Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. The phrase quid pro quo is from Latin and literally means this for that. It refers to an agreement between two parties where each gets something in exchange from the other. A quid pro quo can be innocent or it can be corrupt. It all depends. Quid pro quos are the way in which all nations do business with each other, and make agreements and treaties. All President Trump’s enemies can talk about is his supposed quid pro quo with Ukraine. But what the president was seeking in his phone call with the Ukrainian president was help in rooting out corruption. We had evidence that Obama’s policy toward Ukraine was affected by all the money Joe Biden’s son was receiving from Ukraine for a business he knew nothing about. That’s corrupt. When Trump asked Ukraine for help in stopping this corruption, he wasn’t doing something impeachable, he was just doing his job.
