Sofia Virginia McGuire was born in Charlotte, NC, and graduated from UNC-Greensboro. Her studies included art, nutrition, psychology, the family and women's history. She is an author as well as a published poet and artist, and teaches meditation, expressive illumined art and elemental creation art to assist people with integrating their life journey. Sofia offers support to uphold personal and familial faith structures in an interfaith/multifaith way that promotes love, harmonious living and beauty. She is also a healer, having studied physiology and the human body, as well as vibrational healing modalities and homeopathy. She is a representative for the Sufi Order International, and is an ordained reverend and healer. She also studied for three years with the Foundation for Human Enrichment. In addition to officiating interfaith/multifaith gatherings and weddings, Sofia leads personal and group retreats and workshops, both live and via Skype. Sofia has a natural touch and the ability to place people at ease so the process of spiritual awareness can deepen and open one's truest nature. Her simple meditative approach helps people to open to, uncover and enjoy a sense of connectivity with all of creation. She uses the tools of breath, light, silence, sound, movement, music, and expressive art to elevate personal awareness. Using creative tools, together with time honored practices for illuminating the heart and conquering challenges, her meditations help to reveal the blessings that uphold us in times of transition so we can make sure steps forward.
