In this episode, I get to interview my incredible friend, Jessie Shedden. Jessie has such a fascinating story, from escaping a cult to doing a nude photo shoot to becoming a model, and finally learning to love herself exactly as she is. I spent the majority of my life thinking there was something WRONG with me -- why do all these things like shopping, working at certain jobs, and just socializing feel so hard for me when other people do them so easily (and even seem to enjoy them)?
Understanding my introverted qualities and learning to honor and respect myself rather than criticize myself has been SUCH a boost for my self esteem.
Hear what it means to be an introvert, and how knowing that about yourself can help with your self esteem and body image.

Have you ever noticed how you're always pushing yourself to do hard things or forcing yourself to continue things you HATE? We have a cultural construct that reminds us again and again that GAIN requires PAIN.
I don't buy it, and in this episode, I'm talking about how the intentions behind whatever you're doing is the most important part. Doing things out of love and respect for yourself is MUCH different than doing them because you are punishing yourself or think you need to change.

I know we're creating freedom with food here, but that doesn't necessarily mean eating absolutely anything that strikes your fancy. If you need to tweak your diet for health reasons, or just so you can feel your best every day, Ricki Heller has some tips on how to do it so you don't feel like you're missing out on anything.
I know it's hard to imagine that you could ever be ok with your body right now. We've been conditioned our whole lives to hate ourselves and try to change. HOW can it be OK to look like THIS?
In this episode, I remind you WHY diets don't work, and give you several super straightforward tips on what to do right now in order to feel better about your body.
In this episode, I talk about my experience of having COVID, from the surprising emotional roller coaster to the effect of not having taste for a few days and what that did to my relationship with food.

Whether you do it all the time and get stressed out about it or don't do it at all and feel guilty about it, exercise is something that we've created so much drama around in diet culture. This episode has some great tips for finding a way -- if you CHOOSE -- to incorporate exercise into your life in a way that works for your body, your schedule, and your preferences.
In this episode, I'm talking about why my daughter stealing my sweatshirt made me really mad, and how I managed it so I didn't barge into her room and scream at her at 6:00 in the morning. Letting yourself feel the way you really feel, labeling it, describing it, and talking yourself through it is the key to avoiding lashing out at others or coping in ways that aren't necessarily productive.
The other day, I watched the first video I ever made and it reminded me of how fearful and miserable I used to be. I knew all the things about Intuitive Eating, but I didn't FEEL any differently inside. In this episode, I talk about what made the real transformation and why I'm really doing this work.
This episode explain why it's so important to really tease apart your beliefs about your body and make sure they're still relevant for your life. I talk about a client who was maintaining a really old, untrue, irrelevant belief from her past and it was really holding her back. Once we identified it and reframed it, she was able to let it go.
I'll also explain why it's so important to just be your most authentic self and stop trying to appeal to everyone. There's a lid for every pot! The more YOU you are, the more easily you will attract people who really resonate with you and love you for YOU.
There's so much to complain about these days, but I really think it makes things worse. Not only does it affect your mood and energy, but our collective pessimism really invites more problems. Learn how you can shift your attention to stop inviting negative energy into your life.
In this episode, I'm telling a story about this dude in my neighborhood who took it upon himself to confront me about my "obvious" desire to lose weight and recommend some crazy diet. Hopefully, you can use this experience to gain some tips about how to deal with this kind of stuff in your own life.
My grandmother's recipe book holds history and secrets about how to enjoy food and nourish yourself thoroughly.
Today, I’m talking about confirmation bias and how it keeps us trapped with bad body image.
Today, I’m talking about the way we hold onto ideas that aren’t true and don’t serve us! I have a great story about my husband to illustrate the point.
Are your thighs rubbing together, or you feet hurt after a long walk? And I bet you think you need to lose weight in order to fix it, right? Listen to this episode and learn why the desire to lose weight to relieve physical pain is not a sustainable solution.

In this episode, I'll tell the story of my first diet and how it set me up for a lifetime of shame and failure until I learned to love myself exactly as I am.
What would the world be like without diets? What would we all be capable of if we could just love ourselves in the bodies we have right now?
Ozzy's irrational fears can show us all how our blocks and limitations are just stories we hold onto. You don't have to just keep telling the stories, like "I'm too fat to get that job," or "I could never go to my high school reunion looking like this." You have tool to change the story and dismantle the block.
When we met, Jen hadn't even heard of Intuitive Eating. She didn't know there was an alternative to dieting and torturing herself with exercise, but she DID know that she couldn't do it anymore. She was at that perfect pivot point where she was READY to do things differently, but just didn't know how. During our work together, she learned to stopped obsessing about food and find acceptance with her current body. Listen to Jen's story and hear how much happier and more peaceful she is in her life now.
