It is impossible to go through this life and not produce fruit. What kind of fruit is being produced? Fruit of the flesh or fruit of the Spirit?

The Gospel, the "Good News." It is the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. But what does that mean for mankind? It means that we no longer need to fear.
Could it be that an awakening to the glory of Christ in our lives is necessary to bring about the next great awakening in our world?
"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace, on whom his favor rests." Peace at Christmas. Peace because of Christmas.
Christmas gifts, that's what Christmas is all about, right? In an incredible way - YES!
Christmas brings many traditions including the giving and receiving of gifts. Yet, we often overlook the greatest gift. The gift of the person of Jesus-specifically the gift of GRACE that he brought on the first Christmas, and the gift that echoes everyday since.
An empty promise is nothing more than words, but a realized promise is life changing, even world changing. God's promise when sin entered the world was made good in the incarnation of Jesus. In Him is a promise not only of salvation, but a full, satisfying, and abundant life.
Christmas generates all kinds of memories: sugar plums, wilting evergreen trees, nicely decorated packages...oh...and the story about a baby who was born and laid in a manger. But, what about remembering that He came? It is true! He really CAME!

So now, where is our heart? Jesus has confronted the true nature in our hearts. Will we repent of our depravity, or continue to leave him and try to do it on our own?
Acts 1:8 is a verse we know well in the Alliance, and we often (rightly) read this verse and latch onto the whereabouts of the witness. But the "where" needs a "how" and the "how" needs a "Who." That "Who" is the Source - the Holy Spirit.
As we approach the conclusion of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus warns us that danger is found in the pursuit of perfection. How we are to respond to His words summarizes the heart of His sermon.
Where our treasure is, there our heart belongs also - and thus, so does our anxiety! Jesus is about to confront each of these issues in Matthew 6:19-34.
Some roles are easy to keep, others are easy to break. Jesus has come and revealed my brokenness. He's revealed that I am a rule breaker, in both deed and heart.
As we enter Matthew 5-7 Jesus seems to lay out impossible expectations. Yet, He says we can do it, but not without Him, not without His power. Let's embrace the incredible promises and power of Jesus Christ as we engage in this series together!
It has finally come...the end. We finish the book of Revelation which points to the powerful picture of newness. There is nothing quite like new. In our world, new things break and get old. In this new Kingdom Come, with our Coming King, everything will be made new...and STAY NEW

Labor Day is to celebrate the work that has been done by workers in our nation. From the beginning of time God has called mankind to work, called to tend to the earth, to care for it, to cultivate it, to subdue it, and harvest it. Yet, there is greater work that remains.
