Radio Brockley
Radio Brockley is London’s longest running hospital radio station, broadcasting to the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore.Our mission is to provide a friendly face to patients at the RNOH, with a round-the-clock radio service dedicated to inpatients, in addition to regular visits to the wards.Our programmes include music from across the decades and genres, as well as news and information on what is going on in and around the hospital, via our “Brockley News” shows.
Based at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore, the main goals of the SCT charity are to improve the lives and increase survival of children and young adults who are afflicted with bone cancer by both initiating and funding scientific research, education and individual patient support.The charity's Head of Fundraising, Sarah Wright speaks to Alan Joyce about how the last 12 months have affected the charity, and what they are looking forward to in 2021.
Keith Reeve hosts a special feature on The Stanmore Steppers, which is an excellent initiative by Laura Mitham, one of the RNOH Therapy Technicians. We also hear from patients benefiting from the idea, the volunteers who support it and also from RNOH Volunteering and Involvement Lead Diane Young.

In this first edition we go back to the very first shows in 2010, featuring an interview with the hospital Chaplain, an audio tour of the Aspire National Training Centre, and our first interview with the then CEO Rob Hurd, when plans for a new hospital were still in the early stages.

Find out the winners of the annual Staff Achievement Awards for the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore. The guest host for the night was comedian Ian Stone, who chatted to us before the ceremony. Plus we hear from some of the winners, as well as senior staff from the hospital.

Ron Laver first joined Radio Brockley at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital way back in 1974, and has gone on to become the station's second longest serving member. In this edition, we listen back to highlights of his presentation, including the Hospital Broadcasting Association President, June Snowden, some of Ron's family, and Radio Brockley members past and present. We hear from Kate Harrington-Stillwell from the RNOH Fraud Awareness team, who talks about how the hospital protects itself from fraud. We also hear from ex-patient Naomi Hyamson, who is returning to singing having been paralysed from the neck down.

Prince Andrew was visiting in his capacity as the hospital’s patron and Princess Eugenie is Patron of the RNOH charity.
