. What would it look like to live your life as a human "be"-ing instead of as a human "do" -ing?
In today's episode, join Reverend Dr. Sanghoon Yoo as we discuss faith and trauma-informed care while examining how trying to 'do' more can result in guilt and shame. That is not Jesus' heart for you. May you discover the gift of being through this conversation.

Shame. Maybe you have heard at one point in your life, "Shame on you." Shame is a complicated and pervasive feeling. It can leave us with an innate sense of feeling worthless, unworthy, or deeply flawed.
**If we want to live the reclaimed life, we must shatter shame. In the next five episodes, we will bring in guests who have not only worked to conquer shame in their lives but now help others to do the same. It’s going to be a great month. We hope that instead of hearing "Shame on you," you can reverse that narrative and begin to embrace “Shame off you.”

**Emotions are complicated; they are the reactions we experience in response to events or situations in our lives. We make decisions out of them, and emotions can lead our lives if we are not careful.
We don't have to be controlled by our emotions; we can take the information they give us, acknowledge them and then choose to fix our minds on the truth. Now, that all sounds great, but what happens when hormones are involved? We will also tap on that subject and more in this episode with Patty Cossette.

Have you ever wondered if God is always good? In our choice of words, we hear that we should try to avoid absolutes. Words like; all the time, every, always, never. As I talk with people, I try not to use language like that. Chances are, even though I may want to say... you always do this, the truth may be that they often do that, but they probably don't always **do that.
What about God? Can we say that God is always good? That His love for us is unconditional, absolute? Can we perform to earn more of His love? We will explore these topics and more in this conversation.
However you are listening to this podcast, would you be sure to subscribe, and if you enjoy this podcast, would you review and rate us? That is a big help to reach more people with hope and healing; now, let's dive into this episode with Patty Cossette.**

**How do you know when you believe a lie in your life? Sometimes they can be hard to detect; how do we live in the truth and expose the lies we believe? In this episode, Patty Cossette will lead us through the process of counteracting the lies we believe with what is true. You aren't going to want to miss this episode!
When you look in the mirror each morning, what do you tell yourself? Do you look in that mirror and say I am valued, loved, and enough? Do you hold your head high and declare that your future is bigger than your past?
Those things are true, friends! For many of us, as we reclaim our stories and heal from a painful past, those may not be the go-to story we tell ourselves; that is why we created a jewelry line just for you, when you put on your bracelet or necklace, you can declare it as you wear it.

There is an abundant number of voices that speak into our lives. Some speak the truth, call us up, and set us free; while others speak lies that tear us down and steal our freedom. In this episode, we will look at five of the ways that the enemy inserts lies into our lives and how to combat those lies with the truth. **What does it look like to be transparent with other women? When we disagree, do we lean toward avoiding one another, or do we step toward hard conversations? How do we celebrate each other as women instead of comparing ourselves?
It is possible to build one another up versus tear each other down. In this episode, I am sharing a conversation I had the privilege of having with four dynamic women on Joy Ellerbe's Titus II show****. This was originally recorded live this month, and it was so rich that I had to share it with you. Let's get real when it comes to relationships on Sister to Sister.

**Did you know that 42% of pastors considered quitting full-time ministry last year? That was a study done in 2022 by Barna Group. Just two years ago, more than 1,700 pastors left ministry each month, according to Lifeway. Why are we seeing this trend? The biggest reason is burnout.
In this episode, you will hear from Zach and Anne Imboden; you may remember Anne from last week’s episode. Zach has been in pastoral ministry for 20 years, and he will give us a front-row seat to what burnout looks like and how we, as the Church, can best support our pastors. We can learn what burnout can look like for any of us, regardless of our profession.**

**We live in a hustle culture, that tells us to go. go. go. Accomplish more, when you achieve all the things, maybe, you will have done enough to earn God's love. Friends, that couldn't be farther from the truth.
The truth is, it's not about working faster or smarter or proving yourself to God. It's about slowing down, taking the time to know God, and being known by Him that you have the grace to do what you are called to do.
What if you can accomplish more by resting in His goodness and simply being a daughter of the King. That truth is the passion of our guest today, Angela Pitkinoff. We are glad you are here for this episode.

Have you ever heard the saying, "keep the past in the past"? Today's episode is going to challenge that advice. Often, we don't want to unpack the pain in our past because we think that we are going to get stuck there, or that the pain would be too deep. The truth is, the echoes of our past are already affecting our present reality, and pursuing healing is so worth it, let's talk about why. Join us for this episode!

In this episode, I am sharing one of the most life-changing moments in my life. A day that was so excruciating for my heart, that I walked away from God. Yet... Everything changes when we realize that even in the hardest moments, God is with us.

In this episode, I am sharing part of my story, that I don’t often share as I was invited to join Patty Lynn Wyatt on her Podcast, “Girlfriendit.” I am a recovering emotional stuffer. In my past, I have stuffed hard emotions behind closed doors. That didn't help the pain, in fact, it just housed bitterness and anger in the dark.
What you are going to hear today is what finally helped me. When God began to knock on that door… the one I wanted no one to know about, the one that I wanted to forget about. It was him who brought safety, healing and wholeness to those places of harm in my heart. If God can do it for me, He can do it for you.

Have you ever missed the point? In this episode, we are going to look at a parable Jesus shared that could leave us wondering... what’s the point?
I believe we need to understand the point of this parable now, more than ever. What’s the point of forgiveness? In this episode, let’s unpack this parable from Matthew 18. May we each come to realize that if we have been given forgiveness, then we have forgiveness to give.

Last year, while we were in quarantine, friends and I recorded a panel to discover each other's perspectives from different generations. Our hope is that you are inspired to celebrate each generation that crosses your path, that you would see opportunities to learn from one another, honor one another, and be intentional about engaging together. It is through this time together that we will see the blessings that God has hidden in each generation for us to find.

As an adult, she words fervently as an advocate for children in foster care and stands firmly to save the lives of children across the globe.

Depression and anxiety are real struggles that can affect every part of our lives. Sally Knipe shares about her journey from barely being able to get out of bed in the morning to once again living her life. What are some next steps you can take if you are battling with one or both of those? Join us for this conversation.
You can find Sally’s book, “The Do’s and Don’ts of Grief” HERE
The Do's and Don'ts of Grief: How to Handle Grief after a Loss "Your life has been turned upside down, and nothing is 'normal' as you know it. If you thought you were in control, you certainly are no longer." Tragedy can strike suddenly and change all you know in an instant. Grief follows behind causing everything to spiral out of control.

Think God is finished with you? In this episode, we are interviewing Nancy Nelson. She is our very first guest, because, well she is the glue that keeps this organization running and we LOVE her!
God brought Nancy and me (Denisha) together as we both worked at our church. Nancy, as an executive assistant for 28 years and Denisha as a pastor for 10 years. Never could we have imagined that we would be working together leading Reclaimed Story! Nancy is the Executive Assistant for Reclaimed Story.
Hear the God story that got us started and her encouragement to you if you have ever wondered if God was finished with you.
Want to connect with Nancy? You can find her inside our private Facebook page, “Living the Reclaimed Life”
