In this episode, I had the opportunity of interviewing Cory Russo, Owner and Creator of BTTR balm. BTTR, which stands for ‘Butter’ but also ‘Better Than The Rest’. It is an all-natural moisturizing balm for your hands, face, feet, and everything in between. Cory shares his journey moving to New York, launching his own business, and how he operates his one man show. I also give a little rundown of season 2 and the plan for season 3, if we have one! In this episode, I interview my twin brother with a British accent, Paolo. Fun fact, we were born about 12 hours from each other. We chat about his early childhood growing up in the Philippines and the UK, and discuss his transition of moving to NYC. When I met Paolo, almost a year ago, he was just starting out on his journey of pursuing his art career. Now he has a number of murals painted all over NYC and spends most of his free time on the weekdays and weekends, making art.

It’s hard to believe we’ve come this far and this episode is very special to me because I had the opportunity of interviewing my two good friends Rick and Onieda of Franco Blueprint. Their mission is assist and empower entrepreneurs in creating healthy financial foundations for their businesses. They have played a very important role in my life since launching my own business and in this episode we talk about the relationship between money and spirituality because the two are very much related!

The expressive Savior ElMundo, one of the artist part of the Street heARTS: Valentines & Confessions Exhibit at 168 Bowery in Nolita, NYC, talks about his journey to becoming a street artist. From dancing, to singing, to hustlin on the streets of New York at the age of 15, his purpose is to challenge others to continue to create art and be fearless in the process. His work has been showcased all over the city include the World Trade Center. He also is a director and actor featured in the documentary Be Seen Be Hard (2011).

In this interview, I had the honor of talking to Rachael N. Clark also known as Red, Queens of Hearts, and @greenguccigirl. This bi-coastal Queen curates exhibits to showcase street artists from around the world and shares their voices and creative visions with broad audiences. This past week she curated the Street heARTS: Valentines & Confessions Exhibit at 168 Bowery in Nolita, NYC. She talks about her love for Valentine’s Day and why she chose specific street artists for this exhibit. She challenged the streets artist to dig deep into their emotions to showcase both their valentine, confessions and vulnerability through their art. Love can be lonely, sad, happiness, joy..Heartbreak leads to some of the most profound opportunity for growth.

For the past year, I have volunteered to be a mentor for a Big Brother, Big Sister program. It is one of the most rewarding experiences that I am involved in. This was completely an impromptu podcast but in this episode I have a chat with my little sister GG. We talk about our relationship, the impact we have on each others lives, and discuss some of the teenage struggles going on today. I definitely encourage everyone to get involved in a mentorship program!

In this episode I get to interview the beautiful Lizbeth De Jesus. Lizbeth was born in the Dominican Republic and grew up in Washington Heights. This interview with Jessica aka Messica aka Queen Chonga herself was so FUN. Sometimes you have to open a bottle of wine (or in our case on this episode, 2 bottles of wine) and get really candid with a girlfriend. In this episode we talk about how Jess goes from being a corporate #BOSSBAE to being Burlesque Dancer. We chat about traveling, dating, family dynamics, gender stereotypes, and how to not limit yourself! It was absolutely an empowering and refreshing conversation to talk to someone who encourages, promotes, and supports women being sexual beings and practicing selfishness and confidence.

This was very intimate conversation with my friend Wynette. She starts to tell us about her journey of becoming an American citizen and the different struggles she faced being born in India and growing up in New York. Even though she came here at such a young age it wasn’t until that moment she earned her citizenship, she told herself ‘I can’t believe I’m here, finally’. Just by listening to her you will already be able to tell the type of energy this amazing woman has! I’ve never met a more passion person about nursing. Welcome back to Season 2 of the Weekly Hustle podcast!
I (your host Jenn) am so excited to be podcasting again. It has been over three months since the last episode of season 1 was released and so much has happened in life since then. In this episode, I try give a little life update, share some stats from season 1, remind people of my mission, give some hints on season 2, and I say thank you!
We just ended a weekend full of giving thanks and we should continue to practice that ‘gratitude attitude’ every single day. Being thankful for all that you have in this very moment, I believe, is the key to success. Recognizing where you are and how far you’ve come in life, despite everything that’s happened to you in the past, is your reminder that you will reach the dreams you have for yourself right now. I want to thank every single one of my listeners for continuing to support this podcast each week. It means the world to me when you guys tell me how much you love the podcast and the fact that you can relate to the stories people tell. I want to thank every single person I interviewed from season 1 for allowing me to share your story, for allowing me to get to know you on a deeper level, for trusting me with your dreams and aspirations, and for believing in me and the mission of this podcast. First and foremost, I want to thank you for supporting the Weekly Hustle podcast! Whether you listened, liked, shared, subscribed, rated, and reviewed the podcast - all of it means so much to me. I started the podcast in April and honestly, I had no idea where it would take me. Since then I’ve released 17 episodes and shared the stories of 17 incredible, hard-working, and inspiring people. I am so grateful that these people trusted me with sharing their story and allowed me to ask about some tough questions about their life. Which is why I have decided this will be the end of Season 1 of The Weekly Hustle podcast! I owe all of the people who have been on the podcast their moment. These people really helped me find my purpose in life, which is to listen, understand, and support other people. The Weekly Hustle is one of my many passions in life and everything I do, I always try to give it my best. Which is why I have decided to take a break from podcasting and focus on the other upcoming projects I have, including Season 2 of the podcast. In this episode, I interview bestfriends Suly and Jay - two Latinas of Dominican and Salvadorian. This is the first time I had two guest on the podcast - two really dope, hard-working, beautiful, and inspiring women. We talk about their travel experiences, the importance of seeing the world, and being exposed to cultures so different from ours. They also give insight on how they navigate conversations with their own family about traveling. Coming from immigrant households provides a different perspective on what our parents see for us. But most importantly, Amiga Goals is all about empowering other females to travel the world. We are seeing a shift nowadays, where females are no longer living based on the stereotypes and norms that society has for us. More and more females are traveling the world, both alone and with their friends, sharing their experiences, and are feeling empowered. We want to see more of that!

In this episode, I interview one of my bestfriends Adriana. I’ve known Adriana since highschool and the was always a very caring and loving person. It was clear for those of us who were closest to her that in the past few years, she struggled with anxiety and depression. We’ve all been there in the position where we care for a loved one so much but we don’t know how to help them and sometimes we can’t. Each and everyone of us has a unique journey, which we all have to experience at our own pace. This episode was pretty life changing for me I learned so much from Michelle, more than she even realizes. First off, this was our first time meeting in person and I first knew of her when I listened to the Let Me Talk podcast (Linked below Episode 39: "I am sort of a Mumble Rap Apologist..."). She killed it on that podcast and as soon as I heard it I told Mark I needed to meet her. So last week we met up and I felt like she was already part of my family. This Filipino Guyanese bad ass babe reminds me so much of myself and our lives are almost parallel. We chat about the importance of networking, saying yes to every job, always delivering the best customer service because you never know who you may come across, and how she picked shoes out for Lebron James! But probably the biggest takeaways from this podcast is to (1) always give back to those who are less fortunate no matter how hard you worked and (2) ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS trust your intuition.

In this episode, I had the opportunity to interview New York based artist, AJ Lavilla, at his pop up shop in the Lower East Side. AJ created The Dream is Real Pop up exhibit to encourage all dreamers to continue chasing and living their dreams despite all the challenges and difficulties they face. His artwork is all about positivity and in the podcast he talks about his journey of discovering his true passion in life and how meaningful it was for him to inspire the youth. It all began when he was evicted from his apartment in Queens, quit his 9 - 5 job, and travelled to the Philippines for a year to soul search.

This episode was so fun to do! I just met Josh for the first time an hour before doing this interview. We matched on Bumble, I asked him what I had to check out before leaving Arizona, and he didn’t know because he just moved here 2 weeks ago from Massachusetts but he mentioned he listened to episode with my mom. He has such an inspiring story & hustles so hard! In the podcast he talks about not going college and feeling like a failure, to becoming a 3rd degree black belt in karate and teaching kids, to now living in the west coast, running his own social media marketing agency, setting up a mentor program, and helping others with their hustle. This is a very special episode because I interview the most important person in my life, my mom. If you know me, you know how much my mom means to me and every time I talk about her I cry because she’s just an amazing woman. She is the reason I work so hard because I owe this woman the world. She is also the biggest weekly HUSTLER I know. At a very young age, hard work was instilled in my mom and her 11 other siblings (yes, she has 12 siblings!). She was the first from her family to leave the Philippines at the age of 24, started her life here in NYC, took on some really tough jobs and raised me as a single mother. Even at her age now (62, yeah I know she looks 40!), she still works almost 6 days a week as a nanny/ housekeeper, has a side hustle as a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant, volunteers for non-for-profit Filipino organizations, and she manages to have more of a social life then me!
