We (Bridge Evangelical Christian Church) are members of a unique and thriving evangelical group of churches in Australia, connected by a love for Christ, His doctrines, the scriptures and His sovereign grace. Based in the beautiful rural city of Murray Bridge in South Australia, and having begun in the early 1980's, we have seen people come to Christ through the proclamation of the gospel for decades through the leadership and care of Ps Des Kuhl. Now transitioned into a new era with a new Pastor: Daryl Mark and his wife Melani, we are praying and seeking God for revival and renewal of Biblical truth in the Murraylands and the nations in this post-modern age. We are reformed in doctrine and practice, yet modern in worship style, ministry and technology; committed to the spiritual growth of our members, and are a loving group of believers dedicated to the Gospel and to see our communities saved by Christ in their contexts. The book of Romans has been a blessing to many, if not all, since the apostle Paul first penned it. It delves deeper into the meaning of the gospel and it's implications for both the unsaved and saved.
John Thiele challenges us to consider the Biblical view of what it means to be a slave, and the implications for us today. John urges the church of today to welcome this often misused term and to embrace it with gladness and humility.
Continuing our series on Haggai. The Lord of hosts is with you as He was with the community who were charged to rebuild the temple.
The word of the Lord came by the hand of the prophet Haggai...These are crucial words for the church today as it resists the subjective doctrines and beliefs which are constantly seeking to undermine the authority of scripture. How well the faithful church resist and fight against the attempts to redefine the truth found in scripture?
With the temple in ruins and the community of returned exiles committed to the renovations of their own paneled houses, the Lord, through Haggai, delivers a sharp message, asking, "Is it time for you to dwell in your paneled houses while this house (the temple) lies in ruins?" Haggai's message to the people of his time, delivers a timely message to the people of God today, as we too can be more focused on temporal things rather than things of eternal significance.
Prayer is an act of humility and as such, it doesn't come easy. Why? Because humility is a quality we battle with. Therefore, the apostle Paul gives some helpful exhortation to the Christian's at Colossae on prayer.

Peter wanted to know Christ: and even though he denied Him 3 times, he recognised that Jesus Christ was God in the flesh, and that His mission was to save us from our sins. This cost-counting in following Jesus requires sacrifice, dedication and obedience to Jesus, even to the point of laying down idols we hold that provide us security and comfort in all forms at Jesus feet. A powerful message.
