In Christ, the “new you” isn’t about self-improvement—it’s about putting off the old life of sin and putting on the new life that reflects God’s righteousness and love.
Because Jesus has all authority and is always with us, we can courageously make disciples wherever He sends us.
The tomb where Jesus’ dead body had been laid is now empty because Jesus has been raised from the dead. There are four responses to the resurrection of Jesus. Doubt, Devotion, Disbelief, and Denial.
The burial of Jesus shows us that God honors courage in obedience and faithfulness in watching, as well as the futility of human opposition against His will.
At the cross, the full judgment of God meets the full love of God, and the identity of Jesus is revealed in unmistakable clarity.
Because of what Jesus endured for us, we are called to follow Him—even when it looks like weakness to the world.
People try to absolve themselves of sin, but we can't. It takes a perfect and holy savior to pay for our sin and forgive us so that our relationship with God can be restored.

The approach of the cross reveals the true condition of every heart—whether we value Jesus above all or trade Him for something less.
True faith, rooted in God’s sovereign grace, produces good works, especially love for fellow believers, which Christ will judge on the last day.
God calls us to be prepared for His return and to use our gifts and resources productively for His Kingdom.
Because Christ will certainly return at an unexpected time, His disciples must remain watchful and faithful, living each day in obedience and readiness.

We are called to guard against false loves, false teachers, and false teaching while standing firm in the gospel until Jesus returns.
True fellowship with God and others is built on the reality of Christ, walking in the light, and our ongoing confession of sin.

Being a part of Jesus’ kingdom means being less concerned about our status and more concerned about our sin.
Because of the resurrection we all need to see ourselves as wonderers, witnesses, and worshippers.
The transfiguration shows us that Jesus is both the glorious Son of God and the suffering Son of Man.
What you believe about Jesus is the most important part of who you are and it will change how you live.
Jesus initiates his ministry among the gentiles by receiving, healing, and feeding them showing their inclusion in God’s plan of salvation.

Courage comes from knowing God is the only God, God is enough, and God walks in the fire with you.
Remaining faithful to God often involves enduring trials, but God chooses to reveal His presence during these challenges and bless us through them.
God is committed to showing his heart for sinners, to receive his mercy, through imperfect messengers.
God wants us to see suffering as his discipline and submit to his discipline so that we can endure.
If we are going to run the race of following Jesus we are going to need to rid ourselves of anything weighing us down and lock our eyes on him.
True faith demonstrates trust in the promises of God, looks forward and hopes in God’s greater reward, and perseveres through challenge and suffering.
Since the priestly work of Christ has established the privilege of access to God we should approach God faithfully, firmly maintain our confession, and find ways to encourage others.
The whole of creation pointing to Jesus will help us see the sweetness of the word of God.
God challenges, warns, and assures so that we would earnestly pursue the assurance of our hope to the end.
Because Jesus has become our great high priest, we should cling to our confession and come to him for help.
We should come to Jesus for help because he inaugurates a new humanity, suffers to bring us into his family, and saves us from the power of death.
We should continually be amazed at the greatness of Jesus as the only one who could bring about our salvation.
Paul calls us to know there's a battle, shows how to get dressed for the battle, and helps us engage in the battle.
All followers of Jesus are called to honor him in their relationships at home and at work.
We live out our new lives in Jesus by walking in love, walking in light, and walking in wisdom.
The church is called to grow to look more like Jesus by maintaining unity, contributing our gifts, and growing in maturity.
Paul prays that God would make the gospel real to us, so that we would be strengthened to live the new life Jesus has saved us for.
The biblical centrality of the church is shown through the ministry of Paul, the mystery of the gospel, and the manifold wisdom of God.
Paul reminds the (mostly Gentile) Ephesian church who they once were, what Jesus has done about it, and who they have now become in Christ.
Ephesians 2 shows us why we need to be saved, how God saves us, and what God saves us for.
Hope, joy, and resurrection power is available to all of God's children who will ask for it.
God has done all that he has done for us in salvation so that we might praise him for his glorious grace.
Through the work of Jesus, God tramples our sins under his foot and throws them into the depth of the sea
Jesus calls and empowers us to live lives of doing justice, loving mercy, and walking humbly with God.
Jesus is the coming king, and Micah 5 shows us what it looks like to make him our king.
Idolatry leads to injustice and oppression, but Jesus provides freedom from covetousness.
The resurrection of Jesus is a purchase and preview of our own. His resurrection means real hope for the future and real power for the present.
Without Jesus’ resurrection from the dead, we all are without hope. But because of the resurrection, we can have the greatest hope in the world.
God’s good design for men and women, marriage, and spiritual gifts are for the flourishing of the entire church.
As we gather as a church, it is paramount that we have a rightly ordered view of our thinking, our gifts, and our gatherings.
The gifts of prophecy and tongues should be used to build up the church, not ourselves.
Spiritual maturity is not measured by the amount of our gifts but by the depth of our love.
We should strive to grow in the gifts God has given us so that we can serve his church.
When we divide against one another in the church, we deny the gospel the Lord's Supper is supposed to symbolize. Paul calls us to declare the gospel at the Lord's Supper and live into the unity it proclaims.
If you can’t say no to doing what you want every time, you are actually enslaved to your desires. Being able to say no for the right reasons is true freedom.
If we are going to endure temptation, we have to: See Israel's story as our story, listen to God's warnings, run from idolatry, and trust God's faithfulness.
Paul uses his life as an example (not taking payment for his ministerial work) of what it means to lay down your rights in order to serve others and not lay any obstacle before others in order to present the gospel.
Seeing ourselves rightly, as the people sitting in darkness while hoping in God alone, will produce the joy that we long for in seeing the salvation that he brings as the promised King.
The central question of our life is: Who will we trust? The truth of God with us means we can trust God when we are afraid.
Divorce is an unfortunate reality of living in a world broken by sin, but the good news is that nothing about where we find ourselves financially, socially, or otherwise can bar us from following Jesus and walking in faithfulness.
1 Corinthians 7:1-9 is a corrective teaching from Paul that paints a beautiful vision of sex, marriage, and singleness that shows them to be good gifts from God.
Those justified in the kingdom of God can endure any hardship, loss, pain, and injustice because we know that following Jesus is worth it.
We practice church discipline for the sake of our gospel witness, for the good of the church, and for the hope of restoration.
We are called to center on Jesus and the cross so that people's faith would not rest in our wisdom but in the power of God.
The gospel message of the cross is foolish and weak to the world, but it is the power of God to save.
Paul starts his letter to the messy Corinthian Church by speaking gospel truth about God's grace.
Jesus teaches us how to rejoice, how to obey, and how to trust God while we wait on him to deliver us.
Genesis ends with a preview of the exodus, the power to suffer and forgive, and the promised hope of the resurrection

In Jacob adopting Joseph's sons into his family, we see a picture of what God does for us in Jesus. In Jesus, we are blessed by God and belong to his family.
Through the story of God saving the Israelites from famine by settling them in the land of Goshen in Egypt we are encouraged to cling to faith in his eternal promises to us.
In Joseph bringing his family to Egypt and providing for them, we get a picture of what Jesus is doing for us to bring us home and provide for us on the way.
In this passage, we see that substitutionary sacrifice and sacrificial love are both the heart of the gospel and the pattern for our Christian lives.
In Genesis 43 the tests from Joseph, the response of his brothers, and the example of Jacob challenge us to ask ourselves how we respond in challenging situations.
Joseph’s reunion with his brothers points to the reconciliation and forgiveness we have in Jesus
This story is about where the answers are, where the bread is. God is going to show us through this story that his divine game plan is that he is going to draw and provide blessing for the whole earth through the appointing of a man who trusts, obeys, and rules over all things for their flourishing.
Joseph is faithful in Potiphar's house and the prison, and this points us to Jesus and gives us an example to follow.
God works through the broken situation of Judah and Tamar to bring Jesus into the world.
Through the story of the betrayal of Joseph and selling him into slavery we see that God is sovereign over sin and suffering.
Genesis 36-37:11 shows us what real blessing is through the details about Esau and the introductory story of Joseph. Real blessing blessing is a life receiving the love of God in Jesus and content with waiting on the promises of God while having nothing but him.
The Resurrection of Jesus really happened, which means that the new creation is breaking in right now, all of God’s promises are true, sin is defeated, and life with God is available.
Jesus gives us the Lord’s Supper as a gift of grace to strengthen our faith in Him and communion with Him.
Even after seeing God’s faithfulness to Jacob, in the light of the brokenness of the world around us, we are left aching for all this brokenness to be made right once and for all.
The story of Genesis 34 shows us God's justice, the heart of God, and the good news of the gospel.
Like the miraculous reconciliation between Jacob and Esau, we are now reconciled back to God through Christ. We are no longer exiles, trying to scratch up our own blessing, paralyzed by fear of meeting the one we have wronged. In Christ we are reconciled to God, saved by his life, and free to rejoice and walk in obedience to him.
Jacob’s night of wrestling with God shows us that God’s grace and blessing is made perfect in our weakness
God blesses, calls, and protects His people as they experience injustice, accusation, and fear.
Jacob and Leah show us that we are all looking for love in all the wrong places and the disappointment that leads to. But in the birth of her son Judah, Leah shows us where to find the love we were made for.
Genesis 28 shows us that God chooses, blesses, and reveals himself to the unworthy by grace alone.
Despite Jacob taking the fulfillment of his prophecy into his own hands and facing the consequences of his sin, God fulfills his promise to bless the nations through his line.
Seeing and believing that all of life is God’s grace to us has an effect on us that no matter our circumstance, it shapes us toward faithfulness to God and looking more like him.
God gives us undeserved grace in both choosing us for salvation and warning us away from sin.
Our vision for 2022 is to build a culture of discipleship marked by relational ownership and rooted in biblical literacy.
Through Jesus, rebellious people can be granted forgiveness and brought into the family of God.
Jesus is the fulfillment of all of the Old Testament's hopes, covenants, and promises. The bible is a story of salvation centered on him.
Jesus cares and loves his church and has established the office of deacons to serve and strengthen the church.

This story is a cautionary tale for us. And like all good cautionary tales, we are meant to learn from the mistakes of others so we don’t make those same mistakes ourselves. God is inviting us to peer into the horrific brokenness of this story and consider it, learn from it, and do something about it. Because even though the city of Sodom had been destroyed by God, we see that the spirit of Sodom was alive and well in the hearts of Lot and his two daughters.
Through Christ, God guarantees his promises of the new covenant to us by giving us a new identity, by knowing him by a new name (as our Father), and giving us a new sign (his Spirit).
God calls us to live holding firm to his promises by faith but also with the reality that we may never get in this life things that we will have eternally with Jesus.
Walking by faith is filled with opportunities to trust, moments of failure, and God’s gracious rescue.
God gives humanity a new start after the flood through Noah, but Noah repeats the same story of sin and failure, proving that he was not the Savior and nothing has changed with humanity after the flood. God will have to make a way for sinners, and through Jesus, he has.
Death reminds us of the reality of the curse, reveals to us the truth about God’s nature, and requires us to live hoping in him alone.
If left unchecked, sin will destroy us and lead us to destroy others. Our only hope is to look to the Savior whose blood cries out a better word.
We are broken by sin and in slavery to death, but Jesus defeats sin and death through his death.
God is a good God who gives us a good world to live in and a good design to walk in so that we can have fellowship with him.
God creates humans male and female in his own image and commissions human beings to be his representatives to rule and fill on earth.

The Resurrection of Jesus changes everything. It means hope for the future, grace for sinners, peace with God, and life in Jesus' name.
The piercing and preparation for Jesus to be buried are meant to display the divine providence of God, so that we might believe in him and have life in him.
In the death of Jesus, the words of Scripture are fulfilled and the work of salvation is finished.
Jesus is the true Son of the Father who rules as the true King, who provides himself as the Passover Lamb for us.
The Mission of the Church should be marked by Gospel Centrality, Gospel Demonstration, and Gospel Partnerships.
Healthy leadership in the church starts with and is sustained by biblically qualified elders.
As followers of Jesus, we are called to be a community of people who help each other follow Jesus.
We should saturate our lives with the bible because all of the bible is about Jesus and all of it is profitable for us.
Jesus prays for the unity that only he can bring and the glory that only he deserves would mark all believers for all time.
Jesus took on humanity to bring us into the eternal life of knowing God. We can have the same confidence in our salvation as we are confident that Jesus is worthy of glory because of who he is and what he has done.
The Holy Spirit convicts the world about what’s wrong and leads the Church in all that is right.
Jesus sends God the Spirit to dwell within us to help us, teach us, and bring us peace.
Jesus is the only way to be with God eternally, know God personally, and live for God powerfully.

We demonstrate the value of what we love by sacrificing for it. In this passage we see the Pharisees willing to kill Jesus to protect the things they value, and we see Jesus' friends sacrificing what they have to show the value of knowing Jesus.

Jesus is the resurrection and the life who can bring the power of resurrection life into our lives, right now.
You can have unshakable confidence that you are a sheep that is a part of the flock that Jesus is gathering to himself as their good shepherd. Through faith you are granted eternal life, through the laying down of Jesus’ life on the cross and his resurrection from the dead.
Real freedom is found in becoming sons and daughters of God through belief in the Son of God
Jesus is the light of the world and whoever follows him will not walk in darkness but have the light of life.
There's two ways to rebel against God, one by being really bad, the other by being really good. All of us have rebelled and need the grace of God. God solves this problem by sending Jesus to be good for us and to give his goodness to everyone who believes in him.
Jesus is the water of life who satisfies us completely and transforms us to be a channel of blessing towards others
Jesus confronts our false beliefs about himself to show us he is really the Christ, the Savior.
Jesus is the bread of life who eternally satisfies all who would seek him, believe in him, and be sustained by him.
Jesus is a greater Moses who brings and a greater salvation and comfort than Moses could ever bring. He meets our needs with his power and comforts us with his presence.
When we die, we will stand before God in judgement. And like it or not, Jesus will be your judge. The good news in this passage is that Jesus not only has the authority to judge but he has the power to grant eternal life - because he is God.
In this study of the Gospel of John, we will be looking at the incarnate life, ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus verse by verse. He wrote this Gospel so that those who didn't know Jesus would see him and come to know him through this book and find life and salvation in his name.
In the gospel, Jesus removes social, racial, and cultural barriers that keep us from him, covers our shame, and satisfies us with himself. The result of being changed by Jesus is proclaiming the good news of who he is to others.

In order to see the kingdom of God, you must be born again, which Jesus says is a work not of our own doing but of the Spirit. Like Nicodemus, many of us are perplexed by the words of Jesus. The grace of God is displayed in that he doesn’t demand us to will ourselves into being ‘born again’. He sees us, meets us in our helplessness, and offers himself as the unfailing object of our faith.
