Inspired by some of the guitar greats & instrumental bands from the 60's and 70's era. I produce mostly original instrumental guitar tracks. and involved in the odd collaboration.

A tribute to Mike Oldfield with a Guitar Instrumental rendition of the classic tune, Moonlight Shadow.Thanks for listening.Information gathered from Wikipedia;Released as a single on the 6th May 1983 by Virgin Records, and included on his eighth album, Crises, of the same year.It has been suggested that the lyrics of the song are a reference to the murder of John Lennon, despite the fact that the events in the song do not correspond with those of Lennon's murder.When asked whether "Moonlight Shadow" is a reference to John Lennon's murder in a 1995 interview. Oldfield responded.."Not really... well, perhaps, when I look back on it, maybe it was. I actually arrived in New York that awful evening when he was shot and I was staying at the Virgin Records house in Perry Street, which was just a few blocks down the road from the Dakota Building where it happened, so it probably sank into my subconscious. A cover of the classic rock ballad Lucky Man by Emerson Lake & Palmer. I'm dedicating this cover to Daniel Hoffay a.k.a https://soundcloud.com/kogwonton here on Soundcloud where you'll find many more of his great covers. Daniel sent me his guitar stem for this track just before he passed away 19/05/2022 and finally after a remix it's now completed. R.I.P Dan, this one's for you.
The origin of the song, as stated by Greg Lake in interviews, is that it was the first song he wrote, when his mother bought him a guitar when he was 12. With the first chords he learned (D, A minor, E minor, and G), he wrote an acoustic version of the song. In early 1968, Lake would rehearse the song with King Crimson.
The song came to be used on Emerson, Lake & Palmer's debut album when they needed one more song. Lake played the version he had written from childhood, but the rest of the band did not like it, feeling it would not fit with the other album tracks. Lake then worked on it in the studio with Carl Palmer. Lake added numerous overdubs of bass, triple-tracked acoustic guitars, electric guitar, and harmony vocals until it "sounded like a record." This version of the song — with a second electric guitar solo in place of where Emerson would later overdub his Moog solo — is featured on the album's deluxe edition.
Unlike several songs on the album, which use a distorted fuzz bass to sound like a guitar, "Lucky Man" is an acoustic ballad. The lyrics tell the story of a man who had everything, went to war, and died.

A classic folk rock ballad "Lucky Man" © 1970 by Emerson Lake & Palmer.Greg Lake wrote the lyrics(below)when he was just 12 years old.The lyrics tell the story of a man who had everything, went to war, and died.The band didn't like the piece originally, but eventually releasing the track after a full arrangement was produced and featured on their debut album.This cover is a collaborative project with the late Daniel Hoffay, aka Kogwonton, more of Dan's great work here.. @kogwontonAn experimental first for me as vocal work is not my forte.I asked Daniel many years ago if he would do a cover on the piece, and just before he passed away he sent me the guitar stem, and what a fine job he presented me with. A best of album taken from albums 1 - 4 produced between 2015-17. A collaborative project with https://soundcloud.com/aedificium (thanks mate), we expanded greatly on the first album so i've prepared this condensed version with several favourite tracks from all four albums and produced a more or less animated feature film along with it in the theme of a science- fiction adventure titled "Origin of Orion" Many years in production, collaborating and producing this overall scope on the theme with music and film, it's been quite a long journey but very satisfying and much fun, i can now lay this one to rest. A big ask but i hope you can enjoy this mini-epic to it's full duration of 27mins. Experimental sessions with the Mellotron 4000 virtual-synth.
Always loved the sound of this classic 60's-70's haunting synth so i've created several transitioned verses in a progressive guitar-rock style. A bit of a mixed genre, i started off with a kind of Morricone/Leone idea of a wild west spaghetti-western vibe, then a friend and musician Dave Svensson suggested i expand on it, thus creating a blend of Spanish, Folk, Classical, Rock and a dash of Blues fused together with this classic synth. Light Years, the final track from the album Parallels. A while in the making, and mixes together several ideas i had for single tracks for the album, and connects with a previous longer track Nucleus, creating a path or journey through space and time along with several other tracks relating to the theories and current laws of physics and the cosmos. We dedicate this version of "Let There Be Light", one of Mike Oldfield's brilliant pieces of music to the Oldfield family, we are also greatly inspired by these gifted and very talented musicians.
David asked me to perform some guitar on his version, and is one of his favourite pieces by Mr Oldfield, and I gladly accepted. This is also one of my first at an improvised cover, and a great choice by David indeed.
