God is sovereign over everything, but He chose to give us a choice, and we chose sin. That sin has direct and indirect consequences that are not God’s will. If you can’t be a man or woman of your word, people will question everything about you, including your faith. As a man in a position of authority, his failure to keep his oath before God had serious consequences.

David wasn’t anything special in the eyes of men. Even his family overlooked him. When the prophet Samuel was directed to Bethlehem, searching for the one God wanted to anoint as the next king, his family didn’t even worry about inviting David. What set David apart wasn’t his good looks, strength, stature, or social status, but his faith and humility. As Pastor Holland will point out in today’s message, this humility would lead David to know his place in times of trouble and seek the One who could help.

God’s forgiveness is a gift that is freely given to you, without any payment required, because the truth is that there is no way you can buy your forgiveness. Pastor Holland teaches you today that the presence of God isn’t something that can be bought or earned, and you won’t get a higher degree of His presence just from your good works. But you can become more aware of His presence in your life by practicing the works of the Spirit and making worship a more regular part of your life.
The Bible teaches that people from all backgrounds and nationalities will be united in the presence of God in Heaven. You may be a believer from America worshipping side by side with a believer from the Middle East, or someone from China worshipping with a South African Christian. The thread that unites all of these nationalities is Jesus Himself: His blood covers the sins of all mankind, and He is the vine that gives life to those who follow and obey His commandments.
When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, the connection between mankind and God was broken. While sin reigned in the hearts of man, that connection couldn’t be restored. But Pastor Holland teaches you today that when Jesus died on the cross, His blood covered the sin of mankind, and that connection was restored. You no longer have to go through a process of sanctification just to commune with the Father; you have the ability to speak to Him whenever and wherever.
Are you worried about the Great Tribulation that is prophesied in Scripture? Wait a second… have you heard that Jesus wasn’t born in December? It’s interesting the way we get attached to certain ideas without understanding their significance or legitimacy. This doesn’t mean we shouldn’t celebrate His birth at Christmas, but it’s important to understand the context to which He was born and the way it fulfilled prophecy and met the requirements of the Law. His birth required exact timing and orchestration by God to happen in just the right time and place.
We often take the Bible in as one continuous, sequential narrative, unaware of the hundreds of years that often spanned between books and even passages. Jesus’ birth, life, death, and resurrection were all prophesied hundreds of years before they happened. As Pastor Holland will point out in today’s message, this isn’t a common thing in the religions of the world, in fact, it’s unheard of. There’ve been prophecies in other traditions, but none can claim the accuracy that we witness in the Bible.
What do you do when you have to make a big decision? Who do you turn to for advice? Do you ask your friends and family? Do you search through all the Google responses? No human government can rule with peace, justice, and order. From kings to emperors, from presidents to prime ministers, all have fallen short. Kings and rulers have started wars, enslaved people, and acted with greed and selfishness. In today’s message, Pastor Holland teaches that this is the outcome when people rule over other people. Humans were never created to be ruled by other people. You were created to be ruled only by the one true King, King Jesus! Choose to serve King Jesus today!
If we’re honest, we all want to do things our own way rather than God’s way. We want to worship God the way we want, we want to create God in our own image, and we want to do what feels right for us. A wolf in sheep’s clothing is sometimes used to describe a character who pretends to be someone they’re not. They want you to believe they’re gentle and kind when in reality they’re waiting for the opportunity to ambush you with a dose of hatefulness or slander. In much the same way, we can treat our strongholds like this. Asking God which ones need to go, while still clinging to some. When in fact, they all need to go because Jesus can’t exist with them present. This is Pastor Holland’s message today.

Sin causes separation. God created a solution to deal with sin, but the individual must choose to come to Jesus and be reunited with the Lord. Often religion tries to fix this separation. Through good deeds, tithe offerings, and rituals, actions make the offender feel better about themselves. In the Old Testament, the high priest would enter into the Holy of Holies to atone for sin and to communicate with the Lord. There’s a distinct difference between believing there is a God and being a true follower of God. Just as in Pharoah’s day, people couldn’t deny God’s wonders and miracles. He made Himself apparent to everyone as He rescued His people out of Egypt. Still, many chose not to accept Him as their own God. We often think of our “sin” as separating us from God. And although this is true, it’s probably not true in the way that you’re thinking. In today’s message, Pastor Holland teaches about the translation of the word “sin” in relation to the verse: “the wages of sin is death” found in Romans chapter 6. Our God is a jealous God. To serve Him, you must have no other gods before Him. What does this mean? In our culture, it doesn’t necessarily mean serving another actual god, like Ra or Allah, although serving them is wrong as well. But we’ve gotten really good at being conspicuous about our gods, serving things we don’t even label as gods.
