This is a podcast on the book "The Things They Carried" and in this podcast, we cover "Friends", "Enemies", "How To Tell A True War Story" and "Speaking of Courage". We chose the pictures because it shows The Vietnam War. It has a picture of a knife which starts off the relationship between Dave and Lee on the "Friends" and "Enemies" chapters. It shows a guy after the Vietnam war which represents Norman Boker after the war because that's what "Speaking of Courage" was about.
The pictures show the Vietnam war which is where the book takes place. It shows what Martha could have looked like which is a character the main characters in the story talk about. It also shows a few things the soldiers went through like tragedy and physical injuries. These pictures overall show the Vietnam war.
