When Mr. Spock of “Star Trek” said, “Live long and prosper,” he could have been telling 21st-century folks to start taking advantage of the longevity revolution that was sweeping over them —
One that promised a longer life than their grandparents could have imagined, but did not guarantee they would prosper, either in good health or overall quality of life. That, the logical Vulcan would have pointed out, depends on wise choices.

“Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.”
Most of us can relate on some level to that feeling. Even people who excel at taking personal responsibility have at least one story of having been hurt. Though some of us have endured more serious situations, you really can’t quantify or compare emotional pain.
Remember, you are in charge of your attitude and response. You can get over it and go on. If the hurt was unintentional, ask yourself, "Why am I magnifying it by holding on to it?" If the hurt was intentional and forgiven, ask yourself, "If the person has asked for my forgiveness and moved on, why am I still stuck in the pain?" If the hurt was intentional and unforgiven, tell yourself, "I choose to forgive the pain the person caused me so I can move past it." Then reassert yourself and determine to be happy. That’s a choice you should reserve for yourself.

Anger is a natural, healthy emotion.
However, it can arise out of proportion to its trigger. The emotion can impede a person's decision-making, damage relationships, and otherwise cause harm. Learning to control anger can limit the emotional damage. Managing anger does not involve holding it in or avoiding associated feelings. Coping with anger is an acquired skill — almost anyone can learn to control the feelings with time, patience, and dedication.

Now more than ever, companies need to focus on building powerful corporate culture. Here's giving tips on how companies can re-build/reimage their culture.
The real test of leadership does not occur when everything is smooth sailing. Rather, leadership is oftentimes tested during a crisis. The way a leader behaves and acts during a crisis will establish their credentials as a good leader or a poor one.
That being said, there is no handy manual out there that can guide a leader through a crisis. This is because while there can be certain protocols in place that prevent a crisis from happening, each new crisis is unique in its own way, with its own problems and quirks and will require a different approach from the one used before.
Very often, the unpredictable nature of crises means that leaders have no time to prepare. It is very much ado or be destroyed situation. Additionally, there is no telling how long a crisis will take to blow over. The time can range from a day or two to over a few years.
These situations get even more difficult when you are charged with managing other employees through the chaos. Not only do you have to keep your own levels of stress and panic at a minimum, you have to help others do so, all the while maintaining productivity and morale.
While there is rarely a defined path through a crisis, there are some standard practices that can help you move past obstacles and keep your team engaged, amid even the most tumultuous environment.
What is reverse delegation? How does it impact a company and team's workflow?
All these questions and more are answered in this week's Rants Uncensored!
If you could do one thing to transform your life, I would highly recommend it be to find something you’re passionate about, and do it for a living.
Now, this isn’t as easy as it sounds, but it’s well worth the effort.
In my coaching and speaking work I see people putting pressure on themselves to find their passion. I do believe it’s critically important to discover and engage in things that light you up, but it’s just as important to cultivate an un-serious child-like attitude of play, wonder and adventure.
When you deliberately open yourself to noticing things you might enjoy doing, don’t be afraid of getting it wrong. It’s all an adventure, you’re learning and growing as you go. Happiness research shows that trying new things increases dopamine levels in the brain, contributing to sustained levels of contentment. So try away!
How have you stumbled on passions in the past? Share your story in the comments section - I'd love to know, it will surely inspire other listeners and will also help me continue to help other people find theirs.
“Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.” ~ Oprah Winfrey
Gratitude is not an attitude. It’s one of the trans formative inner actions I spoke of when I defined Soul Shifts, an action originating from and in alignment with the highest spiritual truths. It’s an opening up in the presence of something that we value.
We can’t experience gratitude in our head. That’s not the feeling of it, but rather the thought. The actual experience of gratitude occurs first in the heart, and is the result of our choosing to take that auspicious inner action, to make a Soul Shift.
Gratitude is not an attitude in our mind. Feeling grateful is an internal experience of fullness and expansion in the heart, an expansion that spontaneously arises from the recognition of love, of goodness, and of grace. In its highest form, therefore, it is not a practice. It is a living expression of our own expanded consciousness. When we understand the vibration mechanics of gratitude, we realize that it is one of the easiest and most effective ways to experience an instant Soul Shift.
Culture is the character and personality of your organization. It's what makes your business unique and is the sum of its values, traditions, beliefs, interactions, behaviors, and attitudes.
Positive workplace culture attracts talent, drives engagement, impacts happiness and satisfaction, and affects performance. The personality of your business is influenced by everything. Leadership, management, workplace practices, policies, people, and more impact culture significantly.
Unfortunately, the way people perceive you is the way they're going to judge you, which is why people need to manage their perception to have a powerful personal brand.
I share with you a personal experience that made me realize how to become more aware of my perception to forge myself a powerful personal brand that dictated my professional relationships with people.
You’ve heard it said before—probably many times—that it’s important to live in the present moment. You also might have heard similar pieces of advice like:
“Don’t get caught up in thinking about the past or the future—live in the now!”
“Be present in your own life.”
“All you have is this moment. Don’t let it slip away.”
All of these (possibly overused) sayings boil down to the same basic message: it’s vital to live in the present moment.
If you allow yourself to be a victim of time – a victim of the past and a slave to a future that is yet to unravel – you will carry with you a sense of unease. You will be susceptible to stress, agitation and feel generally uncomfortable in life.
There is no redemption to be found in time.
So surrender to what is right now.
Wherever you are, commit to being there, completely. Life will take care of the rest.
"Training managers to think and act like coaches is the single most important talent initiative that all organizations should be working on." –
Picture the best manager you ever had. He or she saw potential in you … cared about you as a person … and empowered you to move to the next level. Those most important moments didn't happen in a performance review, but in a doorway or casual chat. Shifting to a coaching mindset connects differently with your employees. You guide, support and encourage, rather than direct, control and coerce. Employees feel more supported, heard and valued. Shifting from managing to coaching will result in employees who are more engaged, more accountable, perform better, think more dynamically and stay longer.
In order to be able to use your intuition, you must able to recognize it when it speaks to you. Intuition usually isn’t loud or demanding – it’s subtle and communicates in different ways for different people.
Your intuition might speak to you as a hunch, a thought, or in words. You may even be able to enter into a dialogue with your intuition to get more information and clarity.
Trusting your intuition is all about trusting yourself – and the more trust you place in yourself, the more success you will have.
What are the consequences of not responding or ignoring emails? How does it create tension within a team? How do you address them? and How to make people read your emails?
During one of my group coaching sessions, I spoke about these issues and addressed the importance of email etiquette in the workplace.
EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE is a term used to describe the ability to empathize and have emotional control. Many consider it being a necessary LEADERSHIP quality to guide employees through tough situations and outcomes without destroying cohesion.
However, it has become a DETRIMENTAL aspect of leadership, management, and humility in the workplace.
Do you have a terrible culture at work? but who's the culture? THE TEAM is the culture!
Which is why when you contribute to your company's culture in a positive light than things will slowly start to change for the better around you!
What is the best way to handle a new situation you've never tackled before? How do you tackle it as a team? And how do you show your management that you're adaptable to whatever comes your way?
These are the questions I delve into in this week's Rants Uncensored! So give it a listen, and let me know what you think.
