I had the unique privilege to talk with Jaxen and 2 of his friends about how they make decisions. Colin Duxbury, Jake Rosenfeld, Jaxen, and I talk, laugh, and share about what it looks and feels like to make decisions for young me their age. I learned a lot. I know you will too.

What we do and say matter, publicly and privately. Decisions shape our character. Character determines the trajectory of our future. My sons and I will talk, share, and laugh, about decisions that shaped our character.

Rhyen leads his own episode and invites some friends to talk about their future. Sometime we share more freely when we're with people we trust. What about your friends? You trust 'em? Are they praying for you or preying on you? Healthy relationships are like air in our lungs. When you find them, be intentional, and cherish every moment you're privileged to have with them.

What if we lived our lives like we really believed our choices mattered? Like our lives mattered? Like God was real and mattered? If we did, our choices would be better. They wouldn't be self centered. We'd put others first. Everyone's life and communities would mater. Because they do. How do you live your life? Does it matter? During this episode, our conversation turned a bit. It revealed some hurts that prevent us from living like our lives matter. Hurts come from so many people, places, and things. Church hurt is one of the most painful. As a parent, we often think our children don't see things. That's so untrue. Our children see everything. They may not understand what they see. But, when they do, the scars can run deep and long.

The future is open for all of us. It can be whatever we believe it can. The key is the belief. What we believe is the center of who we are and where we're going. Who the surround ourselves with is equally as important. Toxic people suck and have no place in our lives. Friend or family, there's no room in our lives for toxic waste or negative thoughts. Unconditional love and faith is paramount in everything we do. Love doesn't mean we have to be stay in contact/community. Some you have to let go. And as we do, we let go of fear. Our future is bright... it we let it be.

Life since the Pandemic has been different, to say the least. Families had no clues then, and even less now. I may seem like life is getting back to normal, but what is normal now. The only thing normal is change. Family relationships have been strained during this time. Before that too, if the truth be told. Life... requires that we get used to change, be patient with each other, and listen.

Change is the only constant in our lives. Seconds pass. Breaths, inhale and exhale. Moment-by-moment passes and we take some many of them for granted. We're not entitled to the ones we're using, not to mention the next. We need to cherish each. It is essential to be present in the very moment that we're in. We need to live like the each moment is the last one we'l every have. This is a pain lesson I knew when my mother and then mother-in-law passed, but tragically learned when my wife died. Almost since the beginning of time, people have been talking about the end of time. I am not sure when that is, but I do know that I have be know and be alert for the signs. In between time and in the meantime, we need know how to identify False Teachers. This brief series is the message that gave recently at Weapons of Mass Destruction's Tuesday night study. Ever have issues with relationships? The same issues keep popping up? Ever think that people don't really know you? You're probably right, because you didn't let them know you. I mean really know you. So often we put up facades to protect ourselves, and use stereotypes to judge others. Neither are good, and leave us in places of misunderstanding, confusion, and frustration. We need to speak up and set healthy boundaries and expectations with everyone you are in contact. Join the Boyz and I as we talk about who we are.

What are we showing the world, versus what do we think we're showing? It should be the same, but for many, it's different. That difference matters. It leads to misunderstandings, frustrations, and regret. We have to find out what matters to us, and live that out consciously. It takes effort, and intentionality. This is something that I want my sons to learn early in life. They should not need to correct this 30, 50, or more years in. Do you know if you're sending the message that you truly want sent? Ask someone who you've allowed to know you and you'll find out.

The Boyz and I finish our discussion about race, racial slurs, and the concept of S.L.U.R: Speak Life Undo Racism. It was an awesome topic to speak with my sons about. As parents, we need to do this more than just when the lights are brightest and the streams are going. This is an every that thing. We need to remain vigilant and attentive to their thought and needs. If we aren't the world is. The world view is not one that is healthy, nor do I want my children's children's children to have.

Racial SLURs seem to be so commonplace in today's society. But how is that possible? Home training, that's how. One of my sons said that it was the lack of good or any home training. The sad part is, good, bad, or without, training still training. What we model out for our children is what they learn and imitate. If you want to get a view your parenting, listen to your children speak. Watch then live and interact with their friends. Check their social media. Especially their fake accounts used to troll people. Afraid of what you'll see? Many of us parents should be.
I this episode, we step away from tell our past and deal with out present and future. It was a bit uncomfortable at point in our conversation. Why? Because it was out truth that we don't normally discuss outside our home. In this cancel culture, speak something that is unpopular can have it's consequences. But, the truth will make us free. The key is to know the truth. So much information comes from unqualified sources. People just typing or saying something so of then that they would never say to or about the intended person if they were face-to-face. I am certain, many of those words would never have crossed their minds with the cyber distance between them providing their confidence to speak so disrespectfully. I am not speaking against our right to freedom of speech. What I'm saying is that it's not what you say in so many cases, but rather how you say it. We need to Speak Life and Undo Racism, Rhetoric, Reasons that separate us, etc. We need to return to our first love and teach love. That will cover a multitude of evils/sins.

The 2021/2022 school year is upon us. Those that are fortunate to escape school, still can't avoid responsibility some person, place or thing. It is up to us to be ready, patient, consistent. Our children need us. We need us. Besides, we're adult in the relationship. This doesn't mean that we don't get mad or disappointed in our children. It means that we express it, deal with it, and move on from it. If we know better we should do better. If you've listened to The RZNGMEN Show any length of time, then I know you know better. So it's time to do better.

Responsibility can be defined as the state or fact of being responsible, answerable, or accountable for something within one's power, control, or management (Dictionary.com: https://www.dictionary.com/browse/responsibility). We all need to be responsible for at least ourselves. If we're going to be a parent, then we're going to need to learn to be responsible for something else before it has to be someone else. Life changing experiences occur when we learn to consider someone else's wellbeing above our own. This is what my youngest sons are learning now with their 2 young puppies. Listen in as they share what they've learned in a very short time. Their lives have changed for better to the point that even they have notice. As a dad, I could not ask for too much more. There aren't many times as parent that I get to experience the outcome of a tough lesson that I'm trying to teach. Here, lesson learned. This one however, will continue to teach for years to come.

We continue our conversation about what we're afraid of. I am removing "Terrified" from our vocabulary and replacing it with "Terridependence". "Terri-dependence" or being "Terri-dependent" is casting our cares on God, because he cares for us. 1 Peter 5:7 TPT - If you bow low in God’s awesome presence, he will eventually exalt you as you leave the timing in his hands. Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you. There's peace and freedom in doing this. I challenge everyone to try being "Terri-dependent.

Our summer is full swing. Inside, outside, and upside down. This week we talk about what distance learning has done to us, gaps in our learning, and expectations for the upcoming year. We even talk about how the death of their mother prepared them for what we've experienced the past year or so. After trauma of losing their mother, everything else is easy to adjust to and deal with. Even COVID. I'm not saying that to provoke any more trauma, but the truth is that enemy is always after us anyway. Any on the days that he isn't, we're struggling with ourselves anyway. It can often feel the same sadly enough. Join us on The RZNGMEN Show. C'mon. Laugh, cry, and grow with us.

Summertime is our favorite time of the year. Especially since so many areas are opening up again. There are options that weren't an option a year ago. But, moment of everyday can't be playtime. Nice try, but it's not healthy, realistic, or positive. Oh, just me huh? OK. Before fun can be had with electronics, there are some things that need to be done. I encourage my sons to get the tasks done first, then I can't say much about what they do with the rest of their day. Join us as we discuss how that looks and feels in our home. Do they like it? What does being a father mean to? Is it important? Do you feel some kinda way when you think about the concept of a father? Being a father has been my primary job over the past 8 years. I had to learn how to shepherd by son's hearts. I had to heal, and help them heal. I had to lead, and I listen. I couldn't afford to lose anything or anyone else. But, that was out of my hands. Thankfully, I have not physically lost any of my sons, but I have lost family and people I thought were friends. I wanted my sons, and men, to know that if I could make it, anyone can. I wanted to bring a message of hope to men. More importantly, I want men to have tools to help them heal, learn, and grow into the fully developed men they were intended. It's a process. We're all works in process. We have to trust it. Trust the process.

I often find that I downplay my abilities. What I do is not as good everyone else. In some cases, true, it's not. But, not every case. I can do all things through give me strength. I can speak the things into my life that are not currently not as though they already are. It's about perspective. It's about out belief in who and whose we are. Focusing on the miracles of God keeps us moving forward and focused what's important. God's important. His plan for us is important. The steps He has ordered for us are perfect, though they may feel bananas and outrageous. Perfect none the less. My sons and I have been through a heck of a lot, but we don't look like what we've been through. There's so much healing we've been through. So much grace we've shown. Even more mercy.

Looking back over our life, we had some good days, and some really, really tough ones too. But, if we didn't go through them all, we would never be right where we are today. These lessons have helped us realize that the pressure and heat we've been under over these past years is shaping us into who and what God wants us to be. We just need to trust Him and his process. We can punch out early. He's not finished with us yet. Coal only becomes a diamond if it remains under pressure and heat over the required time. I don't want to have gone through all of this just to burnout like coal. I want to reflect God's love and glory like a finely cut diamond.

Mental health is an essential. thing. Many of us disregard its importance until we find ourself in a crisis. I'm so glad that I have come to realize the importance and benefit. It was great to have the opportunity to share time and space with another of my Life Coaches. Some people ask me when do you have so many? Because, they are some of the best people that I trust to speak into my life on the coaching level. Today, I Greg & Gina Billings from Billings family coaching join me. At the end of this episode, we have a special sneak preview of The Framewerk.

Superman possesses the powers of flight, superhuman strength, x-ray vision, heat vision, cold breath, super-speed, enhanced hearing, and nigh-invulnerability. While Superman is immensely strong both in terms of muscle power and ability to take physical punishment, he is not all-powerful.
Question #1
Which of Superman’s powers are your greatest strength and which is your greatest weakness?
Question #2
Who is your arch enemy or nemesis, and what is your Kryptonite?
Question #3
With as strong as Superman was, he never seemed to go all out until his life depended on it. What keeps you from going all out all the time and handle our business up front?
Question #4
When you face you same enemy again after you already beat them, how do we approach him? Do you take them for soft and easy, or do you take them out

I was led to create this study a few years ago, but I had not finished it. But, now is the time. We’re going to use the DC Comics character Superman as our reflection of the men that God has created us to be. We’re not perfect by any means, but we often use those same characteristics of Superman to hurt and heal. I have bee blessed to be joined by several men as we discuss this topic. This week I’m joined by Sean Bouldin (@seanbouldin) and Joe Turner (@1niceblend). Sean is a recording artist (7A3), record exec, entrepreneur, writer, speaker, father, etc. Joe is a recording artist, writer, speaker, entrepreneur, Pastor, Husband, and father. This is just the tip of the iceberg for these guy. The are true men of God. And that makes them special.

Last year jumped on us full force, and kept pressing. This year, I'm turning the tables like Jesus turning over the tables of the money changers in the temple. My temple. I'm turning over my thoughts right now. I taking control of everything in my life attacking me that is not like God. Join me in taking active responsibility for what the Lord has given us and spoken over our lives.
This the second half of my conversation with Pastor Alphonso Green. It's great to exchange ideas, thoughts, and reason together. Especially during these times. I enjoy the growth in conversation, laughing, sharing life with people. Something that I will always cherish.

Words like thank you, thanks, thanksgiving, thankful, etc. were used only 32 times in the Bible. I would have thought more. I realized that we too should be more thankful throughout our lives, but we aren't either. Being thankful is more that we mean when someone passes the salt or napkin. More than how we feel when chores or some great deed is done for us. This is a state of mind. A declaration that: I will be thankful. No just during the annual Thanksgiving holidays, but daily. It's a choice. Listen as I share my choices of what I'm thankful for.

Ever get a song stuck on in you head? Blaring in our ears. I hate it when it's a song I don't like. Ever ask God why that song? There's a meaning and plan in everything. God's plan is so intricately thought out. Every detail accounted for. Every resource set. We just need to live out... walk out our part. What is that though? What is our part in the body of Christ? Am I the pretty part? Am I the mouth, eyes, brain, arms? OK God, surely I'm not that last part of the colon, right? Every part of our body has role. Big or small. Even the parts that doctors don't know at all. And that's what makes God so great. Join me today as I explore the body.

Romans 8 The Passion Translation
8 So now the case is closed. There remains no accusing voice of condemnation against those who are joined in life-union with Jesus, the Anointed One.[a]2 For the “law” of the Spirit of life flowing through the anointing of Jesus has liberated us[b] from the “law” of sin and death. 3 For God achieved what the law was unable to accomplish, because the law was limited by the weakness of human nature.[c]
Yet God sent us his Son in human form to identify with human weakness. Clothed with humanity, God’s Son gave his body to be the sin-offering so that God could once and for all condemn the guilt and power of sin. 4 So now every righteous requirement of the law can be fulfilled through the Anointed One living his life in us. And we are free to live, not according to our flesh, but by the dynamic power of the Holy Spirit![d]
5 Those who are motivated by the flesh only pursue what benefits themselves. But those who live by the impulses of the Holy Spirit are motivated to pursue spiritual realities.[e]6 For the mind-set of the flesh is death, but the mind-set controlled by the Spirit finds life and peace.
7 In fact, the mind-set focused on the flesh fights God’s plan and refuses to submit to his direction,[f] because it cannot! 8 For no matter how hard they try, God finds no pleasure with those who are controlled by the flesh. 9 But when the Spirit of Christ empowers your life,[g] you are not dominated by the flesh but by the Spirit. And if you are not joined to the Spirit of the Anointed One, you are not of him.[h]
10 Now Christ lives his life in you! And even though your body may be dead because of the effects of sin, his life-giving Spirit imparts life to you because you are fully accepted by God.[i]11 Yes, God raised Jesus to life! And since God’s Spirit of Resurrection lives in you, he will also raise your dying body to life by the same Spirit that breathes life into you!
12 So then, beloved ones, the flesh has no claims on us at all, and we have no further obligation to live in obedience to it. 13 For when you live controlled by the flesh, you are about to die. But if the life of the Spirit puts to death the corrupt ways of the flesh, we then taste his abundant life.
Sons and Daughters Destined for Glory 14 The mature children of God are those[j] who are moved by the impulses of the Holy Spirit. 15 And you did not receive the “spirit of religious duty,”[k] leading you back into the fear of never being good enough.[l] But you have received the “Spirit of full acceptance,”[m] enfolding you into the family of God. And you will never feel orphaned, for as he rises up within us, our spirits join him in saying the words of tender affection, “Beloved Father!”[n]16 For the Holy Spirit makes God’s fatherhood real to us as he whispers into our innermost being, “You are God’s beloved child!”
17 And since we are his true children, we qualify to share all his treasures, for indeed, we are heirs of God himself. And since we are joined to Christ, we also inherit all that he is and all that he has.[o] We will experience being co-glorified with him provided that we accept his sufferings[p] as our own.[q]
A Glorious Destiny 18 I am convinced that any suffering we endure is less than nothing compared to the magnitude of glory[r] that is about to be unveiled within us.[s]19 The entire universe is standing on tiptoe,[t] yearning to see the unveiling of God’s glorious[u] sons and daughters! 20 For against its will the universe itself has had to endure the empty futility[v]resulting from the consequences of human sin. But now, with eager expectation, 21 all creation longs for freedom from its slavery to decay and to experience with us the wonderful freedom coming to God’s children. 22 To this day we are aware of the universal agony and groaning of creation, as if it were in the contractions of labor for childbirth. 23 And it’s not just creation. We who have already experienced the firstfruits of the Spirit[w] also inwardly groan as we passionately long to experience our full status as God’s sons and daughters—including our physical bodies being transformed. 24 For this is the hope of our salvation.
But hope means that we must trust and wait for what is still unseen. For why would we need to hope for something we already have? 25 So because our hope is set on what is yet to be seen, we patiently keep on waiting for its fulfillment.
26 And in a similar way, the Holy Spirit takes hold of us in our human frailty to empower us in our weakness. For example, at times we don’t even know how to pray, or know the best things to ask for. But the Holy Spirit rises up within us to super-intercede[x] on our behalf, pleading to God with emotional sighs[y] too deep for words.
27 God, the searcher of the heart, knows fully our longings,[z] yet he also understands the desires of the Spirit, because the Holy Spirit passionately pleads before God for us, his holy ones, in perfect harmony with God’s plan and our destiny.
28 So we are convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together to fit into God’s perfect plan of bringing good into our lives, for we are his lovers who have been called to fulfill his designed purpose. 29 For he knew all about us before we were born and he destined us[aa]from the beginning to share the likeness of his Son. This means the Son is the oldest among a vast family of brothers and sisters who will become just like him.
30 Having determined our destiny ahead of time, he called us to himself and transferred his perfect righteousness to everyone he called. And those who possess his perfect righteousness he co-glorified with his Son!

Obedience is better thank sacrifice. That's all I can say. This episode is an interview with a powerful man of God, Anthony Daughtry. AD is a Market Manager / Consultant for .100 FM Hip Hop N RNB.We made a plan, but God ordered our steps. We were supposed to spend time sharing about taking responsibility for ourselves, family, etc. But, it resulted in a conversation about taking responsibility about our relationship and responsiveness to the prompting of the Lord. I was feeling some kind a way about airing it. Wondering if people would receive it or understand. This is another Word that needs to be experienced. Thank you Lord for the opportunity. 2 Chronicles 7
Ps. 68
1 Cor. 3:1-4
When Solomon finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple. 2 The priests could not enter the temple of the Lord because the glory of the Lord filled it. 3 When all the Israelites saw the fire coming down and the glory of the Lord above the temple, they knelt on the pavement with their faces to the ground, and they worshiped and gave thanks to the Lord, saying,
“He is good;
his love endures forever.”
4 Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the Lord. 5 And King Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty-two thousand head of cattle and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep and goats. So the king and all the people dedicated the temple of God. 6 The priests took their positions, as did the Levites with the Lord’s musical instruments, which King David had made for praising the Lord and which were used when he gave thanks, saying, “His love endures forever.” Opposite the Levites, the priests blew their trumpets, and all the Israelites were standing.
7 Solomon consecrated the middle part of the courtyard in front of the temple of the Lord, and there he offered burnt offerings and the fat of the fellowship offerings, because the bronze altar he had made could not hold the burnt offerings, the grain offerings and the fat portions.
8 So Solomon observed the festival at that time for seven days, and all Israel with him—a vast assembly, people from Lebo Hamath to the Wadi of Egypt. 9 On the eighth day they held an assembly, for they had celebrated the dedication of the altar for seven days and the festival for seven days more. 10 On the twenty-third day of the seventh month he sent the people to their homes, joyful and glad in heart for the good things the Lord had done for David and Solomon and for his people Israel.
The Lord Appears to Solomon
11 When Solomon had finished the temple of the Lord and the royal palace, and had succeeded in carrying out all he had in mind to do in the temple of the Lord and in his own palace, 12 the Lord appeared to him at night and said:
“I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a temple for sacrifices.
13 “When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, 14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 15 Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. 16 I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.
17 “As for you, if you walk before me faithfully as David your father did, and do all I command, and observe my decrees and laws, 18 I will establish your royal throne, as I covenanted with David your father when I said, ‘You shall never fail to have a successor to rule over Israel.’
19 “But if you[a] turn away and forsake the decrees and commands I have given you[b] and go off to serve other gods and worship them, 20 then I will uproot Israel from my land, which I have given them, and will reject this temple I have consecrated for my Name. I will make it a byword and an object of ridicule among all peoples. 21 This temple will become a heap of rubble. All[c] who pass by will be appalled and say, ‘Why has the Lord done such a thing to this land and to this temple?’ 22 People will answer, ‘Because they have forsaken the Lord, the God of their ancestors, who brought them out of Egypt, and have embraced other gods, worshiping and serving them—that is why he brought all this disaster on them.’”

Ps. 68
1
God! Arise with awesome power,
and every one of your enemies will scatter in fear!
2
Chase them away—all these God-haters.
Blow them away as a puff of smoke.
Melt them away like wax in the fire.
One good look at you and the wicked vanish.
3
But let all your godly lovers be glad!
Yes, let them all rejoice in your presence
and be carried away with gladness.[a]
Let them laugh and be radiant with joy!
4
Let them sing their celebration-songs
for the coming of the cloud rider whose name is Yah![b]
5–6
To the fatherless he is a father.
To the widow he is a champion friend.
To the lonely he makes them part of a family.
To the prisoners[c] he leads into prosperity until they sing for joy.
This is our Holy God in his Holy Place!
But for the rebels there is heartache and despair.[d]
7
O Lord, it was you who marched in front of your people,
leading them through the wasteland.
Pause in his presence
8
The earth shook beneath your feet; the heavens filled with clouds
before the presence of the God of Sinai.
The sacred mountain shook at the sight of the face of Israel’s God.
9
You, O God, sent the reviving rain upon your weary inheritance,
showers of blessing to refresh it.
10
So there your people settled.
And in your kindness you provided the poor with abundance.
11
God Almighty declares the word of the gospel with power,[e]
and the warring women of Zion deliver its message:[f]
12
“The conquering legions have themselves been conquered.
Look at them flee!”
Now Zion’s women are left to gather the spoils.
13
When you sleep between sharpened stakes,[g]
I see you sparkling like silver and glistening like gold,
covered by the beautiful wings of a dove![h]
14
When the Almighty found a king for himself,
it became white as snow in his shade.[i]
15–16
O huge, magnificent mountain,
you are the mighty kingdom of God![j]
All the other peaks, though impressive and imposing,
look with envy on you, Mount Zion!
For Zion is the mountain where God has chosen to live forever.
17
Look! The mighty chariots of God!
Ten thousands upon ten thousands,
more than anyone could ever number.
God is at the front,
leading them all from Mount Sinai into his sanctuary
with the radiance of holiness upon him.[k]
18
He ascends into the heavenly heights,
taking his many captured ones with him,
leading them in triumphal procession.
And gifts were given to men, even the once rebellious,
so that they may dwell with Yah.
19
What a glorious God![l]
He gives us salvation over and over,[m]
then daily he carries our burdens![n]
Pause in his presence
20
Our God is a mighty God who saves us over and over!
For the Lord, Yahweh, rescues us
from the ways of death many times.
21
But he will crush every enemy, shattering their strength.
He will make heads roll
for they refuse to repent of their stubborn, sinful ways.
22
I hear the Lord God saying to all the enemies of his people,
“You’d better come out of your hiding places,
all of you who are doing your best to stay far away from me.[o]
Don’t you know there’s no place to hide?
23
For my people will be the conquerors;
they will soon have you under their feet.
They will crush you until there is nothing left!”[p]
24
O God, my King, your triumphal processions
keep moving onward in holiness;
you’re moving onward toward the Holy Place!
25
Leaders in front,[q] then musicians,
with young maidens in between, striking their tambourines.
26
And they sing, “Let all God’s princely people rejoice!
Let all the congregations bring their blessing to God, saying,
‘The Lord of the fountain! The Lord of the fountain of life!
The Lord of the fountain of Israel!’ ”
27
Astonishingly, it’s the favored youth leading the way:[r]
princes of praise in their royal robes,
and exalted princes are among them,
along with princes who have wrestled with God.
28–29
Display your strength, God, and we’ll be strong![s]
For your miracles have made us who we are.
Lord, do it again,
and parade from your temple your mighty power.
By your command even kings will bring gifts to you.
30
God, rebuke the beast-life that hides within us![t]
Rebuke those who claim to be “strong ones,”[u]
who lurk within the congregation
and abuse the people out of their love for money.
God scatters the people who are spoiling for a fight.
31
Africa will send her noble envoys to you, O God.
They will come running, stretching out their hands in love to you.
32
Let all the nations of the earth sing songs of praise to almighty God!
Go ahead, all you nations—sing your praise to the Lord!
Pause in his presence
33
Make music for the one who strides the ancient skies.
Listen to his thunderous voice of might split open the heavens.
34
Give it up for God, for he alone has all the strength and power!
Proclaim his majesty! For his glory shines down on Israel.
His mighty strength soars in the clouds of glory.
35
God, we are consumed with awe, trembling before you
as your glory streams from your Holy Place.
The God of power shares his mighty strength with Israel
and with all his people.
God, we give our highest praise to you!

1 Cor. 3:1-4 The Passion Translation
Brothers and sisters, when I was with you I found it impossible to speak to you as those who are spiritually mature people, for you are still dominated by the mind-set of the flesh. And because you are immature infants in Christ, 2 I had to nurse you and feed you with “milk,”[a] not with the solid food of more advanced teachings, because you weren’t ready for it. In fact, you are still not ready to be fed solid food, 3 for you are living your lives dominated by the mind-set of the flesh. Ask yourselves: Is there jealousy among you? Do you compare yourselves with others? Do you quarrel like children and end up taking sides? If so, this proves that you are living your lives centered on yourselves, dominated by the mind-set of the flesh, and behaving like unbelievers. 4 For when you divide yourselves up in groups—a “Paul group” and an “Apollos group”[b]—you’re acting like people without the Spirit’s influence.[c]

I don't really know what to say about this episode. God just surprised me. All I knew is that I was so frustrated with leaders and leadership. What happened to family values? What happened to our values? When did we stop demanding more from ourselves, our leaders, our role models? When did we stop being role models? When did we take our hands off the wheel and let someone else have responsibility for us, our children, our future. The only one that has these responsibilities, and so many more, is God. Our currency says "In God we trust", but we've taken Him out of everywhere that really matters. Whose fault is it? Whose going to take responsibility for our actions and decisions? We have to! And it begins at home. Week one of my new series. Let's go Lord. Take the wheel.

Galations 5:13-26 The Passion Translation
13 Beloved ones, God has called us to live a life of freedom in the Holy Spirit. But don’t view this wonderful freedom as an opportunity to set up a base of operations in the natural realm. Freedom means that we become so completely free of self-indulgence that we become servants of one another, expressing love in all we do.
14 For love completes the laws of God. All of the law can be summarized in one grand statement:
“Demonstrate love to your neighbor, even as you care for and love yourself.”[c]

16 As you yield freely and fully to the dynamic life and power of the Holy Spirit, you will abandon the cravings of your self - life.[e] 17 For your self - life craves the things that offend the Holy Spirit and hinder him from living free within you! And the Holy Spirit’s intense cravings hinder your old self - life from dominating you! So then, the two incompatible and conflicting forces within you are your self - life of the flesh and the new creation life of the Spirit.[f]
18 But when you are brought into the full freedom of the Spirit[g] of grace, you will no longer be living under the domination of the law, but soaring above it!
19 The cravings of the self-life are obvious: Sexual immorality, lustful thoughts, pornography, 20 chasing after things instead of God,[h] manipulating others,[i] hatred of those who get in your way, senseless arguments, resentment when others are favored, temper tantrums, angry quarrels, only thinking of yourself, being in love with your own opinions, 21 being envious of the blessings of others, murder, uncontrolled addictions,[j] wild parties, and all other similar behavior.
Haven’t I already warned you that those who use their “freedom” for these things[k] will not inherit the kingdom realm of God!
22–23 But the fruit[l] produced by the Holy Spirit within you is divine love in all its varied expressions:[m]
joy that overflows,[n]
peace that subdues,
patience[o] that endures,
kindness[p] in action,
a life full of virtue,[q]
faith that prevails,
gentleness of heart, and
strength of spirit.[r]
Never set the law above these qualities, for they are meant to be limitless.[s]

Political agendas are the topic of the day right now. Whoever has the top priorities that pull on your heart strings will probably get your vote. Whatever bills, propositions, and laws do the least amount of harm in your opinion will also probably get your vote. As we research, pray. Ask God what is his will for your vote. Let hHim lead you throughout this process. Each party, bill, etc. has something that we can get behind regardless of how small. Man's agenda is not important. God's is. We make our plans, but He orders ours steps.

Romans 13:1-7 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer. John 17:14–16 ESV
14 I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 15 I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of this world
Romans 12:2 ESV
2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Ephesians 4:22–24 ESV

4 Finally, then, brothers, we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God, just as you are doing, that you do so more and more.

Election season is always full of hot topics. Which candidate is better. Which party is better. Who will be savior of our county. Blah. Blah. Blah. Very little time is spent dealing with what really matters. Black, white, red, brown, or blue - they ALL matter. And they ALL matter the same. I'm not political, nor is this show. But, I did spend some time wondering what the word of God says about politics. Join me as I share my time with God having a Political Party.

That's a rap. 5 weeks of study of Psalms 23 and this is our rap up session. The after dinner mint. The pallet cleanser. Dr. Knight, Prof. Page, and I recap our experiences with this study. This time together was just as awesome in rapping up as each previous week. God gave direction to do this study, and de did not disappoint.

Psalm 23 (The Passion Translation)
The Lord is my best friend and my shepherd.[b] I always have more than enough. 2 He offers a resting place for me in his luxurious love.[c] His tracks take me to an oasis of peace, the quiet brook of bliss.[d] 3 That’s where he restores and revives my life.[e] He opens before me pathways to God’s pleasure and leads me along in his footsteps of righteousness[f] so that I can bring honor to his name. 4 Lord, even when your path takes me through the valley of deepest darkness, fear will never conquer me, for you already have! You remain close to me and lead me through it all the way. Your authority is my strength and my peace.[g] The comfort of your love takes away my fear. I’ll never be lonely, for you are near. 5 You become my delicious feast even when my enemies dare to fight. You anoint me with the fragrance of your Holy Spirit;[h] you give me all I can drink of you until my heart overflows. 6 So why would I fear the future? For your goodness and love pursue me all the days of my life. Then afterward, when my life is through, I’ll return to your glorious presence to be forever with you!
Footnotes Psalm 23:1 Most scholars conclude that Ps. 23 was written by David when he was a young shepherd serving his father, Jesse, while he was keeping watch over sheep near Bethlehem. He was most likely sixteen or seventeen years old. The other psalm that he wrote when but a young lad was Ps. 19. Those are two good psalms to memorize and meditate upon if you want to have the heart of the giant killer.
Psalm 23:1 The word most commonly used for “shepherd” is taken from the root word ra‘ah, which is also the Hebrew word for “best friend.” This translation includes both meanings.
Psalm 23:2 The Greek word for “love” is agape, which is a merging of two words and two concepts. Ago means “to lead like a shepherd,” and pao is a verb that means “to rest.” Love is our Shepherd leading us to the place of true rest in his heart.
Psalm 23:2 The Hebrew word menuhâ means “the waters of a resting place.” See Isa. 11:10.
Psalm 23:3 Or “He causes my life [or soul, Heb. nephesh] to return.” So often life drains out of us through our many activities, but David found that God restores our well-being by pursuing what pleases God and resting in him.
Psalm 23:3 Or “circular paths of righteousness.” It is a common trait for sheep on the hillsides of Israel to circle their way up higher. They eventually form a path that keeps leading them higher. This is what David is referring to here. Each step we take following our Shepherd will lead us higher, even though it may seem we are going in circles.
Psalm 23:4 Or “Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
Psalm 23:5 The word oil becomes a symbol of the Holy Spirit.
John 5:5-8 (The Passion Translation)
5 Now there was a man who had been disabled for thirty-eight years lying among the multitude of the sick.[a]6 When Jesus saw him lying there, he knew that the man had been crippled for a long time.[b] So Jesus said to him, “Do you truly long to be healed?”[c]
7 The sick man answered him, “Sir,[d] there’s no way I can get healed, for I have no one who will lower me into the water when the angel comes. As soon as I try to crawl to the edge of the pool, someone else jumps in ahead of me.”
8 Then Jesus said to him, “Stand up! Pick up your sleeping mat and you will walk!”

Footnotes 1. John 5:5 Under the shelter of religion, there are the sick and lame and blind who can’t be healed unless they do the work and step into the pool. They are helpless and hopeless so near the Sheep Gate. But Jesus has none of the law’s requirements to put upon us for our healing, only to believe in one who is greater than angels. The man had been sick for thirty-eight years, the exact length of time Israel had wandered in the wilderness. See Deut. 2:14. 2. John 5:6 Jesus exercised a supernatural knowledge of this man’s situation. 3. John 5:6 Or “Are you convinced that you are already made whole?” The Greek phrase genesthai is actually not a future tense (“want to be healed”) but an aorist middle infinitive that indicates something already accomplished. Jesus is asking the crippled man if he is ready to abandon how he sees himself and now receive the faith for his healing. 4. John 5:7 The Greek word kurios means “lord” or “sir.”

Week 5. What can I tell you? The Lord again has left us speechless. Dr. Knight, Mary Page, and I are were again left in awe of God. I am supposed to leave a brief highlight. Where do I begin. Part of me just want to leave you wondering. Another part want to tell it all here. What I can say is that we were blessed by our fellowship. We laughed and the meaty things of God. We talked about meals that the Lord serves us (hurt, pain, loss). We talked about necessary parts of body (Body of Christ). So many want to be the face, brain, or even the mouth. Who wants to be the foot, elbow, or the like? But, all parts perform a function vital to the health and wellbeing of the body. Join us for a unforgettable time discussing the Psalm 23 and the tables that Lord places before us.

3 Brothers and sisters, when I was with you I found it impossible to speak to you as those who are spiritually mature people, for you are still dominated by the mind-set of the flesh. And because you are immature infants in Christ, 2 I had to nurse you and feed you with “milk,”[a]not with the solid food of more advanced teachings, because you weren’t ready for it. In fact, you are still not ready to be fed solid food,

Footnotes 1. 1 Corinthians 3:2 This “milk” would include the basic teachings of our faith. Even so, every newborn needs milk to survive and be sustained. See 1 Peter 2:2. Week 4. I'm really not sure what to say about God. He took us through the courses served on the tables before us across our lives. My God. To see him use every opportunity to get out attention. Experiences at every level in our life to draw us into a closer relationship with Him. Each time at the right pace for us to be able to digest. Every meal, just the right balance for our what we needed. They may not have been dishes that we wanted, but they were what we needed. Join us in the episode as we share what the meals have been like for us at the King's table.

Week 3, and it's getting good! My guests, Mary L. Page and Dr Knight, and I share how the Lord speaks to us and what we do when we get tired of God, and the things of God. Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer.
2 From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. 3 For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe.
4 I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.[b] 5 For you, God, have heard my vows; you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.
6 Increase the days of the king’s life, his years for many generations. 7 May he be enthroned in God’s presence forever; appoint your love and faithfulness to protect him.
8 Then I will ever sing in praise of your name and fulfill my vows day after day.

When I read the 23rd Psalm, I get excited. It's the anthem. The victory chant. The go to scripture when times get tough. Specifically Psalms 23:5 “Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.” The Lord showed me that I don't often actually come to the table, pull up a chair, sit, eat, and finish my meal. You know, like people did back in the day. When dinner was quality time well spent and thought out. Join me and my special guests, Mary L. Page and Dr. Michaelle Knight, as we do just that. When I hear from God about some great new thing he has for me or wants for to do, I wanna just get excited and shout right then. I’m so taken and emotional about the opportunity the I miss what He said. So when things the get rough on that journey I was shouting about, I have to go back and ask God “What did You say?” over and over again. We need to curb our enthusiasm just a bit and get His confirmation. This will way we can be sure of the message from God as we are fulfilling the mission of God. As we continue to shelter in, we are starting to run out patience. Not having our favorite outlet may be wearing on us. Our favorite show or sport may not be on right now, unless you like UFC. Whichever the case, the sounds of quiet can be deafening to some of us. What we've built our lives upon has been stripped away. Exposed now is our truths. During this time, I've been looking at my truths and pillars that I have built myself upon. I have found some shoddy workmanship. It's time for some renovations. What a better time than now. About Dr. Knight: https://www.knightconsultingsd.com Dr. Knight’s research on communication and building trusting relationships began early 2000 and presently continues. Her studies were initiated through uncovering commonalities in healthy relationships that fostered solid communication and trust, versus those based on other factors such as fear, selfishness, or unhealthy compromise. After being introduced to the philosophy of Daniel Goleman’s Emotional Intelligence in 2009, her knowledge and appreciation for her interests in communication blossomed. Topics such as empathy, self-esteem and team building became part of her research broadening her spectrum from familial perspectives to include corporate settings and related business relationships.
To date she has created a leadership guide which includes modules that teach leaders practical and applicable communication skills and assessments to gauge their progress.
In 2016, Dr. Knight published her dissertation research titled, Generational Learning Style Preferences Based on Computer-Based Healthcare Training. This very timely research established a new platform for her continued success as a researcher of generational perspectives. As well, her accomplishment inspired newfound opportunities to explore unprecedented research initiatives, form fresh professional partnerships, and uncover entrepreneurial endeavors.
As the CEO & Founder of Knight Consulting, San Diego, a leadership & professional development agency, a life-coach & executive mentor, wife, mother, speaker, world-traveler and community leader, many ask the question, how she does it all?
Covid-19 has changed so much for so many. At the end of this ear, the whole world is gonna need a hug. (Or counseling). Many are mourning the loss of our social freedoms. Thoughts of what we don’t have, can’t do, can’t find, or who we can’t see has left many of with symptoms of PTSD. Frustration, depression, anger, fear, etc. is simmering just below the surface. We need to identify what feelings are just below the surface and deal with them before we breakdown, and they break through. In this episode I share what I discovered lurking, just below the surface.

During times of uncertainty, give yourself a break. Take some time for healthy self care. Thinking, or trying not to think about an issue, can be emotionally, mentally, and physically draining. Give a pass to yourself and others. Be more patient. Get more rest in order for your body, mind, and spirit to refresh. Burnout, or breakdown now could be catastrophic. Also make a point to drink more water. Above all, be quick to listen, slow to speak, and let grace be your guide.

Words are filtered through the lens of our past hurts, present healing, perspective on an issue, and relationship with the person said or wrote them. We may not like all of the feedback we get. We don’t even have to like or agree with it. But, it doesn’t mean that it wasn’t true from the perspective of the person who gave it to us. I had blessed opportunity to speak a Centerpoint Church's Men's Ministry Breakfast. The topic was DREAM BIG. I asked the Lord to give me an acronym for it. After He gave it to me, he said "Now you can dream big, because I'm God". Dig you catch that?! B.I.G: Because I'm God!!!

The moment my son, Caeden, told me that Kobe Bryant was killed in a helicopter crash, I was shocked. I asked God to let it not be true. As more and more facts and news kept coming... I was speechless. 9 people lost their lives. 3 were children. What good can you find in this pain?! I wrestled and asked God to show me. As a father, I saw the loss. God, my father, saw the blessings of their lives... our lives. He saw the blessing in the broad reminder that his plan is perfect our lives have meaning. God wants us to live life to the fullest and not allow our failures and flaws to limit us. We need to strive to become who He wants for us relentlessly. We need to live our lives like Kobe did. With that Mamba Mentality. Relentless... Tirelessly... Completely...
How do we develop a Mamba mentality:

Warning flags appear in our lives almost everyday. On the road, flags are meant to keep us away from hazardous driving conditions. In sports, they are indicators that someone broke the rules. When God sends them in our lives about people, they’re meant to make us think. Instinctively, so many of us think they are bad signs about other people, but sometimes it’s us. Join me today as I have Mary Louise Page in studio as my very special guest. We will laugh, talk, and share transparently about what we do with our flags in relationships with people, and ourselves. The pomp and circumstance of Thanksgiving wore me out. I’m over giving thanks. And that’s exactly what I did. Too much. I over did it. I tried to do it my way and make it all about me. Everything in life has value. Especially us. So many down play ourselves. Some do it to remain grounded and not conceited. Others self-deprecate. No matter the reason, it’s not from God. He wants us to walk in his fullness. Confident in knowing that He has total control of every outcome in our lives. To know this, we need to focus on the Word of God. Hide it in our hearts. Read it, and encourage ourselves. This is how I keep Hope in my life. In this episode I share my battles with fear, and my tools to overcome it.

When we want God to move on our behalf, or we have that feeling deep in our gut that God is going to answer our prayers and do some great things for us, we are left to wait until it all happens. In the waiting, we can find ourselves frustrated, tired, and wondering where, when, and even if God will do it. I can sometimes be a long wait between to our ask and “Won’t He do it!” Whether it’s a day or a lifetime, we have to wait expecting good things from our good, good Father.

I find that far too often, we get excited that we’ve heard from God initially, but as time goes on, it gets hard. We get a little unsure. Not having heard God tell us for the bizillionth time that we are doing the right thing, we get scared, question what we heard, and want to quit. If God told us to start, he’ll tell us to stop. We need to continue doing the last thing He told us to do until further notice. Like that movie, “Die Another Day”, Tom Cruise’s character died over, and over, and over again until he got it right. The same is true for us. Every moment of everyday we need to die to self. Over and over and over again until we get the prize.

What keeps us from moving forward? What keeps us from moving forward in our lives? Hurt, pain, someone, something? I should have added plural to each of those, but that’s normal over the course of our lives. We’re gonna get hurt. We’re gonna have to pick up the shattered pieces of our broken lives. We’re better for it. And so are those around us.

Week 3. We will explore how we get caught in our thoughts. The swirl of confusion can dictate the trajectory of our life. We are what we think. We need to keep our minds focused on God.

As fathers, we have an important role. There are many components to that role: Protector, Teacher, role model, janitor, handyman, counselor, playmate, and the list goes on. Some of the role we like, and some we hate. The ones that we like, we excel at and really do well. The others, well… you know how that goes. Over the next several weeks, I’m going to explore some valuable tools to help improve your teachable moments in your life. This will be an excellent series to listen with your children, and definitely with other men.

We should really watch how we say things to each other. The "How" hurts more than the "What". We do more damage to people with how we say things than what we actually say. Everyone has an option about what you’re doing or should be. What I’m doing, or should be. Truth is, we need to be seeking God about what we're supposed to be doing so that 2 Cor. 5:7 can be fulfilled ("for we live by faith, not by what we see with our eyes." TPT).
