Welcome to Exercising Your Faith, where we build wisdom in people’s lives so they can move forward with purpose in God’s plan. Whether your struggle is personal, professional, or spiritual, we look to provide the guidance necessary to reconnect you with your faith and propel you on a path of strength in mind, body, and spirit. It’s time to exercise your patience, endurance and faith, with your hosts Dave and James.
Here we are 2+ years and 250+ episodes into this and it struck us that James and I needed to stop talking and start doing. We started this show not knowing if we'd last one week much less two years and while we're not done podcasting we are going to close the chapter on this show. My wife said it best when she said that all we need to do is exercise the faith God has given us in every situation because it is enough. Our podcasting library is filled with testimony after testimony of God fulfilling His great promises in the lives of ordinary people just like us. It is our hope that you have been blessed to go along with us on this journey and will come back when God has called us to once again use this format to spread His message. We thank you for listening and downloading and we encourage you to continue to do just that because the nuggets of wisdom our guests have shared need to be listened to over and over again. We're going to pay to keep it up so take advantage and re-listen. Have a great day folks and as always, God Bless.
Your's in Christ,
Dave and James
The EYFPodcast is proud to sit down today with Jody Hudson. An inspiring author and founder of the Alex Hudson Lyme Foundation, Jody Hudson is on a mission to spread hope through self-rediscovery, gratitude, and faith. After losing her twenty-two-year-old daughter to Lyme disease, Jody turned her pain into purpose and built a nation-wide preventative curriculum to educate on the severity of tick-borne illnesses that’s led to her collaboration with the Girl Scouts.
With over 13 years of nonprofit leadership experience and 12 years of retail management, Jody embodies both a kind heart and a keen vision for empowering individuals. Today, Jody frequently speaks on overcoming loss, navigating through grief, learning gratitude and finding one’s purpose in life.
Her story is one no parent ever wants to have to tell but she found God at the right time and is able to rest in Him knowing that Alex is at home with Jesus. We hope you enjoy her story as much as we did in bringing it to you.
Thankfully it appears we can now put COVID in our rear view mirrors. This pandemic is over but the scars and fears remain. One of the fears involves the persecution of Christians that saw pastors get arrested and thrown into prison for refusing to bow down to the government. In America when we hear about this type of persecution we associate it with some far off country in the Middle East and certainly not with our neighbor Canada up north. Unfortunately our former good neighbor Canada used Covid as a reason to persecute the Christian church there and it's pastors. One such Pastor was James Coates and he has a story to tell and we are sharing it with you today. His story is so stunning that it helped foster a new book called "God vs. Government" which not only tells his story of arrest and persecution but also provides a blueprint going forward how we can all fight back when the government oversteps its bounds.
We hope you enjoy Pastor Coates story and the message of hope he brings.

These are strange times indeed. It seems like what is good is bad and what is up is really down. We've become a nation of creatures looking for comfort but God is stirring in those who will be obedient a different way of thinking. God is using people like Matthew and Joy Thayer of Speropictures to wake people like you and I up from our slumber. The enemy never rests and so the people of God must "rest" in Jesus so that we are able to fight back against the powers of this world. We are in a battle but this is a battle we can win if we will simply obey God and retake our God-given authority back from those who receive their instructions from satan. We are on the good team and we need to help wake our other sleeping team members up. This might be the most important podcast you listen to not because of us but because of where reawakening can take you (us) as a people forward.

It seems like the world is going to hell. Covid, mandates, protests, wars and rumors of wars, good is now bad and bad is now good. For many Christians this has been more than a rude awakening as for many it's caused fear and doubt. Into this picture comes two very important gentlemen who have been given the gift of prophetical discernment, The Prophecy Pros.
Two experts. One topic. No confusion. Jeff Kinley and Todd Hampson are on a mission to reach the next generation with the inspiring, hopeful message found in Bible prophecy and today they spend an hour with us to bring some hope and encouragement. Enjoy this important episode and make sure you share it with every Christian you know so they can be reassured that God has THE PLAN.

All of us make agreements every day. We buy things that require an agreement, we enter into relationships that require an agreement and when we go to work we agree to fulfill certain requests as a part of our employer agreement. Did you know that you are to be in agreement (called COVENANT) with God as well? Did you know that if the you will simply "agree" with God (See Matt 6:33) that your life will not only improve but will be governed by God's laws and principals which He created to bless you with!
God wants to be in COVENANT with you! It's the common sense plan for every person as we are all God's creation whether we know it or not. Come into agreement with God today and be inspired to seek COVENANT with Him. All you have to do is Trust and Obey.
Take notes listeners! There is so much simple truth in today's show. We have the honor and pleasure of talking with author and publisher Jack Countryman.
Jack Countryman is the founder of JCountryman gift books— a
division of Thomas Nelson—and is the recipient of the
Evangelical Christian Publishers Association’s Jordan Lifetime
Achievement Award. Over the past thirty years, he has
developed bestselling gift books such as God’s Promises for Your
Every Need®, God’s Promises for Men®, God’s Promises for
Women®, God’s Blessings Just for You® and The Red Letter
Words of Jesus. Countryman’s books have sold more than 27
million units. This one is truly a treasure folks!
It's been said that 95% of the things we fear about never materialize. Most people are afraid of speaking in public but have never been asked to or had to and yet still fear it. There is a real spirit of fear but there is also our Lord Jesus Christ who came to give us back our dominion over fear. Join us today as we discuss the topic of fear, irrational and rational fears and have a return to a common sense and biblical approach to fear. God didn't give us a spirit of fear so let's not be so willing to accept it from the enemy.
As a middle school PE teacher you get to really see everything that goes on in a school community. Nowadays we really don't teach but rather we manage, we counsel, we make sure there is no unaccidental bloodshed. Everyone says our schools are broken and I would agree they are but not because of the usual suspects. Yes, schools have become indoctrination centers of leftist policies. This is by design and has been working so well for one reason. Parents have given up and given over their authority over their kids to someone else. God made you in His image. God has adopted you and made you an heir with Christ. God has given you His authority to use through Him to glorify Him and to live your life to the fullest. It doesn't take a village to raise your kids. It takes two followers of Christ, a man and a woman, husband and a wife. It's common sense.
It's been said that 70% of your neighbors are living paycheck to paycheck. Chances are such that you might be one of those neighbors! Everyone should strive to owe no one anything but especially Christians because we can't serve two masters. The issue is how do we get out of debt? What are the steps we can take to get us there? Is there some plan or person who has been where I'm at today who has gotten out of debt? Today on the podcast we are talking to debt relief expert John Nicholas, the author of Debt-Free ASAP! who has a plan based on his knowledge of getting out of debt. John is like many of us in that he has been to the top and the bottom and by the grace of God has gotten out and it is now his mission in life to share with others the common sense steps and methods to getting out of debt and staying out. We hope you enjoy today's show and we encourage you to reach out to John at:
https://debt-freeasap.com/
Common sense says getting out of debt is a great idea and we hope it is one of your goals for 2022!
Money is an issue. Stuff is an issue. Money and stuff together can be a big issue in both good and bad ways. The thing about money though is that it is simply a tool that God has given us to use and it's up to apply His principles to it or fall victim to what the world says about money.
As we enter into 2022 the EYFPodcast is hopeful that Christians will seek a more common sense approach to all aspects of their lives including how we spend money and accumulate stuff. Next week we have special guest John Nicholas Author of Debt-Free ASAP to help our listeners achieve their financial goals but first this week James and I talk debt, tithing and God's views on money. We hope you enjoy the conversation.
Where did you "source" your information last week? Did you take in everything through the lens of the Bible or was it from the viewpoint of the world? It has never been more important in our lifetimes as Christians than it is now to seek first the Kingdom of God. The devil is in a race to his death and he is doing everything he can to thwart, destroy, steal, confuse and kill everyone in his path. You must BELIEVE in God and in HIS WORD.
Before you make a decision ask yourself what does God's Word say?
Do you need physical healing? What does God's Word say?
Do you need financial healing? What does God's Word say?
All we need in this world is God's Word. It's common sense.
Welcome to the best year of your life! Or is it? How can you and I as Christians make 2022 the best year ever for us? That's what we want right? We want to be able to sit here a year from now and marvel about all the awesome things God did in our lives and the lives of our families in 2022 so what are we going to do to make that happen? For most we set useless resolutions that get unresolved somewhere around the 20th of January and then vow to do better next year when things will be better, blah, blah, blah. What if there was a better way? Join us today as we bring some average, ordinary common sense to building a better relationship with God in 2022 so you can make it your best year ever.
It took a while but I finally figured out that we give out of our blessings and not all giving or blessings are material or "good" things. Sometimes are blessings are "NO's" from God or things that aren't quite comfortable in nature. We go through a trial and through that trial we end up serving others and that is a form of giving. SERVICE to others is what God wants us to do with what He has given us. It's important to remember that SERVICE can be seasonal. There may be times where you have more money than time so you serve others financially. Other times in your life you may have more time than money so you serve others with your talents. God has called all of us to serve right where our feet are at and for this time. We hope you will get out of our look at the word SERVICE something to help you today and that the blessings you have will in turn help serve others.
Today we get to reconnect back to the idea that it's the little things in life that matter and that in the end, all things are really little when you have a big God. Heather Carter was forced due to a cancer diagnosis to re-focus how she saw the world and in that battle "Soul-Selfie" was born. Heather took her thoughts, feeling and frustrations and created a blog that was supposed to just be information on her cancer battle but became a place for God to use her cancer to help others. Without saying it directly, Heather incorporates the idea that you need to get the log out of your own eye first before you can get the log out of someone else's eye. We need to all take the time every day to just sit down and meditate on God's greatness and examine our own selves so that we can have the time and energy to help others. We hope you enjoy today's show as it could become a regular part of the EYFPodcast.
Give thanks where thanks is due is gratitude. God has given us His all, it's just up to us to accept his gift and to do so with gratitude. God loves a cheerful giver and you can't have cheer and joy in your heart if you don't have gratitude. Thanksgiving is more than a meal, it's a mindset, it's gratitude for the things done for us. Join us today as we spend a few minutes with Bruce Pulver of Above the Chatter Our Words Matter as we discuss and embrace the attitude of gratitude. God is good, everyday.
Every so often you get a chance to listen to someone really neat and by neat I mean down to earth and simple to understand. Today is that day and the EYFPodcast sat down with writer and teacher Jeff Kennon. What makes this interview so good is Jeff's ability to take the complex and make it so simple anyone could take from it and share it. Jeff's latest book is called the "Cross Shaped Life", and it is a walk through the idea of taking up your Cross daily and following Jesus. Jeff drops some serious truths here about following Jesus and how to serve. It's a truly a special interview and one we hope you enjoy as much as we did.
Jeff lives in Lubbock, Texas with his wife, Paige, and 3 children: Krista, Justin, and Josh. He is currently the director of the Baptist Student Ministry at Texas Tech University of which he is a graduate. Jeff also has a couple of degrees from Southwestern Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.
To make his bio complete he is a huge fan of Texas Tech Basketball!

It's been estimated that men and women speak on average over 16,250 words a day. The Bible says that our words have the power to speak both life and death and lastly (and most importantly) John 1:1 says this, " In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." God is trying to tell us something here don't you think? There is power in your words and POWER IN THE WORD, there is POWER IN JESUS. Today we get to spend a few minutes with our friend Bruce Pulver as we dive into the word "Anxiety" and it's ability to speak both life and death into us and to others. We hope you enjoy it and remember to use your words today to speak life.
The identity thief would have you believe that you stink, that you're a screw up, you'll never measure up and afterall, who could love you? Well we know from scripture that the enemy is a liar and nothing could be further from the truth. Not only does God love you but He loves you UNCONDITIONALLY, no strings attached. It says in the scriptures that even while we were still sinners God sent His only Son to die for you and me, that my friends is unconditional love. Join James and I today as we unpack God's unconditional love for you and me.

1 John1:9 says that if we confess our sins God is faithful and righteous and will forgive us from our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. The identity thief wants you to think you are not forgiven because he then can keep you in bondage. We have to remember who we are, whose we are and why we're here. You are a child of God, you are forgiven and your identity in Christ can never be taken away. Join us today as we dive into the fact that you and I are forgiven children of God.
John 3:16 lays out the PROMISE that God gave to us.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." One of the many things I appreciate about God is His simple messaging that He uses to communicate to us. Believe in My Son and have eternal life is as simple as it gets and it's a PROMISE from God. God has many other simple and profound PROMISE(s) that He makes throughout the Bible so we thought it would be awesome to hear from Bruce Pulver and get his take on the word PROMISE. We hope you enjoy today's conversation as much as we did.

Today we get to sit down with our good friend Bruce Pulver and talk about the word SHINE. This is one of James's favorite words and we are so fortunate we have the opportunity to listen to Bruce's take on the word and get the inspiration from the Holy Spirit as we break down the word SHINE. It's all about who we are in Christ and it's His power that goes through us so we can help SHINE a light and brighten up this dark world.
Who are you? People have been spending thousands of hours and thousands of years trying to find themselves only in the end to realize the journey has ended right where they started, nowhere. The enemy has used tools like deception and condemnation to get people to not see who they truly are and who's they truly are. The enemy has ruined so many lives under the umbrella of helping people " find themselves." The results have been ruined lives and ruined families left in disappointment. Today we want to arm you with the truth. We have an identity crisis in this world and we need to change that. Today we are going to begin a series for the young and old amongst us where we will explain to you your identity and give you practical tools to stop the real identity thief dead in his tracks.
Today we discuss: You are a child of God.
Today we start a new series based on listening to God. Too many times we are too busy to actually hear what God wants for us and from us. We have a list of to-do's that drown out the sweet voice of the Holy Spirit. We want guidance but we won't sit still. We want favor, safety, security, good health. We want it all but we are missing the one thing we need to do, we need to RETURN to God and then He will RETURN to us.
Today on the EYFPodcast we have the pleasure of sitting down with Dr. Robert Jeffress to discuss life in this Covid world and to discuss his latest book, " Invincible."

Dr. Jeffress hosts a daily radio program, Pathway to Victory, that is heard nationwide on over 1000 stations in major markets such as Dallas-Fort Worth, New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Houston, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Philadelphia, and Seattle.

We hope that you enjoy today's show and that you too will become blessed by getting into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
Everything is falling into place and now it's time to step into God's plan for your life and GROW. We hope you have enjoyed these special words that God has given Bruce to give to us. It's that circle of life thing, one individual using what God has given them (their gift) to make better the lives of others. It's how we GROW!
Take time today to count your blessings and then ask God to allow you to bless others with these same gifts and get ready to GROW. God isn't finished with you yet and He isn't finished blessing you yet either. All we have to do is allow our Maker to mold us so we can GROW.

We are in the ON YOUR MARK, GET SET, LET'S GROW series with Bruce Pulver, the Shakespeare of the South. In this day and age where everything seems uncertain we know we serve a Sovereign God, and because we do it is up to us to GET SET and GET READY for what HE has next. Last week we looked at making and leaving a MARK and today we are at the GET SET stage.
God has great plans for you regardless of the circumstances around you. Just be ready and God will shine the light on your path as you move forward.
Imagine being in the absolute prime of your life, things are going good and all of a sudden your world does a 180 and in your sitting in Dr's office discussing the fact that you have an inoperable brain tumor. Now imagine not feeling sorry for yourself but rather knowing in your heart that God has got this and He's going to take care of it and it's going to be all right. Well you don't have to imagine what it would be like to get that diagnosis and react to it like that because Monique Hopkins got that diagnosis but met it with the power of the testimony.
We all have the power of our words and in them are life and death. Monique spoke life into her cancer and spoke of Jesus's healing powers as the great Dr. over her life and in doing so was healed completely. This is a powerful testimony for all of us no matter what we are walking through.
We all have a race to run. In fact many of us spend our whole day racing from one event, place or experience. The key is to stay in your lane and run the race God has specifically chosen for you. Ask God today to show you your race and He will light your path.

There are times in your life when you just know something was good. You remember the day and the time and you try to hang on to it because you just know it was something special. That's how James and I felt after getting the chance to sit down with Gary Miracle. Yes, "Miracle" is his real name, given at birth and Yes, Gary is a walking, talking miracle from God to his wife, his kids and to regular folks like us. I don't want to spill too much here because the true worth is in his words in the show but I will share with you this link and I encourage you to listen to it first and then come back for the interview.

In part three of our new series led by the Holy Spirit James leads us with the word ETERNAL. So much of this world is temporary and the only thing you get to take to the other side is another person. God is ETERNAL and so are we, it's our destination that is in question unless we accept the free gift of salvation. Where are you going to be in the ETERNAL? Are you destined for a life in heaven or a life separated from God and all you hold dear? Make the right choice today as today is the day of salvation, today is the day of ETERNAL choosing.

Bruce Pulver is back with us for our weekly get together and we're moving into a new series where we are allowing the Holy Spirit to lead our discussions. Last week we took a look at the word VISION and this week Bruce is bringing us back to SEEDS and the importance of PATTERNS. There are some amazing insights in these discussions that can connect you to God on a deeper level so we encourage you to listen and then act based on what you hear. Be doers of the WORD.
Today at the EYFPodcast we have the absolute pleasure to bring you a conversation with cowboy, cattle rancher, pastor and award winning writer John L. Moore. John brings a new meaning to the term involved and busy. The art of writing involves thousand of hours and yet in between 7 novels and over 2,000 other published works John has successfully managed a cattle ranch, been inducted into the Cowboy Hall of Fame and pastored three churches. John's latest acclaimed novel is called Blue Man and it's a fun and fast paced dive into Christian fiction that is sure to keep you reading until you finish as I can attest to. The great thing about John's writings and this podcast is that to read and listen to John is to recognize he writes and speaks wisdom in layers, you don't always see or hear what God is speaking through him the first time through.
If you have an interest in the supernatural, ranching, Christian fiction then John L. Moore is worth the time to get to know. You can reach out to John @

Today it's our turn on the EYFPodcast to come up with our own word. For 49 weeks we have been led by noted wordsmith Bruce Pulver as he has shared his love of words with us. It's Dave's turn today and he has chosen the word VISION. We hope you enjoy Dave's take on a word that has serious implications for every Christian because with out VISION God's people will perish.
Would it be sound selfish if I said it's all about me or it's all about you? On the surface or in the world you might be called out for putting yourself first but when it comes to God it is all about you. God is not an impersonal God, He not only knows all about you and all He wants you to do is share with others what He has done for you.
The power of the testimony is that it is yours and nobody else's. God may have saved millions from addictions but your salvation story is as unique as your fingerprints. Why are we discussing this on the show today? It's simple. Too many of us get stuck on the sidelines when it comes to sharing because we're afraid we don't know enough about God or the Bible so we use that as an excuse to remain quiet. We use our supposed lack of knowledge to stay in our lane and let the big guns go and preach it. Here's the thing, God wants you to stay in your lane and you are a big gun with the thing God wants you to share, your story!
Imagine if this week you simply shared with 5 people something great God has done for you (a testimony). Your story is the rock thrown in the pond and the ripple effect is God ministering to others through you. That's all you need to do. For some your story will be a pebble but for others it will be a mighty stone. All you need to do is share what you know, nothing more, nothing less. Our prayer at EYF is that you get at least one chance a day to share a testimony, we hope it becomes your prayer too. God bless.
Christianity is not a religion just like a marriage is not a contract. No, Christianity and a marriage are about the relationships. Being a Christian is about having a personal relationship with the creator of the universe. Jesus said to take up your cross and follow Him and that following Him means that we are personally involved with Him. It's the relationship with Jesus that counts not how much you know about Him but rather your relationship to Him. We hope you have enjoyed this series as much as we have in putting it together for you. Take the time each and every day to get to know God on a personal level and you will be better for it.
The word epidemic has been so over utilized given the circumstances of the past few years that we have a tendency to discount the real problems affecting our society. Here we are in the greatest country in the history of the world and yet we have 500,000 children in foster care. Many of these children have suffered such horrific abuse that would shock us to actually know the details. In the midst of this Family induced trauma there are many organizations big and small working to help the children and today we get to sit down with one of the best and brightest of these groups, For the Children and their CEO Paul Martin.
FTC is a faith based organization that has pulled together the government and meshed them with volunteers throughout the United States and the world to do one thing, help the children. One of the ways they do this is through Royal Family for Kids, an opportunity for an abused foster child to literally go get normal in a safe summer camp environment. Another means of reaching kids is through their mentorship program which offers group and one on one mentoring from vetted volunteers.
Today's episode is important in so many ways and we encourage you to not only listen but to go and sign the pledge right now and maybe you to can begin to help children heal.

It's hard sometimes to keep going when everything and everyone around you seems to be saying to stop. Perseverance is a character trait that we grow as we go through life. We are not born with it but a faith in God helps to build it and as we go through tough times, that perseverance becomes a sign that our hope rests with God and not the world. Always remember that this life isn't meant to be easy but that Christ has already overcome the issues and problems you and I face so remember to persevere and trust that God has the answer.

Sometimes it's hard to keep going as it can feel awfully lonely when we are following through on what God would have us do. The key to life is never giving up and God is the key! Our faith is made step by step as we walk along the path that God would have for us and we need to PERSIST and keep going even when others would tell us to stop. The path of the world is wide and leads to destruction but God's path is thin and simple, we just need to follow it and PERSIST through whatever comes our way. Join us today as Bruce Pulver takes us through PERSIST.

Barnabas was known as the Son of Encouragement because everywhere he went he just made people feel better about themselves and their situations. Pastor Mike Novotny is a modern day Barnabas because his ministry has helped thousands of people overcome a lifetime of hurt. We all know that hurt people hurt people and thankfully God has given people like Pastor Mike to minister aid to the hurt and the hurting especially when dealing with topics like abuse, abortion and divorce. We don't need to carry around our past and we need to remember that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ which is where encouragers like pastor Mike come in.
Pastor Mike has written a new study called " How to Heal", a simple yet powerful walk through the bible to help folks who have felt the sting of life at its worst so that they can experience the freedom from pain that only Jesus can give. The great thing about the book is that it's not just for those who are hurting but for folks who can provide help to those that are. Jesus asked us to be the hands and feet and there's a position for all of us in God's kingdom.
Connect with pastor Mike at www.timeofgrace.org to purchase his materials and books and to connect yourself and others with resources of hope and encouragement.
When it rains several things happen. Life can't be sustained without water and aquifers can't be restored unless the water permeates from the surface down into the ground. In much the same way our lives cannot be sustained with the living water from Jesus. We must allow God to permeate into every area of our lives in order to be restored but to also provide protection from the enemy who seeks to use the worlds influence to disrupt our lives. Join us today as we sit down with Bruce Pulver and discuss the word PERMEATE as only Bruce Pulver can.

You and I are never without hope. No truer words have ever been spoken and they are the resounding theme of the life of Judge Roy Sparkman. The Judge has been a champion for Christ while being in the public eye for most all of his career. A lawyer, a judge, a school board president and now an author the Judge has been a steadfast Christ follower. He is such a class act that even those who weren't believers but who knew what the Judge stood for were not afraid of coming to his courtroom because they knew he was a man of integrity.
Since retiring from the bench Judge Roy has made it his business to support the religious freedoms of all and has become a sought after advocate for religious liberty and rights throughout the United States. The Judge recently had his book the Pastor's Pit published and it's become a popular read of fiction based on the truth of what is happening to our once solid religious rights here in America. The Judge reminds us today that even though we are in a fight, we are never without hope. Jesus has defeated all who seek to tear you and I down. Our job is to remain steadfast and to stand on the truth like Judge Roy Sparkman.
One of the biggest hinderances to Christians today is that the enemy has convinced them that they are not enough. Too many of us think we're not good enough, smart enough or know enough to do things for God. This idea though is a lie! You and I are created by God, the owner of all the cattle and the hills! God made you more than enough and He gave you all the abilities to do the unique job God created for you. One fo the great things about God is that He makes the complex extremely simple. His Word is straightforward, repent, believe in His one and only Son, return to Me and I will return to you are just some big but simple examples of God's Word. Today we are going to lay out for you some simple ideas to help you become as successful as God has intended you to be. We feel that if you can grasp these simple truths and then live them out in your life that you too will experience God's blessings in a way that you haven't seen yet.

I'm afraid someday I'm going to get to heaven someday and have a bad case of FOMO(Fear of Missing Out) realized to become IDMO(I did miss out) because I was afraid to step out and meet God. By meeting God I'm not saying for the first time but meeting Him at least halfway. Today we're going to discuss the idea of risk and how important it is for us as Christians to follow the example of Christ and be willing to take a risk. Exercising your faith is applying your faith against the resistance. Join us today and step out a little.

I'll never forget that moment in the first Indiana Jones movie where the bad guy is talking excitedly about the Ark of the Covenant because with it you can talk to God! Guess what? We don't need the Ark to talk to God because the blood of Jesus built the bridge to the throne room of God. Hebrews 4:16 tells us we can confidently come to the throne of Grace and receive His mercy. That is the power of prayer!
Today James and I want to share with you how we see the power and idea of prayer. Come boldly to God, praise His holy name with thanksgiving and ask in the name of Jesus. Stop believing that you're not good enough or that God is too busy to listen to you. Nothing could be further from the truth and always remember that the truth (Jesus) is what sets us free.
It's one thing to be READY as we learned last week but it's another thing to being WILLING. God wants you to want to be with Him. You and I need to be WILLING to do the things necessary to be the person God wants us to be. We need to say YES to GOD and then take any and all steps necessary to follow Him. Wordsmith Bruce Pulver of Above the Chatter our Words Matter helps James and I to bring WILLING to the Podcast table.
Imagine having a faith that is so bold that everyone tries to convince you otherwise? Now imagine suffering for 3 years with a disease and all the while counting that suffering as joy. That is the mindset of Delphine Kirkland, who for three years walked alone in the physical realm but was guarded, lifted up and blessed by Jesus in the spiritual realm. Her book " Just Jesus and Me" details her walk of pain and subsequent healing at the hands of God. This is the podcast to listen to if you are dealing with doubt, issues of healing or if you just want to know how to truly exercise your faith in the darkest of circumstance. You will be changed because God's Word does not come back void.
James and I both agree this is one of the best interviews we've ever been blessed to be a part of. Join us, let go and let God.
Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired? Are you READY to finally say yes to God and move forward with the life God has for you? If you answered yes you're going to enjoy our time today with Bruce Pulver. As you know Bruce has a way with words and we are starting a new series with him that's designed to get you off the couch and into the arena of life. It's time to get READY.

Just what exactly am I supposed to do and how come my Pastor doesn't do everything?
Ephesians 4:12 it is "..to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ," It is important to understand this role because it helps us as the body defines our role as well. A Pastor's job is to equip the saints so that the saints can go out and be the hands and feet of Jesus.
Defining these roles leads us to understand that we don't go to church to "feel better" or put the focus on being blessed or favored. The Pastor equips us by teaching the will of God through the life of Jesus Christ. We then go out to demonstrate what we have learned to the world. Our role is to walk in love and be the light. If you don't see it in Jesus' life or hear Him say it, we shouldn't see it in our lives. When we have this focus which found in Mathew 6:33, then the fruits of the Spirit will manifest themselves in our lives. Having the wrong expectations can lead to disappointment, so today remind yourself of your purpose and let the love of the Father shine through you!
The EYFPodcast is thankful that every Wednesday we get to sit down with Bruce Pulver of Above the Chatter our Words Matter as he leads us to know God more with a quick word that has been placed on his heart. We've all heard of the harvest and we know that God is at work in everyone's lives but we often forget that God uses people just like you and I to help reach others and exercise our faith. Today we discuss the idea and importance of the word Harvest.
You are more than your circumstances but often times we lose sight of the other side and our circumstances can overwhelm us. The great thing about a relationship with Jesus is the it is HE that help us to see past our struggles when we seek our rest in Him. Justen Smith has seen some tough circumstances in his life. He lost his dad when he was seven, spent two tours of duty in Iraq while seeing the worst of what man has to offer and has been able come out on the other side because in his tough times he knew who he was in Christ, and he never lost his identity.
Even though the battle is a daily one, Justen has plans moving forward and one of these is planting the seeds of faith in the kids he trains and through his ministry "Progress in the Kitchen". Enjoy a refreshing conversation today with Army veteran Justen Smith.

How big is your God? That's a big question all right and it should be. Is your God big enough to provide fiber, food and shelter should you follow the seed that God has planted in your heart? Rory Groves wasn't entirely sure but he knew that spending time with his family was a currency that came with a price and he didn't want to waste every chance he had with his family so he and his wife set out to change their economy from the world to a family centered economy. Out of this seed has grown the Grovestead, his family farm that has become a teaching farm for his community and most importantly his family.
Rory took his passion for research and created a book called "Durable Trades" that is a compilation of all the different jobs since essentially the beginning of history that families have done to thrive and prosper in their economy. Durable Trades is literally a blueprint of what you could do if the desire to learn and be mentored is there for the individual looking to get away from the day to day and begin to spend a life of living.
Too many of us think that our God is not concerned with the day to day issues of our lives and nothing could be further from the truth and Rory has proved that over and over with rabbits, chickens and building fences. God cares about everything and it takes a belief in a big God to reveal that to ourselves.
There is still room for you out there in the country if you're just willing to believe and practice discipline. You can reach out to Rory at www.thegrovestead.com and buy his book, take a class and you can probably even milk the goat if you get there early enough.

16 million women in the United States are considered single parents and when a problem strikes there is only one set of shoulders for it to fall upon. A car repair to most people is a problem but a car repair issue to single women can be a crisis. The money involved to repair the car becomes a house issue, food issue and work issue. If you can't get to work you can't earn money, you can't pay rent and you can't pay for food. It's a vicious cycle that happens over and over again. Sometimes all people need is a hand up and someone to stand in that gap.
That someone is Eddie Brown of Giving Words of Virginia. Eddie believes in being the pebble in the pond and it's through his ripples that young women in Virginia are being helped and in doing so lives are being changed and family trees are being reshaped. By helping young mothers to see beyond the struggle Eddie and his wife are building teams of victory in Christ and living out the Spirit of God through their work. We invite you to listen today and in doing so we invite you to partner with Eddie in prayer, finances or time as he seeks God's favor to move Giving Words out to the US and then the world. Every redwood started as a tiny seed and Giving Words is a growing tree providing shade and support to many. We hope you will help continue to water the seed God had Eddie and his wife to plant.

There are a few times in your life when you realize you are on the receiving end of some serious wisdom and today was/is that day. The EYFPodcast team had a chance to sit down with Pastor John Long and he taught well the concept of grace and everyone who takes the time to listen will benefit greatly.
Pastor John Long pastored several churches for 38 years and in that time led many to Christ as well as deepened the lives of believers during his years of service. It is truly an honor to bring Pastor John onto the show and on to the EYFpodcast team.

Bob Hasson hasn’t always understood what God had been trying to say to him because of the same reasons most of us have missed out, we weren’t listening. Hearing God speak to us is a learned skill. It requires us to be able to shut down all the outside noise and listen for the answer. Hearing God requires patience and understanding(wisdom) that God might be using other people, His Word, obstacles or simply events that occur in everyday to life to speak to us. In their new book “Wired to Hear” Bob Hasson and pastor Shawn Bolz dive deep into the concepts and idea of hearing God’s voice in the marketplace as nearly 98.5% of all Christians have vocations that exist outside of church.
We know you are going to enjoy listening to Bob today as his manner of speaking is direct and practical and you will come away with more than what you brought by taking the time to hear him speak.
We encourage you to reach out to Bob at www.hassonconsulting.com and also pick up a copy of the book “Wired to Hear” and be prepared to hear from God.

These are amazing and challenging times we are living in. For many it appears we are in the last days before Christ returns to take His church back with Him and the period of the tribulation will begin. How many prophecies need to still remains unclear but we do know the Temple must be rebuilt but in order to do that it must be rebuilt in the exact spot and this remains open to argument.
Today the EYFPodcast welcomes Dr. Christian Widener to the show. He has recently published an exhaustively researched book on where he believes he has determined the exact location of where the 2nd Temple was located.
Dr. Christian Widener is an independent biblical scholar, researcher, engineer, and author of The Temple Revealed: The True Location of the Jewish Temple Hidden in Plain Sight. His interest in biblical archaeology stems from a passion for apologetics and the reliability of the literal and historic accounts of the Bible, as well as its prophetic predictions for the coming Tribulation, the last-days temple, and the return of Jesus Christ to bring “all things in heaven and on earth together under one head” (Ephesians 1:10). While the Scriptures include many things that may be hard to believe or understand, Christian believes that the Bible is trustworthy, and that it can be tested scientifically and reasoned out logically, providing one separates facts from their interpretations. He believes that the Bible—not external sources or modern secular speculations based on naturalistic assumptions—is the preeminent testimony about the past.
We think that this will be an important podcast for everyone regardless of your background or knowledge of end times prophecy.

What is the price of freedom to you? For many we seek to find our freedom ironically in our fears. We attempt to protect ourselves through our effort in the hopes that will make us safe enough to be free. Matt Deibler finally found freedom when he realized that he had reached the end of himself as he had nowhere else to go or fall. It was God or nothing and on that Thanksgiving weekend back in 2011, he chose God and died to himself. Free at last!
For years Matt suffered with OCD, anxiety and panic before ultimately succumbing to a nervous breakdown which led him into a desperate state of agoraphobia. During that season of his life, he was reborn in his faith. Through God’s amazing grace he found a path to healing and uncovered his life’s calling, which is to serve.
In his pain he uncovered a passionate purpose and a message of hope for the children of God. Today, he is sharing that story openly in the freedom of his Redeemer and is truly living his faith, one day at a time.

Let me share some stats with you today. 68% of church going men use pornography on a regular basis. 45% of college aged women watch pornography at least once a month. 50% of pastors admit to watching pornography regularly. The average age a child gets introduced to porn is age 11. Houston, we have a problem!
It takes a special person to be willing to stand in the gap and God has chosen Ted Shimer to do just that. Ted and his wife responded to the calling over 30 years ago to try and stem the tide and he needs our help. Ted has founded the organization The Freedom Fight and it's purpose is to equip the church(me and you) to help those affected and to help ourselves as well. The enemy comes to seek and destroy and what better tool to use than pornography. It corrupts the mind, the soul and the family. If this episode is for you then go to www.thefreedomfight.org and get some help. If it's for someone you love then YOU need to go to www.thefreedomfight.org so you can equip yourself with the tools to lead them to getting help.
It's unlikely that anyone else is going to step up and stand in the gap other than you. God created you for this moment in time to help bring restoration to families everywhere. Join the EYFPodcast and the Freedom Fight and let's turn the darkness into light.

David Dusek’s mission is to encourage and equip men to live their lives for Christ. He utilizes his life experiences – including his upbringing in a non-Christian home, coming to Christ as an adult, and an extensive business background – to reach men in a way that they can understand. David’s vision is to engage all men where they are the “other six days of the week”—not just in church.
David is the founder of Rough Cut Men Ministries, which is primarily a live, interactive men’s experience using a strategic combination of action movie sequences, real world current events, Biblical truth and fireteam-sized discussion times with a single, laser focused objective: To get men talking about what’s really going on in their lives. David travels around the country, and the world, using the Rough Cut Men Movie Experience to get men to be transparent with one another and with Jesus.
David's latest book "THE BATTLE" is a blueprint to reinvigorate men's ministries that uses the battle in the Ia Drang Valley of South Vietnam as a backdrop to turn men's lives and the lives of their families around and away from the clutches of the enemy.

We at EYFPodcast can honestly say that there is finally a bible study on marriage that truly complements both the husband and the wife. We know this because best selling authors and all around amazingly creative people Aaron and Jamie Ivey co-wrote it. The great and unique thing about it is that Aaron wrote the book for the husbands and Jamie wrote it for the wives and neither knew what the other had written until it had gone to the editor. Aaron and Jamie could do this because their marriage is not their own but rather it has Jesus at the center. You see, Aaron and Jamie view their marriage through the lens of Jesus and that their marriage is a gift from God and if it is to become all that God wants it to be then Jesus must be the role model and leader.
One of things we liked most about our interview is that the study doesn't focus on the problems. Complement puts the focus on solutions. Anyone can write a book and talk about the major problems with marriage today (divorce) but few are there who can articulate a message of marriage hope like Aaron and Jamie. We hope you enjoy the show and as always subscribe to our podcast wherever you seek out our content and thank you for listening.

We're back today with part two of our interview with Jennifer McAlister. The beauty of Jennifer's story is that no matter the challenge, the fears or the doubts, she always runs her races with Jesus in the lead. It's wonder working Wednesday and that means it's time to spend a few minutes and get a lift of hope and encouragement from our friend Bruce Pulver. We are starting a little mini-series called the BREAD series and today we look at the word KNEAD and see how God uses different people and situations to work us into the people He wants us to be. God is the master baker and we are His bread. Enjoy the flavor!

Imagine you finally make it to the place you want to be. The finish line is in sight and years and years of hard work and sweat is about to be put behind you and the thrill of victory is yours. Now imagine that victory getting blown up both literally and figuratively as the sanctity of the event you've labored for has been transcended into a terrorist attack at the Boston Marathon. Today you are to be blessed with the story of "Press On" from Jennifer McAlister a marathon runner, writer and speaker who escaped the Boston marathon bombs by God's incredible timing, and His use of an Angel. Listen keenly because there are many things here for you and so much so we needed to do it in two parts.

Today the EYFPodcast is joined by author and speaker Patrick Prill. I can recall many times the chance and opportunity to engage an atheist only to run away afraid that in doing so we would be exposed as not knowing enough. I'm sure many of you have felt the same thing and after today hopefully that will have changed.
Patrick Prill is passionate about theism - that God exists. He is also passionate about family and business. It is, after all, possible to be passionate about more than one thing.
Patrick earned a MA in Theology and a MA in Church History from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He also earned a BBA in Economics from the University of Memphis. He's been active in advancing the case for Christian theism and has partnered with college ministries for years. Among them are CRU, InterVarsity, Rutgers United, Chi Alpha, Young Life and Ratio Christi. Since retiring, he has increased his involvement in teaching, writing and helping campus ministries.

Did you ever notice that no one ever asks you for what you doubt for? It seems silly but for most people their God is little but their doubt is big so in a way asking people what they doubt for makes more sense. James and I were blessed to be introduced to a book called THE POWER OF YOUR WORDS by E.W. Kenyon and Don Gossett and it has literally transformed our way of thinking because it literally has renewed our minds. We want to introduce you today to the idea of what is your confession and how you can begin to reshape the way you think by the words you choose to use. Today we will confess that God did not give us a spirit of fear but of power, of love and a sound mind. Understand this confession and then proclaim it over your life through your voice and gain the victory that can only come from God.
Buy the same book we did and join us in renewing your mind to be that of Christ.

Fear is a tool of the enemy. Faith is what we have in the Father and a measure of faith has been given to all of us. Joy Thayer has as much faith as you or I but her life is an example of exercising that faith. Joy was born out of a vision her mom had and her whole life has been an exercise in trying to see what God sees that she didn't but relying on her faith to understand the path to take. Joy has always been a performer and a storyteller and she is now taking her faith in God's story and telling it through the lens of Spero Pictures. From a role in "I can only Imagine" to helping produce "Unplanned" and from being part of the team that produced "The Trump I know", Joy is telling of the love of God through film.
We hope you enjoy listening to Joy's story as much as we did in bringing it to you. We also hope it inspires you to reach out to others and share the story that God has given you to share. We all have a role to play in the body of Christ as everyone's story is important to God as we exercise our faith in Him.

God has a plan for your life. Often it is completely different than anything we had perviously thought it to be and this is what Jeremy Stalnecker thought. His only goal as a youth was to leave home, join the Marines and make a career out of it. 25 years later the story has brought him back full-circle to the life that God had planned for him and in doing so God is changing lives as a result of Jeremy's obedience. Train up a child in God's ways and he will not stray from it. From being the son of a Pastor, an officer in the Marine Corps, a Pastor himself and now a CEO helping fellow veterans, Jeremy has walked many steps in his life but has had the reassurance that each one was measured by the author of our paths, Jesus Christ. In a church of 200 people there will statistically be 8 people living with and fighting cancer. In addition 2 more people at that same church will be diagnosed with cancer within the year which is why every church needs a cancer care ministry. Thankfully the process of starting this ministry has already been thought out by the Reverend Percy McCray who is the Director of Faith-Based Programs at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America and the person behind the website www.ourjourneyofhope.com which is a coalition of community pastors and clergy who help build bridges from despair to hope. In today's EYFPodcast episode you will learn how to start a cancer care ministry at your church, and what to do and where to go should you or someone close to you is faced with cancer. Most importantly you will no longer see cancer as the big "C" word as you will be reminded that it is "Christ" who is the big "C" in all things.

We meet, we fall in love, we get married, have kids and then we live happily ever after. Wait, you mean that isn't how it happens? The EYF team had the pleasure to sit down with two people who know the meaning of till death do we part, Steve and Lisa Goldberg of Side by Side Ministries (www.staysidebyside.org). Steve and Lisa have a ministry that has helped save a bunch of marriages as God has given them the tools to help folks in crisis. As we know God often uses events in our own lives to help prepare us and Steve and Lisa share their own marital heartache and how it drove them closer together and finally got God to be the center of their marriage.
This is one of our favorite shows and by the end we think you'll agree.
My grandmother was an incredibly wise and powerful woman. She was about 5' tall and 100 lbs maybe soaking wet but she was incredibly strong and resilient. Her faith muscles could take down any obstacle in her way. She broke her hip twice and I remember her forgoing pain medicine. She always taught me that life is a fight but you need to pick your battles and looking back on it she let God do most of her fighting. She was the epitome of "Let Go Let God". You and I are limited editions. We can't fight every battle or right every wrong. God however is not burdened by limits and is not restricted by time, space or energy. God never intended for us to fight alone which is why the last weapon in the arsenal against depression is letting go and letting God.
The peace that passes all understanding is just that, it PASSES ALL UNDERSTANDING. Don't try to figure it all out. Let it go and let God and exercise your trust in God to do for you what nobody else can.

The time that we experience now is just a blip on the lens of eternity. This is not your home and more than it is mine. The enemy wants you to think this is it, you live, you die so party like it's 1999. Well we can look back on our life and remember friends, family members that were here and then gone. Here's the deal. There is eternal life but it's up to you to determine where you want to spend it. Don't let the enemy steal your joy. Greater is He that is in you than he who is in the world.
Exercise your faith and grow in God's strength. It's so much better to meet God now than wait until later.
So much of what we go through in life is based on our reactions to things that happen to us. It's not what happened to us that is the problem but rather how we reacted to what happened to us that can kill us. Brandie Muncaster went through a lot in her life. She was a child of divorce, she was emotionally abused. She sought approval in all the wrong places and as a result was left homeless at a time when her peers were picking colleges and planning the next phases of their lives. Through it all she had a grandmother who never stopped praying and a God who never stopped listening. Brandie's life is a story is that of an overcomer but most importantly the story of someone who found peace at the feet of Jesus. Too many people carry around their problems like they were a suitcase of clothes on a trip. We don't like them much but they're ours and no one is going to take them from us. The problem with that is your problems never go away then. They keep showing up wherever you do.
Take a half hour today to listen to Brandie's story of rest and then apply it to yourself and throw your problems in the trash where they belong. Start new with God this year and watch what happens.

Every year I tell my middle school students to be careful as to who they become friends with. At 11-13 years old friends are everything in the life of a pre-teen/teenager. The choices they make at this age can sometimes have a lifetime of consequences, both good and bad. Depression and the way it manifests in your life can sometimes be attributed back to whom you are friends with. In good times and in bad, who we choose to spend time with can affect how we get into or out of depression. A common issue many find today is the feelings of failure when goals aren't met or things don't happen exactly as we had planned. It's during these times that the best thing we can do is go skateboard with our friends or some other activity where all you're doing is living in the moment. The problem with depression is that it causes you to either regret your past or fear your future while not allowing you to live in the moment. Good friends are worth their weight in gold if they can see that in you and then in turn help you to just do today and not worry about yesterday or the future.
Make your friendships into friendtrips.

You are weird and so am I. We all are different and that is great! God made you and to be individuals in His image, not anyone else's image. We all are guilty of trying to spend time and money to impress people we don't like and then are left with nothing. The spirit of Despair loves to get you to compare your life to everyone else's in order to get you wishing you were more. Well guess what? You are more, you are a child of God, you are more than a conqueror, greater is He that is in you than he who is in the world. We speak of confessions a lot at EYFPodcast so make your confession of who you are in Christ and defeat the spirits that want to hold you back. Exercise your Faith over the plans of the enemy!
Trying to contain the passion of Alexandra Broylan is like trying to catch and bottle the wind. You just can't do it no matter how hard you try. Alexandra is one of those people who is just on fire for God and she just can't be put out and that's the kind of attitude it takes to be a successful Christian film producer in Hollywood. Alexandra's an overnight sensation that took 20 years to happen as she took the time to listen to Jesus and do things His way in His will and she is reaping the benefits of her hard work through her movies. From living a year in her Toyota Corolla, to having a home and then selling everything to finance her movie (and living back on the road again) Alexandra jumped into the passion that God gave her with both feet and burned the bridge behind her. If you're in need of inspiration, if you're in need of hope and encouragement you have come to the right place. Listen and then be inspired to follow what God has put into your heart.

Every year people all throughout the world begin the new year by focusing on what they want to stop doing. The list includes, overeating, drinking, smoking, drugs, procrastination blah, blah, blah. What if this year was different? What if this year you resolved to love God more? What if you resolved to get to know God more through His Word? What if seeking God's will and purpose for your life became your New years resolution? We have a special guest for all our listeners this New Years Day in Mr. America John Heart. Champion bodybuilder, motivational speaker, pro fitness trainer, Husband and Father are just a few of the words used to describe John. While the world may identify John this way if you ask him he'd tell you his identity is in Christ and because of that he doesn't need yearly resolutions, just more of God.
EYFPodcast wants the best for you this upcoming year and you can help it start out right by taking John's advice and jumping in with both feet into the deep end of God's pool. You won't be disappointed and you may find out you don't need all those resolutions after all, just more of Jesus.

Rewrite your story. Get over it and move forward. Let it go and give it over to God. What do all these things have in common. They're all a part of Ben Courson's 5th weapon to overcoming depression and the hopelessness that comes with it. If all you do is relive your past then you'll be stuck there. The mistakes you made are right where God intended them to be, in your past. In order to Exercise Your Faith you need to strengthen your faith muscles by breaking the chains that are your past. It isn't easy but you can reinvent yourself, there is always hope and it's never too late. Jeremiah 29:11 wasn't a "suggestion" or a "maybe", it was a yes and amen. You can overcome the depression that is hounding you by exercising your faith and re-writing who you are into who God wants you to be. As we approach New Years, resolve to being just who you are in Christ because He has made you complete.

James and I are walking you through Ben Courson's 11 weapons to fight depression and the hopelessness that goes along with it and today we look at probably one of the most obvious remedy but most often overlooked, exercise. Your bodies muscles are like your faith muscles, each grow weak without stimulation. In order to know what God says you must get into and read His word. In order to clear your mind you have to get up and get moving with a purpose. So many great things happen inside our brains when we exercise and one of the most important things is that the chemistry in our brains makes us feel better. If you woke up today and your mind was as gray as the skies outside then you need to get into God's Word and then get outside and exercise. Depression doesn't have to own you, you are more than a conqueror in Jesus Christ. Jesus used to walk everywhere and maybe you need to as well.
We are all lost people until that day when we finally recognized our condition and turned to God. Sometimes even after we get found by God we still wander away only to return again through God's never-ending grace. Sometimes we even find God from the back of a police car and such is the story of Andrew and Jacquie Ferguson. Andrew and Jacquie's story is one that is filled with hope, encouragement and the firm belief that no one is ever too far gone for God to find and to save. When you listen to their story you will be reminded that God doesn't make mistakes and that he will take whatever situation you're in and glorify Himself through it as He raises you up. Imagine a life where you are able to use your hurts and your mistakes to help bring others to God all the while God blesses you for it. That's the story of Andrew and Jacquie. You're never too far gone for God.

Today we dive a little deeper into Ben Courson's book "Flirting With Darkness" and we discuss a call to arms as we weaponize God's HOPE against the spirit of darkness. To us at EYFPodcast, suicide is not the problem, alcohol and drugs are not the problem , the problem is a lack of hope, an ongoing state of despair where each day is more hopeless than the next. Take a few minutes today and see if you can use the weapon of 10,000 hours Ben has given us to walk with God and carry on a conversation with the God of Hope. It's all about God's Word and knowing it like we know the back of our hand. 10,000 hours in God's Word will make any gray day seem blue. A sheepdog protects the flock from any and all perils even when the sheep don't seem to want the support or respect the support. Sheepdogs are loyal to those they serve and willingly will risk it all to defend and protect as if their own life depends on it. Scott Medlin is one of those sheepdogs as he is an active law enforcement officer with many years behind the badge. Scott's story is like many in law enforcement today in that even though their is unrest, hate and what can only be described as lunacy from some. he still looks forward each day to going on duty to serve and protect even those that seek to destroy. This type of loyalty can take a toll on LEO's and Scott was moved at the beginning of 2020 to reach out to his fellow officers as he became aware that more officers die of suicide than on the job. Scott's calling led him to writing a book on how we can support law enforcement and how officers can help themselves get through the dark places they sometimes have to go.
Listen carefully at the end where Scott gives us as Christians and non-Christians some important and simple tips that we can do to help our officers get through their shifts. You will be blessed and so will your officers because you listened.

Many people view church as a place to go once or twice a week to get fed spiritually as well as physically. What if though the "church" instead came to the people? In the tiny town of Adelanto California God brought a man to do just that and Curbside Ministries was born. Pastor Abel was once lost in the world of drugs, gangs and deceit but God had a different purpose for all these experiences and took Abel's crooked path and made it straight. Pastor Abel's story is one of hope, encouragement and a never ending faith that God is going to do what he says he's going to do. If faith muscles were like our physical muscles pastor Abel would be a champion bodybuilder and God has showed Himself to be true to His word for Abel and his church. Whether you've been in church all your life or just putting your toe in the water to see if you like it, Pastor Abel's story is for you.

If you were able to listen yesterday (12/14/20) James and I had the awesome privilege to sit with author, speaker and Pastor Ben Courson to talk about his latest book "Flirting With Darkness. Rather than just making it a one and done interview we decided to build a bit of a series around the concepts of depression, suicide and the HOPE found in God and how with a bit of work we can pick up the weapons needed to destroy the negative spirits attacking us. We hope you enjoy it as much as we have in producing it. God Bless you.
There's more to exercising your faith than just getting to the cross. In order to get where we want to go we need to upgrade our mindset(remember we are a son or daughter of the almighty God), change the way we think (as we think we go) and monitor the Words we speak as there is death and LIFE in the power of the tongue. Ben Courson is the epitome of changing ones mindset from dark to light as he battled despair and hopelessness and turned his story into a rescue story for others. Ben has written two timely books the latest of which is titled "Flirting With Darkness" which is his successful approach to defeating depression by following 11 biblically based steps. Ben is about finding hope through exercising his faith in Jesus and through regular workouts designed to change the brains neurological patterns. Ben will be the first to tell you that God has wonderfully created all of us and the way we think, act and speak is no accident.
Today you have the opportunity to meet a gifted, talented but completely down to eart humble guy. He's been sharing God's Word since he was old enough to walk and his is a story you don't want to miss. You too can find strength and hope in God through the encouragement of His Word and through people like Ben. Enjoy!

Your life doesn't have to revolve around chaos and Allen helps us to order our lives around what God would have us do as we come against the tools of the enemy. It's not the chaos in our lives that is causing our problems but rather how we react to the chaos. In this time of fear, disorder, and conflict learn to defeat the lies by simply asking, "I wonder what God is working on here" and let the Holy Spirit teach you what to do. It's not about wining arguments but rather winning souls.

The EYFPodcast has made many friends over the past year and we just love to talk to Ron Hardin as he is the ultimate encourager! Ron's hopeful spirit is so infectious he could could make Nancy Pelosi see the good in Donald Trump. One of Ron's biggest gifts is his prophetic word that God has given him to write and this far Ron has produced three volumes of God's Mail which is a series of God's word laid upon Ron's heart on many different subjects. Each letter is a poem of God's unrelenting, redeeming Spirit described as only a modern day prophet could.
As our time grows short it's become more and more important to immerse yourself in the Word of God and to share so that others may have the peace you do so we at EYF believe strongly that you will win at Christmas by giving God's Word through Ron to anyone on your list. Find Ron and his books at www.godsmail.com.

You will hear over and over today about the "realness" of God. Just like we did at EYFPodcast, you need to let this idea wash over you like a wave at your favorite beach. You will also hear how much God loves you and if you can grasp what Heath is telling you, it will change your life. God is here today, right now, in this moment to bless you. Let Him.

Who is your identity in? What is your identity in? These are important questions all of us need to ask ourselves each day as the wrong answers can lead us away from who we are supposed to be in Christ. Christopher Yuan made a lot of "prodigal" choices in his life which led him away from God but God never stopped pursuing Chris and God used Chris's mom and a host of heaven's army to bring Chris back home. What a great story of God's unconditional love and huge lessons that we as parents can learn from.

Imagine growing up in a family in Iran during the time of the Shah. Now imagine that same family having to literally run for their lives in he dark of night and smuggle themselves out of Iran or risk execution. That was Kia's life growing up. Not allowed to play with other kids in the streets like most young boys growing, Kia dreamed of someday playing soccer professionally but until his family was forced to relocate from Teheran to Scottsdale Arizona he had never been on a team or even played the game outside of kicking the ball against a wall. At 17 though, after only 3 years of playing high school soccer, Kia signed a pro contract to play soccer. If that was the end of the story it would be amazing enough but as with all things God, it was only the beginning. Join us today to look inside the life of Kia, the kid who turned his dreams into reality by the grace of God.

Did you know that in the tiny country Eritrea there are over 500 Christians imprisoned solely for their belief in Jesus Christ? Have you heard about the Christian who was imprisoned in Russia and for whom the guards thought they would make sport of and threw him into a pit with a bunch of wild dogs? If you're like most of us the chances are not good unless you are a faithful reader of Jesus Freaks by dcTalk and the Voice of the Martyrs or an active listener of Voice of the Martyr radio. If this is the first time you have heard of Christian persecution then today is a great day because once you have heard you'll be changed for the better. Join us for a great conversation with Todd Nettleton the voice of "The Voice of the Martyrs" as he recounts the amazing things God is doing with prisoners overseas as well as with people here in the states that are learning to support them. There are many brothers and sisters in Christ that get up every day in a prison solely because they professed that Jesus is Lord. Learn how you can help (prayers and writing letters) so that their confession of who Jesus is will free them and lead others to Christ.
Be sure to support the ministry by purchasing a copy of the book and by visiting www.prisoneralert.com and www.persecution.org.

Imagine being born into drug addiction. Imagine both your parents are addicts whose main concern was not you, but rather where they were going to score their next hit of opioids. Now imagine that through all of this you still seek a better life and turn to God and start a support group for other kids just like you and you do all this not at the age of 25-30 but you did all this as you turned 16. That's Jocelyn Cooper and not only is her story worth listening to but it's worth getting involved with. Join us today for a story of hope against all the odds.
A lot of people take their pain and misfortune and run away with it or try and bury it in the hopes that it never returns. Then there are the kinds of people like Adam Davis who take their pain and count it as something good to be shared so that others might not have to suffer the same fate or at least have a guide to get them through it. Adam could sell and eskimo an ice cream cone so it's easy to see why people are drawn to him for help and answers. A former hostage negotiator for the police department and self-described not great husband, Adam took the things he'd see and done and let God turn them into something good. Adam is the epitome of Roman's 8:28. He's authored many books and helped reconstruct many lives through Jesus Christ who lives in him. After listening to Adam you'll probably want to reach out to him much like we did and when you do you'll probably find a friend.
Visit Adam at www.theadamdavis.com. Make sure when you are there you pick up a copy of "Behind the Badge" and give a copy or two to your local police departments and if you're married or know someone who is get "Bulletproof Marriage". You won't be disappointed.

Attack the flesh, destroy the flesh. The enemy uses the issue of sexual integrity to attack and destroy the men and women today through TV, social media, advertising and certainly through the Internet. Proven Ministries has been around for 19 years fighting the good fight and today we learn some valuable lessons from executive director Nick Liberto that parents, families and churches can implement to arm themselves and their congregations to fight against this beast. Join us for an enlightening discussion.

Starting today we are embarking on a new series with author Bruce Pulver, the Shakespeare of the South called Speak Life. There is power in the tongue and it is the most important muscle in the body because it can speak death and condemnation or it can SPEAK LIFE!. Join us as Bruce explains his simple system to bible study and coming to "GRIPS" with God's Word.
To learn more about Bruce and his unique way of studying the bible go to his website www.abovethechatterourwordsmatter.com and order his book. This is an awesome way to spread God's word and His encouragement and hope throughout the world.
Many people have the misconception that all racing is, is going fast and turning left. EYFPodcast got the chance to sit down with IndyCar racing legend and Team owner Davey Hamilton and we got an insiders look into what it's like to race at Indianapolis and in the race of life. According to Davey it's all about prayer, spiritual strength and growing in your faith when you're flying around a race track at 220 mph. Prayer does work in racing as does having faith in God but it is also for when life crashes all around you and you don’t know where to start to pick up the pieces. Follow Davey at Kingdom Racing (www.kingdomracing.net) and King of the Wing (www.kingofthewing.net) to find out where he's going to be racing at next on a wing and a prayer and be sure to subscribe to his plan for a better life:
1. Study the Word of God
2. Develop spiritual strength through prayer
3. Focus on scriptures on Faith
4. Exercise your faith daily
There is power in the tongue and the bible is very clear that our words and how we use them can either bring life or death. Even with that in mind how many times do we find ourselves carelessly throwing around words without pausing to think of the impact they may have. Bruce Pulver is the Shakespeare of the South, a man of God and a man of many words. We think so much of Bruce and his story and we know you will as well. Sit back, get your pencil and paper out and take notes and consider your "words" like never before. Bruce's book can be found at his website listed below and as a special show of grace Bruce personally autographs each book and gives a copy away for every book he sells to prison and homeless shelters throughout the U.S. Our words matter and so do our deeds so we hope you will purchase a book and get one sent to a dark place that needs God's light.

Okay you might also end up saying things like "amazing", "unbelievable", or even "heartbreaking." Or you might even be left speechless as we were. It's not very often you really get to meet someone as "real" as Faustino. We hope you enjoy it as much as we at the EYFPodcast did.
As we did you will want to buy his book to really dive into his story of God's unconditional love and undeserved grace.

We begin today a discussion on the topic of angels. Over the next few weeks we will dig a little deeper into who the angels are, what they do and how God uses them to do His work and help us to develop our purpose while here on earth. As always we recommend a pencil and some paper as there are some great ideas and verses given to us today. You can learn more about Pastor Glen at his site www.pillarsoffaith.com and on get his app in both IOS and Android at pillars of faith Christian.
Just like last week we provided parents with an important resource for back to school with Axis.org, James and I had the pleasure of sitting down with Lee Ann Mancini. Lee Ann is a noted children's author, Apologetics Professor (just ask her about Romans we dare you!) and amongst other amazing things is the creator of the cartoon series SeaKids. What Lee Ann is most noted for is her passion for kids and helping us raise them as Christ followers. Lee Ann's passion is infectious and don't be surprised if you feel like putting a helmet on and charging through a brick wall after listening. If you have a child, a grandchild or simply know someone who does, this story is for you.

Imagine working your whole life and being successful but being empty on the inside. Imagine accomplishing things financially that in the eyes of the world put you in that 1% but losing it all because of what that emptiness did to you and by what you did as a result. The enemy says you can do it on your own but living that way is a fools errand. We all need Jesus. We will all meet Jesus someday. They key is to meet him now while we can choose where we are going to spend eternity so we can prosper at the wellsprings of the river of life. We hope you enjoy today's show as much as we did in bringing it to you.

The best "points" are the easiest ones to make and be heard. The EYFPodcast got to sit down with Author, Pastor, Husband and Father Scott LaPierre this week and it was a joy to listen to simple truths said in a way that anyone could understand. As humans we have a tendency to think more and complex is better or smarter when the truth is really much less. Jesus Saves. A marriage with God at the center is a winning combination. Don't go into debt, tithe and flourish. Sit back and enjoy today's message, we know you will enjoy it as much as we did.

It's that time again where parents send their students off to school either in person or in a virtual world. Either way you as the mom and dad need to be just as prepared as your kids are in terms of what they're learning online, in and out of school and that's where www.axis.org comes in. Be sure to follow along with a pen or pencil as David is going to give you a bunch of resources that will help you as a parent to better understand the influences affecting your child and most importantly, give you the tools to have that lifelong conversation with your kids. I think we all need a cultural translator and AXIS has that and more.
You've probably heard that there is never too far a place to go away from God that He can't find you. If you understand God's loving and amazing grace you'll understand and be amazed by Herman's story. If you've never understood what God's grace was then you'll be blown away by Herman's story. The rise and fall of one of New York's most notorious drug kingpins, with the redemption of God's unconditional love and grace. You'll be moved by what you hear as we were when we talked with Herman. Sit back, and enjoy another testimony of redemption and restoration.
For even more good news you need to buy Herman's book Shifting Shadows on amazon at https://www.amazon.com/Shifting-Shadows-Found-Freedom-Expected/dp/0764236164/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3UNLLNQ5XEEZG&dchild=1&keywords=herman+mendoza&qid=1595532892&sprefix=herman+me%2Caps%2C204&sr=8-1

To hear it directly from Mike, listening to him can be likened to drinking from a fire hose. We have met quite a few people at EYFPodcast along the way and there is no one like Mike. He has a passion that is so infectious that he will have you fired up and ready to run through a brick wall and afterwards you'll get up, dust yourself off and get ready to do it again. Mike has built a legacy by using biblical truths to impact 1000's of kids and coaches and in doing so has created champions, built from the inside out. Cross Training Athletics is so much more than a character building program and we know after listening you will agree. Do yourself a favor and put your phone down, strap in to a comfortable chair and listen. You will end this podcast a better person because you did.

Lot's of people you meet are different on the outside than who they are on the inside but not so with Vernon. He is a man of God through and through and the amount of knowledge he brings to the podcast today could literally change the direction your life is going in. Praying, fasting, meditating on God's word in order to hear his voice are all staples of Vernon's daily walk with Christ. Sit back and enjoy a conversation with former NFL great Vernon Fox III.

When you think of becoming a king what comes to your mind? For most it's likely going to be a slightly different perspective than what nationally acclaimed writer Morgan Snyder has put forth in his new book, "Becoming a King". The EYFPodcast had the opportunity to sit down with Morgan this week and in doing so we dived right into the idea of restoring what God has given us to do. We learned that we all have a "kingdom" that God has put us in charge of and we explored the relationship of father to son and what it means to have a heavenly Father. This is a time to savor so find a quiet place and sit back and enjoy listening. You'll walk away a better son, and daughter of the Most High.
Morgan can be found at www.becomegoodsoil.com and you can purchase his book at www.becomingaking.com. Morgan is partners with John Eldredge at Ransomed Heart ministries and we at EYF highly recommend you join forces with Ransomed Heart as part of their subscription services. The more connected to God you are, the better the outcomes. Find the resources you need at www.RansomedHeart.com.

Have you ever had that idea put on your heart by God to do something and thought, "yes, I could do that" but in the next breath say "I probably shouldn't because I might fail or someone else is probably already doing it." We at EYF know what this is like and when you meet someone who took the idea that God put on their heart and actually ran with it you know you need to listen. Cathy Parker heard God and then did something a lot of people forget to do, she listened. Then she obeyed and the rest is the story of Northern Lights, the true field of dreams that God brought to Barrows Alaska through Cathy Parker. We encourage you to read her book and listen to the podcast several times as there are so many nuggets you'll have your own gold mine at the end.
Cathy can be reached at www.beyondtheballfield.com and you can purchase her book there as well. This is a can't miss opportunity for you and a life changer if you ever thought that God had placed a dream on your heart.

We often think that heroes need an S on their chest or ride around in a Fire truck. Holland Webb is one such hero but he doesn't have a cape nor does he pal around with the super heroes at the bat cave. Holland is hero because he stepped out into the unknown and rescued two kids who didn't have a father and became a dad to them. He usually writes about others stories but has launched a really great set of stories called "Adventures in Fatherhood" with fellow author Carlton Hughes. In it Holland shares the adventures good and bad that have come with raising two kids on his own. Holland shares his insights into fatherhood and in doing so will help you on your path to becoming a better dad. Enjoy our time together here at the EYFPodcast.

Jesus said to not let our hearts be troubled. He is preparing a place for you and me and best of all, He's going to come back and get us. Simply put, don't worry, be happy.
Have you ever met someone for the first time but it seemed like you knew them your whole life? We at the EYFPodcast sat down with coach Mark and it was as if we had been friends our whole life. You can tell a person is genuine right away and we know you will agree after listening to Coach. Coach owns and operates PJNET.tv which is a mission driven platform for ordinary Christians to share their testimony. He's the studio host, the producer, the writer and pays all the bills and it's testimony of God that Coach has been blessed to bring PJNET to the masses. It's truly a joy to listen to coach and you'll walk away a better person because you did.

God wants everyone to be saved, including you. He asks that we pray for everyone, from the average person to our rulers and authorities. Don't waste your time getting angry at someone, take the time instead to pray for them. It's simple and I guarantee you'll feel better.
How much more simple can it be? Come to Jesus all you who are tired. Get yoked to Jesus. Doesn't get any better than this.
It seems that we have a hard time as Christians really believing. It's not that we don't believe but we seem to doubt that promises are for us and that somehow we're not worthy. Nothing could be further from the truth. Listen to James explain.
KISS theory in action. Christianity is not supposed to be complicated. Love your God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself comes to mind. In Ephesians 5: 1-2 we see that simple faith is explained this way. Be imitators of God. Pretty simple indeed.
The EYFPodcast sat down with today with award winning children's author and Christ follower Michelle Medlock Adams. Michelle has been using the written word to glorify Christ as well as help others to tell their stories of faith. Michelle has taken all these gifts and rolled them into her newest effort Platinum Literary Services (www.platlit.com) where helping others help others is the focus. Michelle's personal story is one of faith over fear and is not to be missed. Michelle can be reached at www.michellemedlockadams.com or at www.platlit.com.
Yesterday we looked at the beginning of Luke 21 and the idea of the temple being destroyed and the concepts of the end times. Our focus is not to "focus" on the end but to be aware and plan accordingly so we can be ready. Ask yourself today, if Jesus came back this afternoon, would you be ready and would you be going home with Him?
How much toilet paper do you have on hand? Since when did our lives revolve around toilet paper anyway? It seems our focus has shifted and the world is off track. We need to get our minds right and prepare God's way using His words, not ours as we look at Luke 21 today.
No one is too far gone for God. No one is too far for God to save and once you listen to Pastor Ron Hardin you too will see that God will move heaven and earth to get to you and to get your attention. Listening to Ron is like sitting in the front row of a roller coaster so sit back, tighten your seat belt and get ready to go along for the ride of your life.
To learn more about Ron and his ministry and to purchase his books please go to www.godsmail.com.
Jesus wasn't complicated. His message was pretty simple. Love God, love others. Trust and obey. Part of exercising your faith is working on these simple truths as you go about your day. Take the time to prepare for the times life gets complicated by working on the simple truth that Christ offers.
Professional drummer, songwriter, lead actor, motivational speaker. Age 21. What? Get ready to meet wisdom head on with the amazing Cole Marcus. Whether it's performing in front of thousands or on the silver screen in the movie "I Can Only Imagine", getting to talk to Cole is an awesome experience.
As we wrap up the story of Joseph's dreams from God it's important to remember that if God gives you a vision or a dream it's so you can be blessed but that God will be glorified. God is attempting to use you in such a way as to reach others and help them and glorify Himself. Imagine if Joseph's heart attitude centered around the idea of "what's in it for me?" We are vessels and every ship has a captain. Today our hope is that you are letting Jesus guide you down whatever road you find yourself on.
How many of us can claim a resume like Joseph's? Favorite son. Hated brother. Tossed in a pit and sold into slavery. Falsely accused of rape and thrown into prison. All of this in preparation to become 2nd in command in Egypt and save not only his nation of Egypt but also the nation of Israel. We don't always know all the answers but you can rest assured that if it came from God, your job is to follow that dream and trust and obey.
John Eldredge is an author, a counselor, and a teacher. He is also president of Ransomed Heart, a ministry devoted to helping people discover the heart of God, recover their own hearts in God's love, and learn to live in God's Kingdom. Today John shares with us some keys to disconnecting from a world that constantly begs for our attention and reconnecting with God. These pro tips are simple yet super powerful and will help you gain a peace that only God can provide.
Imagine you're in high school and your English teacher gave you an open book test? The teenager in you might say "Yes, I don't have to study I can just look up the answers on test day," but what if the book was 1000 pages long and had 66 chapters? Life is about preparation and the Bible is the ultimate handbook for life and when the tests in life come wouldn't it be easier to know where the answers are located rather than having to scramble each time you get hit with a test? Prepare for today and tomorrow by reading your bible and studying God's word so when the tests come (and they will) you'll have all the answers.
David's simple message of trust and obey will really touch home with you. In this conversation you will be encouraged by his message of hope and faith. Not every story of redemption has to go through a steep steep valley of despair. David's story will lift you up and give you fresh perspective.

What is God's plan for your life? Have you sat down in a quiet place and really prayed for God to show you His will for your life? Beneniah had a choice and so do you. You can face your fears or you can run from them. Our upcoming interview with Cathy Parker really will help you focus on learning how to figure it out. Write it down, pray about it and look for confirmation. Chase the lion and open up a whole new world of God's purpose for your life.
When you were a kid you had big dreams and our question to you today is where did your dreams go? It's so easy to let life, marriage, parenting, jobs and bills blind us to the person and place God wants for us. We all need to go back to the Father and realize that He can move mountains and open up the doors of our hearts through our big dreams.
Today's episode is a must listen for everyone for a ton of reasons. Are you dealing with a chronic illness? Whitney's story is for you. Are you bitter about a disappointment? Whitney's story is for you. If you think God isn't involved in the little things in your life? Whitney's story is for you.

Testimonies are our opportunity to tell others what God has done for us. A lot of folks feel that they aren't good enough or smart enough to share about God because of their past. God doesn't care so much about what you know so long as who you know is Jesus. God's job is to restore you, your job is to tell others how He did it. Simple enough but oh so powerful.
All we can say is wow after listening to Scott Haima, President of the Christian Service Brigade talk about the unique relationship that is Father to Son. Even if you're a mom you can still take away a ton to help raise your son into the Godly man you wish him to be. Sit back, relax and listen to Scott share the message God has put on his heart.

Wisdom is the principal thing. Once you obtain wisdom from God all others doors will open up. When we try to solve issues on our own we quickly realize our resources are limited. Why not seek the unlimited wisdom and power of the almighty God?
Imagine building a life around "love". Seems kind of silly to say that as it's a no brainer but how many of us love the unlovable? It's easy to dismiss those who are mean or indifferent to us but God said to love your neighbor as yourself and guess who is your neighbor? Everyone is your neighbor. Serving others is a form of love and Chick Fil A has established itself as one of the top service businesses in the world. Learning to love everyone is a process but a goal that is worthy of the pursuit.
The EYFPodcast had an opportunity last week to talk with Trudy Cathy White, Co-Owner of Chick Fil A and it was an EAR OPENING experience as she shared the reason for her families success in the restaurant business. The Cathy's family secret? Basic Biblical principles. Today we discuss FAITH.
Attention EYFPodcast listeners, you are in for a treat today as we sat down with Chick Fil A's Trudy Cathy White where she laid out the success strategy that will make you and your business a success. The secret? Biblical principles really work. God blesses those who bless others. You will want to listen this one several times and take notes because Trudy's simple truths are simply God's simple truths and we all have much to learn and take in. Sit back and enjoy a true treasure, Trudy Cathy White.

The EYFPodcast comes home today as you get a chance to listen to Dave's testimony of how God helped him through an addiction to pain killers. Hopefully through his willingness to share his struggle someone out there will find hope in theirs.

Hebrews 4:1-3
1Therefore, while the promise of entering His rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be deemed to have fallen short of it. 2For we also received the good news just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, since they did not share the faith of those who comprehended it.a
3Now we who have believed enter that rest.
Psalm4:6-8
6Many ask, “Who can show us the good?”
Shine the light of Your face upon us, O LORD.
7You have filled my heart with more joy
than when grain and new wine abound.
8I will lie down and sleep in peace,
for You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.
Psalm 23
A Psalm of David.
1The LORD is my shepherd,
I shall not want.
2He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters.
3He restores my soul;
He guides me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake
Rosa's story is simply amazing. God healed her son of blood cancer and left the doctors dumbfounded. Be encouraged today, God wants you well and Jesus paid a heavy price for your healing. Listen to today's episode for all of the details.
Proverbs 3:5-6 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight
Psalm 34:17-18 17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them;
he delivers them from all their troubles.
18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
1Corinthians1 5-7
5 For in him you have been enriched in every way—with all kinds of speech and with all knowledge— 6 God thus confirming our testimony about Christ among you. 7 Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed.
AT the EYFPodcast we love to hear a good testimony as there is nothing better than to hear about what God has done in the life of another believer. Today we bring you the story of Sarah and how God moved her mother-in-law in ways not thought possible.
What would you rather have? A fight or avoiding a fight? A battle or the avoidance of a battle? Instead of asking God for strength in a battle, how about asking God to help you avoid the battle entirely? Today we finish the last part of the Prayer of Jabez where we examine the verse that asks for God to keep evil away from me so as to not cause me pain (or cause pain to others). We know that the way we fight as Christians is on our knees and that the victory is the Lord's so maybe simply asking for God to keep the evil one away from you might be the best thing.
When your kids were young you made it a point to hold their hand whenever you felt an extra layer of security was necessary. Since we know that God is the Good, Good Father, how much more does he seek to put His hand upon us as he watches our actions. Embrace Him. Embrace God's divine grip in your lives. We at EYFPodcast recommend hanging onto God's hand like your life depended on it, because it does.
In our second of the 4 part series on the Prayer of Jabez we discuss the concept of "Enlarging our Borders" and what we believe God meant when He put this in the bible. God is a God of Grace, a God of Goodness and is a Good, Good, Father. See what you might have in store when you ask God to Enlarge your borders.
Join us for a week long exploration into 1 Chronicles 4: 9-10, the Prayer of Jabez. In addition to giving an overview of the prayer today we dive in to the idea of "Bless me Indeed!" as we seek to gain God's favor over our lives.

Jeremiah29:11
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Should a Christian tithe? Aren't we under grace and not the law? Why does a God who has everything and has made everything want my money? Whose money is it anyways? We at EYFpodcast hope to answer these questions and challenge you to step out in faith and begin one of the most awesome journeys ever, tithing. You can't out give God, but is sure fun trying.

Mathew11:28-30

1Peter5:7
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. You don't have to go through it alone. Cast, call on, search, throw your pain, your hurt, your doubt, your fears at the feet of Jesus.
Psalm46:10-11
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”
The Lord Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.

1Samuel15:22
But Samuel replied, “What is more pleasing to the LORD: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams

Today we have the pleasure of speaking with a good friend of our's Beau Moore. Beau has led a life that reads like a really bad country song but unlike many of those it has a happy ending as Beau was redeemed and restored by God. Though battling with meth and heroin addiction, gangs, satanism and an abusive family, Beau was never too far away from God as he discovered that he was only one step away from redemption. Beau drops some serious God knowledge on us and some excellent resources and help for you. Hebrews12:21-22
21And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, “I AM FULL OF FEAR and trembling.” 22But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels.

To guard you in all your ways.
12They will bear you up in their hands,
That you do not strike your foot against a stone.
You are protected!
But those who wait on the Lord will find new strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. This word is for YOU!
