Join us for a very special interview with our friend, our partner author and music producer Sean "XLG" Mitchell.

Sean is back with an amazing book titled, "The African American Spiritual Practice of Seven Keys To KA-MAAT."

This book centers around:

The African American spiritual practice of Seven is the number that symbolizes Ka-Maat. The number seven has a spiritual significance as the human body has seven orifices and seven layers of skin. There are also seven days in a week, seven notes on a musical scale, seven seas and continents. As a spiritual practice, Seven represents the number of characters in Ka-Maat, six letters with a hyphen that adjoins and unifies its meaning. Equally, there are seven letters in African. Therefore, we use Seven and Ka-Maat interchangeably as both refers to the African American spiritual practice. The word Ka, pronounced Kah, is an ancient Egyptian word that means the vital energy which both sustains and creates life. The word Maat, also of Egyptian origin, means truth, justice and rightness. Together, Ka-Maat means energy in harmony with truth and righteousness. As a spiritual practice, it is defined as a lifestyle and a commitment to serving the Creator, along with uplifting ourselves, our family and community through on-going acts of positive thoughts and deeds. The practice of Ka-Maat begins with understanding the correlation of the mind, body and soul. The three components of a being are intended to work in harmony as the engine, tires and a driver successfully operates a vehicle. If one component fails to work it renders all three useless. Therefore, the holistic wellbeing of a person is stressed upon and imperative in the practice of Ka-Maat.

Join us for a very special episode on domestic violence, the black lives movement, and politics in our black communities.

This last week has been out right horrible and tragic. We've seen two tragic deaths of two humans being killed by police officers.  Both were black men who had run-ins with police prior. Both men were fathers, and both men were going about their business as usual when their lives ended.  Two situations but very different in every way.  The sad part is that these situations have happened back to back before and there was no real change.  We now have the same thing, but will there be any real change with the gun laws, or any real change in how police depts approach training. All we can do is hope.

As these tragic situations have happened a group calling themselves "Black Lives Matter" have come-up as they say.  Many say this group is protesting peacefully, but then many say they are protesting violently.  With some attributing to them screaming obscenities and shouting "kill those pigs (refering to police officers). The most alarming bit to this group are the messages between this guy and girl who say are the faces of "black lives matter." Those messages display a plan called the "summer of chaos." That plan is a plan to disrupt communities as well as the democratic and republican conventions that will be happening this month. Those plans are plans to cause chaos any and every where necessary. Tragic I know. One would think this group would want to help their fellow black folks instead creating trouble, more arrest, and possibly more killings. We will see.

Tune in as we serious matters. Stay tuned and keep it locked.

Join us as we welcome a well know guest back to our show, "Joyce T Strand."

Joyce will be here to chat about her new book titled, "The Reporter's Story." Which is now available for pre-order at many online retailers.

About Joyce:

Joyce T. Strand is the author of who-done-it contemporary and historical mysteries set in California. All of her published six novels are inspired by actual events and/or real people, although they are definitely fictionalized.

Strand headed corporate communications at several biotech and high-tech companies in California's Silicon Valley for more than 25 years. Unlike her protagonist Jillian Hillcrest, however, she did not encounter murder in her career. Strand lives with her two cats and collection of cow statuary in Southern California, and enjoys exploring and writing about the growing wine region in the Ramona Valley near San Diego.

About "The Reporter's Story:

Emma Matheson is a reporter who is a bit naive.  She picks up on this suspicious burglary that has a lot more questions than answers. 1912 was the year and for many who wasn't wealthy it would seem suspicious to not claim your values. Especially values worth 8000 thousand dollars.  This very thing is what piques Emma's interest immediately.  Emma dives in and finds that while investigating what was said to be burglary isn't what it seems. Could this be the story that will make Emma Matheson a world famous reporter?

This mystery will keep your eyes glued to the page for sure.

Join us for a very special episode of, "Life Isn't A Dress Rehearsal: Domestic Violence-Speak Up.

Domestic Violence is a problem in every community all over the world.  It's an epidemic among women and children.

It's normally committed by someone who says that they love you or someone who's supposed to take care of you and keep you safe.

It's a crime that goes unreported or in most countries it's not even considered a crime.  Women are left to fend for themselves or are killed by their attacker.

For kids that experience domestic violence, many are silent and are too afraid to tell anyone.  They live with it into adulthood and have a plethora of issues because of it.

Today we are shining a light on this epidemic because it's an issue that's near and dear to us.  It's important for us as women to speak up and talk about it.  It's important for us as mothers to speak up and talk about it.  It's important for us as a community to speak up and talk aobut it.  It's important for us to stand up against it and say no more.

In our daily lives we encounter people who seem like they are very confident.  They seem as if they have it together, but in reality they are souless, unsure of themselves, infused with hatered, and have no confidence whatsoever.  These people are people that are bullys, people who care only for themselves, and are driven to hurt others.

These individuals have what we call a false sense of self.  They walk around as "right fighters" and believe their own hot mess.  They carry themselves as if nothing is wrong with them but everyone else has issues. Again a false sense of self to the fullest.

Most of you have encountered people like this, whether in relationships, a marriage, family members or collegues.  Who ever it is, you have come into contact with a person like this at one time or another.

But unless the boy identifies his partner, the Judge must sentence him as a murderer, which would result in prolonged jail time. The Judge’s investigator, along with the precocious 16-year-old girl who identified the boy as one of the thieves, explore different approaches to uncover the murderer. Join us for another informative episode of "Life Isn't A Dress Rehearsal."

On this episode we will be discussing, "educating yourself on yourself."

This means getting to know who you are, always staying in tune with your actions, and living your best life possible.

We all know that it takes daily work to keep up with everything. Going through "it" for some us means, the daily struggle to just trying to figure out a task at work.  Most of all it means keeping our "heads above water" as they say.  All of those things means everyday folks going through the motions.  What it doesn't do is give us what we truly desire, and that is, "happiness in everyday living."

Happiness in everyday living means waking up with grattitude and living in the moment no matter what.  It means truly being in tune with "you" and living a "soulistic" life.

Hopefully we all can do just that.

We will be joined by a very special guest and long time friend of the Diva's House network, "Douglas Showell."  He will be joining us discuss racism in America from a "black mans perspective."

Racism in America is an on-going issue, especially when it comes to blacks.

Case in point...Ferguson MO. The tragic event that happened in Ferguson regarding the shooting and death of Michael Brown has rocked not only the small city of Ferguson but the nation.  So many has come out and said their piece and rant and raved about this awful tragedy.

As we move forward we have to start to come to some resolution on the matter and how blacks can work with with their majority white police forces not just in Ferguson, but in other cities as well. Many say it can't be done, but we say if folks just work together and put some verbs in their sentences then, anything is possible.

Events like Ferguson and in other cities doesn't just happen.  It happens for a reason. It's mainly those reasons racism is alive and well.

The book shows the systematic abuse of children around the world from the Nazi era until now. The book connects the dots, showing that the abduction and abuse of children around the world is no coincidence, but planned and orchestrated social engineering, designed to destroy the family, the rockbed of the nation state. Far from being cared for, children in care are not being neglected at best, mistreated at worst, and in many cases systematically abused.

Join us for our gripping and tell it like it is series; "Life Isn't A Dress Rehearsal."   On This episode we will discuss how individuals hold grudges.   Everyone knows that when someone hurts you, you should deal with it and keep it moving.  However, everyone isn't wired that way.  Some folks "hold grudges."  These are the people who can't seem to get around what was done to them. They will say they have forgiven the individual but in reality they aren't trying to get over the issue they have with that individual.   Grudges can be cancerous, toxic, stressful, and down right tiresome.  When you hold a grudge you aren't "winning", or coming out as the bigger person.  You are saying, that you can't get over it, so therefore, holding a grudge is your only option.     Well, it isn't your only option.   We all know that, if folks take the time to talk with people and work on themselves then holding a grudge wouldn't even be an option.  They would simply just face it and keep it moving.   Tune in as we tackle why people choose holding a grudge over facing their issues and keeping it moving.   Stay tuned and keep it locked.

Join us for our fun, exciting and very popular series "Diva's Nation." One this edition of Diva's Nation we will be discussing "the business of self." The business of self, is all most of us have and own.  We wake up, get dressed, go to our 9-5 and then come home and do it all over again. This is the lives most individuals live day to day.  What we are not doing is putting that buiness to work.  That means investing in the upkeep of ourselves. Up Keep of the human mind and body is very time consuming and tideous.  Many individuals would rather not do it because, well, most are to lazy. So what we are left with, is a society that bascially don't do, think or invest themselves.  They take their investment (time, energy etc...) and invest it in other "things" and people. Which those things, and people do all the work and reap all the rewards.  Not good! Tune in as we break down the business of self and how you can change things up and start building up your "self." Stay tuned and keep it locked.

Join us for our compelling and very real series "Life Isn't A Dress Rehearsal." On this episode we will be discussing "Being Yourself" and being true to who we are as individuals. Often times we as people get caught up, messed up, and so we shut up and shut down.  It sounds very poetic but it's very true. That comes from individuals not being true themselves.  Honestly if enough individuals tapped into who they really are, they wouldn't get into half the trouble they find themselves in.  Instead oft letting "self" work for you, you are the slave to other outside forces that holds you hostage to any and everything. It's very compelling, as many people don't take the time to work on themselves or use those senses that they were blessed to have.  Trust me no one wants to be a slave and certainly not a hostage. Tune in as we take you on a "keeping it real" journey of being yourself. Stay tuned and keep it locked.

Join us as we continue our literary journey with short story writer, critic, fabulist and satirist Ambrose Bierce. Bierce was considered a master of "Pure" English by his contemporaries, and virtually everything that came from his pen was notable for its judicious wording and economy of style. He wrote in a variety of literary genres. His short stories are held among the best of the 19th century, providing a popular following based on his roots. He wrote realistically of the terrible things he had seen in the war  in such stories as "An Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge", "The Boarded Window", "Killed At Resaca", and "Chickamauga". In addition to his ghost and war stories, he also published several volumes of poetry. His Fantastic Fables anticipated the ironic style of grotesquerier that became a more common genre in the 20th century. Today, he is best known for his short story, "An Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge" and his satirical lexicon, The Devils Dictionary. The sardonic view of human nature that informed his work – along with his vehemence as a critic, with his motto "nothing matters" – earned him the nickname "Bitter Bierce." His reputation in the world of Spanish literature is second only to that of Cervantes, while the sheer volume of his literary output is unequalled, making him one of the most prolific authors in the history of literature. Nicknamed "The Phoenix of Wits" and "Monster of Nature" (because of the sheer volume of his work), Lope de Vega renewed the Spanish theatre at a time when it was starting to become a mass cultural phenomenon. Join us as we give you a dose of "a political hot mess" in the world of politics. Out of touch, ignorant, disturbed, crazy, lazy, and politicians who don't care, are what some of America's politicians are all about. Our society seems to be taken over by people who claim they are working for the people, but yet, up in Washington it's a totally different senario. The issues we face are that our political parties are not on common ground, further destruction of America's economy, a poor education system, no jobs, no room for growth, and the damn tea party is continuing to sprout. Sad but true. As we press forward, many wonder who are these people working in Washington? Are they playing games, are they sick, are they demented, or just plain dumb. It's impossible to put a finger on one thing, but we do know this; not alot is working or getting done. Join us as we give you a dose of "A Politcal Hot Mess" in the world of politics. Yes folks, recession+depression=no common sense republicans. The republican party is back at it again driving this country into another recession and possibly a great depression. They are trying to prove a point with this nonsense "Pledge To Save America" campaign. That point is a bunch of nonsense and no common sense. It seems that they want to take down and get rid of all of the new legislation that the current administration has put into place to help the people. They have already taken the steps to repeal the healthcare bill; which again is a waste of time. They have promised to cut $100 billion from domestic agencies; which could leave many Americans literally out in the cold. As it stands this party is determined to reap havoc on America and it's people with no hesitation in their political bones. Again politics can be dirty but here; it's clearly a political assault on the people. Tune in as we give it to you straight about the no commons sense republican party. Join us as we bring you a dose of "A Political Hot Mess" in the world of politics. Crazy! Sadistic! Outrageous! Scary! Lustful! Extreme! All of these are what politics are in our society today. Our political society has been seducing the American people since the begining of time to do this and do that. Now however, it's been taken to the next level as we have a new breed of Americans taken the wheel to get their voices heard. The political seduction on Americans can lead to unpredictable situations and put many people in a "twist." It has been played across America many times; most recently the shooting in AZ that took the lives of many. Many people are whipped into thinking a certain something or politizombied into thinking the world is coming an end and it's all President Obama's fault. We should all realize that what you say might have an effect on someone who may be listening. Surely, if we thought about things instead of getting trying to go for a political sound-bite then possibly things could be different. Tune in as we discuss "The Political Seduction On The American People." Plus the latest political headlines. Stay tuned and keep it locked.
