The Bible makes it abundantly clear that God's plan is for Christians to be victorious in every area of their life by understanding and applying the finished work of Jesus Christ. But too often we don't see that victory come to pass. This series will demonstrate the victory that Christ has already paid for, what we have access to because of His finished work, and how we are then intended to live as a response to this.
Scriptures
- Revelation 12:11 (NKJV) - And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
- Matthew 22:1-11 (NLT) - Jesus also told them other parables. He said, 2 “The Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by the story of a king who prepared a great wedding feast for his son. 3 When the banquet was ready, he sent his servants to notify those who were invited. But they all refused to come! 4 “So he sent other servants to tell them, ‘The feast has been prepared. The bulls and fattened cattle have been killed, and everything is ready. Come to the banquet!’ 5 But the guests he had invited ignored them and went their own way, one to his farm, another to his business. 6 Others seized his messengers and insulted them and killed them.
7 “The king was furious, and he sent out his army to destroy the murderers and burn their town. 8 And he said to his servants, ‘The wedding feast is ready, and the guests I invited aren’t worthy of the honor. 9 Now go out to the street corners and invite everyone you see.’ 10 So the servants brought in everyone they could find, good and bad alike, and the banquet hall was filled with guests. 11 “But when the king came in to meet the guests, he noticed a man who wasn’t wearing the proper clothes for a wedding.
- Luke 14:15-24 (NLT) - Hearing this, a man sitting at the table with Jesus exclaimed, “What a blessing it will be to attend a banquet in the Kingdom of God!” 16 Jesus replied with this story: “A man prepared a great feast and sent out many invitations. 17 When the banquet was ready, he sent his servant to tell the guests, ‘Come, the banquet is ready.’ 18 But they all began making excuses. One said, ‘I have just bought a field and must inspect it. Please excuse me.’ 19 Another said, ‘I have just bought five pairs of oxen, and I want to try them out. Please excuse me.’ 20 Another said, ‘I just got married, so I can’t come.’
21 “The servant returned and told his master what they had said. His master was furious and said, ‘Go quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and invite the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.’ 22 After the servant had done this, he reported, ‘There is still room for more.’ 23 So his master said, ‘Go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come, so that the house will be full. 24 For none of those I first invited will get even the smallest taste of my banquet.’”

- Romans 10:9-10 (NLT) - If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.

Scriptures
- John 20:19-20 (NLT) - That Sunday evening the disciples were meeting behind locked doors because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders. Suddenly, Jesus was standing there among them! “Peace be with you,” he said. 20 As he spoke, he showed them the wounds in his hands and his side. They were filled with joy when they saw the Lord!
- John 14:27 (NIV) -Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
- Philippians 4:6-7 (NLT) -Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Scriptures (All NKJV)
- Revelation 4:1-11 - After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.” 2 Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne. 3 And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald. 4 Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white robes; and they had crowns of gold on their heads. 5 And from the throne proceeded lightnings, thunderings, and voices. Seven lamps of fire were burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. 6 Before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal. And in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes in front and in back.
7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second living creature like a calf, the third living creature had a face like a man, and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle. 8 The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying: “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!” 9 Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying 11 “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.”
- Revelation 5:1-5 - And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals. 2 Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?” 3 And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it. 4 So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it. 5 But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.”
- 1 Corinthians 1:25-29 - Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. 27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty 28 and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are 29 that no flesh should glory in His presence.
- Revelation 5:8-14 - Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation 10 And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.” 11 Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands
12 saying with a loud voice: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain To receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!” 13 And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: “Blessing and honor and glory and power Be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!” 14 Then the four living creatures said, “Amen!” And the twenty-four elders fell down and worshiped Him who lives forever and ever.

Faith-Filled Prayer of Personal Protection
Deeply rooted in Scripture
Father, Your word says in Ephesians 2:19 (CJB) “So then, you are no longer foreigners and strangers. On the contrary, you are fellow-citizens with God’s people and members of God’s family.” I’m thankful to know that, as a Christian, I am legitimately part of your family, and have a standing invitation according to Hebrews 4:16 (NLT) - “So let us come boldly [confidently, unashamedly] to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive His mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.*”*
Your word also says that the reason I can “boldly” come to God, no matter how I feel or what I’m facing today, is that Jesus has already qualified me to come to you according to II Corinthians 5:21 (NLT) which says, “For He (that’s You, Father) made Him who knew no sin (that’s Jesus) to be sin for us (that’s me, and anyone else who is born again), that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”**
Father, Your word says in Ephesians 1:3 (NLT) - “All praise [belongs] to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has [already] blessed us [His children] with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.” Those blessings are spelled out to me through the promises that You made in Your word, and according to I Corinthians 1:20 (NLT) - “all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory.”**
Father, based on those scriptures that I have already mentioned, I am coming to you today to receive protection from all that is happening in the world around me, from the Coronavirus, to any/all of the effects that can results from it’s impact.
Your word says in Philippians 4:6 (ESV) - “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Because of this, I refuse to be anxious or worried about anything. Fear and anxiety may come, but I will not let it settle in. Instead, I will bring everything to you in prayer, and make sure that all of my requests are covered with thanksgiving because I believe that You love me, and will keep Your promises to me.
Your word also says in 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV), “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” So I thank You Lord that I do not, and will not, have a spirit of fear, but of power (as in the access to your promises and provision, as well as the God-given” right to access them) and of love (as in, because I have chosen to place my confidence in You, I will maintain a warm, self-less attitude and approach as I walk through this time) and of a sound mind (as in, because my trust is in the Lord, I have the ability to make wise and balanced decisions).
Father, Your word also says in Isaiah 41:10 (GNB) - “Do not be afraid— I am with you! I am your God—let nothing terrify you! I will make you strong and help you; I will protect you and save you.” So in the name of Jesus, I declare that You are not just God, but you are my God! You will make me strong, and You will help me. And regardless what happens, You will protect me and save me.
And Your word says in Psalm 46:1–2 (NKJV) - “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea.” Therefore I thank You that You are my refuge and my strength. You are right here next to me, as a very present help in trouble. Even if the whole earth is comes apart at the seams, and is completely removed, and even if every mountain is thrown into the ocean, I refuse to fear because You are right here with me.
Your word also says in Isaiah 54:17 (NKJV) - “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.” Father, based on this scripture, I declare in the name of Jesus that nothing (and You mean “nothing”) that tries to hurt me in any way will succeed, and every negative word that is spoken in disagreement with Your promises to me, including those that are spoken to judge or disqualify me - I reject those words, and cast them aside. Such words will not come to pass. This divine protection is part of my inheritance as a servant of the Lord, and my righteousness (my worthiness to experience this protection) comes from You, the final authority, because of what Jesus has done.
Your word also says in Luke 10:19 (NKJV), “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” So I thank You Lord that nothing (not one single thing) shall in any way, shape, or form hurt me because You have given me the authority to use the name of Jesus to trample on any/every kind of evil spirit that would try to manipulate my thoughts or emotions away from Your word, and over any/all other power that the enemy might try and use.
And Your word says in Isaiah 53:5 (NKJV), “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.” So I thank You Lord that because Jesus was wounded to pay for my wrongdoings, bruised to pay for my unhealthy and immoral vices, and endured severe punishment to purchase my peace - I am loved and accepted by You. And, because Jesus was willingly and brutally scourged to provide me with health and healing, I confidently declare that “by His stripes I am healed.”
Father, when I consider all that I’ve already covered, Your word directs my response in Psalm 103:2–3 (NKJV) to - “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases.” Therefore, I choose to bless You from the depths of my soul, and commit to You that I will not forget all Your benefits, particularly those that I need right now - Confidence that You really have forgiven all of my iniquities, and that You have, and will continue to heal all of my diseases.
And now, Father, based on the faith and confidence that I am placing in Your word, I consider myself an heir of the blessing of Abraham because of all that Jesus Christ, my Savior, provided, and I personalize every promise in the following chapter, receiving it as mine by faith, praying it over myself and those that I love.
According to PSALM 91 (NKJV modified) I declare that, 1 I dwell in the secret place of the Most High and abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.” 3 Surely He shall deliver me from [secret traps] and from [destructive diseases]. 4 He shall cover me with His feathers and under His wings I shall take refuge. His truth shall be my shield and [armor]. 5 I shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the [attack that happens] by day, 6 nor of the [disease that creeps around] in darkness, nor of the destruction that [wreaks havoc] at noon. 7 A thousand may fall at my side, and ten thousand at my right hand; but it shall not come near me. 8 Only with my eyes shall I look and see the reward of the wicked. 9 Because I have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, my dwelling place, 10 no evil shall befall me, nor shall any plague come near my dwelling; 11 for He shall give His angels charge over me to keep me in all my ways. 12 In their hands they [will steady me to keep me from stumbling against the rocks on the trail]. 13 [I will even walk unharmed among the fiercest powers of darkness, trampling every one of them beneath my feet!] 14 Because I have set my love upon the Lord, therefore He will deliver me. He will set me on high because I have known His name. 15 I shall call upon Him and He will answer me. He will be with me in trouble. He will deliver me and honor me. 16 With long life He will satisfy me and show me His salvation.

Message Points
Confessing (concerning sin) - (gk) Homologeo - The verbal admission and honest abandonment of anything and everything false, unworthy or unclean according to God's righteous judgment
Confession of sin to God is our initial response into salvation (Rom. 10:9-10)
Confession of sin to God is our ongoing humility to cultivate a rich relationship with God (1 Jn. 1:8-10)
Excerpt from Following Jesus: It is important that we understand that sin comes out of the life [through] a repentant heart, by way of the mouth. Confessing sin isn’t so much about saying ‘I’m sorry’ as saying ‘I did it.’ (pg. 82)
Confession of sin to others is our righteous behavior, needed to maintain a right heart in our relationships with others (Matt. 5:23-24; James 5:16)
Excerpt from Following Jesus: We are called to be a people who continuously confess sin to God, and to others we have, in a way, violated or wronged. (pg. 82)
Forgiving - (gk) aphiemi - to set free; to release; to liberate completely.
3 Main Obstacles to Answered Prayer
1. Unbelief (not agreeing with and confessing God's Word)
2. Unconfessed sin toward God and others
3. Unforgiveness with others
Excerpt from Following Jesus: Being honest and humble is an age of dishonesty and pride enables us to be counter culture Christians who live by the kingdom values of grace and truth. (pg. 87)
Excerpt from Following Jesus: As followers of Jesus, we must, “resist the human tendency to repay evil for evil, and [instead] revel the Lord’s heart of overcoming evil with good.” (pg. 87)

Scriptures (All NKJV)
- Acts 16:23-34 - And when they had laid many stripes on them, they threw them into prison, commanding the jailer to keep them securely. 24 Having received such a charge, he put them into the inner prison and fastened their feet in the stocks. 25 But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed. 27 And the keeper of the prison, awaking from sleep and seeing the prison doors open, supposing the prisoners had fled, drew his sword and was about to kill himself. 28 But Paul called with a loud voice, saying, “Do yourself no harm, for we are all here.”
29 Then he called for a light, ran in, and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31 So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” 32 Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. 33 And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes. And immediately he and all his family were baptized. 34 Now when he had brought them into his house, he set food before them; and he rejoiced, having believed in God with all his household.
- Proverbs 18:20-21 - A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth; From the produce of his lips he shall be filled. 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue,And those who love it will eat its fruit.
- II Corinthians 10:3-5 - For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
- Ephesians 6:12 - For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
- Philippians 4:6 - Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.
- Psalms 34:1 - I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

- II Chronicles 20:20-22 - So they rose early in the morning and went out into the Wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.” 21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the Lord, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying:“Praise the Lord,For His mercy endures forever.” 22 Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated.
- Revelation 3:8 - “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.
- Colossians 4:3 - meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains,
- Exodus 14:13-14 - And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. 14 The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”

As followers of Jesus we have been commanded to study and apply God's Word so that we know who God is and what God does, so that God can work in and through our lives.
“God designed the human mind for studying and applying discovered truth. The Word of God reveals that a primary reason for this design is so that we can investigate, meditate, and apply God’s truth. Jesus perfectly exemplified this diligent study and application of the Word of God, and commanded His followers to do the same.” (By Pastor Gil Dirmann)
BIG QUESTION:
What happens when you feel like you're doing this, but you're not seeing the progress you think you should be seeing?
Scriptures (All NKJV)
- 2 Timothy 2:15 - Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
- Matthew 13:18-23 - “Therefore hear the parable of the sower: 19 When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside. 20 But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; 21 yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles.
22 Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. 23 But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”
Message Points (4 Keys to Progress)
1. Press the Word down through study
2. Keep the Word through a commitment to application
3. Guard the Word through meditation
4. Have patience through the progress

Sub Title: I'm Not Stuck And Neither Are You
Scriptures (All NKJV)
- Romans 6:11-14 - Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. 13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
- Luke 4:18-19 - “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,Because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor;He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,To proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind,To set at liberty those who are oppressed; 19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.
- John 8:36 - Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
- 2 Corinthians 3:17 - Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
- 2 Corinthians 5:20-21 - Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
- John 14:12 - “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.
- James 4:7 - Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
- Ephesians 6:10-13 - Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

- 1 John 4:9-10 - In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
- John 14:21-24 - He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” 22 Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, “Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?” 23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. 24 He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.
- Luke 6:46-49 - “But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say? 47 Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: 48 He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock. 49 But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great.”
- John 15:13 - Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.
- Hebrews 5:8 - though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered.
