I can’t offer you proof (it’s only been a week and a half) But you’re going to face a moment of truth (when you make FAAB/WW cuts) It’s hard when you’re always afraid (to let go of your pre-season favorites) You just recover when another belief is betrayed (is it time to move on?) So […]
4 Days or 96 Hours or 5,760 Minutes or 345,600 seconds of baseball and it was glorious. Almost as glorious as 4 putting to win the Masters by 3 or having Byron Buxton on your team to start the year. Grey and B_Don are going to discuss the happenings from the start of the season. […]
Grey and B_Don are here to go over some spring training news as we approach Opening Day 2022. Despite the start of the baseball season, Grey is feeling a bit down as he has zero shares of the great Julio Rodriguez. We talk about Grey and Rudy’s projections for Cubs outfielder, Seiya Suzuki, who can […]
Grey and B_Don are back to finish out the rankings podcasts with starting pitchers part 2. We talk about ADP variances and where we would potentially take some of these arms (or not draft at all) when comparing rankings and ADP. We discuss how each of the pitchers may help your team and what pitchers […]
Grey and B_Don are back to begin the long trek through the starting pitcher rankings. As we approach the season, we wanted to make sure you have all the rankings you need for draft season. So, we recorded the first 50 starting pitchers in this pod. To help you navigate through the pod if you […]
Grey and B_Don are here to finally finish up the outfielders. How many guys can Grey compare to Michael Brantley? Is that a good thing? If it is a good thing, why are they all in the 3rd OF podcast? And then we actually talk about Michael Brantley.
Grey Albright and B_Don are back to go over the 2nd set of outfielders for 2022. We pick up where we left off at #34 with Jarred Kelenic. We talk about the rest of Kelenic’s tier at outfield and where we might be looking to grab outfielders in our leagues. We discuss some of the […]
Grey and B_Don are back to go over the outfielders for 2022. We start the show with an outfielder that we both missed on last year, but proved us wrong and now we’re believers. After mocking Geoff (formerly Ralph) about Tyler O’Neill last year, B_Don is happy to be on the train this year though. […]
Grey Albright and B_Don are back to review the the barren wasteland that is 3B rankings. We start with the handful of 3B you may actually want to roster before getting in the globule that is the rest of 3B. We question some of the veteran options at the position in Nolan Arenado, Justin Turner, […]

Grey Albright and B_Don are back to talk about the shortstop rankings for 2022. It may be the deepest position in fantasy baseball, there are still some questions hanging around even the top SS. Trevor Story is a free agent still and we discuss some of the possible options along with what we might expect […]

Grey and B_Don are back to review the 2B rankings for 2022. We talk about Grey’s and Rudy’s projections for the position and where there are some discrepancies. We talk about how to handle young players at the position like Jonathan India and Jazz Chisholm verses aging vets like Javier Baez or Jose Altuve. It’s […]
B_Don is joined by fellow Razzballer Steve Paulo (@StevePaulo) and Darik Buchar (@DBuchar) from the NFC to talk about the upcoming RazzSlam contest. Steve is our resident RazzSlam writer for the season and Darik is one of our primary contacts, and the two of them are here to go over the details and our draft strategies for the RazzSlam and the Cutline contest in general. We discuss how to handle some of the transitions from roto to the Cutline points set up and how to handle steals, starters vs closers, and other tricky areas. Darik walks us through the offerings from the NFBC this year. Before I let my guests go, I ask them about some of the big free agent signings of the off-season.
Grey Albright and B_Don are back to go over 1B rankings for 2022 fantasy baseball. For the first two guys, Vlad and Freddie Freeman, see the top 20 podcast. Then, we walk through the 1B tiers and determine where we might be investing at 1B in our drafts to try and find the best values for the position. See how low B_Don is on Votto and what 1B he'd be taking over the veteran 1B.
We also look at Rudy's first run of his projections to see how they compare with Grey. The 1B you take may be more about your team build than ADP or one player outproducing another by a large margin. For the catchers mentioned in this pod, check out the catchers podcast. And here are the Andrew Vaughn sleeper and Alex Kiriloff sleeper posts for your reading pleasure.
Starting the positional previews, everyone's favorite, most productive position in all of baseball, catchers! YAY! Now go listen to the intro where Grey makes fun of everyone drafting catchers way too early. From Salvador Perez to Jonah Heim (o yeah, Grey covers a lot more than 20 catchers, right here), we cover them all and where we would potentially draft these players.
Grey Albright and B_Don are here to go over Grey's top 20 overall rankings. Grey mentions how you should view his rankings and tiers, and how to use them during your draft. B_Don and Grey then talk about the players in each tier. B_Don asks the annoying questions you all want to hear. Every player has some kind of flaw if you dig in, and Grey provides his response to those concerns. From ADP to team build, get your answers here.
Free Agency didn’t only start in the majors. The Razzball podcast is going through its own transition as Grey has called B_Don in from the ‘pen to take over co-hosting duties. In between the many times Grey interrupts a transition to tell me to transition, we talk about some of the big, pre-lockout signings. The […]
Dear readers, listeners, and friends this is my final post on Razzball. After years of working a variety of jobs here I have taken a full-time role with Baseball America. So this is a emotional podcast for me and not just because we discuss the CBA! I want to thank everyone for their support over the years. Soooooooo... anyway, we invited on Tipping Pitches (@tipping_pitches on twitter). If you're not familiar Alex and Bobby discuss the labor element of baseball. The guys were great sports as Grey and myself (two men of below-average intelligence but above-average looks) pepper them with questions about the CBA and potential lockout. It's an all-time classic!
You know we had to do it em! We're wrapping up the year in classic Razzball fashion with our annual end of year draft for next year. Will I take Michael Conforto? Is Tyler O'Neill in the mix? Will I guilt Grey into drafting a pitcher? All this and more on this year's edition of the Top 25 Players For 2022 Fantasy Baseball. It's like January Grey but with less Crazy Uncle vibes.
Wait another former Cardinals prospect is tearing it up with a team that isn't the Cardinals? No way, that's never happened before, or even over and over again over the last few seasons. We're of course discussing Patrick Wisdom. It's gotta sting that he ended up with the Cubs, no? This run doesn't even make sense. So Grey and yours truly talk about it, we mix in some talk of Starling Marte's unbelievable season and a handful of names to grab over the final month. It's the latest Razzball podcast!
Is Tyler Gilbert good? Will anyone remember his name in 6 years? Did Grey break Joe Musgrove? Did Geoff watch Chris Sale's return? Did Geoff sidetrack us into Sean Manaea conversation to praise him just as he was giving up seven runs? Is there an easier way to make Century Eggs? These are many of the questions we answer this week on the Razzball Podcast. We also talk Edward Cabrera, Lewis Brinson, Hoy Jun Park, and Jose Miranda. It's the Razzball podcast, now with more ums and uhs.
B_Don is guest hosting so that Grey has an easy target to make fun of all show. The Cubs fan of the group has to discuss the combined no hitter that Craig Kimbrel didn't know about...? Grey walks you through is backwards Tout Wars team and, "he's saying there's a chance" that he could still possibly come away with #4 (Fred Zinkie, did your ears ring?). Grey's BOLD prediction from the pre-season has come true, but can you now , but B_Don is still disappointed months later that his bold prediction was rated lower.
Then, it's on to spin rates and a bunch of guy's sticky substances. Are either of the guys looking to trade Gerrit Cole or anyone else? Next, we take a look at some of Rudy's rest of season projections and where the guys fall on Wander Franco, Juan Soto, Gleyber Torres, and Alec Bohm. We finish up the pod with Grey giving you some waiver wire targets and some quick bullpen discussion with a few teams facing some turnover.
We don't invite guests onto the podcast often, but when we do we do it big. Did I just quote Black and Yellow? I don't know if Laura is a fan of a sport franchise with black and yellow colors but I hope for her sake it's not the Pirates. Our Deep Leagues writer Laura Holt joins us this week and the collective IQ of the show was raised by at least 70%. We talk sticky stuff and it's impact on fantasy, pitcher injuries, wavier wire adds, and a host of other topics to keep you mildly entertained. There's a 50/50 chance Laura takes my job after this one. She was great. Listen or else!
When even our handsome mustachioed leader is tossing no-no's you know that something is terribly wrong in Major League Baseball. The remarkable part is he did it throwing underhand eephus pitches to the Mariners. The lineup is that bad, what can ya say? They swing and they miss. All joking aside, we run through the growing no-no trend and a whole bunch of names you need to keep an eye on for the weeks ahead. Schmotatoes, Call-ups, and players returning from injury we have it all. It's the latest episode of the Razzball Podcast.
The show is back for another episode and only a few hours after lineup lock in your weekly leagues! We're such a tease right? Well, give us a break, I have no excuse but Grey, Fantasy Master Lothario, is cultivating a grapefruit on his chest and we all must be understanding of his situation. Out of respect for his growth we pushed the show to Monday and chatted about our big picture takeaways from the first month of the 2021 campaign. Did we say anything of importance? Perhaps, but I ain't gon' tell'ya if we did. I want you to listen to the damn show! So listen to the damn show, kapeesh?
Who doesn’t love a cliffhanger ending? I still recall every sitcom I’ve watched in my life that kept me hanging for a full week before the ongoing crisis is resolved. Can Uncle Phil and Will save their relationship? How long will Cherry be stuck in the old fridge? These are high water moments in entertainment. We at the Razzball podcast are no different as we present the first part of our run through the top 100 outfielders. Quick math, half of 100 is 50! Suck it common core! We take you through all the guys to draft, who to avoid, and this year’s high value outfielder going after pick 100. It’s another week of the Razzball podcast. Mount up!
Every week it's something new. No seriously we have a different position each week, and while 90% of the third base rankings are covered in the Top 20, First Base, Second Base, and Shortstops we still found a way to talk about the hot corner for 60+ minutes. And by hot corner I mean that piece in the middle of a REAL Chicago pizza. None of that deep dish shizz. We rant about the third basemen you should draft, tell you when to draft them, and tell you who to avoid. It's a wonderful journey around the horn!
First Base is back baby! It's good again!!!! Shout it from the mountains!!! Read this in one of those culturally appropriated Robin Williams voices. After a few lean years the first base position has some sizzle. Or perhaps this is the hangover of the catcher episode. "Catchers: The Ugly Friend/Slump-Buster of Fantasy Baseball". Anyway, Grey, yours trues, and crews (there is no crew) chew through the top bats at first base. A serious run through 50+ names you need to know for 2021 Fantasy Baseball.
KICKS DOWN DOOR (Loud non-descript 80s metal plays; a man steps to the mic). Are you ready? Crowd Cheers Are you ready for... Crowds cheers more loudly Are you ready for 2021 catcher ranks? Everyone stops cheering, looking at each other with bewilderment, turns away sadly and leaves. Except one man, the hero America needs. Position scarcity man, stands there unshaken by the thought of ranking catchers, for he remembers the hey day of position scarcity, he owned Mike Piazza and he's never letting go. We're ranking catchers this week. Enjoy!
January Grey is back and in full effect, he's taken the Flo-bie to the lettuce, shaved his Tom Hanks Castaway beard down to a meticulously manicured mustache and he's chockful of rankings for the good people of the Fantasy Baseball Republic. Who's number one? Tildaddy, Fun The Jewels, Mike Trout? Who is it? You already know the answer, but let Grey explain why. Rankings season is upon us and we're kicking it off right with the most anticipated Top 20 list in the industry.
Thank god for the Padres huh? Just when we thought the baseball off-season couldn't get worse A.J. Preller shows up on a new scooter ready to get us to Aspen. Is it the Shaggin' Wagon? No, but it'll do. So Grey and I return to talk Blake Snell, Yu Darvish, Lance Lynn, Ha-Seong Kim, and all the other baseball players good enough to squeeze blood from a stone. The Razzball podcast is back!
After a long two months the season is finally over. Maybe it's me but this season seems like it just got started. Oh wait, that's right this season is 60 games and about as filling as a Big Mac 20 minutes after you eat it. Don't worry Grey and yours truly are back for one more week as we run through the player awards for 2020 Fantasy Baseball based off of the Razzball Player Rater. So don't yell at us if you don't like it, blame our robot overlords. We talk the good, the bad, the odd, and the Luke Voit. It's a cornucopia of takes! It's the final Razzball Fantasy Baseball Podcast of 2020!
It's an annual tradition unlike any other, it's the Razzball Way Too Early Top 25 For 2021 Fantasy Baseball. That's right, Grey Albright, FML, and yours truly, work our way through the top 25. There's some surprises and I try and make a silly case for Michael Conforto. Hey, what can I say I'm out of touch with reality. Another riveting conversation with plenty of Grey "cackles" for the masses. It's the latest episode of the Razzball Fantasy Baseball Podcast
Welcome back to another week of the Razzball Podcast, this week we play everyone's favorite new game "Do You Trust These Dudes?" First up are Anthony Santander, Brandon Lowe, Trent Grisham, and Teoscar Hernandez! Do we trust these guys? Welp, you're going to have to listen to find out. We then dive into prospect callups from the last week, before talking trades and potential waiver targets in RazzSlam. It's almost like a normal week of fantasy baseball! Anything is possible!!!!
Scott White, Sr. Writer for CBS Sports, talks with B_Don and Donkey Teeth about the shortened 2020 season. The guys ask Scott about his expectations for his Braves for both hitting and pitching. We ask Scott about his thoughts on Mike Trout as he comes in at 5 among his rankings.
The guys then move on to discuss the recent CBS roto auction. Scott criticizes DT and B_Don's approach in the auction grabbing 3 top hitters in Ronald Acuña Jr. ($49), Cody Bellinger ($44), and Chrsitian Yelich ($56). The podcast hosts then explain their thinking toward the full stars and scrubs approach.
We move on to Scott's team and how he planned his team prior to the auction. We get his take on Francisco Lindor and his possibilities of being traded, and his expectations for Mike Soroka.
Maybe one day we'll spend an episode breaking down baseball related injuries, trades, and actual fantasy play. However, that's not our reality. So Grey and I return for another week with the freshest updates on opt-outs, COVID list, and the testing. The last week's activity did open up opportunity for a few players and we get into each playing time battle. Additionally we had a host of Summer Camp action this week and we take some time to fawn over the top players, namely Kyle Lewis. Strap on your helmets, we're back for another week of the Razzball Podcast.
These unprecedented times call for unprecedented preparation for upcoming fantasy drafts. Never before have we had the worry of a player opting out of the season after or even during our drafts. So now we plan, we update, we read the news (baseball news), and we pray our teams stay in tact. Is this a silly pastime? Absolutely! Are there many much more important issues? Of course! But level with me, we all need some release and I like many of you hope this sixty game sprint can provide the escape we all need. In this vein Grey and I breakdown the opt outs, the positive tests, and the opportunities created. It's the latest episode of the Razzball podcast in it's most apocalyptic form.
Another week and another actual show about baseball! Imagine that? We're off politics again and back on that fantasy baseball flow. Grey and I dive into the 60 man rosters and then have an in depth conversation on how to attack pitching this season. The long and short, nobody knows but pitching is going to be filled with landmines for a variety of reasons. It's the latest episode of the Razzball podcast. Now with 60% more baseball!
We recorded an episode over the weekend before the news broke. I was drunk, Grey was handsome, and baseball seemed very unlikely. This show will never see the light of day, as MLB decided to blindside us with actual baseball! Knowing this new, uh, news, Grey and I got on the line and said, "We gotta give the people the good new, uh, news!" So like a couple of missionaries stationed in a foreign land, we brought the good news. The news of baseball's return and the glorious idea of the NL DH. Due to our excitement around the potential boost for several NL players in fantasy, Grey and I go team by team breaking down viable DH candidates for every club. It's a glorious return to baseball!
Baking, Baseball, and Baseball not being played that's the theme for this week's show as Shelly Verougstraete of several websites (Rotographs, Dynasty Guru, Pitcher List, Prospects 365, and Over the Monster) and the best baking Instagram you'll ever witness joins us. We indulge in our virtual sweet tooth as Grey and Shelly talk baking and I just drool at Shelly's Instagram. Boy that sounds different when read aloud. No matter, we get into last week's draft and some of the top fantasy names to look for, as well as discuss a little of the current MLB versus MLBPA drama. It's another can't miss episode of the Razzball podcast.
After a tumultuous week in the news for both national issues of race as well as MLB's current negotiations we found it only fitting to bring on someone with a great deal of insight on both race relations and how it relates to MLB. Our guest Randy Wilkins is a Filmmaker, Director of the AppleTV Show "Dear...", as well as the director of ESPN 30 for 30 Short 86-32 (which you can watch at that link) and Docket 32357. Additionally, he provides Yankees analysis in his free time. Oh, and BTW our dude owns a few Emmys. It's a riveting discussion and one worth tuning into for Randy's perspective alone. A few times we mention his Twitter thread that went viral, that's here:
I am going to write some tweets about the MLB statement since this combines two things that I care deeply about: social justice and baseball. I will try my best to make them coherent so bear with me.

It's the latest episode of the Razzball Podcast.
