Hear Bill and Gloria chat with their good friend, Jim Brown, Senior National Sales Manager for LG Electronics Energy Storage Systems. Jim has been instrumental in developing relationships across the country with renewable energy dealers whose focus is assisting homeowners wishing to protect their homes and families in the event of a power outage. Living in the Sunshine State is a true delight until Mother Nature decides to send a tropical storm or hurricane our way. Then it is time to make a decision on how to prepare for an event that can bring a loss of power and darkness, where once there was light. The LG Home 8 ESS (Energy Storage System), is specifically designed to provide power when the grid is down. When teamed with a Solar-Fit solar power system, the LG Home 8 creates a perpetual power plant, as the sun charges the Home 8 during that day, and the Home 8 powers the residence at night. Think of the LG Home 8 like a generator...but without the fumes, the maintenance, the noise, and the requirement for fuel. The fuel is provided for free... by the sun. How cool is that? Jim does a wonderful job of explaining the operation and the benefits of using and storing renewable energy. We will be visiting Jim's LG display in Anaheim, California this week at RE+, the largest solar and solar storage conference in America and I am sure we will have a chance to have him share more information with you, our listening audience, next week.

Hear Bill and Gloria talk about the wonderful world of solar storage. Did you know that solar power, combined with solar storage, can protect your home in the event of an unexpected power outage?
Why should this be a concern? Well, if you live in Florida, and the TV screen shows that small dot off the coast of Africa is getting bigger...and the weather reporters start to get more excited...that means a hurricane is brewing and no one knows for sure where it will land. As beautiful and welcoming as our state is, the one weather report that no one wants to hear is..."a hurricane is heading our way".
If a storm of great magnitude hits our area, and the power goes out...there is no way of knowing when it will come back on. Downed trees and power lines create issues for all, as even if we have a generator, there may be no way to get fuel. By contrast, solar power with battery storage will allow us to keep our food fresh, our lights on, and our communication and home security systems working as well. Join us for this important discussion about protecting our homes and families during a power outage by using the Sun's free energy, and having it available to use at night or when the street lights go dark. It is always better to be prepared...than to wish we were prepared! Give us a call today if you would like to learn more about protecting your home and property. (386) 441-2299

This was truly a fun conversation with two amazing people who share their passion for utilizing the sun's free energy with a healthy dose of humor...which is the key to happiness. On their journey to energy independence, they initially met with Gloria several years ago and invested in a Solar-Fit solar pool system. After seeing first hand the effectiveness of this technology, they invited Gloria back to discuss investing in a solar power system and a solar water heating system to take control of their ever increasing utility costs. As they say, "the rest is history". They are now enjoying a $25/month electric bill, swimming in solar heated comfort, and have a plentiful supply of hot water... thanks to the sun. We think you will enjoy hearing how they made their decision to Solar-Fit their home, and their "first hand" advice about what to look for when choosing a lifetime solar partner.

Dave has been an industry leader for more than three decades and he was recently inducted into the FlaSEIA Solar Hall of Fame...an awesome, well deserved achievement for a lifetime of service in the solar industry.
One of the prime topics Bill and Dave shared is the formation of the Florida Solar Energy Apprenticeship Program. This program is the first and only solar apprenticeship in the country to be registered with the U.S. Department of Labor, and approved by the Florida Department of Education. The explosive growth of the solar industry in Florida requires the rapid development of skilled workers to handle the demand for solar power, which is increasing each day. The Florida Solar Apprentice Program works in concert with participating solar contractors to train individuals to become skilled in every facet of solar energy system deployment, including solar power systems, solar thermal systems, and solar storage applications. This program will greatly benefit homeowners and solar contractors alike by training individuals to become skilled technicians to professionally and safely install and service solar systems in our rapidly growing industry. Thank you Dave, for your years of service to our industry, and for your work in helping develop the solar apprenticeship program. Special thanks as well to our friend, Colleen Kettles, Director of Business Development at the Florida Solar Energy Center for her dedication to the solar industry and her guidance in developing the Florida Solar Apprenticeship Program.

Bill’s conversation with Dave Jenkins, President - Conservatives for Responsible Stewardship. Dave goes into great detail about the consequences of the potential passage of Florida HB 741 which is currently on the desk of Governor DeSantis, awaiting his signature. This bill involves solar "net metering", a provision which provides fair compensation for homeowners and business owners who invest in solar power and send their excess energy from the sun...back to the utility grid to be used to reduce the necessity to produce more power from traditional fossil fuel sources. This bill, if passed, would undermine the current energy policy for the Sunshine State and prevent a competitive marketplace while protecting utility monopolies' profits. Passage will result in unnecessary price increases in utility rates. At a time when we need every available kilowatt to reduce our dependence upon importing natural gas from other states, this legislation simply does not make sense. Dave details the potential economic loss for our state by discouraging businesses with clean energy initiatives from locating their operations here. Recent polls have shown that 84% of Floridians are in favor of keeping "net metering" which benefits every citizen. In spite of this unprecedented number, vested interests are still moving to negate personal freedom of choice and consequently driving up utility costs for all.
The basic questions regarding this bill are:
Should the utilities be allowed to make a fair profit? Of course, they should. Should homeowners and business owners be allowed to be fairly compensated as well? Of course, they should.
Thank you, Dave, for sharing this important information with our listening audience. If you are concerned about the direction the Sunshine State is heading, please take a moment to call Governor DeSantis's office today at (850) 717-9337 and urge him to veto HB 741 to protect the citizens of Florida and keep us on the path to a clean energy future. Your call can make a difference as it shows the will of the people to protect our personal freedom.

In addition to the Marc Bernier Show, a daily community update for our local listening audience.... he also hosted BookMarc, "Weekend Around the House", the Embry-Riddle Speakers Series, and a very successful restaurant show. How he found the time for all of these venues, no one knows. He was an endless ball of energy and enthusiasm... and an inspiration to us all.
Please take time to tune in and learn more about Marc's successful career. He was truly "one of a kind" and he will be missed by everyone in our community, and by loyal out of town listeners across our great country as well.

Hear Bill chat with Congressman Michael Waltz.
Congressman Waltz is the first Green Beret to serve in Congress, and an outstanding individual who truly loves our country.

A special "thank you" and salute to Congressman Waltz for taking time out of his busy schedule to visit our office /showroom to talk about renewable energy, and for joining us "on air" to share interesting information with our listening audience.
It is reassuring to know that a true American patriot "has our backs", when it comes to protecting us from threats, foreign and domestic...and allowing us to enjoy the freedom that we cherish.
