The recent 2024 Global Summit, which had the theme "BORN TO SERVE," focused on SHAPING A NEW GENERATION OF SERVANT LEADERS.

Doug shares inspiring stories from relief efforts in Appalachian communities hit by hurricanes. He illustrates how, when people come together, the impact multiplies like a "net" that catches far more than any one person could. The theme for the 2024 National Day of Prayer was “Lift Up The Word and Light Up The World”. Doug shared this message at New Life Church Houston taken from a message on “Being A Living Lampstand." This message is focused on the importance of being grounded in God's word and living according to biblical principles. Doug emphasizes the need to lift up the word of God and let it guide our lives, so that we can be a light to the world. He shares personal stories and scriptural references to encourage the audience to develop a deep relationship with God through studying the Bible and allowing the Holy Spirit to work in their lives. The main themes are repentance, revival, and the power of God's word to transform individuals and communities.

Summary: Choices define our destiny! Throughout our lives, we are confronted with making choices that influence our lives and future. As we are faced with decisions, it is so important to keeping our vision of hope and destination, with expectation and anticipation. There are times that our immediate circumstances are challenging and difficult, yet we have a covenant promise from God. Our greatest breakthroughs and victories often come when we choose to stay focused and committed even when we may not yet see it.
Ruth chose her covenant commitment with no foreseeable promise of a better life, while her sister in law, Orpah, chose what was most familiar and comfortable. Orpah chose to go back to the familiarity of her people in Moab, while Ruth’s choice to continue with Naomi, brought her into an unexpected destiny. Orpah went into obscurity. Ruth entered into greatness.
Which will you choose?
Doug recently shared on keeping our moral compass in the midst of all the noise polutition and distractions.. He points to the the scriptures that keep you focused on rectitude and righteousness. Listen to this timely, and inspiring message that remind us of the importance to be tethered to God and His word, to withstand the storms of the day.
Windsurfing and speedboating in life may be fun and exciting, but with major storms we’d better be rooted and grounded. We need stability in relationship to God and His Church. We need more than excitement and hype, we need His Word, His Wisdom, His Presence, His Divine Guidance and Direction.
God wants His church to prepare for the days ahead and be an ark of refuge in times of trouble. By preparing and getting in alignment to God’s kingdom principles, both individually and corporately, we can be ready to be a help to others.
There is such need in the world around us today. How can we settle into complacency? How can we be so hardened of heart as to sit back on the beach of comfort, ease, and apathy while so many are still shipwrecked in the sea of despair?
One man who heeded God’s divine warning and prepared was Noah. Hebrews 11:7 tells us that “By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear [and] prepared an ark for the saving of his household.” Noah lived in dark days full of corruption and immorality. But he heeded God’s warning that judgment was coming and prepared accordingly. As a result, his household was saved, as were all the living things that came with him on the ark. (Also see Genesis 6–9)
This is where we are today- even tolerating compromise and profaning the Holy in the Church-

Summary: After the Resurrection, Jesus' followers struggled to grasp His true identity, hoping for a triumphant Messiah. They experienced a mix of expectation, perplexity and astonishment. We also face these emotions when things don’t go the way we expect them to. These expectations can cause us to miss Jesus in our midst. Yet He is in the middle of our circumstances. By inviting Him into our lives as Lord and communing with Him, we open ourselves to the revelation of Who He truly is.

Summary: God can change things in a moment! Even when things look hopeless, there is always hope with God. We see that in the book of Esther. God uses a Jewish queen married to a pagan king to save her people from destruction. What seemed to be a humanly impossible situation was turned around in a day! In a world full of challenges, where evil is called good and good is called evil, it's important that we not grow weary and lose heart. Instead, it's time to press in like never before and watch God move on our behalf!

There are moments in history when a door for massive change opens. Great revolutions for good or for evil occur in the vacuum created by these openings. It is in these times that key men and women, even entire generations, risk everything to become the hinge of history, that pivotal point that determines which way the door will swing.
Esther was such a "hinge of history" woman. Born an orphan Jew in pagan Persia, without father and mother, adopted by Mordecai, taken because of her beauty into an evil king's harem, appointed by the unseen dancing hand of Providence into a queenly place of authority, and, in a three-day fast and one do-or-die decision, saved her people from destruction.

Summary: When trouble comes, we need to know we stand on the unshakable foundation of our faith. Sadly, many Christians today falter in their faith because they lack biblical literacy and a love for truth. First John 4 tells us we must be instructed by the Word so we may discern between truth and error.
The Lord’s discipline always begins with His own and in the house of the Lord. When the shaking comes, only those things that are part of the unshakable kingdom can withstand and remain. Psalm 112:1-6 (NIV) promises that “those who fear the Lord, who find great delight in his commands. … Surely the righteous man will never be shaken; they will be remembered forever.”
Keep hold of the truth and keep focused on what God has called you to do to bring positive change. The shakings are coming! And revival will come too, whether by choice, circumstance or consequence. Throughout history, the church has always grown through times of challenge. May we keep our focus on the Lord as these shakings produce a great harvest.

Our circumstances will not limit God. God will still turn around things in the midst of your circumstances. Three things the Church (as a whole) has overcome through the years: 1. Times of persecution 2. Times of poverty 3. Times of peace and prosperity -This one we still have a problem overcoming when we do not humble ourselves and we forget where we've come from. Obedience is the highest form of worship. Never lose your vision of hope and destination - The devil wants your vison, your ability to instinctively respond in the authority of the Holy Spirit in your life. -God wants your limp. Never compromise your convictions and beliefs. If you give up the gifts God has given you, you will have no power to overcome the enemy. We can't change who we've been, what we've done; we can't change our past. But we can make the decision to surrender to the Will of the Father. Summary: A troubling recent survey says that a portion of born-again Christians who still believe Jesus was sinless during His time on earth has declined significantly. Summary: This time of year, many of us reflect on our lives, taking an honest assessment of the ways we have overcome challenges and examining our shortcomings. I’ve heard it said, “Yesterday’s sorrows can be today’s successes if the hand of the Lord is upon us.”
Reflecting on the past without perspective often leaves us with regrets. Regrets: We all have them. I know I do. Like the list of things I wish I had done or not done. We can’t change our past, but the choices we make each day define our future. Every experience can become a life lesson, that becomes a part of our life message. Remember, you cannot change the past, but the decisions you make today, define your future. A life that is truly surrendered to Him is no longer without hope. We possess the life of Christ in our hearts, and that spiritual force offers to lead us through every situation in this earthly life. His life brings salvation, healing, and deliverance to all who are surrendered to Him.

As we enter into Thanksgiving week, many traditionally look forward to spending time celebrating with family and friends. May we also remember with gratitude all the Lord has done and continues to do in our lives.

It has been a season where a number of people have become overwhelmed of heart, living in fear and anxiety about what's to come. Brian and Jenny Taylor, the 43 staff and over 100 volunteers of Somebody Cares Scotland, just celebrated 20 years as a charity and outreach ministry based in Aberdeen. The 20-year anniversary was also celebrated with the dedication of their newest facilities, being joined by many local and regional government officials, community leaders, and nearly 90 partner agencies and organizations. Join host Doug Stringer, founder of Somebody Cares International, Jenny Taylor, founder of Somebody Cares Scotland, and Brian Taylor, the CEO of Somebody Cares Scotland, as they share the incredible story of what the Lord has done. What began in the heart of Jenny Taylor, inspired by a relationship with Doug Stringer and Somebody Cares America, has now become a well-recognized charity and non-profit in the UK and beyond. What began with a passion for God and a heart for people has now become a ministry with over 20 warehouses and buildings and nearly 500,000 square feet of facilities…meeting the needs of people on multiple levels. In August 2002, Somebody Cares Scotland Founder, Jenny Taylor and her husband Brian, attended a presentation by Doug Stringer, founder of Somebody Cares America and Somebody Cares International. Recognizing her own inner desire to offer help to those in need in Aberdeen, Jenny was touched by the care, work, ethos, and values of Somebody Cares America / Int’l. Keen to replicate their model within Aberdeen, Somebody Cares Scotland was born. Starting small, they rented a store in Wellington Street, rented a van, and along with a single volunteer, Jenny began to collect donated furniture and food to redistribute it to those in need in the city. From these simple beginnings, care, empathy, and hope for the future were demonstrated within Aberdeen. It wasn’t long until word of Jenny’s work within the city was highlighted to Aberdeen City Council, and demand for the charity’s services increased exponentially. We are called to love! But, in this broken world it can be hard to love those around us. If we judge by what we see with our eyes we may misread the situation. We don’t know what is going on in other people’s lives. Remember, we are all imperfect people being perfected by a perfect God. To see transforming revival, we must seek the mind of the Lord. Hebrews 12:2-3 says it beautifully and so clearly: He was willing to give Himself for us, to suffer shame and brutality and to endure the cross, for the joy set before Him. What was His joy beyond the cross? His joy was us and all those who through Him are reconciled to God, our Father and Creator of heaven and earth! In Jesus’ own words, “No greater love has no man than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends” (John 15:13) Yes, from the manger to the cross, Jesus was born to die, that we may live.

But the decisions I make now cannot be excused by the past. As a new creature in Christ, I'm not bound by the actions of others. Regardless of past relationships or circumstances, we are all responsible for our own actions.
The Father's love is filled with affirmation, acceptance, approval, guidance, direction, empowerment, encouragement and inheritance.
