Listen as Adam & I discuss..
Today I talk about what the Byzantine General's problem is, how Byzantine Fault tolerance works and how Bitcoin solves this problem.
Facebook's launch of "Libra" their cryptocurrency is a clear signal of confirmation that Bitcoin is legitimate and here to stay. Libra is poised to take on the existing financial structures from banks to Western Union like remittance services, and it is also the creation of a surveillance state that has only until now been a nightmare of dystopian fiction, so what does this mean for you, the world and generations to come?
The Minicast is a way for me to help people new to the space to understand terms and concepts in Bitcoin they are seeing for the first time in a concise and detailed fashion. Today I talk about HODL, a term that was coined in 2013 and is now ubiquitous in the Bitcoin space.
United Corp has claimed anti-trust against BitMain & many of the big players in Bitcoin Cash. Does their case have merit? What effects will it have on the larger Bitcoin/crypto space as precedent? I am joined by Dr. Konstantinos Stylianou to discuss this case and its far-reaching implications in the world of Bitcoin and Law.
Listen as Konstantinos and I discuss..
Bitcoin is more than just software, it is a complex mixture of economics, game theory and theology. If Bitcoin had no Faith, no Religion, no Zealotry it would be dead by now; it is precisely because it has these features that it has become successful. Find out why the Cult of Bitcoin maters and how this understanding will help you see where we are going.
Listen as Vin and I discuss..
Toxicity has been a topical subject as of late in the Bitcoin world, surrounding the supposed vitriol and shouting down of opposing views in the space by those in Bitcoin called "Bitcoin Maximalist's". In this episode, I explain why toxicity exists and is a natural outgrowth of Bitcoin culture, that what has led to Bitcoin surviving and thriving is why the so-called "toxicity" exists and without it, Bitcoin will die.
Every podcaster in the Bitcoin has to choose to be a pundit or a journalist. I struggle with this very question as I try to determine where I want the direction and my place in this space to go. As a journalist, to do it properly I could not voice my opinion as that would undercut my credibility to be objective, however, I would need to make people aware of my beliefs so they knew where my baseline was. As a pundit, someone with a mic and opinions, I would also be freer to be myself which is where I like to be. This episode is about how my thought process is on navigating this very stretch of murky waters.
Stephan Kinsella is a registered Patent Attorney and Libertarian Activist who has been a passionate advocate for the abolishment of the patent system and its dangers to innovation and freedom.

Phil Zimmermann is a legend in the cypherpunk community, he developed the technology PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) which was the most popular email encryption program in early internet history. He released it to allow people internationally to encrypt their communications from autocratic regimes. He risked fines and jail times to do this and eventually won, allowing PGP to LEGALLY proliferate. This is one the most important stories in cypherpunk/Bitcoin history.
Phil and I talk about...
➡Cypherpunks in the 90's
➡PGP the early years
➡The fight with the State Department
➡Hal Finney
➡Hal Finney and Bitcoin
➡Phil's problems with Bitcoin
Peter's podcast, What Bitcoin Did is becoming one of the most popular in the space and has become well known as well as a Lightning Rod (pun intended) in the Crypto Twitter Community. This was a great interview as Peter and I are very much on a similar wavelength in alot of ways as we discussed our views on the need for a better understanding of marketing, the lack of it in the Bitcoin space and many other topics.
Peter and I talk about...
Today I welcome Paul Rosenberg, cypherpunk, author and activist to talk about an unknown chapter in the liberty movement and cypherpunk history. The story of Bitcoin is inexorably intertwined with the story of the liberty and cypherpunk movements as their story, their accomplishments and their failures is what led to Bitcoin. Paul's story is one that combined the libertarian ethos of a space for people to live in a free market and the cypherpunks that wanted to defend the already free spaces of the internet from encroaching cyber tyranny.
Paul and I talk about...
Today I welcome JW Weatherman of Twitter fame to talk about all things Lightning Network, 2nd layer and sidechains. This is a subject that I admittedly am woefully uneducated in and a month or so ago I decided to really start learning how all of this works since it is not beyond talk and speculation and is now a reality.
JW and I talk about...
Today I talk to Christopher Bendiksen about the massive misunderstandings and bad data floating around regarding Bitcoin's energy use and its impact on the environment. Christopher works for Coinshares a firm offering private strategies in the Bitcoin space who authored a whitepaper on Bitcoins energy through intensive research and interviews with players around the world.
Christopher and I talk about...
Today I talk about the mistakes that I have made in this space and the money I have lost. There is no substitution for experience and knowledge and I have learned so much in this journey, but most of my learning has come from the previously private and now public mistakes that I have made. I hope that this helps others to recognize where they have gone wrong and to learn from it as I have.
in this episode I talk about...
In this episode I talk to Marco Peereboom, Hacker, Decred new systems development lead and CTO of company zero about the Decred project and how it aims to upend the fiat paradigm and become a global currency. Decred is a hybrid proof of work/proof of stake system that makes forking and 51% attacks nearly impossible and adds a layer of governance thats missing from Bitcoin. A very intriguing project.

The Decred Proposal System
What is the Decred DEX

In this episode I talk about Namecoin, the first altcoin and its lessons for the Crypto space as a whole. Namecoin was the first "altcoin" and sought to create a decentralized DNS service, an internet that wasnt controlled by ICANN and not subject to censorship. It's goals were laudable, the ability for it to achieve these goals are debateable, however It's failure is one that plagues Bitcoin itself. Near total lack of understanding of the limits, wants and abilities of consumers. I talk about...
In this episode I talk to Emily Coleman, Chief Marketing Officer for ShapeShift.io a platform that allows for quick swaps of over 30 cryptocurrencies and tokens. Emily talks about a topic that I am extremely passionate about, that being increasing the focus on improving the UX ( User Experience) in the Bitcoin space and storytelling.
Marketing when done right is storytelling and every major social movement has required good storytelling to begin, grow, conquer and thrive. Bitcoin has had many stories in existence, and we need to find the next on that will connect with the public at large to increase adoption.
In this episode I speak with Prof. William Luther about the question of whether Bitcoin is money or not. In past episodes I have spoken to multiple economists who have made the case that Bitcoin does meet Mises Regression theorem for money, however Prof. Luther makes the counter case for this and many other things.
This was an interview that I realized that very quickly I was talking to someone at a very high intellectual level but able to beautifully craft an easy explanation of a complex subject. Enjoy!

In this episode I speak with Luke Mulks, Head of Business Development for the Brave Browser and Basic Attention Token. Brave is a browser concept that makes privacy easy, their philosophy is to have it come baked into the product and make privacy something you shouldn't have to think about.
Basic Attention Token is aimed at making the problem of advertising in the modern age profitable for both content creators/publishers and users. No one likes ads, but what if you had a choice? What if you could be paid to watch the ads that you see in front of you right now? Its a very neat concept.
Luke and I talk about...
-His life before Brave/BAT
-What Problem does Brave solve?
-How can BAT pay you to watch ads?
-How will BAT help content creators?
-The Privacy dilemma of our time
-The AWESOME UX philosophy behind Brave

In this episode I speak with Andrew Yang, a member of the Litecoin Community, founder of LiteSchool and COO of Blockfuse about the long term efficacy of Litecoin. In Episodes 16 with Kurt Wuckert Jr. andEpisode 18 with Murad Mahmudov I leveled criticisms against the use case for Litecoin and felt it was only fair to allow them to counter my arguments and make their case. This was a very fun episode, and I will let you make up your own mind.Andrew and I talk about…
In this episode I am joined by the Bitcoin Heretics, a group of Bitcoiner's from differing tribes & viewpoints; Vin Armani is a Bitcoin Cash/Coin Agnostic, Chris Derose is from Bitcoin BTC and Daniel Krawisz is aligned with Bitcoin SV. Robert Murphy has been someone I've been following for years via his work with the Mises Institute and his work with Tom Woods of the Tom Woods show. We talk about the Austrian School of Economics which is best described as one that promotes a truly free market and intricately part of the Bitcoin story. I would argue that Bitcoin could ONLY arise from someone with a deep understanding of Austrian Economic theory.
Today I welcome Pierre Rochard of the Noded Podcast and well known Bitcoin Maximalist to talk about his views of the Scaling Debate and how Bitcoin can become global money. Last year in August of 2017 Bitcoin split because of the differences in approaches between these two groups. This is the second of parts featuring individuals from each side of the debate so that the public and newcomers can understand WHY it happened.
