Stay tuned for Halloween 2026 when we bring back our Haunted Hollywood display, showcasing the old movie monsters from almost a century ago, including Frankenstein, Dracula, Wolfman, and King Kong!
It's been another busy year at the Eerie Elegance Estate, with both of us & our growing crew of free house-elves working on Halloween projects all summer, and the final push is coming soon! I've been posting weekly progress on Instagram and Facebook, so please follow those links for updates while I catch up here with our full Halloween haunt dates, times & other details like when our free tickets will be available...so stay tuned!
Our Own Haunted Mansion is now CLOSED after 5732 guests in 9 nights and just over $7000 raised for Give Kids the World Village! You can find at least one livestream per night on our Facebook page, and stay tuned as we organize so many frigthfully fun photos & videos after some much-needed rest.
Our tours are closed for the season, but our fundraiser is still open at least through this week, so you still have time to add your Halloween cheer to spread joy ever farther away to critically-ill children and their families who really need it! No donation is too small, every little bit helps, and huge thanks for all your generous donations so far!
Oh, we didn't mean to frighten you prematurely; the real chills come later!
Happy Friday the 13th with spooky season well underway! Team Eerie Elegance has been working all summer with our Halloween Helpers to make it delightfully unlivable here in this ghostly retreat. Every room has wall-to-wall creeps, and hot and cold running chills. There’s no turning back now... New for Halloween 2024 will be FREE TICKETS REQUIRED for timed entry to help limit long lines and make room for everyone, so stay tuned here for how to order tickets, along with our full Halloween haunt dates, times & other details...Until then, keep watching our progress on Instagram and Facebook as we make final arrangements, and we’ll see you all a little later...
Yes, it is already past Halfway to Halloween, and it's been such a crazy spring that I'm still finishing videos from Halloween 2023, but we are well underway with plans & projects for Halloween 2024, including hosting our first Make & Take for NorCal Haunters Group! For our May meeting of NorCal Haunters, we hosted our “Infinity Illusions Bottomless Pit Kit” at the Eerie Elegance Estate, and it went well enough in person to provide our full instructions and multiple examples as a PDF download for other haunters! We had created our bottomless well for Halloween 2016 Castle Brittahytta, so we had personal experience, plus we scoured online for other similar effects, studying how & why which setups worked better than others. Screenshots and links are provided in the PDF download.
This basic kit is plain wood 2x4s repeated as plank walls, but I also dressed ours as a bottomless pit with crumpled packing paper around programmable red lights as a quickie lava tunnel effect. We also had a few kinds of wall designs and light sources available for experimenting, so we huddled around one example in our perfectly dark workshop to see how changes in wall repeats and lighting created different effects.
As another Infinity Illusion example to play with live, I created a 1:12 scale diorama of the Haunted Mansion Endless Hallway to test our setup before going full size for Our Own Haunted Mansion this year…even though we have just recently learned that the original Disneyland Haunted Mansion only has a rear mirror at the end of a very long physical hallway, not a true Infinity Illusion after all! See below for a Tools McGhoul Fruit Salad Mosaic, my 20-year-old Halloween baggies finally used for hardware for our kits set up under our new tent...and bonus points with true Haunted Mansion fan cred if you can explain why my HatBox Ghost shirt & skull corbel earrings were specifically appropriate for this event! #EerieElegance #EerieEleganceHalloween #OurOwnHauntedMansion #HauntedMansion #BottomlessPit #EndlessHallway #InfinityIllusions #mirrors #twowaymirror #illusions #classicillusions #homehaunt #homehaunters #HomeHauntersOfInstagram #HalloweenDIY #DIYHalloween #Halloweenwear2024 #Halloween2024 #Halloween #EveryDayIsHalloween
Come see our snowy Victorian Christmas decor from our sidewalk December 23rd through New Year’s Day! During daytime you can enjoy our festive garlands & wreaths with red & gold bows, you may see our antique sleigh with friendly reindeer, and you can Step Here to Start the Singing, but every night from dusk until 10pm the Victorian carolers appear on our balcony and snow falls on the Eerie Elegance Estate! Our gates are closed and our display quiet hours are from 10pm to 10am so please be courteous to our neighborhood. Hope everyone has a Happy Holiday season!

"It's over! We did it! Wasn't it terrifying? What a night! Great Halloween, everybody!"
After 10 show nights including our local ABC news crew joining us on Halloween night for our Nightmare Before Christmas 30th Anniversary Celebration, our grand totals were 5588 visitors and $11,534 for Give Kids the World Village! Our YouTube Halloween 2023 video playlist has updates, scroll back on our Facebook page for all the live videos posted each night, and Instagram & Facebook have lots of fun photo highlights from each show night.
Huge thanks to all our guests who kindly donated to our fundraiser for Give Kids the Word Village for critically-ill children and their families to enjoy week-long, cost-free dream vacations! Our dollar total finally matched the total number of attendees by the end of Halloween night, not well above our guest count like last Halloween. You can still contribute through the end of November, and GKTW will send you tax deduction details! We have had another busy year at the Eerie Elegance Estate, but now we are deep in design, development and decorating for our Nightmare Before Christmas 30th Anniversary celebration for Halloween 2023! I've been posting projects and recipes so far on our Instagram and Facebook, so you can keep watching our progress there, and stay tuned here for our full Halloween haunt dates, times & other details coming this fall...
After producing and editing 13 separate videos, I am finally finished documenting Diagon Alley! It took me this long to tell the full story of our Wizarding World Halloween and Christmas in Diagon Alley, and here we are already halfway to Halloween 2023! All the Diagon Alley videos are on our Halloween 2022 video playlist, which is linked from both event pages, and on our Eerie Elegance YouTube channel. Please like & subscribe!
Now it's full speed ahead for our big Nightmare Before Christmas 30th anniversary celebration for Halloween 2023! At least I am already almost done with our costumes: Jauntie Oogie Boogie in burlap suit sporting crawling bugs and snake tongue cravat beside yours truly as Spiral Hill in crushed velvet covered in carved jack o'lanterns, complete with Jack & Sally in front of a glowing moon and Halloween countdown clock pocketwatch!

After 7 more nights of Christmas in Diagon Alley ending on New Year's Day 2023, our Diagon Alley is done! We had a fantastic final night in good weather with 275 guests enjoying our magic, never waiting more than an hour in line, even closing on time with our snow lasting almost the whole evening...and by 6:30pm we had crossed the $15K mark raised for Give Kids the World Village to spread the magic to critically-ill children and their families! That’s another THOUSAND just in the past 2 days!
Our grand totals for our Wizarding World Halloween and Christmas in Diagon Alley together are 5410 guests visiting over 19 nights, recycling & sanitizing the same 1000 wands with 418 left, and $15,444 raised for Give Kids the World Village...wow! Thank you SO MUCH for sharing your Halloween AND Christmas cheer with them and with us! We can all start the new year proud of the good we have done while having fun!

Our YouTube Halloween 2022 video playlist has updates, including our NBC Bay Area live broadcast, and scroll back on our Facebook page for all the live videos I posted each night.
We have learned a lot doing our first walk-through experience and already have ideas how to improve Diagon Alley our next time around, but first will be the 30th anniversary of The Nightmare Before Christmas for Halloween 2023...

After 12 nights in a row including Halloween night, our Wizarding World Halloween grand totals were 3752 visitors over 12 nights and over $5800 for Give Kids the World Village, so with our match we reached our $10,000 goal!!! Thank you so much to everyone who donated so generously! Your Halloween cheer spread all the way to Orlando!

It's been a busy year at the Eerie Elegance Estate, with both of us working on Halloween projects since January when we announced our Halloween 2022 theme as "A Wizarding World Halloween" with our grandest plans yet! We have several spells working now, many magical creatures ready for our Friendly Forest, and we are already building Diagon Alley in our long driveway, looking good so far, but plenty more details to finish before it comes close to our vision. I've been posting weekly progress on Instagram and Facebook, so please follow those links for updates while I catch up here with our full Halloween haunt dates, times & other details...
Come celebrate a Haunted Hollywood Halloween at the Eerie Elegance Estate Wednesday October 27th through Halloween night! This year is the 90th anniversary of the Universal movies Dracula & Frankenstein, the 80th anniversary of The Wolf Man, and we have other classic monsters of the silver screen in residence like the Mummy and even King Kong! Full details at this page: http://eerieelegance.com/Halloween/Halloween2021/index.html
Per Eerie Elegance tradition we must celebrate Friday the 13th! For this year we present two new Paranormal Projections, this time captured in 4K resolution! The Eerie Elegance Scream Team has managed to capture several hauntings over the years, and we are excited to share them all with you, for a small fee of course!
The Ghostly Gentleman and Stylish Spirits were featured in Our Own Haunted Mansion for Halloween 2020, completely original costumes & characters filmed in front of greenscreen as our first Halloween project at our new old Queen Anne Victorian house the Eerie Elegance Estate. I made the entire dress ensemble including steel-boned hand-beaded lace corset, bolero jacket, mini top hat fascinator with feathers and bling, and 40lbs of stuffed ruffles, plus the matching vest, all from scratch for our wedding at Winchester Mystery House in 2018, then I sewed the custom cloak, decorated his hat, and transformed the full outfits into ghosts with wig & makeup. We have since haunted our local Dickens Fair, the Midsummer Scream convention, and we even wore them for the 50th anniversary Swinging Wake after-hours celebration for Disneyland's Haunted Mansion, all before we even found our own haunted mansion where they've always belonged!
Happy Halloween! Hope everyone enjoyed their evening! We had a great night at Our Own Haunted Mansion with consistent flow without crowding so everyone stayed safe like our spooky spirits! Thanks to Lori, Rod, Eileen & Tyson & friends, Katie & daughter, Susan, Debi, Christian, Cyd, and Victor & friend for coming, several who had rotating VIP fire pit seats in the driveway! We saw some very fun costumes, like Thorgi the Corgi with the Queen of Hearts, Freddy Kruger, a sassy witch, an adorable lion, an elegant web, and an entire Wizard of Oz crew! I had prepared 50 gloves filled with candy in advance and kept refilling 20 at a time hanging on our fence as self-serve trick or treat, and I only had 5 left by 10pm, but it felt like it was at least twice as many adults as kids, so not a bad first Halloween here!
Happy Halloween! Hope everyone enjoyed their evening! We had a great night at Our Own Haunted Mansion with consistent...

We successfully resurrected our Dia de los Muertos show as 8 well-attended performances at Señor Scary’s house this season, and not only did we hand out candy to 423 trick or treaters with possibly over a THOUSAND guests just on Halloween night, but we won the People’s Choice Award for our city 2019 Halloween Home Decorating Contest with 150 votes!

Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween!
Stay tuned for our Scream Team to "resurrect" our Day of the Dead show at a new location, with animatronic skeleton mariachi band the Mariachis de Muerte and Graveyard Ghosts, all hosted by La Muerte clothed in candles!
2018 was a crazy year...I got married to Ghoulish Glen in custom Victorian finery at our local "haunted mansion" Winchester Mystery House in April, in August my longtime webserver crashed completely taking my entire BrittaBlvd WordPress with it, then I broke my ankle in September just after we got Castle Brittahytta set up again, so Halloween was a bit crazy while I healed in a sparkly purple cast hiding under my costume! We did have a great Halloween despite my injury, even some Facebook Live videos of our party and trick or treaters, but I still don't have a completely functional main website to document everything the way I used to. I've been posting more to Facebook and Instagram, so you can catch up there while I figure out the best way forward...
Our Haunted Hollywood Halloween was an award-winning success in the Santa Clara Citywide Halloween Decoration contest! You can watch our full Front Show, or excerpts from the show plus a walkthrough of the entire Haunted Hollywood Horror Monster Museum featuring 13 classic movie monsters!
For Halloween 2017, the 21st-century Webmistress of the Dark hosted the grand opening of the Hollywood Horror Monster Museum, a collection of 13 classic movie characters & props in a Golden Age movie theatre that was “rumored to be ‘haunted’ but I’ll believe that when I see it!” Our guests were welcome to walk & pose on the red carpet in front of the gilded proscenium vintage movie screen, complete with projected red curtains, roaming spotlights and the custom Hollywood Horror Monster Museum logo as the show began. Four platforms including The Mummy with his sarcophagus, Frankenstein's Monster & his Bride, Werewolf, and Nosferatu were on display bordered with red velvet ropes. Seven Walk of Fame stars on the sidewalk named the front yard monsters, including our first pneumatic prop the Creature from the Black Lagoon popping up from inside the wishing well, and Dracula greeting everyone who walked up to the front porch.
Each of the 13 museum exhibits had a lighted podium sign explaining their importance to monster history, which required a lot of research, and the other 6 monsters were arranged through the other party areas. The Hunchback of Notre Dame was included as vintage movie posters in the foyer with large gargoyles plus the Gander the Gargoyles contest to find all of Quasimodo’s friends. The Wicked Witch of the West and the Invisible Man, with a vintage radio playing clips searching for him, flanked the outer patio food table, across from The Phantom of the Opera’s music on the pipe organ for the Silent Silver Screen. Scarrry Jerry’s giant spider Winnifred was in use in the backyard, this time for the Atomic Age giant insect craze of Mutated Monsters, and Man-Eating Plants were represented by our motion-sensor animated plant puppet on the inside dining table. Guests could also play the Frightful Film Fanatic game to place 39 movies from the chronological list into 3 screens of 13 movies each: the Main Theatre Screen projected in the living room window, the Mad Scientist Experiment Reel on a TV in gilded frame on the lab table, and the Silent Silver Screen projected in the back patio window, next to the pipe organ. I also edited loops of vintage movie posters on the living room TV and in the backyard on the new Movie Marquee TV, and a loop of fun vintage movie trailers running in the dining room. I have been using more and more videos and projections for several years now, but 2017 was by far the most video content I have ever produced yet, with the full movies, video edits, and live video occupying almost a full TERABYTE of external hard drive space!
Our Haunted Hollywood Halloween front show won Honorable Mention/Second Place for Most Original in the first-ever Santa Clara Citywide Halloween Home Decorating contest, with certificates and prizes awarded at a public city council meeting, but watching all ages enjoying our Haunted Hollywood show was even better!
You can watch our full Front Show... ...or excerpts from the show plus a walkthrough of the entire Haunted Hollywood Horror Monster Museum featuring 13 classic movie monsters!

Happy Halloween everyone! Tonight is the last chance to see our 2016 show live while The Webmistress Hosts a Victorian Halloween at Castle Brittahytta. Over 10,000 spiders emerge from the castle doors and crawl over the towers, ramparts and gravestones of Castle Brittahytta to an original musical soundtrack while the Ghostly Guardian watches over the castle as she has done for a thousand years. Here is the video in 4K for your viewing pleasure! I hope everyone has a fantastic Halloween! My party photos from the weekend will be coming soon to Britta Blvd, so stay tuned!
Castle Brittahytta public Halloween shows start Thursday night October 27th and run every 15 minutes on the hour from dusk until 10pm through Halloween night! Full details and address here!
This year The Webmistress of the Dark hosts a Victorian Halloween at Castle Brittahytta of Verdigris. Please do not be alarmed by her pet spiders of all sizes who freely roam inside and outside the castle.
Watch as over ten-thousand spiders emerge from the castle, swarming toward you over the towers, walls and family gravestones, to an original symphonic soundtrack. Don't worry, the Ghostly Guardian has watched over the castle for a thousand years, but she will only harm those threatening the castle or its residents.
Even the giant tree spider is friendly enough that you can sit in the chair to take a photo with its arm around you!
Her name is Winnifred, and she might even give you a hug if you don't mind her drool. ;)
If you like the show, please drop some coins in the wishing well bucket or donate online for the Eerie Elegance Trick or Treat for UNICEF Fund.
Now that the outside is finished, I still need to finish decorating inside and catch up on party food prep! Hope your Halloween season is going well!

Your set of 2 frosting sheets will arrive via USPS Priority Mail in a food-grade airtight zip bag. Recipes & detailed instructions are included with your shipment. Store out of direct light to prevent fading. Best used within one year. The sheet lasts
better intact for shipping & storage, so do not cut out the shapes until just before using on your baked goods. Up to 10 frosting sheets (65 tombstones) can be combined for the same shipping cost. Happy Friday the 13th! Today we are pleased to announce the first video from Halloween 2015...the entire 15-minute front show!
For Halloween this year, we were inspired by the uniquely beautiful and creative Mexican traditions of Dia de los Muertos for our own Day of the Dead celebration! See a "live" skeleton mariachi band sing and play for their ghostly ancestors in a joyous graveyard celebration lit by hundreds of flickering candles below a glowing harvest moon! Designed for children of all ages, this show will bring a smile to your face and warmth to your heart.
Not only was the show running all night for my big party on October 24th, but we were able to advertise and run it 4 more nights including Halloween night, which was great fun for us to have so many others come watch our show!
I'm still working on coordinating a LOT of photos and even more video in the Halloween 2015 section, so keep watching Britta Blvd for more details coming soon!
Hope everyone had a fantastic Halloween like we did!

The grandest Halloween yet was The Story of Seven Spirits, hosted by Miss Hermione G. Wells at Castle Brittahytta in 1914!
The Halloween 2014 teaser trailer was included with the party invitation:
Discover all six spirits haunting Castle Brittahytta as you explore the grounds, then listen carefully in the steampunk Library Laboratory as Miss Hermione G. Wells explains how and why she needs your help so you will be prepared for what comes next in the Main Event…
Enjoy the perspective of a party guest at Halloween 1914 hosted by Miss Hermione G. Wells as you are immersed in the interactive mystery told in 7 short acts over 2 hours, with a giant glowing-green-ectoplasm-powered steampunk device showing the “mad scientist” transmitting from Europe, the dead psychic medium leading the séance from inside an astral gateway vortex, and five ghosts summoned inside the large crystal ball using the positive mental energy of all the party guests participating in the séance…and there was even live interaction with Sir William Crookes and the Glowing Ghostly Guardian!
Please watch the Main Event first so you understand everything, then you may continue with the next video that reveals all the clues to solve the Studying Spirits quiz!
To summon the spirits in the séance led by the Webmistress via the Spirit Materializer built by Miss Hermione G. Wells, the party guests needed to identify the ghosts haunting the castle by using anything they could find, including family portraits, two “ancient” illuminated manuscript books, and some other clues…even the Tasty Tombstone cookies! Here are all the ways you could find the true names of each of the seven spirits…

Are you looking for ghosts? You have come to the right place! 6 new ghosts are now available from Eerie Elegance, plus the original Ghost in Chains from last year! All these ghosts are perfect for projectors, video screens, or even reflected Pepper's Ghost illusions. You are welcome to edit the videos after purchase for your personal use as long as they are not distributed. All these ghosts are Standard Definition video, 640x480 pixels, encoded as H.264 QuickTime .mov files. You can convert to other video formats using online video converter shareware. Playable DVDs are available but only upon special request and will include shipping charges and higher cost for the media.
This ancient tattered medieval warrior queen Tower Ghost is silently watching and pointing toward the living, twirling her spear periodically from side to side. Show this 21-minute clip as a silent loop for your personal haunt in isolated viewing locations like a high window or a tower where audio cannot be heard. See the Tower Ghost in action here.
This ancient tattered Watery Wraith is wailing, gurgling, reaching, and rattling her chains while trying not to drown. Show this 3-minute clip in a wishing well, fountain, pond, cauldron or other watery grave. See the Watery Wraith in action here.
This Renaissance era Merry Madam Mead keeps giggling while pouring herself even more mead when it is obvious she has already imbibed plenty. Show this 2-minute clip reflected inside a bottle or jar in your bar to add some humor to your haunt!
This Renaissance era Pumpkin Queen approaches while menancingly sharpening a large knife, raising it as though to attack as she moves even closer, then she stabs and smiles while carving a pumpkin into a jack o'lantern. This 30-second clip was specifically designed to interact life-size with a large physical pumpkin on the ground in front of the image projected from the rear onto a scrim, but you could also use a video screen or reflected Pepper's Ghost illusion.
This 18th-century French style Phantom of the Pipes peers knowingly over her shoulder at the viewer while sadly playing her own spooky fugue-style composition on a physical pipe organ (not included in the footage). This was designed as a life-size Pepper's Ghost illusion to interact with a physical pipe organ prop, as seen here. You could display this reflected onto a piano or your own custom-built props, with the reflection generated from a video screen or a projector. The pipe organ fugue on the soundtrack is an original composition by Britta Peterson.
This 18th-century pirate Swashbuckler Sally is brandishing her sword fighting an unseen foe from side to side. This 3-minute clip is perfect for projectors, video screens, or even reflected Pepper's Ghost illusions, especially in high towers moving from window to window, as shown here.
And don't forget the original Ghost in Chains also for sale! This ancient tattered Ghost In Chains is silently screaming and reaching toward the living as her aura brightens and fades, until her last attempt causes her to disappear, shown as the Gate Ghost from Halloween 2011 here.
Now back to all my projects already underway for Halloween 2013! Hope your plans are going well so far!
