This is a general podcast wherein Spencer and Lee will review TV shows they are interested in or think warrant discussion. It's pretty great.
Spencer and Lee have a grand old time talking through the exact dynamics of the Daniel and Helen budding romance, Juliet's showdown with the maybe-AI, Harriet Walter's A+ performance and what feels off about Knox and Shirley. Good times.

Somehow, Ted Lasso returned. Spencer and Lee dive back into the wonderful world of Biscuits with the Boss, Keely-squeals, Higgybottoms, Rebecca's fits and our favorite coach from Kansas City, Missouri (or is it Kansas?). Spencer is very skeptical about this show returning... how will the restart land with him?

Spencer and Lee review the penultimate episode of House of the Dragon, Season 3. Lee is sick for this one (again), so apologies for any coughing, etc. However, there was a DRAGON FIGHT and Lee couldn't miss the opportunity to break it down, moment by moment, and power rank each dragon pre and post fight. Oh, and they review the rest of the episode.

In a shocking turn of events, Spencer comes out in HUGE support of the show this week- opening with "this was my favorite episode of the season." Really interesting discussion follows about the episode, expectations for the show, adaptation choices, Common's acting and the current vs flashback timelines.

Spencer and Lee are boarding very close to outright disliking much of this show. Frustration abounds this week as the guys dive into HBO's House of the Dragon, Season 3, Episode 6 "Faceless Men." Spencer comes with a list of gripes, Lee attempts to move the conversation more positively (but then the issue of the script comes up...), and they both can't wait to talk about THAT ending.

Spencer and Lee break down episode 4 of the Apple TV+ series "Silo." They continue to rave about the flashback timeline, award some kudos to a few of the show's actors, break down that reveal, and call out a few fans who guessed it correctly. Lots of energy in this one. Great season of TV so far.

Spencer and Lee work their way through a transitional episode of HBO's House of the Dragon, Season 3. Episode 5 moved a lot of plot lines forward and the guys attempt to untangle them in this recap. For instance, Lee attempts define exactly what the "family drama" and "mommy issues" are that seem to be plaguing the Targ boys. There is the requisite fussing about dialogue and plot, and Lee comes up with the Unified Theory of Why The Show Isn't As Good As Game of Thrones (theory name still under development). Plus, Spencer leads the recap!

Spencer and Lee descend into the Silo to review Season 3, Episode 3 "A Dark Web." Lee gets a lesson on catchy podcasting from his AI while double dog daring the show AI to act. Spencer finds a few plot elements to logically deconstruct, however, on the whole, appreciated a solid, mid-season transition episode. RIP Orla and welcome back Lukas. Let's put our gas masks on and theorize about the grey-haired man. It's a party.

Spencer and Lee mount their wild dragons this week to journey to Tumbleton, visiting with a rather rude Commander, Lord Ormund Hightower. They differ a bit on their thoughts about this episode. Spencer highlighted a few scenes that really worked for him, and Lee took every opportunity through 85 minutes to convey his disappointment in the script writing. At the end, they start to frame what they think HotD's legacy will be in the larger Westeros-verse.

Spencer and Lee descend into the down deep to tackle season 3, episode 2 "of the Apple+ TV series "Silo" titled "It's All Good." Lee is sick in this one, and has a hoarse voice, so apologies in advance if the audio is a little rough. He's drinking plenty of Vitamin D+ laced hot tea and should be back to shipshape next week. Lee continues to enjoy the flashbacks and Spencer thinks the Congressman isn't worthy of a mailroom position (or apparently air?). This was a fun one.

The Queen sits the Iron Throne and it looks like she's ready to one-star the position. Ruling isn't all it's cracked up to be in this mid-season (!!) episode of Season 3 of House of the Dragon. Spencer and Lee start the discussion by giving updates on their general feelings about the show: what, at a macro-level, is working, what are areas of concern, and what the season needs to do the rest of the way. Spencer (sort of) admits he's wrong and Lee really digs in on the acting performances. Good times all around.

Spencer and Lee descend back into the Silo (and turn the clock back) for an absolutely compelling premiere of season 3 of the Apple TV+ series "Silo." Both Spencer and Lee were impressed with the premiere, although Spencer (predictably) has quibbles with one huge trope (yes, that one). Spencer also works in a recommendation for the original Tarzan novels.
MTTV will be covering each and every episode of Silo season 3, hope you join us.
Fair warning- Lee wasn't feeling well this episode... He promises to tighten things up and make Mayor Juliette (who is totally, actually Juliette) proud with his performance next week.

It's go time Team Black, but at what cost (tm). Spencer and Lee review a thoroughly enjoyable episode of House of the Dragon- Rhaynera mourns (and conquers), the Sea Snake gets settled into being poor (again), Caraxes and Syrax get fresh, and Daemon is simultaneously awesome and moronic. Lots to discuss in this jam packed episode.
Warning- Spencer's audio is bad this week (he's traveling), we forgive him for this, but. not for his bad Alicent takes.
Check us out at www.mangumtalks.com or mangumtalkspodcasts@gmail.com or facebook.com/mangumtalks. Please review us and let us know what you think! If you must give a one star review, please make sure it references Spencer's poor takes.
Spencer and Lee hop into their dragon mounts and take flight for the premiere of season 3 of HBO's House of the Dragon. Can the show redeem a subpar second season? Will Aemond leave Kings Landing? Will Corlys make peace with his (remaining) sons? Will Daemon and the Starks [new band name] find the Hightowers? Will Rhaynera ever leave that room? LOTS of questions as we kick off what will surely be a fire breathing, plot moving, monarch shifting season in Westeros.

Spencer and Lee review the final (so far!) season of Amazon's The Expanse. Due to the truncated season and it being the last season (so far!), this was a heavy book vs show discussion. Warning for book spoilers through book 6 "Babylon's Ashes" and all short stories through 'Strange Dogs.'
This was an absolute BLAST. Thank you all for strapping in your suit, passing through the crew assess arm ,and loading up the Roci with us. We really enjoyed this and will absolutely be doing more Mangum Binge Rewatch episodes between coverage of ongoing shows going forward.

They talk through the primary 4 plot lines of the season: the election on Earth, Bobbie's roving on Mars, the Belter beefs and whatever the hell is happening on Ilus (New Terra). Spencer and Lee review a FIRE season SyFy's The Expanse. Spencer and Lee are on the float again! The guys discuss their rewatch of season 2 of the SyFy/ Amazon Prime series "The Expanse." This season does a lot of heavy character development work, so the they work structure the pod around character arcs. They also go deep into protomolecule rules (magic?) and Lee gives significant book-to-show perspective throughout.

They break down backstories, motiviations, production and acting queues to contexualize the events of the episode against the background of larger A Song of Ice and Fire world and history. By the end, the guys were ready to be Dunk's #6 and #7. Really fun episode to review.

Warning- Spencer and Lee didn't exactly love this episode, or the back-half of season 2, for that matter. They do make an effort about 31 minutes in to get a little more positive, but they have a lot to say about what worked and (moreso) what didn't work in this finale and in season 2 as a whole.

Spencer and Lee roll the clock back and do an old school version of the podcast. They go line by line through the episode and dive deep into the lore of Westeros. Show episode run time- 33 minutes. Podcast episode run time- 1 hour and 41 minutes. Completely. Ridiculous. But a whole lot of fun.

Fair warning- Spencer and Lee have such strong feelings about this episode, the various plots, where things are going, what the show is trying to say, and how this all relates to Lee's strong dislike of "The Pit" that they never get to the script. Great discussion via a short-form episode.

Spencer and Lee begin what looks to be a season long battle about the quality of season 2 of Amazon Prime's "Fallout." Weirdly enough, the first battle line seems to be drawn over Macaulay Culkin. Oh, and Lee plays right into a Kumail Nanjiani standup joke... Good times all around.
